Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - where we're KOKOing!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you

Just a reminder to you all that week 4, like its evil twin week 3, can be a difficult week where weight loss is likely to be minimal or even non-existent.

Please don't despair if you don't see any movement on the scales - this does appear to be quite normal at this point in Bootcamp.

Keep going, keep following the rules - stay away from the chocolate and bread! - particularly make sure you get enough water and fat - and you should see things get going again very soon.

Here's to a good week for us all Flowers

Thanks for the suggestions folks - hate mayo too. I'm a pain, it's the creamy, slimy texture. Have decided upon homemade lamb burgers for tomorrow as they seems very fatty but the fat is kind of hidden as it's mince! Day 4.5 here and 3 lbs down already. Is upset tummy usual? Was expecting to possibly be constipated but opposite true Sad. Perhaps it's all the olive oil? No headaches, energy dip or any side affects so very happy, not hungry either and I really have been low carb. Think

Thanks all

You know it's weird, usually by now I am absolutely starving but today I'm not!! Could it be working already or is this my mind playing tricks? I am coming around to the idea of no carbs. Have been reading up about it for a while and being on here really helps.

Looking forward to my lamb chops later!

Do you all have the same weigh in day BTW?

Waswittyonce · 08/06/2018 17:11

We do; on Mondays Smile

NorthernKnickers · 08/06/2018 17:38

Great start threedots! In the first couple of weeks do avoid g&t and wine as they are not allowed and will almost certainly stall you. It feels daunting to avoid these things but it is mostly habit that we get into. Mind. Is oooh the sun is out it must be rose wine time Blush but it can be done and from week 3vand only if you want to you can have a drink in moderation. The thing is we all react differently to this woe. For some dairy is a staller, for others alcohol etc. You just need to find your way. I was bread obsessed (making my own and eating) and I think I went into mourning about not having it, but now I am just not very interested. Good luck.

Usual grammatical cook up...Mine is...not Mind. Is

Delicious snack tonight-
Put some scraps of Emmental (which had gone a bit dry at the edges, you know what I mean).
Into the microwave for three minutes in the bottoms of those silicone cake cases, cool and turn out.
And kaboom! Cheese crisps which have filled the 'crunchy' hole, dipped in some sour cream and chives.

I was suggesting the very same to another poster on here yesterday who was missing crisps. They look lovely!

Mimosa1 · 08/06/2018 22:32

You guys, Spanish Tapas is a HFLC revelation! Just had a rare dinner out with my best friend at a Spanish restaurant. I'd been worried about how to stick to the diet but there was loads of delicious food perfect for this woe. Yum.

Titsywoo · 08/06/2018 23:30

I had the BEST dinner tonight! Stringless runner beans with pan fried mushrooms and pesto plus a burger with cheese served in cloud bread (oopsie rolls). Heavenly!

Titsywoo · 08/06/2018 23:31

Here's the runner beans and pesto. Honestly just as good as pesto pasta - if not better!

Tonight I made 6 trays of Rock Road... I did not lick a spoon or my fingers, I did not eat a marshmallow or a biccie AND I did not eat, not even one, of the many Maltesers used to top them RESULT!

BIWI · 09/06/2018 02:01

@threedots

Bare Naked Noodles are fine to eat! (They also make one called spaghetti, which I've tried, but seems exactly the same as the noodles to me).

I haven't tried the rice, as I usually don't bother replacing rice. And if ever I do want rice, I usually make cauliflower rice.

The avoidance of alcohol in the first two weeks of Bootcamp is really important. Alcohol is the easiest source of fuel for the body, so whenever you're drinking it, your body will stop burning fat, which is not what we want!

It's only two weeks although I know how hard that is! so try your best not to succumb.

@Titsywoo did you julienne the beans yourself or were they packaged like that? I haven’t really ever gotten on with courgetti for pasta dishes so I’d like to try an alternative.

NorthernKnickers · 09/06/2018 08:35

Had this for my tea last night...minus the balsamic glaze...it was so good.

prettybird · 09/06/2018 08:42

I do a yummy variant of that which is sliced avocado, sliced (room temperature) tomatoes and sliced mozzarella (stuff in brine is best) drizzled with olive oil and a squirt of lemon juice and topped with torn basil leaves.

Waswittyonce · 09/06/2018 08:43

Golly that looks lovely @NorthernKnickers, as does the runner beans pesto @Titsywoo, I love runner beans, freshly picked, lightly steamed and buttered they're divine!

NorthernKnickers · 09/06/2018 08:46

Oh that sounds good @prettybird I do love avocado!

Rshard · 09/06/2018 09:09

Some lovely food inspiration on here!

Itchyknees · 09/06/2018 09:24

So it’ll be 28 days this Monday, is that right?

Defo more energy, my teeth feel different, and I taste my food more.

MrsBertBibby · 09/06/2018 09:36
