Good morning all, for the final Monday of this Bootcamp.

Here's the spreadsheet for its last outing!

I hope very much that the last ten weeks have been successful for everyone - whether that's on the scales, seeing your clothes fit better, better health and general enjoyment of your food!

I'll keep this chat thread going, and when it's full, will start another one until we start the next Bootcamp, which will start in mid-October.

I'm finally going to stop lurking and join.
I started a little late to boot camp (9 weeks tomorrow) but am 1st down, currently 13st12 so plenty more to go.
The reason for my later start was because I wanted to get rid of my Diet Coke addiction, haven't had one for 3 months!!
I have been flirting with HFLC since last summer (highest weight 15st6) but wasn't following the rules closely enough (Diet coke, not nearly enough water and too many nuts - continually snacking on peanut butter does not help weightloss).
Finally followed all the rules and the weight is coming off.
A big thanks to Biwi and all the other regular posters, following the threads has really helped.
My first mini goal is to lose 1 more lb in the next 2 weeks. That will mean I'll have lost 10% of my weight from the same date last summer.

NSV since last summer

  • I cope with the heat much better, last summer I would be dripping in sweat if I walked anywhere, don't know how I would have coped this year.
  • Sore knee and sore finger gone.
  • No more backache when I wake up.
  • clothes fitting better

Downs
No one has noticed yet! I'm 22lb down from my heaviest weight.
I'm not that surprised, I can't notice if I look in the mirror side on. I've lost from my thighs, arms and sides. I really need to lose from my tummy. I keep reminding myself it will have to come off my tummy soon.

I also seem to be another 1lb down this morning after a 5 week stall. , but not counting it yet ..Wink

Rshard · 26/07/2018 09:39

I’ve just ordered some scales for home, followed rayna’s recommendation. I’ve resisted for now as I was worried about getting a bit obsessive but I think it might help me in between boot camps.

So your advice to colouringin, is relevant to me too, thanks BIWI

Laska5772 · 26/07/2018 09:40

One thing I think is that I've upped my water and fat again,..had got rather lax on that front .
bobow. I've nearly lost 2st overall since January ( not all on LCHF,but have really only noticed it much n the last 6 weeks or so .What did it was realising that the tops of my arms were definitely a lot slimmer and that my bras were fitting again ( I've now gone down a bar size) .

Sadly i still have quite a bit of tummy podge ! but hoping ..

Rshard · 26/07/2018 09:43

I missed your update as I posted before refreshing ilove, glad the 2 pesky pounds have stayed off!

Was about a stone or so I think m0ther.

Welcome aboard bowow

Well done laska

LeapinLizards · 26/07/2018 10:07

@m0therofdragons, I think other people noticing is an interesting question.
I know from the past that other people's weightloss had to be really quite extreme before I noticed - I think I saw past their weight to the person so somehow didn't notice unless, of course, I hadn't seen them for ages in which case it's much easier to spot. It's hard to see when you see someone every day.
When I've been losing on BC, those who have noticed are those who know I'm doing it so possibly saying they see a difference to be encouraging. I met up with friends a couple of weeks ago who did notice immediately, none of whom have seen me since before I started. I've lost quite a small amount in comparison to some on here - 20lbs since 1 January - and I was very pleased as they are naturally very slim and tend not to notice weight off (or weight on, which is the positive side of it Grin)
Yay to the 2lbs staying off this morning @ilovecherries. Bet you were nervous stepping on the scales in case it had reappeared.

ilovecherries · 26/07/2018 15:38

The photo on the left popped up in FB memories today. If I ever needed encouragement to continue, this is it. And it got worse because I went on to gain another stone and a half before I found LCHF. It was meant to be the holiday of a lifetime, and I spent most of it a sweltering, sweaty, uncomfortable mess.

cherries ! Total transformation.. Flowers

prettybird · 26/07/2018 16:14

Fantastic ilovecherries FlowersStar

I'd never believe you are the age you are! Shock

ilovecherries · 26/07/2018 16:18

I don’t feel 60 (whatever that is meant to feel like!) anymore for sure. Decided that my wasted and scar covered leg didn’t deserve to stay hidden for the rest of my life either, so my legs are now out at every opportunity!

colouringinagain · 26/07/2018 19:36

Thanks Rayna I will track some down.

