Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope that the start of week 5 puts to rest the troublesome weeks 3 & 4, and we can get on with the job of losing weight from here on in!

Just remember that weight loss from now on will be slow and steady. Unless you have masses to lose, you should expect to see around 1-2lbs a week loss.

I hope that the scales, or the tape measure, are kind to you!

Here's to a great week

@MrsTerryPratcett yup pretty much as they sound 😁 Just a hunk (bit over a tsp) of herb cream cheese or goats cheese ( I really like the Aldi one) wrapped in a slice of proscuttio. I generally get a 100g packet of proscuttio and it will last 3 mornings.
I love them, I dont eat eggs but love savoury foods (and cant be arsed cooking bacon in the morning whilst trying to get three kids ready for school) so these work for me.

BrassicaBabe · 16/02/2019 09:28

cheeries that's amazing. Hope you have a swift recovery!

nowlook · 16/02/2019 10:07

Morning all! Can't believe we're nearly half way through bootcamp!

DH and the boys have now disappeared on their annual skiing trip, so I'm home alone with a cat and a dog. Marvellous.

Had a bit of a whoosh that I wasn't expecting, but it has coincided with the end of AF, so believe it to be hormonal.

Just putting it out there that the scales are 2lbs down...what's the betting they go back on Monday?HmmGrin

Destinysdaughter · 16/02/2019 10:39

ilovecherries I’m so pleased for you, it must feel really liberating to not be carrying them around all the time! I’m 32 H and have often considered a breast reduction.

Just came on to report I’m now 10 stone so I’ve lost 5lbs in 10 days, yay!

Some of my meals have been

Ham and cream cheese rollitos for breakfast
Bacon and eggs
Tuna mayo salad
Chicken curry and cauliflower rice
Beef massaman curry
Liver onions green beans and broccoli
Prawn Thai curry with beanshoots

Also tea with almond milk
Hot chocolate made with cocoa powder, hot water Splenda and cream.

And lots of water!

MrsKoala · 16/02/2019 11:12

Felt really tired and unwell yesterday so couldn't be arsed to do my planned celeriac dauphinoise and mackerel. DH bought in his standard moules in a cream and wine sauce and I hade a few and some broccoli.

Woke this morning with my left gland up again and a sore throat so had soft scrambled eggs and spinach and butter and ginger and lemon tea.

Weighed myself this morning and I have put on a lb. :(

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 16/02/2019 11:36

It's probably inflamation weight as you are poorly mrskoala

cherries it will be so nice to not have to spend ££££ on a bra. One can but dream. Will your new boobs be perky?

ilovecherries · 16/02/2019 12:03

They are pretty perky at the moment, slinky :). You get a lift thrown in with a reduction, so they are currently very high, but will drop a bit over the next few months.

Dia12 · 16/02/2019 12:21

Sounds like a win win with the new boobs @ilovecherries. Are you planning on staying with the lchf woe now that you've reached your goal weight (well done by the way!).

I had a 2lb loss earlier in the week but seem to up by a lb again today Confused Disappointing as I was so motivated by the loss I even started back up at the gym. I did a Pilates class and two Zumba classes (not on the same day of course!).

I'm thinking the increase could be related to my aching muscles? Water retention?

lurknolinger · 16/02/2019 12:21

That's great news Cherries. So glad you are pleased with the result already, and a lovely 8lb whoosh as a bonus for all the stress and worry.
MrsKoala I'm also starting to feel an oncoming cold and despite eating nothing I shouldn't yesterday am also a pound up today, so I'm hoping that Slinky is right and it's inflammation.

MrsTerryPratcett · 16/02/2019 13:24

Thanks @WhatTheFronti they sound great!

Mimosa1 · 16/02/2019 14:15

To the PP who posted about Boursin with garlic and herbs - thanks! It's sooo delicious, all umami-ish and yum. I've been spreading it on vitalife low carb toast. Delicious.

@ilovecherries I remember you from the last bootcamp but one. You were (and are) such a source of inspiration! I'm excited for your new boobage :) (not a sentence I ever thought I'd write!)

Did anyone watch the bbc programme from those dr twins about low carbing? One of the interesting facts was that if you freeze then defrost carbs, they somehow gave a less insulin producing effect. I don't remember the science behind it, but I'm keeping the low carb toast in the freezer regardless

nowlook · 16/02/2019 14:29

I've been invited to MIL's tomorrow for an Indian takeaway. What's my best option do you think? Butter chicken?

I can graciously decline if it's going to throw me off course...

SummerSazz · 16/02/2019 15:34

@nowlook I usually have shashlik or tandoori chicken or mixed grill with okra. I make a butter chicken at home but haven't tried one from the takeaway with not knowing what's in the sauce. You could always ask them I guess?

@ilovecherries I too remember you from previous BC and you've done amazingly Star
Enjoy your new reduced boobage SmileSmile

To everyone who is up and down, take a look at my graph. It's like a bloody yo yo Grin. However as a previous poster said, it's the trend that matters. If it is pointing even slightly downhill then you're doing well.

Went to Wagamama's with DD1 today. Had some chilli edamame to start (I imagine these are carby but the day I can't enjoy some chilli salt edamame beans with my daughter is the day I give up!). After that had the pad Thai salad which is delicious with chicken and prawns.

Ran 6.25k this morning so feeling good Smile

Week 5 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Here endeth the first half!
nowlook · 16/02/2019 15:48

@SummerSazz Thanks! That sounds a much better idea.

StuntNun · 16/02/2019 15:50

Dia delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) after exercise is associated with water retention so it could well be that.

Mimosa if you freeze potatoes or rice then some of the starch molecules (about 20% iirc) become resistant starch which is indigestible. It doesn't make much difference from a carb intake point of view but the resistant starch is beneficial for the gut bacteria in your lower intestine.

Nowlook I have lamb tikka my local Indian takeaway because it comes without a sauce so I don't have to worry about added flour. I like to have a cauliflower bhaji or some other vegetable side dish as well.

MrsKoala · 16/02/2019 16:30

I have lamb tandoori/shashlik and brinjal bhaji usually. Last time I had sag paneer but it tasted very sweet so I don’t trust it for this woe.

Boobs are so unfairly distributed aren’t they? After this bc and when dad is finally finished I’m looking at getting mine vented up/sorted out. I’m a bit scared but I hate them so much it’s putting me off swimming and stuff and I’m so self conscious of anyone noticing them. Not sure what they’ll do. It’ll probably include implants on one side and a lift on the other at least I suppose. I shall think of you cherries when I need to be brave. :)

MrsKoala · 16/02/2019 16:31

Not dad! That’s all kind of weird, my autocorrect is obviously a bit Freudian! I meant DD.

I did wonder @MrsKoala!!!

MrsKoala · 16/02/2019 16:36

Oh god and vented? Not sure why my boobs need special vents! Confused I meant evened up. Apologies, I’m on my phone as my computer has died and it’s got a warped mind of it’s own. Ignore my gibberish!

Mimosa1 · 16/02/2019 19:15

Ah @StuntNun thanks for that. Freezing = lowering carb count did sound slightly too good to be true but gut health is not to be sniffed at I suppose!

Bloodybigbabybelly · 16/02/2019 19:29

Have also fallen off the wagon. Have spent the last 5 days In and out of hospital with my 14 week old. I think I have put back on everything I lost. Weight aside though I feel thoroughly shit from all the carbs 🤢 Back on it now and surprisingly looking forward to drinking 4.5 lts of water a day 😁
