Welcome everyone. We have over 150 people signed up this time, so it's going to be pretty busy, and the initial chat thread is going to be very fast-moving!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to post your starting weight.

Remember, you don't have to input your actual weight if you don't want to - you can index it, which means starting at 100 and then for every pound you lose, you take off a point.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add your name to the bottom, and then the lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready will re-alphabetise the list.

If you're on the spreadsheet and you don't want to be, don't worry - just don't enter any info, and then you'll be deleted after the first couple of weeks.

Delurking to say I am in with you all on this BC. I don’t need the spreadsheet as I will track weight and water on MFP - but I do need this thread to keep me accountable .
I am another who has done this successfully before - and maintained pretty well for a couple of years.
I now two years on find myself at an all time highest weight ( including pregnancy !!)
Just went away for a weekend with DHs friends and realised I was The Fattest Wife - so that’s given me a well timed jolt .
I know this works and I know I can do it.
Just need to stay focussed. Hoping for a 10-14 lb loss . Then another stone to get back to a happy weight really.
Good luck everyone and thanks to BIWi

Mandelinka · 15/10/2018 14:56

Thanks to BIWI and Athelstane for all the knowledge, support and keeping us in line!

Btw just made a batch of egg muffins BIWI linked earlier, made variety of:
Leek and cheese
Tomato and cream cheese
Green beans and leek
Brussels sprouts and meatballs

Such a simple recipe!
Lot of the add ons vere in my freezer and the prep was 5 mins in total. Amazing

Doilooklikeatourist · 15/10/2018 15:28

Stating today too , added my weight in the spreadsheet , and somehow put it in the wrong way and it’s moved to the weight lost column
Frightened to try and change it , in case I mess up someone else’s line too

Starting at 164 lb , have a week off towards the end of November , and would like to have made good progress by then

Have the remnants of a filthy cold , and no appetite at all , ( unusual for me ) but have had some lovely creamy butternut squash soup for lunch , and will probably have more for dinner

No wine is going to be my main problem , and my muesli and fruit breakfast , though I’m sure scrambled eggs will be a good substitute

Tiredofit · 15/10/2018 15:29

Just noticed my slight Grin mistake. My weight should say 234lbs not 134 - I wish!

StoatofDisarray · 15/10/2018 15:40

Hello - I'm in - but I can't see any guidance on the max number of carbs per day - can you advise?

prettybird · 15/10/2018 15:43

There aren't per se as we don't encourage carb or calorie counting. As long as you follow The Rules, especially with regard to the "allowed" veg, you will end up inevitably being low carb (think it ends up being under 50g but honestly don't know).

StoatofDisarray · 15/10/2018 15:45

Thanks! Not watching calories will be a big ask, but I'll do my best. Thankfully, I'm not into carby foods, with the exception of fruit and potatoes. They will be my biggest challenge!

Mincingfuckdragon · 15/10/2018 15:50

@tiredofit, I did wonder why you were so down about weighing 134 pounds, but then thought maybe you were just on the shorter side... Grin

Spiderkitty · 15/10/2018 16:41

Lunch - leftover pork, buttery spinach and some mayo.
Snack - piece of cheese and some prawns
Tea will be lamb steaks, creamed celeriac, buttered sprouts and courgette.

Have already had 2 litres of water today but aiming for 3 by the end of the day!

MumOfAPickle · 15/10/2018 16:41

Weighed in this morning at 170.2lbs. Half devastated half relieved it wasn’t more. Am determined and have started well with eggs and butter for breakfast and a creamy homemade chicken and mushroom soup for lunch. Tiredofit I also thought that 134lbs would be a weight I’d be over the moon with!!

StoatofDisarray · 15/10/2018 16:50

More questions here: am I supposed to report in on all my meals? How does this board work? Sorry for the newbie questions... you've all been so kind (elephant man voice)

Gammeldragz · 15/10/2018 16:54

Stoat a lot of people post a summary of their meals for the day not everyone does. Like BIWI says, it's not a personal diary, we are here to post support and share our struggles as much as anything.

Eek, checked the May BC spreadsheet and I am starting this one at exactly the same weight! Managed to lose 10lb on that one and have gained it all back... That's what happens when you start having days off that turn into weeks off!

StoatofDisarray · 15/10/2018 17:01

Thanks, Gammel!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 15/10/2018 17:11

Hi everyone,
Good Luck welcome to day 1 of 70,
Cereal offender here, well beer is from barley.

