Welcome everyone. We have over 150 people signed up this time, so it's going to be pretty busy, and the initial chat thread is going to be very fast-moving!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to post your starting weight.

Remember, you don't have to input your actual weight if you don't want to - you can index it, which means starting at 100 and then for every pound you lose, you take off a point.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add your name to the bottom, and then the lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready will re-alphabetise the list.

If you're on the spreadsheet and you don't want to be, don't worry - just don't enter any info, and then you'll be deleted after the first couple of weeks.

JUst a quick post to say that I am looking forward to being part of Bootcamp and hoping for god things. I am familiar with Low carb and, with long standing weight issues, have found it the only way that I can lose weight and keep it off. I actually started low carving this time just before Bootcamp was announced but am looking forward to finding new ways/recipes and ideas. Good luck to all.

meercat23 · 15/10/2018 08:48

Well, good things. I doubt god will be interested!!

Rshard · 15/10/2018 08:50

The thread is already so busy, love it!

FuriousFifties · 15/10/2018 08:56

Morning everyone, feels good to be back especially as I am at my heaviest ever, annoyed with myself for letting things slide. It's always bread products for me. I can let the booze go and the chocolate but anything remotely bread like is my weakness.

Thanks to BIWI and Althelstane for all you do.

Yogurt for breakfast with a dash of cream in it and thinking buttery spinach and eggs for lunch. I've only come a cropper in previous bootcamps when I've not been organised with my food planning. Lesson firmly learnt.

ajandjjmum · 15/10/2018 08:59

So glad you've started this again BIWI - thank you.

Up a couple of pounds from the end of the last BC, which considering that I've slipped back in to bad habits, is not bad.

Would like to lose 7 lbs and find these threads so helpful and motivating. Just not good at doing it on my own. If I can loose a few pounds each BC, I should get there in the end!

Definitely eating more healthily now - and the increased fat hasn't affected my cholestrol.

Good luck all!

NuttyMacaroon · 15/10/2018 09:06

Hi all, looking forward to starting bootcamp, I have been successfully LC before, but since starting to take Mirtazapine last December I have put on a whopping 1.5 stone. The tablets make you crave carbs Sad so I am hoping that posting here and tracking on the speadsheet will help my willpower! Good luck everyone Smile I have also decided to give up booze permanently since I last attempted LC - so that should help!

Spiderkitty · 15/10/2018 09:07

Hello all, thank you for organising the bootcamp BIWI. I've added my weight on the spreadsheet, but it would only let me add anything in column D, so I couldn't add the start date or weight in column C! I don't know if that matters though?

Breakfast - 2 eggs scrambled with butter and 1 cup of coffee with cream.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 15/10/2018 09:27

@Spiderkitty - that's a new one! I'll add it in for you - I'm guessing start date is today, and start weight is the same as today's weight?

bibliomania · 15/10/2018 09:29

Thanks Biwi and Athel. I did it last time and learned a lot.

Started the morning with scrambled eggs and spring onion (fried in butter) with coffee and a dash of cream.

Lunch is salad (lettuce, radish, carrot and avocado with olive and mustard dressing).

Dinner will be lamb stifado (from the recipe threads on here - have picked up some really nice recipes from there).

Justmuddlingalong · 15/10/2018 09:32

I got to my target of 9.5 stone on the last BC. I'm only 4lb over that now's despite being away last week, eating and drinking whatever. But, I'm glad to be back, even with the dreaded carb flu looming. Good luck everyone, this WOE works, we can do it!

FinallyHere · 15/10/2018 09:34

@Gammeldragz All the best for your inaugural A&E shift, that is such a great contribution to our society

with many thanks to BIWI , AthelstaneTheUnready and everyone. Im really looking forward to this bootcamp. Would love to know if anyone else shares my symptoms on restarting bootcamp: no sign of carb flu, but an almost overwhelming urge to eat sweet things. With all sorts of ready made e cuses why i really should eat the sweet stuff.

If i give in, then the low carb never really gets going, if i notice the urge but resist, it eventually goes away.

MaudesMum · 15/10/2018 09:35

Thank you so much for doing this! I'm weighing in at 188 lb, which is frustrating as it means I've put on a few lbs over the last 6 months or so.
My aim is to get down to 178, as that will (finally) take my BMI out of obese, but I think that's going to be hard! Key changes for me are definitely around my two main weaknesses - booze and cheese - none of the former and less of the latter!

Tokenman · 15/10/2018 09:38

What's the view on Quorn - acceptable?

