Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope that the start of week 5 puts to rest the troublesome weeks 3 & 4, and we can get on with the job of losing weight from here on in!

Just remember that weight loss from now on will be slow and steady. Unless you have masses to lose, you should expect to see around 1-2lbs a week loss.

I hope that the scales, or the tape measure, are kind to you!

Here's to a great week

Morning all

Have just weighed myself and I'm down a total of 6lbs. That's almost half a stone and I'm starting to feel the difference. Trying to brush off my binge and attack the new week with a fresh start.

Thanks again for lovely comments on the last thread. Unfortunately there isn't anything anyone can do but I am making a Drs appointment for next week as I'm concerned about my low mood in general. I was so down this weekend that I haven't even thought about my meal prep which is a recipe for disaster. I will have boiled eggs for breakfast and grab a salad on the way to work for lunch but I really don't like to do low carb on the fly unless it's unavoidable. I'll sort myself out properly tonight.

Have a great day everyone

BalloonSlayer · 11/02/2019 06:41

Well done, Cognitive!

Well done Cognitive!

< waves to all >

Back where I was this week, only a total of 4lb lost, although I always manage to weigh lighter than this during the week.

However I look so much better! I have lost 3" round my waist and my stomach looks so much flatter. I actually keep admiring it.

Flowers thank you BIWI!!

Well done, Cognitive!

BalloonSlayer · 11/02/2019 06:43

Ha, I kept typing Well done, Cognitive at the top of my post and it kept disappearing, so I thought, well bugger it I'll put it at the end instead. I think it was just moving up as I pressed enter! Confused

So . . . yeah . . . Well done, Cognitive Grin

KiteMarked · 11/02/2019 06:51

2lbs down, wahey!

Feeling pleased.

Burnshersmurfs · 11/02/2019 07:12

Great week for me! A stone lost in total (started on the 1st Jan) and about 3 lbs from goal weight. I feel like me again, despite the horrible cold I’ve picked up over the weekend.

VenusStarr · 11/02/2019 07:14

I can't update the spreadsheet, it's not loading properly to let me edit. I'm up to 159lbs. Not really been able to do it the last 2 weeks. Having a kitchen refurb and have had no oven or cooker for that time. The fridge was disconnected a few times so had to throw away a lot of food that I'd bought for my lunches at work and have no where to prep in the evenings. I'll try and get back on it when the kitchen is usable.

The main thing I struggle with on this woe is not having regular bowel movements and feeling heavy. I'd started to use laxatives to help which doesn't feel right to me. I'm pretty much back to normal now I've eaten a more balanced diet. How do you guys keep regular?

m0therofdragons · 11/02/2019 07:50

Morning! 2lbs off this week and one week away from first target I set to be under 11st by dd1's birthday 20 Feb.

It's been a very emotional weekend and this week is likely to continue that theme but I've not gone for food (just crying and cuddles).

Doilooklikeatourist · 11/02/2019 07:51

Down a lb , which I’m pleased with
@Venus , I was worried about not going to the loo enough ( bowel end ) when on the pre Christmas Bootcamp , it was explained then , that as we’re not eating bread , potatoes , pasta etc , there’s not as much to get rid of
Step away from the laxatives , and top up the water and the green veg
[ she says , craving a big bowl of muesli }
Going out to the beach today , packing a water bottle and meal planning before we go

Doilooklikeatourist · 11/02/2019 07:53

@mOther, join me in the 10s !
I’m 10st 11 this morning 😀

nowlook · 11/02/2019 07:54

2lbs down here (was 3 yesterday, but I had wine on Sat so I'll take that).

Well done all...especially those who are having a tough time.

Rshard · 11/02/2019 07:56

Thanks for the new thread @BIWI

I’m a pound up but not disheartened, putting it down to the infamous week 3/4 stall/gain.

Well done for the losses and koko.

