Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope that the start of week 5 puts to rest the troublesome weeks 3 & 4, and we can get on with the job of losing weight from here on in!

Just remember that weight loss from now on will be slow and steady. Unless you have masses to lose, you should expect to see around 1-2lbs a week loss.

I hope that the scales, or the tape measure, are kind to you!

Here's to a great week

dia, yes, I have made peace with the fact that LC is for life for me, so I will be sticking with it, even though I haven’t really lost any weight for a year now. It keeps me healthy, there isn’t another option. I’ve been very sick and dizzy since my surgery (long anaesthetic, BP keeps plummeting), and I HAVE eaten carbs today as I haven’t been able to keep anything else down for the last 48 hours and I needed to eat before I was allowed home tonight. So there has been toast, ice cream, rich tea biscuits and rice pudding. But tomorrow I will be back on it (and actually don’t feel that great eating all the carbs, but accepted this morning as I yet again threw up my scrambled eggs that for a short time I needed to do something different. Plus they were running in dextrose anyway as my blood sugar was so low, so there was no point being precious about it).

Rshard · 16/02/2019 20:58

Congrats on your new boobs @cherries!

m0therofdragons · 16/02/2019 21:40

B - beef slice with butter (my new favourite thing when I fancy a sandwich)
L - lettuce, 2 fried eggs
D - bolognese with spinach and aubergine with cheese

In laws arrive tomorrow. Will power is my friend!

venusandmars · 16/02/2019 21:50

@mimisa 'gut health' and 'sniffed at' probably not best in the same sentence Grin

1stMrsF · 16/02/2019 22:36

Big weekend with my bestest friend from uni staying with her children. Have planned hard but still, wine must be drunk...
B - 2 streaky bacon, 1/2 avocado and 2 poached eggs, creamy coffee
L - hm gravadlax with pickled cucumber (except DSis only mentioned the sugar after I'd eaten them...)
D - Chilli and fajita bowl - hm beef chilli, stir fried chicken and peppers with Cajun spices, lettuce. hm guacamole, hm salsa, cheddar, ff creme fraiche

Was a bit too hungry by dinner time so ate too much Confused but quite pleased with my efforts today considering others had mint choc chip ice cream (my fave) and tacos/tortillas. Bit low on water I would think. Topping up with herbal tea now.

Doilooklikeatourist · 17/02/2019 08:30

Have fallen off the wagon and into a vat of wine 🙁
So stupid of me , and I’m so cross at myself and my lack of will power

Moving on
Today will be better

Mimosa1 · 17/02/2019 08:56

Lol @venusandmars

Had my new best breakfast of low carb toast, herb and garlic Boursin, a couple of quartered cherry tomatoes and lashing of salt and pepper x 2. So so good.

I also had double cream with raspberries last night. For some reason I'd always been put off cream as it's so fatty and I didn't use to like the texture but obviously my taste buds have changed and it was seriously delicious and sweet.

Love that we can have all these good things on this woe. The only thing I really miss is cold, tart, Granny Smith apples from the fridge but I think I should be able to have them on maintenance (12 kg from now!) if i ever WHEN i get there.

I've had a mini woosh of just under a lbs over night so feeling v pleased.

m0therofdragons · 17/02/2019 10:19

@Mimosa1 perfect, fruit with cream! I've been trying to think of a dessert I can eat when in-laws are here!

It's dd1's birthday and she wants chocolate mousse in her actual birthday then cake for her party at the weekend. Is anyone watching A Series of Unfortunate Events? I've been managing and cake cravings by just smelling the cake - dh is calling me a cake sniffer Grin

AandL · 17/02/2019 10:26

Apologies for absence, Can I just have a moan please?

Well to put it mildly... life has just been a fucking riot! My dad starts radiotherapy (lung cancer, chemo done) tomorrow. Parents landlord wants the appt back, not suitable anyway with commute to hospital.. so for last week + I've been looking for accommodation to no avail, very stressful. SO as of weds I told them I'm putting them up for 2-3 weeks(4 adults +2kids all 3bed,1 bath terrace house) I'll be bunking down on dd's pull out bed (my back is killing me already) and dh will sleep in his parents.

THEN... The universe repays my kindness with car accident on Thurs afternoon on way to get ds. Fucking idiot drove in to me as I was exiting roundabout, no one hurt, just shook, poor dd got terrible fright. And I have no car till insurance gets sorted... And so far other party is not accepting liability.
My shiny new car just got its 1 year service on weds !!

