I love this week, because this is when all the naysayers and doubters realise that this WOE really works!

(... and those who've cheated realise that that really doesn't work Wink)

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to record your first loss

I missed most of this weekend as I have my very lovely SIL staying with us, prior to her leaving for a 6 month stint in Australia. So I haven't been able to be as glued to the laptop as I am usually.

Glad to hear that some of you have reported in good losses already - I'll look forward to hearing the rest today!

Good luck everyone, for this second week. Hopefully after a good first week you'll know it's worth it Flowers

B: cheese omelette. Made with three eggs buy couldn't eat it all so will do 2 next time.
L: pate, cold chicken pieces, avocado
D: two chicken thighs with skin, cream, spinach, broccoli and kale.

As it's Friday night I may treat myself to a mug of hot milk with a spoon of pure cocoa and a few drops of vanilla.

Scabbersley · 20/10/2017 19:46

I've lost count with water but I know I've drunk at least 2l

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 20/10/2017 19:46

Feel like I ought to check in and hopefully it will help me stay strong against Friday night temptations.

At least I managed to cope with work lunch at Vietnamese restaurant without too much of a fail

B- late for work so grabbed a hunk of cheese. Not the best!
L- spicy chicken noodle soup with no noodles
D- leftover Thai green curry with cauli rice.

2l water if I'm allowed to include herbal tea?

I'd put on half a lb this morning but I also haven't managed to go to the loo in a while so I'm blaming it on that. And not enough water yesterday. Hopefully it will be gone again tomorrow.

NSV- my jeans which were a bit too tight last Saturday now fit like a glove.

Well done everyone else. Stay strong tonight!

Thanks for keeping us in the loop on the health on our friend C4 . Whenever I don't see a post for a few days wonder if all is well.
If you get to speak to A or C4 please pass on love and best. Looking 4ward to hearing more for the great inspiration and observations.

RTFT as for absent minded snacking
Your not alone walked thru hotel lobby got outside a DW says what are you eating?
A cookie!!!!!! Confused

Didn't even think about it.

YoLoNovVitMe · 20/10/2017 19:47

I like the idea of Halloween name changing. But you will always be MOIST to me, carbydeadun Wink . That sounds very weird!!

Can anyone think of a good one for me? I'm bored with the obscure Latin reference. It screams pretentious rather than highbrow Blush .

YoLoNovVitMe · 20/10/2017 19:50

scabber you would be better making the hot choc with hot water and a glug of double cream instead of milk. It will taste much nicer too.

YoLoNovVitMe · 20/10/2017 19:52

And a word of advice about hormones. They go a bit crazy on BC for a while as oestrogen gets released as you lose fat. Expect a period outside of your usual cycle within 2 weeks of starting bc. It's a sign that it's working and you are losing fat. Can be a pita though as it can last longer than a week and knock your cycle off for a while.

Scabbersley · 20/10/2017 19:56

I will try the cream and hot water, thanks. The milk makes it quite sweet though without adding sugar!

blackteaplease · 20/10/2017 20:00

Is that the norm for everyone @YoLo?

I really hope not, my cycle is crazy enough from years of breastfeeding without an extra period. I was rather hoping LCHF might calm things down.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 20/10/2017 20:13

Is that why I feel like murdering everyone today? I thought it was just because they were all morons! I mean some of them were, a bit, fed ex but definitely my patience levels have been 0 today and I feel very PMSy but not due for two weeks.

Fortunately the automated phone service got the worst of it. It turns out screaming "just let me talk to a fucking person you stupid fucking thing" does bypass the incredibly circular choice system and get you some actual help Grin

ChinchillaFur · 20/10/2017 20:13

Well done everyone who has resisted temptation. There's a lot of it around every corner. I walked into our staffroom today and there were no fewer than 6 lots of cake! Big basket of muffins from Chair of Govs, 2 traybakes from the head, 2 lots of birthday cakes and another batch from a grateful parent. It's wonderful that they are all so appreciative really but I had to just grab my mail and walk straight out! Ate my cheese in my classroom!

