Morning all.

So we finally reach the last week.

I feel that this Bootcamp has been a pretty successful one overall, with lots of SVs and NSVs.

Next Monday will be our final weigh-in, so there's one more week to lose some of that pesky fat.

I hope it's a good week for you all

Sorry - very long and off bc topic post there! Back on message, my favourite pork scratchings are the Awfully Posh ones in the blue packet that you can get from Waitrose/ocado

MumOfAPickle · 16/03/2018 19:00

Oh and I'm thinking of doing an egg fast next week as DH is away for the week with work. Any thoughts/advice/tips?

TerfsUp · 16/03/2018 19:07

Melanie, I find them at my local butcher.

BlackMozart · 16/03/2018 19:15

Ooh mumofapickle do keep going with the story. I was in the local raise money for the local primary school quiz’ last Saturday and there had to be count back on the joker round to decide who won...which was us!!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 16/03/2018 19:23

I'm still around and on the wagon - and I seem to have knocked off the 2lb increase and am down to 141.4lb from Monday's 143.4lb, hurrah!

MumOfAPickle I think a few of us have done egg fasts - it is very effective but it is good to try and mix up what you eat otherwise you could go mad! I did a 5 day one last summer and dropped 7lb, 5lb of which "stuck". I broadly followed the plan on this website - www.ibreatheimhungry.com/egg-fast-diet-menu-plan-low-carb-keto/

The pictures demonstrate SVs and NSVs are amazing, just goes to show you that it is most definitely not all about the number on the scales.

YoLoHogwomanay · 16/03/2018 19:27

I love a good quiz debacle gossip story!! pickle I would demand a rematch!!

prettybird Your "fattest" pics are my "now" pics after losing 44lbs. Blush My fattest pics are never to see the light of day! I'm looking forward to losing the next 44lbs....

MumOfAPickle · 16/03/2018 19:37

mozart that was pretty much it! I will update if any further developments really I'd like an apology from QM who knew pta quiz nights could be so controversial! And that I'd care so much 😂

wayof thank you, I've got that link bookmarked, will peruse over the weekend and decide

terf WHAT?!?! Pork scratchings from the butcher?? OMPorkyG I bet they're amazing

MumOfAPickle · 16/03/2018 19:45

And yes, loving seeing everyone's pics, I'm definitely not breve enough yet but if I lose more over this year then I my post some before and afters at some point

Nan0second · 16/03/2018 19:45

My pork scratchings are from Sainsbury’s! They do a 6 pack of 18g packets which is brilliant because it stops me eating 100g in one go.
Great pics everybody.
I’m on the wagon still just KOKO

BlackMozart · 16/03/2018 19:45

Sorry mumofapickle I posted but hadn’t seen your follow up!
My butcher does pork scratchings too. Yum.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 16/03/2018 20:09

Thanks, Pickle! Bet they'll have a different organising committee for the next one (if they don’t, they should!).

I used to go to one run by a friend's son. It was slightly odd, him running it for his parents' friends, (stared when he was about 11, I think) but his parents would help so it would be a good evening. Teams used to be allocated by random. I was the next youngest there, by about 30 years, and managed to be on the winning team two years in a row. The lad was very unimpressed that I’d won for the second time, and really didn’t want to give me the trophy! But I’d been the team captain both times so it was rightly mine!

Will be going off plan this evening. Half a glass of wine down, and dinner will be either pizza or pasta. I’m babysitting, and raiding their cupboards for food. I planned on bringing something with me but ended up taking it with me for lunch, and didn’t have time to sort something else out.

BlackMozart · 16/03/2018 20:27

I am most definitely off plan tonight but by choice. I am so fed up with not losing anything I just decided to stop stressing and give myself the night off. Food is in the fridge for tomorrow already and low carb so I am not intending to let this be more than 1 day off. I will keep staying connected in here but I know something needs to change. Will go to Doctor next week about a couple of things including this. If I can get on the list of the female doctor I want she is v sensible and I like her so will see what she says. I so want to get back to my wardrobe of clothes and be telling success stories like others here. Sorry for long post. Wine talking.

