Low-carb bootcamp

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - where we're KOKOing!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you

Just a reminder to you all that week 4, like its evil twin week 3, can be a difficult week where weight loss is likely to be minimal or even non-existent.

Please don't despair if you don't see any movement on the scales - this does appear to be quite normal at this point in Bootcamp.

Keep going, keep following the rules - stay away from the chocolate and bread! - particularly make sure you get enough water and fat - and you should see things get going again very soon.

Here's to a good week for us all Flowers

Thanks for new thread and your warning BIWI on possibl e slow weight loss in weeks 3 &4 .. !

Well I am a whole quarter of a pound downf rom last week ! ( but at least its down not up.. )

However I had a good try on of more summer clothes and all my dresses fit again! . Tum has definitely shrunk , as I can fit into more fitted waist skirts and trousers than before and also my bra is definitely much more comfortable and I can put it on a smaller hook , ( my boobs and tum are the main places I put weight on ).

Also all this fat means my skin is really good , (it has a tendency to be really dry ) ..
So I am really pleased with this ..

I shall continue to KOKO hardcore bootcamp . Am quite happy with it ..

Thanks for the info. I'll look for alternatives.

One pound on, despite staying on strict boot camp regime, no cheats.
Trying not to be too despondent...I will keep going, and hope I get my rewards eventually!

@Yarboosucks, I'm the same, I look ok if I face the mirror, but turning sideways is very disappointing!
Missed my weigh in this morning as massively overslept and was in such a panic about being late for work, forgot all about it!

Holiday last week in a beautiful hotel that serves amazing food. In a country I used to live in, and love the local speciality food that I can't get at home. So I wasn't entirely surprised that I got home on Saturday to be half a stone up. 4 pounds of that had gone by this morning though, and I got properly back on track as soon as I stepped off the plane, so the rest will go fairly quickly. Onwards and downwards!

Tuscansausage i was hungry a lot last week. I upped my fat intake, increased portion sizes and started including a small amount of nuts each day. This has helped a bit, but I can still feel a bit tired. I’m wondering if it could be the body trying to become fat adapted, but in the meantime just sending out hunger signals to try and get something easier to process? However, I am not craving sugar, and I can happily serve up puddings without even wanting a taste, which is amazing.

I have gained a couple of pounds today, but as well as eating a lot more, I was at a dinner party at the weekend. Although I had no bread, wine or pudding, I did have some potato ( the host had gone to a lot of trouble, and it was so lovely, and I figured it was better to be polite and enjoy the meal), so this has probably contributed to a small gain, and I’m sure it will go in the next week or two.

Happy with this woe, but I would love to hear if you find a way to combat the hunger - I was loving it when I wasn’t so hungry the week before.

The portion size I can eat at dinner has massively decreased. I can't believe the platefuls I could manage before compared to now.

Hello all and well done to everyone. I find all the posts so inspiring. I weighed in on Saturday so a little early. 5lb down overall which is back to where I was before the box of chocolates incident last week. More importantly to me, I am sleeping so well after a lifetime of insomnia. Last night I slept 9 hours. The first night before term starts I normally sleep about 2 hours! If this effect stays I am on LCHF for life!

Successful LC day (also trying to stick to 8 hour eating window, which is why I post times instead of meals).

11am - bulletproof coffee
2pm - chicken and veg soup (homemade including stock)
6pm - LC bolognese and aubergine bake with Parmesan and mozzarella.

Have a portion of both meals leftover for lunches or dinners in the week as well. Feeling virtuous Halo

Thanks ReadingwithTea, I’ve got some nuts somewhere so will have a few tomorrow. I’ve been sticking to the rules but because of the hunger my thoughts have been turning to cake. And chocolate. And crisps. But I have resisted!! I’ll try increasing portion size and fat intake.
I’ve also been very tired and could happily nod off at any time during the day!

Is there such a thing as low carb toad in the hole, and if so, what is in the batter?

