I love this week, because this is when all the naysayers and doubters realise that this WOE really works!

(... and those who've cheated realise that that really doesn't work Wink)

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to record your first loss

I missed most of this weekend as I have my very lovely SIL staying with us, prior to her leaving for a 6 month stint in Australia. So I haven't been able to be as glued to the laptop as I am usually.

Glad to hear that some of you have reported in good losses already - I'll look forward to hearing the rest today!

Good luck everyone, for this second week. Hopefully after a good first week you'll know it's worth it Flowers

ive had an ok day.
B Scrambled egg and mushrooms in butter
L I've been batch cooking today and wasn't really hungry having tasted bits of the food.
D Paprika chicken thighs with sour cream, avocado, grated cheese and spinach. Was yum!

I'm feeling full most of the time. Occasionally I have twangs of hunger but then back to the full feeling. I'm a bit worried I'm eating way too much.

wombattoo · 16/10/2017 19:07

Welcome back Youcant

Wise words Clear

wombattoo · 16/10/2017 19:08

Monkey It doesn't sound like much tbh. Is that a typical day?

Oncewaswho · 16/10/2017 19:12

2lb loss here. I did pretty well last week but could have done better. I did ok on the carbs, but the processed stuff - too many packs of pork scratchings and four diet cokes. Going to aim for max one of each this week.

CarbyDiem · 16/10/2017 19:12

I’m impatient. I don’t like a plodding 1lb a week here and there and it going straight back on if I have a couple of glasses of red. But that’s the same with every ‘diet’ I’ve ever tried. I want it to be effortless and not to have to think about it. But that’s never going to happen.
I am committed to this for a while at least. Give it a proper go. Maybe by Christmas I’ll have some clear answers

cafeaulaitpourvous · 16/10/2017 19:19

Couldn’t even eat a quarter of a mini squash....full up!

Doubt I have put my loss at risk.......

HolgerDanske · 16/10/2017 19:24

I'm a bit like that too, Carby - not in terms of the impatience, I'm pretty chilled about that, but I have definitely accepted that if I ate the way I wanted, the way that feels most natural to me and is the most fun, I'd get bigger and bigger. I just would. I no longer wish to spend hours and hours in the gym to offset my penchant for good food and my tendency toward excess. That's just the way it is. And a 'diet' is always going to be some effort for me, because it's a struggle to keep the greedy side of me under control. But this way of life does work very well for me, in the main.

I have learnt from previous derailments that I cannot afford to start having crusty bread and cheese at all, not even once or twice, because I just love it too much, and one or two slices is never ever enough. I'm at the stage now where I'm willing never to go there again, firstly because I have to for my health, but my main motivation is that I am happiest this way. I am happiest when I can regulate my moods and when I don't feel fuzzy in my head or like my brain is having to work whilst submerged in treacle. I am also happiest when I can fit comfortably into a size 10. That's just where I feel right.

I hope you will find the right way for you. But I'm really glad you're sticking with it til Christmas, or at least until you have the courage of your convictions that you have given it your best shot.

Escapepeas · 16/10/2017 19:25

Day 8

B - Scrambled eggs with goat's cheese (I know I keep having the same thing but it's so delicious I can't help it)
L - Green salad, a small tub of mozzarella balls, prawn & crab cocktail
D - I've made a concoction with salmon, mushrooms, cream, olives and cheese which is currently in the oven. Not sure what it will be like!

Veryflummoxed · 16/10/2017 19:26

Thanks Wombat
Harlot have the cheese board as pudding

I am as hungry this morning so ate breakfast which was left over sprouts with melted butter and cheese
Lunch was tinned salmon, mixed leaves, cucumber and mayo
Dinner beef stir fry (purple sprouting, mangetout, mushrooms, baby corn, purple sprouting, cherry tomatoes )

prettybird · 16/10/2017 19:27

Carbydiem : 1-2lb a week is the healthy way to lose weight. Very few diets, barring the dangerous really faddy ones, will lose long term at a rate quicker than that.