BIWI · 16/03/2018 20:43

BIWI not only fell off the wagon, she dragged it into the woods, set fire to it, and used the insurance money to buy cookies

Are you spying on me, @StuntNun? Grin

I'll have you know I'm very mindful.

Curious as to why so many of you are not losing and are falling off the wagon at this point? ( no judgement, just perplexed). I guess as I did this before, I know it works and now I've started it, I'm not going to stop until I've reached goal weight, which is 10 stone, so not skinny, just healthy and manageable.

I'm currently drinking a low carb Baileys after my steak and salad dinner. C'mon, 'dieting' doesn't get much better than this!

prettybird · 16/03/2018 20:53

44lb is still brilliant YoLo Flowers

And in a way, I am only prepared to post up my "before" photos because I have lost 42lb since then (and 28lb before the first pair of wedding outfit photos) and can contrast them with the "after" as motivation.

It's telling that I haven't tagged myself in the photo SIL posted of me at the wedding: I have to go into her FB timeline to find it Blush. Ditto with the picture at the church of dh and me Blush. I'm embarrassed by them - but am ok posting in this group because of the fabulous support FlowersSmile - and in the hope of inspiring others that they too can and will see progress if they stick to this WOE. Smile

Destinysdaughter · 16/03/2018 20:54

On a personal level, how I make sure I don't feel deprived on this WOE is to make low carb cakes/biscuits/desserts which I couldn't eat normally and definitely couldn't eat on any other diet. Stops me from craving other 'treats' like chips, bread, pasta etc.

SoMuchToBits · 16/03/2018 21:02

Haven't posted earlier, but only because I've been at work all day! Work v busy again. I had a prawn and avocado salad for lunch (one I made and brought in), and have just had dinner (reheated leftovers from last night's Diet Doctor recipe).

prettybird · 16/03/2018 21:24

Destiny - as a few of us have illustrated with their charts, weight loss is not linear.

And as I have recently demonstrated: it is possible to stall but still lose inches.

I think that sometimes our bodies - and minds - need time to catch up, hence periods of flat-lining or even slight rises. The important thing is that the overall trend is downwards.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 16/03/2018 21:43

Low carb baileys?! What is this?

Bluntness100 · 16/03/2018 22:03

Low carb baileys!, < pokes head up and looks around in anticipation >

I've been good today. Low carb all the way and no booze.

Which is good, since I've drunk four nights running this week. 🤣

BrassicaBabe · 16/03/2018 22:43

Oh FFS, I just fell head first into half a French Loaf of salt and pepper French stick! 😩

To be honest I'm a gnats whisker from maintenance by 2lb. So I need woman up Hmm and quit the daily wine habit!!

I now hate what the water retention scales are going to say tomorrow.

Destinysdaughter · 16/03/2018 22:45

Low carb Baileys:

Whiskey
Real coffee
Cream
Splenda
Ice

Mix together and enjoy! 😀

YoLoHogwomanay · 16/03/2018 23:36

destiny is right. What is all this wagon burning?

BIWI has gone to the dark side and I'm now living in an alternate reality. where there is a low carb Baileys Grin

Call me a purist, but what difference does your body know if you were mindful or not when you scoffed the carbs?

Someone. Anyone. Wrestle that stick off BIWI and start waving it around please.

Otherwise I'm going to carry on eating all the dark chocolate I've been eating this week and think Fuck It. And then my weight gain can be blamed on you lot. I need to be kept on the straight and narrow. And what chance have I got if everyone else is cheating and not being pulled up on it?

In my pathetic defence I've been very stressed.

Destinysdaughter · 17/03/2018 00:18

I was thinking about that quote 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' and although I don't entirely agree with it, I'd say that no carbs taste good enough to break my diet and be fat. Or summat...

What do pp need to re inspire you?

MelanieCheeks · 17/03/2018 06:47

Thanks for the tips on low carb baileys and pork scratching-my st Patrick's day is complete!

I'm doing a 10k run tomorrow-any advice on what to eat before and after?