LeapinLizards · 15/10/2018 10:02

@Tokenman, I'm veggie and like quorn a lot. It's good for LC, though it's processed so not good to have it all the time. But definitely really handy to include in your meal plans (if you meal plan).

Appaloosajunction · 15/10/2018 10:06

Could someone add me to the spreadsheet please?
Starting weight 156.6. Up about 2lbs since I last did a bootcamp.
Thank you very much

ilovecherries · 15/10/2018 10:07

Hi everyone, new and old :). After starting my first bootcamp in May 2017 at well over 16 stone, I’m now a healthy BMI and heading into my final half stone. I remember being horrified at adding my weight the first time (in fact, I’m embarrassed to say I recorded it lower than it was as I just couldn’t face putting the really number - I think I knocked about 10lbs off to put it in a slightly lower bracket). I couldn’t understand how many people seemed to be doing b/c when they were already at weights I didn’t even believe were possible for me. As I put my own 153 lbs on the chart this morning, I had a Eureka moment that I was now one of those people. So I just wanted to say that if you are embarrassed by your number this morning, you don’t need to be. If you look at those of us recording lower numbers take it as reassurance that it means this works. I was at 230+ 18 months ago. The last time I’d been happy with my weight was 30 years ago. I was post menopausal, I have no thyroid, and I’ve had a serious orthopaedic injury. I had nothing going for me in the weight loss stakes - and yet this worked, when nothing else did. I feel great, I’ve loads of energy and my life is my own again. My only regret is not finding this sooner. Good luck everyone :)

bingefest · 15/10/2018 10:16

Hi there —-I’m technically incompetent so posting with my former user name Bingefest when really I am bingenomore-it seems to depend on which gadget I’m using. Tokenman , from my memory Quorn is a no-no as it has no nutritional value. For those of you with crisp issues - I have found having bags of pork scratchings around for those occasions when everyone else is hoovering the crisps. As with so many of these things , it is just a habit, and we all know habits can be changed- its just the first weeks are difficult. Good to see everyone again and welcome to the newbies. Keep the faith newbies there have been some amazing weight losses on here - it really does work - even though there might be some weeks where you don’t lose for no obvious reason. I found my weight loss frustratingly slow but surprisingly lost a stone on the last BootCamp and now only have half a stone to go. Athelstane would you mind putting my starting weight on the spreadsheet for me ? It’s 153.6( Under Bingenomore ) I’ll try and work out how to do it by the end of BC.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 15/10/2018 10:21

done, Appaloosa and Binge!

bingefest · 15/10/2018 10:21

Hi Cherries.- We posted simultaneously ! You were so inspiring on the last BC . YOU had the mega long-stall but KOKO’d. We are the same weight with only half a stone to go - and also similar ages - so together we can nail this . .. Off to drink some water .....

Appaloosajunction · 15/10/2018 10:25

Thank you Athelstane

ilovecherries · 15/10/2018 10:28

Hibingefest, good to see you here again. :). My doctor gave me an interesting reframe on my stalling. I was moaning at him about being in The Worlds Longest Stall and he said ‘well, you might call it a stall, I call it 8 months of successful maintenance’. Grin.

Spiderkitty · 15/10/2018 10:31

@AthelstaneTheUnready thank you for that, I'm not sure why it won't let me add anything else, the columns only appear from D onwards when I go to edit it Confused
Start weight is the same and start date is today!

Ampstrong · 15/10/2018 10:36

Please add me @Athelstane I am currently 216 lbs/15st 6.

I was nearly 19st 2 years ago, I need to get with the program again desperately but my health has been very bad this year.

I’m an amputee and only started walking a year or so ago, I have osteoarthritis in multiple joints and degenerative disc desease. The heavier I am the harder it is for me to mobilise, and so the cycle continues!

No excuses. Have low carbed before and now need to crack on!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 15/10/2018 10:40

Hi everyone!

Amazingly, I am .2lbs less than what I was at the end of last BC, though that's 5.2lbs more than the lowest point I weighed during that BC (which came after a period of illness, so I don't really count it other than knowing that I can get down there). I'd really like to get down to 8 stone 2, so that's half a stone I want to lose.

I'm going to have to start tomorrow, though. I'd run out of LC lunch options for today so opted for something non-LC rather than trying to make a meal out of nothing. So tomorrow will have to do. The ironic thing is that, however much I've drifted away from BC over the last few months, my weekday lunches have been the one consistently low carb part of my diet.

Laska5772 · 15/10/2018 10:52

cherries really motivating post .. I was embarrassed to put my weight in , as i seem to be up 7lbs from the end of last BC this morning ... I had been maintaining but the last week , not really ..

Anyway here we all go again.. Good luck everyone..