I can relate to the difficulties of following this woe or indeed eating during a kitchen refurb @venus. We’re coming out the other side now but it’s tricky

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 11/02/2019 07:56

venus I had an 'issue' in week 1 or 2 with that and had a short sharp espresso to get things moving - I gave up coffee a couple of months ago (bar the very infrequent cup). It worked for me. I then upped my water and haven't had problems since though am going less, every 3 days rather than every day but I don't feel clogged up.

m0therofdragons · 11/02/2019 07:59

I'm trying @Doilooklikeatourist Grin

Haworthia · 11/02/2019 08:13

I’ve now been gaining and losing the same 2lb since the end of week one Hmm I’ve even bought Ketostix to periodically check that I’m actually in ketosis, and I am, so I’m not entirely sure what the issue is.

I do feel very bloated and my period isn’t too far away, so I’m hoping it’s partly that, although I haven’t been premenstrual for the last three weeks, clearly!

Siameasy · 11/02/2019 08:14

Re bowel-I’m going very rarely. Every fourth day? But I assumed it was due to more nutritious food plus I’m actually eating less and only two meals a day usually.
I have a “birth injury” that exacerbates it tho.
I’m probably not drinking enough water

Siameasy · 11/02/2019 08:17

I was 10.11 on NYE I’m now 10.2 altho I’m hugely bloated and period is overdue-wish it would just hurry up now. My BMI says max 10.6 so I’m in BMI but ideally I’d want to be in the mid-high 9s
But very happy with this woe as have more energy overall and not hungry!

Condamine · 11/02/2019 08:21

2lbs off for me, thank goodness after my weird gain last week.

venus I've had the same problem but I upped my water by another litre and it seemed to work. I think there's so little waste on this woe that it's less frequent anyway.

Hefzi · 11/02/2019 08:27

Well, I've lost a pound this week. Which would be better if I hadn't put on 5 last week.

I won't lie: this has made me really fed up this morning. I am fighting the emotional urge to binge for hours a day, every day (life stuff), sticking to BC - I've cut out most of the dairy this week... Whine, whine, stamp, stamp, whinge, whinge Grin

I suppose, though, I have lost 6 lbs this BC: so now I'm only 9 stone 8 lbs overweight Grin. Silver lining and all that. Argh. KOKO, I know!

Congrats to everyone else, especially those who are struggling too Flowers

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 11/02/2019 08:32

Half a pound down. I'm trying to not be disappointed. Week 4 etc. I desperately wanted the scales to be in the 13s this week for a psychological boost but am bang on 14.

On the plus side I thought I had lost 11 lbs up to last week ehen infact it was 11.5 so I'm ending week 4 on an overall loss of 12lbs.

I do feel slimmer in the belly region but have lost no inches from anywhere at all since the start except 1/2 inch from my upper belly and 1/4 of an inch round my hip/bum area. I don't understand. Nothing off my waist, bust, thighs, hips, knees, calf and biceps (bingo wings in my case). So strange. Could it be that I am losing the fat from around my organs first? That's got to good right?

Is there any research or evidence about fat loss from around organs (is it called visceral?) on this woe?

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 11/02/2019 08:34

And why do my paragraphs never bloody show up?? So fucking annoying.

Burnshersmurfs · 11/02/2019 08:49

Slinky, there is some (rat-based) evidence for this here:
www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0168822704000427
Here’s a question of my own: I feel like I haven’t needed to shave my legs for ages since starting this woe, and regrown seems to be finer. Has anyone else experienced similar?

Burnshersmurfs · 11/02/2019 08:51

Oops, sorry, not rat-based. That was another one I was looking at. Cold has affected brain. And your paragraphs look fine to me (on iPad), Slinky.

Burnshersmurfs · 11/02/2019 09:06

There is also evidence to suggest that high carb diets promote accumulation of visceral fats... something to do with insulin resistance, apparently (?):

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 11/02/2019 09:11

A 1.3lb loss for me this week, total loss over 5 weeks 2.2lb.

It doesn't sound a lot but I am short and relatively small framed so I really notice it. I keep picturing BIWI's photo of what a pound of fat looks like.

Well done everyone, every gram down is a win.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 11/02/2019 09:26

Thank you burnsher that's exactly what I was after!