So with all this going on boot camp has taken a back seat.. Parents arrive this afternoon and I am overwhelmed at the thought of sharing my home, cooking for 6, and LCing. Help!!

prettybird · 17/02/2019 10:39

Had a lovely dinner last night of roast pork (rolled shoulder with crackling) with my ever present buttery brussels, as well as buttered mange tout.

For valentines Night (steak and buttery brussels) is meant to make we heart shaped tartlets by melting some dark chocolate in into heart shaped silicon tartlet cases I was given a few years ago, putting in some whipped cream and then topping with sliced strawberries. Never got round to it (had plain strawberries and cream with some of the frozen summer fruits icecream that I'd made at the weekend - recipe in the pinned desserts thread) - but I still have a few strawberries left so I might try it this week.

Oh goodness @AandL what a time of it you're having Sad

Do whatever makes your life easier - we'll all still be here. Don't let Bootcamp be another thorn in your side if it makes things more complicated. Flowers

You might also need Gin

Thank you @BIWI , even though bootcamp isn't easy it might make it feel like I have control in my life...that being said if my parents want to cook for us I am not going to dictate that it must be LC.
The alcohol will def be a problem, my parents would be daily drinkers, and I know my Dad, who I love dearly, but can be a pita, will drive me to it! Throw in the married 50+ years bickering and omfg.....I;ll be leaving them to it and checking it to a hotel myself :D

Mimosa1 · 17/02/2019 15:34

Oh @AandL you're a heroine! Putting up your parents in an act of great kindness.

Navigated Strada successfully today. The kids and DH has pizza and I had pork saltimbocca with a white wine, butter and sage sauce and they kindly replaced the crushed potatoes with courgettes, which did just as well in soaking up the juices. They had a couple of other easily LCarbable recipes, including a chicken in creamed mushroom sauce, that looked really nice.

Love the idea of valentine chocolate hearts

Destinysdaughter · 17/02/2019 16:50

Thanks to the poster who gave the suggestion of avocado with Boursin, what a lovely, easy snack that is! 😀💜

BrassicaBabe · 17/02/2019 17:43

Bless you AandL you've plenty on your plate!

Today I have rowed, shovelled bark chip for 4 hours and am nearing the end of a 24 hour fast plus no wine. Again, if I don't loose 7lbs by the morning there is simply no justice in the world! Hmm

BIWI · 17/02/2019 17:52

Well ...

Half a stone might be expecting just a bit too much Grin

Away until Friday, so logging my weight today as 127.8

I made the granola recipe. Split it in 2 - half for me, half for dh

When I am away the food will be wholesome, hearty, vegetarian, and probably a bit carby. My plan is to take some avocado, the granola (as above) cream, berries, and nuts. I'll mix and match my food with the food provided.

Re granola: what a great recipe for using up all the nuts and seeds in the cupboard. My half of the mixture has added coconut and almonds, dh's mix has all the remnants of dried fruit - goji berries, cherries, sultanas, figs, prunes.... OMG I am so glad that I will be away from home when he is eating all of that!! Grin

m0therofdragons · 17/02/2019 21:46

Still no movement on the scales. Dh asked when I last did a poo. This may be the issue as I've been on full boot camp and am thoroughly fed up. Let's see what the morning brings!

MrsKoala · 17/02/2019 22:00

Flowers AandL. That sounds so stressful. How kind you sound tho having your parents to stay.

Tomorrow I am braving London with the kids. Going to the British Museum. I have made myself a courgette, spinach and feta frittata. I will probably need wine when we get home!

Today:
B- peppers, leeks and courgettes fried with chorizo and eggs.
L - broccoli and Stilton soup and a peperami
D - roast gammon, puréed swede, fried cabbage and broccoli.

BIWI · 17/02/2019 22:03

m0therofdragons

if you haven't been to the loo, have you been]
a) eating enough fat?
b) getting your carbs from veg and salad?
c) drinking plenty of water?

All these things are really important

OP posts:
m0therofdragons · 17/02/2019 22:12

Definitely having enough fat and veg but water is probably the issue. Off to drink more...

twinklestar2 · 17/02/2019 22:28

I'm rejoining boot camp after doing well on it in 2017. Had a terrible 2018 personally and now need to shift some of this weight now I'm in a better place mentally.

Have planned tomorrow's menu -

Scrambled eggs
Ham salad
Halloumi with salad/veg.

Feels good to be back

nowlook · 18/02/2019 07:31

@AandL What a lovely thing to do! I'd last approx 5 minutes with my parents under my roof! May the scales reward you handsomely.

@BrassicaBabe I'd want way more than half a stone for shovelling bark for four hours.

I'm down a 1lb ...just waiting for a new shiny thread to post it officially Grin
