Celeriac recipe on Saturday cooking show on bbc1 - I will watch and share!

Kleptronic · 04/11/2017 10:26

I've got down to 10st 11lb again. I'm putting it here in case it goes back up. Again.

If it sticks I'll have lost 4lb this bootcamp, which is exciting for me cos I'm a long term bootcamper, so losses are sloooow.

I'm at BMI 22.5 and I'd like to get to 21 or 10st whichever comes first. This should be good for my height which is 5ft 9in.

I need to exercise if I'm going to get down to that weight, I am no spring chicken and I'm worried about slack skin on belly/arms. I need tone desperately. I don't do anything consistently except walk my dogs. I have a membership for the council gyms/classes. I go for about 3 weeks then stop (child care/extra curriculars usually get in the way).

How do I get some motivation to stick at it? Each time I start back it hurts. Then just as it's getting easier I stop. That is so stupid. There is something wrong with my brain!

Rshard · 04/11/2017 10:36

klep what about making going to the gym a lovember challenge? Commit to going 2 times a eeek or something? I’m just the same but when I do make time for myself it’s so worth it,

Gammeldragz · 04/11/2017 10:41

Have downloaded the app, thanks harlots Should we have a boot campers exercise thread? I don't want to clog this one up with non BC posts.

SayrraT · 04/11/2017 10:43

I made the keto waffles someone (sorry can't remember who Blush) recommend earlier.

I don't have a waffle maker so I made pancakes. They were delicious with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon and vanilla.

Having a lazy morning then heading to ride this afternoon.

Hope everyone else has a nice day Smile

A good week and 3lb down though it may have gone up by weigh in. But last night we went out and I had two drinks (and carb free tapas - cheese, ham, aubergine, prawns). I had a single gin and tonic at 7ish and a large glass of white wine at 9ish and then when lying in bed around 11.39 the room was spinning. Wow. Felt like i’d Had a whole bottle. I don’t drink much these days even pre lchf but I’m not usually quite such a lightweight. Is this normal?

Scabbersley · 04/11/2017 14:01

B: half a toasted protein roll with butter and a slice of cheese
L: aubergine curry, greek yogurt
D: cherry tomatoes, pancetta, garlic and broccoli on courgette pasta

I've drunk about a litre of water and have set the alarm on my phone to remind me to drink more.

I've also had two creamy coffees and will have a cup of tea later.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/11/2017 14:07

singadream it's absolutely normal to have a lower tolerance for alcohol when low-carbing.

Why do you think everyone goes out for a curry (naan, rice, poppadoms) after a night on the lash? Need carbs to "soak up" the excessive alcohol!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 04/11/2017 14:14

That "soak up" but wasn't science-y at all, by the way. We don't need carbs when drinking, but the tolerance is lower so just drink less than normal.

BrassicaBabe · 04/11/2017 14:21

I’m baking a fruit cake that I have no intention of eating. I’m going to live vicariously! Grin Boy, it smells good though!

HolgerDanske · 04/11/2017 14:22

Hi all! Thanks for hugs and other support!

Regarding drinking and carbs, actually it is very 'sciency' but not in terms of 'soaking up' - my daughter who is type 1 diabetic was advised by her consultant that alcohol naturally lowers blood glucose, so when she drinks she has to have a carby snack before bed and avoid taking any insulin for it, so that her bloods don't go too low. Part of that lightheaded etc feeling is likely to be that effect, although of course some of it is also to do with just getting drunk much faster.

CarbyDeadUn · 04/11/2017 14:31

I'm making jam.

How do you make jam without eating the bits you test one the saucer?

HolgerDanske · 04/11/2017 14:31

Also, @scabbersley I was on your Tiffany thread and couldn't reply as I was at work and couldn't log in.

For your daughter's age I think it would be a lovely gift from what you said, I think if you think her friends would like it that also matters at that age and Tiffany is a big name so is likely to be impressive, plus you get to enjoy the iconic box and so on.

I actually like Georg Jensen a lot (proud Dane) so would go for that for myself or someone my age. But for a young thing, I think the Tiffany one would suit and be a lovely present.

HolgerDanske · 04/11/2017 15:04

Alternatively a 'friendship' style bracelet from Monica vinader might be nice? You could engrave with initials and/or DOB. That's very popular now. Sorry, don't know how much the Tiffany piece was that you were thinking of so I don't know how it compares in price. But apparently there is a 20% sale on ATM on a certain website for today, as well.

Mimosa1 · 04/11/2017 15:20

Boo, my new low weight didn't stick around. I'm trying not to get frustrated with things slowing down. I know I'm not drinking enough water although that hasn't been an issue with weight loss to date and I'm having a bit too much dark choc. Still, I've been one degree under for a few days so I'm planning to treat myself gently.

My NSV is that I saw some lovely friends yesterday I'd not seen for a while and they both commented I was looking slimmer. I also found some smart-ish jeans, a nice cardigan, and a lovely jacket for work starting on Monday on my shopping trip.

Scabbers I'm sorry you're feeling anxious. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac myself and, my family laughing at me and rolling their eyes weirdly helps me although I don't mean to suggest for a second that having anxiety is funny. Unmumsnetty hugs to you.

Scabbersley · 04/11/2017 16:08

HolgerDanske i really liked the Georg Jensen stuff actually. Do you happen to know if it comes in a beautiful box a la Tiffany?

Mimosa1 I can usually laugh at myself. When I can't then I know things are getting a bit out of control. I've had a better day today.

singadream · 04/11/2017 16:12

Interesting re booze. I meant 11.30 of course. I wasn’t being overly precise.

HolgerDanske · 04/11/2017 16:14

I don't actually know! I haven't yet bought myself any jewellery from there (or been gifted it), just other bits and pieces. I'm sure the packaging would be understated and elegant though.

CremeDeSudo · 04/11/2017 16:22

Well I've been to a dinosaur fossil hunting event with 4yo DS and DH today with appearances from a Spinosaurus and baby Brontosaurus! Lots of fun and lovely to do something outdoors so late in the year Smile Meet two friends for food later. Thought I'd struggle with food options in the local Italian but I think I'll be fine. Honestly, this is the easiest diet ever!

For breakfast I had bacon, egg, spinach and a cheesy celeriac rosti and haven't been hungry all day! I had a Greek yoghurt only because 9am til 830pm this evening seemed far too long between meals!

HolgerDanske · 04/11/2017 16:34

Sorry forgot the sciency bit about drinking/carbs. Consultant said that's why you want carby foods when you're drunk - blood sugar gets lower and lower and it triggers those all-familiar carb cravings. Interesting how much you learn when you start having to be aware of things like that.

BrassicaBabe · 04/11/2017 16:43

Evil fruitcake is calling you to me from the kitchen. I’m hiding in the living room

Veryflummoxed · 04/11/2017 16:47

My dh has been baking/cooking all day for family get together. I will not be eating any of it other than the spicy chicken wings.
