Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope that the start of week 5 puts to rest the troublesome weeks 3 & 4, and we can get on with the job of losing weight from here on in!

Just remember that weight loss from now on will be slow and steady. Unless you have masses to lose, you should expect to see around 1-2lbs a week loss.

I hope that the scales, or the tape measure, are kind to you!

Here's to a great week

mmm just had garlic and bacon creamy chicken on broccoli. lush

MrsKoala · 13/02/2019 12:53

Oh venus that is really rude. I'd tell my friend to get fucked if they said that to me (possibly why I don't have many friends!). Well done on the bread too. It's the thing I struggle most with. Cake and chocolate don't bother me at all (I have 3 half eaten cakes on my kitchen top at the moment) but lovely bread is so tempting. We've had to give up our Saturday moules as I can't handle dh chomping thru the delicious bread in front of me. I also find soup a bit shit with no bread to dunk.

Valentines day means nothing to us. DH will be back from Japan that evening and probably wont even notice me other than to give me his washing before he goes off to see his dad. :(

@BIWI

Napolina tinned tomatoes 3.6g carbs per 100g
Ground almonds 6.0g carbs per 100g

Does that pass the test?

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 13/02/2019 13:14

Thank you unexpected I have all of those ingredients so will give that a go later in the week.

Just about to cook valentine biscuits for DD. I will stay strong!

BIWI · 13/02/2019 13:41

@UnexpectedItemInShagging Area

Not really sure it's a test Grin

The tin of tomatoes (assuming it was a 400g tin) would amount to 14.4g carbs.

I don't know how much your 2-3 tablespoons of ground almonds would weigh, but assuming it's a standard 25g tablespoon then 3 tablespoons would be 4.5g carbs. So the whole thing would total 18.9g carbs, split between two people - plus a fairly negligible amount for the shallots. Sounds good to me!

Please could I join? I'm 133 pounds..

@BalloonSlayer I haven't tried the Naked rice, but I did have barenaked noodles in a pad thai on Saturday and they were pretty good (DH and DSis, not LC'ing also ate them and said they were OK). Having been warned I did rinse them well before using though.

@venusandmars that is very disappointing.

I also fancy that prawns and feta recipe - sounds like a sort of saganaki thing.

No Valentine's plans here either as Thursday is football training night! We would usually do something at the weekend instead but I have an old friend staying with her children this weekend, so we'll let it pass us by this year. I have a good Hurrah for Gin card for DH though Grin

Yesterday I did a burger in a bowl, inspired by several mentions of 'bunless' burgers here. Served on a mix of kale/spring greens/ts broccoli and spinach fried with garlic and lemon and topped with cheddar, bacon and shallots. It was great. DH and I agreed that we don't feel like we are missing out with this WOE (although he had had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich for lunch, so he is definitely not missing out Hmm)

L - roast gammon, broccoli and swede at school (they had grated the swede before boiling - no mashing required, it worked well)
D - fish curry with ts broccoli and asparagus
had such a busy morning I'm way behind on water, but exercise class tonight so should be able to drink plenty before during and after.

bluelefant · 13/02/2019 15:34

I would definitely try this recipe as well.Thank you @Unexpected

bluelefant · 13/02/2019 15:48

This week is going well so far.
Today I had
B:scrambled eggs with lots of batter
L:baked salmon salad with 1/2 avocado, olive oil and mayo
D:will be keto carbonara
I saw a 1lb drop on the scales this morning which always keeps me motivated for the day ahead.Hopefully tomorrow will stay the same.
I think for Valentines day we will opt for sticking to the plan apart from a glass or 2 of prossecco Blush

m0therofdragons · 13/02/2019 17:44

Chicken salad for lunch and salmon with vegetables for dinner. Tomorrow dd1 and I are heading out to a local production of les mis so not doing valentines until Friday. We don't really do much other than cards but I'll get steak with veg for dinner. Dh is being really supportive and commented how well I'm sticking to it. In laws are here next week and it's DD1's birthday so lots of cakes to make.