Yes, the initial whoosh of retained water is a nice motivator on this WoE - but the long term average is 1 to 2 lb per week. I know the traget weight can seem like a long way in the future if you want to lose a lot but what's the alternative? Yoyo dieting? Going back to square one - or worse Shock each time?

at least this way, you can learn to enjoy the food you are eating (if you don't naturally) and - just as importantly - not feel hungry all the time Smile

Escapepeas · 16/10/2017 19:29

Thanks to the people with the kind words earlier when I was a bit mis about only losing 1lb. I sort of thought I might lose more, but you're all right, 1lb is good for a week and my diet has never been full of sugar. I've never done fizzy drinks, sweets or cakes and always tried to keep bread/pasta/rice consumption to a minimum so the change is possibly less drastic.

HolgerDanske · 16/10/2017 19:31

Giraffeski you could always have the sardine paté on celery and slices of cucumber. It's delicious and you don't actually need the crackers!

Scabbersley · 16/10/2017 19:38

B: nothing
L: tuna mayo lettuce radishes and cucumber
D: pork chop with spinach cooked with butter cream and garlic

I've just had a small mug of hot milk with a tea spoon of pure cocoa and a few drops of vanilla. It was lush but I think milk is Very Bad.

GrumpyOldFucker · 16/10/2017 19:43

Lunch - soup with broccoli and ham
Dinner - cauliflower rice soupy risotto with chicken, mushrooms & courgettes.
A small amount of cheese was nibbled :(

HolgerDanske · 16/10/2017 19:45

What's wrong with cheese?

HolgerDanske · 16/10/2017 19:46

Answer: Absolutely nothing (in moderation)! If a small piece was nibbled, why the sad face?

BrassicaBabe · 16/10/2017 19:46

Holger that's me too! I think I will always have to keep an eye on my WOE/diet. If left unfettered I don't have an offswitch. I'd have pringles for breakfast and a bottle of wine each evening Grin

CarbyDiem · 16/10/2017 19:49

Problem is I can do 1 or 2lbs but only if I am absolutely 100% strict. The minute I have a glass of wine or even a sodding apple I stay the same. And if I eat anything that is even vaguely higher carb then I put on and it takes weeks to get back to a 1lb loss. I think this way would work perfectly for me to maintain and keep an eye on it but I’m not sure it works for loss. I probably eat too big portions or too much cheese or something. And I can’t get into the counting and measuring and limiting or I’ll get weird about it.

What I can do is have a good bash at it for a few months. Keep an eye on what goes in. Try not to get weird and see what happens. And focus on the good bits.

CarbyDiem · 16/10/2017 19:50

Anyway.

I have had an entire day of wallowing and negativity and I have things to do and stuff to get on with so no more.

BIWI · 16/10/2017 19:53

@CarbyDiem as I said earlier in the thread, list out for me what you're eating and drinking, and let me see if there's anything obvious

L Celeriac dauphinois loads of spinach chicken and a handful of cheese. Was bloody lovely.
T chicken thigh wrapped in bacon with butter fried kale and hallumi.

Fit to burst.

CarbyDiem · 16/10/2017 19:58

BIWI. I can’t remember. I’ll keep a proper list this week.

CarbyDiem · 16/10/2017 20:02

Today.
B. Creamy coffee
L. Some chicken stick things, 2 cherry toms, a few bits of celery and 2 carrot sticks. (I was at a funeral). 2 cups of tea with milk.
D. Moussaka (mince, shallots, tinned toms, aubergine, diet doctor cheese sauce) spinach fried in butter
I’m on my 3rd litre of water.

ilovecherries · 16/10/2017 20:04

I ran again todayGrin. This makes me extraordinarily happy. I'm doing very modest run/jog intervals for 30 minutes every second day. but I am actually running!

TheMonkeysOnTheTable · 16/10/2017 20:06

wombatoo I was grazing over lunch time today and probably ate more than I realised!

I did eat biggish portions over the weekend so I'm trying to work on that. I usually just carry on and on! But I've been feeling fuller in general on this diet which is great but it's making me worried that half the food I'm eating is totally unnecessary.
