Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - where we're KOKOing!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you

Just a reminder to you all that week 4, like its evil twin week 3, can be a difficult week where weight loss is likely to be minimal or even non-existent.

Please don't despair if you don't see any movement on the scales - this does appear to be quite normal at this point in Bootcamp.

Keep going, keep following the rules - stay away from the chocolate and bread! - particularly make sure you get enough water and fat - and you should see things get going again very soon.

Here's to a good week for us all Flowers

@RuffleBelly don't despair! You're in the horrible week 4, as I said in my OP. KOKO - and stay away from the cake - and you should see things get going again next week. Just remember - you have lost half a stone!

@wherehavealltheflowersgone desiccated coconut is 6.1g carbs per 100g, so it should be fine. (Although Bootcamp Light not Bootcamp)

Welcome back @Mimosa1 - sorry about your bereavement Flowers

There’s a programme on this Wednesday evening on BBC1 called The Truth About.....carbs. I think they do a different subject each week. Examining the view that people eat too many carbs and the possible link between carb consumption and infertility

Hi all, well done on the losses and the KOKO all round! I am down 2lb this week; I was on track for 3lb but the time of the month has derailed my progress on the scale. However, I can wear everything in my wardrobe now bar 2 dresses. I have been trying the dresses on every few days and I can see I am getting close!

I have also noticed that caffeine has lost its appeal somewhat. I am still having my coffee with cream in the morning but drinking water or peppermint tea at work.

Only 6 weeks until we go on holiday now and 8 weeks until my big birthday...

Just 1 lb for me.

My back fat rolls look like they are getting smaller.

Still ok with the WOE but my legs still feel so heavy.

I feel the same as you shagmeriggins I am devastated I've done this to myself Sad

I just looked up The Truth About Carbs Rshard and it's presented by that pillock Xand van Tulleken so I can't see it doing anything other than toe the party line on how carbs aren't that great but fat is definitely bad is so you'd better keep eating pasta and bread.

Another 1lb down for me and another 1/2 I'm off my waist and hips.

Just wanted to say thanks to you all again about my grump with my new diagnosis last week. Had a stern word with myself and I'm NOT going to give up!

I have lost 1lb (finally!) which I am pleased about, not least because it puts me in the 10s and I was beginning to wonder if my scales were stuck on 11 stone!

My blood pressure has hardly changed at all though which is disappointing. Has anyone else successfully lowered their blood pressure on this WOE?

Hello all, reporting on for duty. So I have lost 1.4 pounds this week and have now lost an overall of 6 pounds! I’m pretty happy with that. I have to add, I eat a lot of healthy fat and I am surprised how the weight is finally shifting. I’ve tried other ways but not been able to budge my weight since I hit 40.
Low carbing and ditching grains, has been a big change for me. I’m pretty happy with where I’m going with this. And I quite enjoy the eating plan (but I do eat whipped cream - it’s my favorite).

Another victory here. I tried on my Good Bra and now only have two breasts instead of four.

Pass the stick this way please. A problematic few days which involved traveling from one end of the country to the other and I just didn't manage to drink sufficient amounts of water. I thought I had planned enough in advance to be able to adapt my food choices but it all came crashing down in a cold wet Scottish camp site.
Feeling a little like I'm back at square one today but it's lovely to have my own bathroom back!

I had forgotten my bra victory! Thanks itchy! I wore my Very Expensive bra yesterday, and it didn't dig me in the armpits like it used to.

Never heard of him stuntnun, it’ll be a shame if it is the usual stuff. I was hopeful as I came across the programme of a retweet from the low carb GP.

Well done all on the losses and KOKOing!

I’ve been away for over a week ( my annual visit to my parents) and indulged a bit ( I get to eat my mums cooking only once or twice a year and she is an amazing cook) so won’t be hopping on the scales at least until next Monday. Also the TOM is here so no point in upsetting myself over the weight gain.
I’m glad I’m back and regaining control over what goes into my food. My mum loves cooking and is very overweight but refuses to listen to any dietary advice.
This really worries me as I want her to be around for many years to come to enjoy her grandkids.

it’s great to be back

Lonesurvivor You’re absolutely right—in my wildest dreams I wouldn’t judge overweight people. Life is hard enough without that kind of thing. I’ll save my judgment for those who are truly damaging the world.

You know, even my sustained off-piste wasn’t that bad. I was still keeping LCHF principles in mind, but it’s clear I surpassed my ideal “maintenance” way of eating. I think what bothers me is I was soooo in the zone at the end of last bootcamp—there’s a post out there where I’m virtually bragging about what a piece of cake (pun intended) it will be to lose the last 40 lbs, oh ha ha ha! So it was a surprise to see how quickly I can get out of the zone.

Clearly something in me balked and I’m getting past it, but I believe so firmly in the psychological aspect as well as the physical that I’ve been examining things a bit so I don’t revert to nasty habits!

I’ll stop banging on now but huge congrats on your 32, that is brilliant. And the next 70...? Piece of cake. Wink

Posted this on the end of the previous thread. Didn't realise a new one was up. Does anyone know if it's ok to take Lactulose (the constipation stuff?) It full of sugars (loads of stuff ending in -ose) Thanks.

itchyknees I rejoice in your loss of breastage. Well done.

sheldonesque as you go along this path, try to figure out the Why of what has happened. The answer will never be because you’re lazy or greedy or have no will power—it will be something else. Then remember that you can be in control of this, of your future. Then let’s both pull ourselves out of the Pit of Devastation and celebrate ourselves and our achievements.

Here’s my little weight chart to cheer you up. Grin

Just checking in for week 4. Really helps to hear that week 4 can mean no/very little loss. I'm a non weigher but felt rubbish yesterday, like there was no change and I was getting a bit bored with eating the same old foods. Feeling much better and brighter today and grated half a square of 85% chocolate in my yoghurt and cream this morning, it felt really decadent!
KOKO everyone!

Pebble - according to MFP it's 28 cals for 30 ml - no carbs or fat.

Rshard Ill have to watch that Wednesday if it doesn't clash with love island I'm still having trouble convincing DP he would still be full with LCHF. At the moment everything I cook us I chuck a few chips in to go with his Blush

I thought I would just share with you all that I thought I was wearing a size 14 dress today and everyone kept saying how it looked lovely, just checked the label and it's a 12! I can't believe it, it was obviously on the wrong hanger when I brought it but I'm bloody delighted. This time last year I was wearing a 20.

3stonedown that's amazing!

Pebble be aware that the data in MFP is populated by its users so isn’t comprehensive.

This website says that each 15g dose contains 10g lactulose, which I would assume means 10g sugar. www.drugs.com/answers/re-lactulose-and-amount-of-sugar-in-syrup-129384.html

You’d be much better off with a daily magnesium tablet or psyllium husks or even some flax seed sprinkled over your salad. If it’s urgent, I recommend a glycerin suppository, which might cause a bit of cramping but is quick and effective.

Checking in after a week away. Planned indulgence turned into basic unplanned overindulge Sad I was at goal. But now have a lot of work to do. I'm hoping for "one week on, one week off". But I'm afraid I think that's optimistic Sad