BrassicaBabe · 13/02/2019 18:08

I've been driving for much of the day. Does my water count the same if it's 80% drunk between 6 and 10pm?!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 13/02/2019 18:12

Just a warning - in my experience high fat and alcohol are a match made for weight gain. I have to keep them separate if I'm going to have a couple of glasses of wine.

Still v. ugh on the flu/sinusitis front, but recovered enough to actually cook today, instead of living off lettuce, ham and philadelphia. Had swede/celeriac mash with added leek/mushroom/onion/garlic extravaganza - with it's own weight just about in butter (a goddam ramsay thing) and cream, plus slow cooked short rib.

It's nice to be alive again. Confused

AthelstaneTheUnready · 13/02/2019 18:15

Hello,Badgerread! Of course.

Brassica, it's better to have it all than not - you don't, I think, have that many litres to get down so should be easy!

clearly it's Bordon Ramsay, not goddam ramsay* Blush

AthelstaneTheUnready · 13/02/2019 18:15

fucksake...

Livelongandprosper · 13/02/2019 18:42

Goddam Borden Ramsay Grin

Siameasy · 13/02/2019 18:44

Well done venus for turning down the bread, it really is like crack

I navigated the funeral reception buffet today but my God it was hard as there was garlic bread😭and loads of crisps. I had cocktail saus, chicken, ham, pickled onions and salad.

BrassicaBabe · 13/02/2019 19:02

I've got 2 litres/4 ish pints to get through. So could be worse.

Day 3 of no wine and already pre-emptively turned champers down for tomorrow (valentines) evening. Hubby seems to be a little bit impressed so I'm going with it Smile

BrassicaBabe · 13/02/2019 19:03

Siameasy well done on the garlic bread swerve. It's one of the things that I try to avoid doing for the kids because it's so hard to resist. And one little corner is the beginning of the end...

MrsKoala · 13/02/2019 19:19

I had the granola for breakfast and it was really lovely. But it wasn't very filling. I had it at 9am and was ravenous by 11.30 am. I had half a cup of granola, half a cup of yogurt and half a punnet of raspberries.

Siameasy · 13/02/2019 19:35

Brassica it really is the devils food. It’s that butter/warm bread/garlic smell..so comforting. No way would I even have it in the house!
Well done on the booze. Good choice! Booze seems to lead to carb binging and the munchies!

Siameasy · 13/02/2019 19:39

Yes MrsK I eyed up that granola-looks divine but it doesn’t surprise me you were hungry as I think it would have the same effect on me

Do people get fed up with explaining this WOE? I’m often being told oh just one beer/bit of bread etc. But I’m an addict and there is no just one, at least not yet because I’m not strong enough. But people won’t listen

MrsFionaCharming · 13/02/2019 20:19

I tried the low carb noodles with carbonara this evening, won’t be doing that again! They managed to be watery, weird and crunchy all at once. I ended up picking out all the cheesy bacony lumps and leaving the rest.

MrsKoala · 13/02/2019 20:29

For me the low carb noodles only work in something like a laksa, where the flavours are really strong and you just want the noodly texture. Preferably a prawn/fish laksa where the smell of fish sort of goes with it all.

Doilooklikeatourist · 13/02/2019 21:25

I’ve only had the bare naked noodles once , with a stir fry , so lots of veg going on and they were fine
Didn’t like the smell of them as they came out the packet though
Not a bad day here , made the granola this morning , so ready for tomorrow
Brunch cheese omlette
D 15% fat pork “ bolognese “ with stir fried broccoli , mushrooms and courgettes
Snack cheddar and a few grapes ( couldn’t find the olives )
Bit fed up of water , so I’ve got slimline bitter lemon , topped up with sparkling water

Haworthia · 13/02/2019 21:26

Are these low carb noodles like Zero Noodles? I tried those years ago during a brief attempt at 5:2 and found them really grim. Well, I found 5:2 really grim. Joyless, hungry days Grin