Tried my 'thin' jeans but still a bit tight. Will koko.

cafeaulaitpourvous · 20/10/2017 20:15

Just had steak and cauliflower cheese

Was lovely

Still koko

Sending low carb hugs to C4

@AveAtqueVale

Sooo... I've been doing really well. No cheating (other than adjustments for slightly higher carbs due to breastfeeding), and have lost 9lbs. But have just inhaled a macaroon bar FOR NO REASON. Even thinking 'you'll regret this' while doing it. Wtf is wrong with me?! Can somebody give me a slap??

Well why did you do it?! Only you know the answer to that!^

Also, can I have some genuine advice for next week- I'm about to go away for a week with my mother, aka the biggest diet-saboteur in history (and in fact purchaser of the macaroon bar if memory serves). She is going to nag me all week, insist we stop in every cafe we pass, buy chocolate for DS1 at every opportunity etc etc etc. We'll also be eating at relatives' houses a lot and as I'm already coeliac and they have to cater for that I kind of feel like I need to eat what I'm given. I am planning one cheat - a trip to my favourite ice cream shop in the entire world, last visited fifteen years ago - but would like to stay mostly on plan otherwise. Any tips for broken record type phrases I can employ?^

"No thanks, I'm not hungry"
"No thanks, I just had breakfast"
"No thanks, I can't eat that because I'm coeliac"
"No thanks, I'll just have a coffee/tea"
"No thanks. But don't let me stop you"
"No thanks"
"No thanks"

And it the worst comes to the worst:

"Why do you keep trying to force me to eat things I don't want to/need to?!"

BIWI · 20/10/2017 20:25

@NutButterNutter
Baaaaaaaaalls I just mindlessly ate a piece of DS's birthday cake Slightly stale. Not worth it in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. Will drinking a tonne of water help? Shit shit shit.

Drink lots of water and if you can, do some serious exercise over the next day or so.

But more importantly, why did you do that?!

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/10/2017 20:27

@ASDismynormality
I bought a tub of Oppo, I ate the whole tub. First fail since starting this woe- ate it mindlessly straight from the tub while watching tv

At least it is relatively low carb.

But - again - why did you do that?

You didn't do it mindlessly. You knew you were doing it! What on earth possessed you?

BIWI · 20/10/2017 20:28

@Scabbersley

As it's Friday night I may treat myself to a mug of hot milk with a spoon of pure cocoa and a few drops of vanilla.

Why? This will be a lot of carbs. Why would you do this?

Yes! That's because milk has lactose in it, which is sugar! AKA carbs

OP posts:
BIWI · 20/10/2017 20:34

So, you may have noticed a common thread in my last few posts.

Why?

Why are you all cheating?

Why are you claiming 'it just happened' or 'it was mindless' or 'I didn't notice'?

OF COURSE YOU DID! OF COURSE YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE CHEATING!

Please, please stop and think what you're putting in your mouth.

We haven't even finished the first two weeks yet.

If you want a good result on the scales on Monday, this really isn't the way to go about it.

OP posts:
Escapepeas · 20/10/2017 20:40

B - Scrambled eggs
L - Japanese tofu salad
D - Salmon in cream with cheese, olives and spinach

I had a small salad as a snack too. And drank 4l of water.

prettybird · 20/10/2017 20:41

BIWI has her Big Stick out! Grin

Scabbersley · 20/10/2017 20:42

Ok @biwi

I am not cheating. I don't know much about this WOE and am learning.

I will have the choc with water and cream.

dataandspot · 20/10/2017 20:45

BIWI

Where is your favourite ice cream shop?

BIWI · 20/10/2017 20:47

What an odd question, @dataandspot!

I don't have a favourite ice cream shop. I tend not to eat stuff like that, what with it being high carb and all! Grin

dataandspot · 20/10/2017 20:48

Sorry it was AveAt that's going to the ice cream shop!