Gosh damn scale playing up on first day.

Weigh in 1st attempt 216.9, Forgot to use the body fat percentage button -try again - weigh 218.7
What nearly 2lb gain........ Try again 218.9.. hummmmmm pick up clean fluff off the little rubber legs 216.9. Heard of fluctuating weight but in a couple of seconds. Don't really on machines to tell you your worth.

From previous Boot camps people who had Start measurements and Start photos handled the "Scale weigh" stall weeks better as there was Non-Scale related losses that showed things were changing, even when the scale wasn't.

Remember, have fun and if struggling chat about, no-one can see you're struggling here and help until you do.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 15/10/2018 17:12

You haven't mucked it up @Doilooklikeatourist - it's only because some people like to put a different starting weight in if they started early. For those that haven't, I'm patrolling the columns to make sure all is OK Wink and you're ok Grin

Nice food, Spider!

I find it quite helpful when people post meals Stoat, because otherwise all I would ever eat is brisket and broccoli, week in, week out. Seeing what other people are up to reminds me of food I quite like but just hadn't thought about in ages.

I'm beginning my low carb trembly lower lip hour because I can't have a glass or two of wine after finishing work. However, I KNOW if I can get past this hour then I'll be fine again.

batshittery · 15/10/2018 17:22

Hello everyone. I was a long term boot camper (under a name change) but I have been eating a lot of rubbish for the last 8/9 months.
I am starting tomorrow and looking forward to getting back on it.
I am taking some body measurements this evening, as I know that my shape changes even when the scales don't move much.

Good luck to us all and thank you BIWI and Athelstane Thanks

Gammeldragz · 15/10/2018 17:29

Grah thanks for the reminder, I will take measurements tomorrow!

RosalieAlys · 15/10/2018 17:30

Can anyone recommend any quick snacks ? I’m not a big snacker during the day but I do need something between lunch and dinner as I’m feeding my toddler and my self control wavers and I find I pick at his food prep 😳
Obviously haven’t done this today but having a snack ready may help with the cravings before I can make my own dinner later

@Mincingfuckdragon sadly I am also on the short side (and shrinking)

@MumOfAPickle I haven’t been that weight since I was about 10!

starsky22 · 15/10/2018 18:21

Hello everyone and thanks BIWI

Finallyhere I know what you mean about the urge to eat unbootcamp things! Walked past the fish & chip shop, which I do all the time without thinking about it, but today I felt like I really needed fish & chips for lunch! I didn't of course, as grah says you can't cheat on day 1!

Doilooklikeatourist Butternutsquash is a bit too much carbs for bootcamp, it's 7.5g per 100g and we're aiming for veg that is 3/4g per 100g, twice in one day may be too much. A good substitute at this time of year is pumpkin which is 2.2g and makes a yummy soup!

starsky22 · 15/10/2018 18:27

Just for anyone that can't access the spreadsheet, these are the other veg to watch out for as they are higher carbs, generally it is the sweeter ones as they unsurprisingly have more sugar!
French beans 4.7
Peas (sugar snap) 4.8
Yellow pepper 5.3
Carrots 6
Orange/red pepper 6.4
Ginger (peeled) 7.2
Butternut squash 7.5
Onions 7.9
Peas (garden) 9
Parsnips 12.5
Baby Potato 16.1
Potato 19.6
Sweetcorn (on the cob) 19.6
Beetroot 20
Sweetcorn (tinned) 20.1
Sweet Potato 21.3

WheelyCote · 15/10/2018 18:32

Evening all
Dinner was a bit of a mixed bag but I'm full. Have a cold and sinusitis😷

Slurping down water like there's no tomorrow.

Rosalie do you like olives?*

Koko* what's your usual 4pm pick up?

Batshit oooo I'm going to do measurements too! My hips are wiiddddeeee....I'm aiming to shrink them lol

Oh I feel your pain Athelstane

MumOfAPickle · 15/10/2018 18:36

I’ve just made some of those breakfast muffins as well. As I was cooking the kids tea it was easy to stick extra veg in so I’ve done broccoli and cheddar, leek and cheddar and beef and green bean. I made 9 rather than 12 though as I though 10 eggs for 12 muffins was a bit tight! Sorted for breakfast for the week 😁

WheelyCote · 15/10/2018 18:36

Cheers StuntNun 👍
My coconut milk fits the bill. Get in lol
I'll make the curry for lunch tomorrow.