That's good to know BIWI, that's when I've been doing it 😀 I was down three pounds this morning after only 3 days??? I'm not dehydrated, it's fab but seems unlikely!

Bought some pork scratchings - eating them just felt so wrong!

Found some kids ice lollies made from Greek yog and flavourings. They're little and only 3.6/.8g carb so that's my reward for a v good day Grin

m0therofdragons · 26/07/2018 19:49

@ilovecherries you look amazing!

I know I should weigh in the morning but just stepped on the scales out of interest and I'm one lb down! I love this feeling and actually how easy it is to lose once your in this woe. My night in the Italian hasn't caused a huge issue so I have more confidence that I can stick to it with occasional deviation.

I've just realised that 5 more lbs (which feels achievable over the next few weeks) will take me to my target number 2. The one that felt impossible to reach is now in sight!

m0therofdragons · 26/07/2018 19:49

You're not your Blush

Rshard · 26/07/2018 20:07

You look great ilove

BlackMozart · 26/07/2018 23:00

destinys that is a fantastic result!!
Hurrah for iloves ‘move’ too!!

Destinysdaughter · 27/07/2018 07:03

BlackMozart thank you! It feels kind of thrilling to eat carbs again as they've been forbidden for so long. I keep expecting to be piling on the pounds these last 2 weeks, but I haven't. Though to be fair, eating a few crackers and some beans isn't so much really and I'm eating salad every day. Maybe I should go on the Maintenance thread so as to not disrupt this one ( tho it's not v active! )

Been struggling with coming to terms with my relationship breaking down and just trying not to fall headfirst into a bottle of wine every night.Sad

Catbot · 27/07/2018 07:25

Just catching up with the thread. I made a good start, went away for a bit and dabbled with some pasta and bread, but I've returned because I realise I've got over my obsession with food! So this woe certainly does work for me. I've lost about 4lb since the start but yesterday the scales were down another two pounds, so I was almost back to my previous overweight weight. I put on loads in the last year, i don't know why.

Thank you BIWI and everyone for running the boot camp. Have you thought about writing a book and including all the recipes? I'd buy it!

Looking forward to the next BC.

3stonedown · 27/07/2018 07:59

cherries you look fab!

2lb gain for me this morning due to a birthday binge. My new personal target is to lose 7lb in Aug

wentmadinthecountry · 27/07/2018 08:01

So much inspiration. I've tried before to follow you but I'm rubbish when I'm at work (primary school teacher) so the start of the long summer holiday will give me a 6 week start to embed the change. I also have a real aversion to the scales. Did it with some success a few years ago (India Knight book) but managed to pile most of the inches back on. At least I know what to do and know it suits my body (and appetite).

So day 3 for me today. I intend to go back to school in September looking younger, slimmer and definitely feeling more energetic. In the meantime I'm loving all the recipes BIWI - thank you!

Rshard · 27/07/2018 08:25

Weighed myself this morning on my new scales, 10,1.5 bit more than I’d been weighing on the scales at boots but hey ho. So that’s my new starting point. Goal for August is to get to that healthy BMI which is 5.5lbs away

m0therofdragons · 27/07/2018 12:25

Scales hit 10st 7 this morning. Despite relaxing rules and enjoying ice cream, my appetite is much much more controlled. My waist is more defined and by my summer holiday at the end of August I'm hoping I'll feel much more confident around the pool!

ajandjjmum · 27/07/2018 12:44

Brilliant m0ther!

Update on diabetic check with nurse - you may recall she told me that LCHF had killed Dr. Atkins! Just been to see lovely GP about something else - told him what I was doing, and that it was working weightwise. He told me he was doing it too and had lost a stone Grin.

Suggested I go for the next test in 6 weeks, to give me more time to 'get on it', so fingers crossed.

LeapinLizards · 27/07/2018 12:59

Love it @ajandjjmum! Grin