Only one pound off this week, but that takes me to 14lb in 3 weeks, which I'm really pleased about.

I keep seeing 'FLGV'...what does it mean?

traceyturn glad you're feeling more positive, but please don't stop sharing your feelings about your health. Our emotional, physical and psychological wellness are all so closely linked to our behaviour around eating that it's always good to vent, talk, share and most importantly seek out support from each other.
It doesn't matter whether it's an ingrowing toenail, asthma, flu, cfs, ms, pcos, fibromyalgia, diabetes, stress, depression or anything else that goes wrong with mind or body, if that "thing" is weighing heavily on You today then this is the place to come for support.

Gammeldragz genius idea posting times instead of meals

Evening all, a gain for me from a combo of not enough water, too much wine and my period which is pretty heavy this month.

I've got a cauliflower and broccoli gratin in the oven now, can't wait.
I added some crispy bacon bits too.

I am lacking inspiration lately though outwith meat/salad/omelette territory, what are people eating?

Evening, all.

Still bobbing about up and down from my precious 1lb last week, but it's more down than up, so KOKO for me, especially as (like others) more and more of my wardrobe is becoming available to me again. I am back in my favourite ever wonderful walking trousers.

One thing though.... From front on I can see I have lost weight, but side on it is still looking grim.... I seem to be losing from the outside in and I have like a ridge of fat down the centre of my body! I am 51 and periods have stopped so must be in menopause. Has anyone else seen this?

Me! I have the same ridge of fat phenomenon. Drives me mad. But it is slowly melting away so I just need to be patient...

Checking in to week 4 a pound down on last week. I don't know if it's related to this WOE but I feel so much more able to cope with all the rubbish life has to throw at me at the moment.

@Justmuddlingalong - I'm also looking for the 10 stone marker at the moment - we seem to be on a similar trajectory

seafour what you've just said there is so true. My eating is linked to all of those things. The last couple of days have been the toughest for me, actually up until now it's pretty plain sailing. I had my mirena coil replaced so probably an excess of hormones and my youngest teen is anxious over exams and general teen things so I'm upset. I'm not hungry but yesterday had what I thought was a craving but was actually just a drive to eat, nothing actually tempted me but I had this awful urge. I put together some progress collage pics since I started amd that helped a lot. I'm not actually sure if I was dealing with this a few weeks ago and not have the results I have now I'd have been able.
I'm trying to learn from it and your post really helped, I know you've your own health issues too so it's even kinder of you to try and help motivate othersFlowers

Holy crap I actually got some exercise! I find it so hard to get time, but for once I didn't get stuck volunteering for Scouts, and got 40 minutes in the pool.

Starving now and may hurry my bloody scout to bed by training him so I can finish making creamed spinach, fry some eggs and eat it.

Today's meals:
Yogurt with cream and psyillium husk (1 tsp)

Lunch was fried paneer and mushroom with green leaves, avocado, hard boiled egg and mayo

Dinner was cauliflower rice "risotto" with shallots, bacon, aubergine, mushroom, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts with a dash of soy sauce, fried in butter, with 3 strawberries and cream to follow.

Snacks coffee with cream and small bag pork scratchings.

I had a couple of airwaves chewing gums. They are high carb actually but does it count as they don't get swallowed? Sugarfree of course.

Lone we're all so good at painting on a smile and saying "I'm fine" when someone asks how we are and the result is that we just internalise our true feelings and end up comforting ourselves with food. After all we've had a lifetime of seeing food as a treat, some chocolate to cheer us up, a glass of wine because it's the answer to a hard day.
I love your idea of making a collage to motivate yourself.

I've said previously that whatever life's individual challenges we are all living a unique kind of "normal" I know that if we all chucked our stresses, challenges and health issues into the middle of the room we would choose to leave with our own rather than someone else's.

Quote from a previous bootcamp;
KOKO and next time you feel on the brink of being a carby twat, eat some meat and know that you deserve so much better than what's gone in the pastGrin
