Sorry, I'm making cookies with the DDs. Should really preview post!

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 30/09/2017 08:50

C4 i did laugh at your meat and two veg story. Sorry to hear your lungs are giving you shenanigans still.

I'm still nauseous and crampy. Feel terrible. It can't be a bug because I'm constipated more than loose. I just feel sick and waves of cramps in my bowels. Sorry tmi. I cannot identify any food thst might have disagreed with me unless it was the tiny mouthful of birthday cake I had in the week. Literally half a mouthful just to taste it.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 30/09/2017 10:26

Of course, she could just be very canny, C. I mean, there's no way that perv is going to dare to move his legs now, with Horny Old Lady on the lookout like that, and, if any of her visitors asks her why she's got you ordering a dildo catalogue for her she has fresh opportunity to embarrass him further. Brilliant tactic!

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 30/09/2017 10:57

I love pervy old lady. She reminds me of my mum. Who would then proceed to tell everybody that I had ordered her a sex toy catalogue. Blush. Cue me dying of embarassment.

I've worked in a hospital on a geriatric ward. Old man todgers are not a thing of beauty. Either they are like shrivelled dried mushrooms or droopy raw sausages with the filling removed. They are ALWAYS best kept covered up. In my experience some of the men were oblivious to the out-hanging but most got a thrill from shocking or unnerving people. The nurses were quite blase, but frail old ladies on a mixed ward often were very uncomfortable and of course visitors.

Good to hear your sats are behaving today c4.

Sorry that's a bit graphic!!

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 30/09/2017 11:06

I've lost just over 2 stone since the end of May. I'm going clothes shopping today. With toddler. Wish me luck.

I have gone from a 20/22 to an 18. I can fit some 16 tops. Not a huge difference. I'm also looking older in my face Sad .

Still have a double chin and two bellies. Long way to go yet.

I've had a clear out of fat clothes. No going back. Charity shop drop off today. My loss is their gain. See the pun there? Wink

Tummy still not right today. Wont give in to the biscuit cupboard. Just want to feel myself again rather than this gurgling cramping mess. Hey ho. Won't have time to think about it when toddler chasing in shops.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 30/09/2017 12:49

Bloody hell, DH is now not going out after all. Grr. Was really looking forward to the peace. Got nothing for tea now.

ASDismynormality · 30/09/2017 12:52

Hippa. Sorry your pans have changed, mine have too as the bloody car won't start!

Mimosa1 · 30/09/2017 15:42

Hi everyone,
I've had 3 days off the wagon and struggle to get back on track. I've had lots of the foods I've been missing - chips, bread and butter, chocolate, potatoes, fruit - and besides the latter, they are really not that delicious. I mean, nice and all, be definitely not something I can't live without. Why then did I carbytwat, do you ask? A combination of staying with family and them then staying with me and not being prepared for having house guests as it was all last minute under white sad circumstances, and also hating to waste food. I thought of you, ilove, and your 8 weeks of sticking with the rules. And I've lost 3kg and have fallen off the wagon twice - what it might be if I hadn't! Still, the knowledge that I don't actually miss that good that much is going to arm me going forward.

Great losses to so many of you and C4 your post made me laugh.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 30/09/2017 16:06

Dinner is saved, went to Morrisons for some more indigestion stuff and found a small chicken reduced to £1.89. He's just cooking at the moment so I can shred him up and use him for chicken bake, soups and salads and DD's dinner. I usually get a massive chicken, so a small one looks very lost in my roasting tray, haha!

Thiswillbemyusername · 30/09/2017 16:43

... and I've finally read the entire thread phew

Hey LCHF-ers I've signed up to do the next BC thought I'd say hi since I've already begun this WOE. I lost 2lb in two days it was quite shocking, I'm definitely a convert!

Having a day off today since I'm at a relatives and they're having a party so I can't be choosey. I'm going to use the basic rules and not have sugar in drinks, not drink too much and not be a greedy git

It's been nice reading all your posts :)

GammeldagBooks · 30/09/2017 18:34

have fallen off the wagon twice - what it might be if I hadn't!

Mimosa the exact same happens to me, I keep falling off the wagon, I don't enjoy it and feel shite when I do, but can't seem to stop myself. Makes me very cross and while the trend is downward I do think "what if I could sustainably and consistently stay on it?" Sigh. So frustrating.

Mimosa1 · 30/09/2017 21:05

Thanks OldBooks -
I'm glad you know what o mean although of course wish you didn't for your sake. back on the case tomorrow. Have loads of Lchf food in the house which is a good start.

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 30/09/2017 23:18

I had 4 McDonald's fries tonight. Blush Just had a what-the-hell moment.

First two were like manna from heaven. Next two were cold and shoved in my mouth by DC. I regret it.

On the good side I bought some PJs in Matalan in a medium. Shock horror. Medium!!! I'm so used to reaching for X large i was gob smacked. Ok they are not that loose but still! Grin this time its not fantasy. I will slim into them.

Also got some Levi jeans in TKMaxx. Haven't seen these since I was a teenager. Truth is I couldn't afford them then when they were over 100 quid for a second hand pair of 501s just to get the genuine worn-in look. I paid 30 today for a stretchy pair and they hug my bum nicely. All I need now are some white Nike hi-tops!! Haha. Anyone remember those?

Gammeldragz · 30/09/2017 23:32

I fell off the wagon rather a lot in months 2-4. After the novelty wore off and before the WOE became habit.
If I do go off plan now, it is planned (9 months in).

Went clothes shopping today, a proper session (5 hours!) and actually enjoyed it for the first time in years. Tried stuff on and it looked good!

Lunch - 2 mini cheddar cheese things
Dinner - broccoli in cheese sauce. Halloumi and Cheddar.

Another cheese heavy day. No cheese tomorrow?

c4 Glad to hear your sats are improving. Hope you are home soon.
I had to tell DH your story as I was laughing so loudly. I'm not sure he believes it! I do, having worked in elderly care. A care home I worked in, one pair were frequently found in each others beds! (Families were not amused!).

Gammeldragz · 30/09/2017 23:37

yolo we did tkmaxx and matalan today too! I got a gorgeous biker jacket in tkmaxx (xl, but about a 14) plus a top in a medium (I hate these letter sizes!) and a top from matalan - in a 12!
Another bonus is my feet do seem to have shrunk a little. Many size 8 shoes that I tried on fit, whereas last year nothing did and I had to get 9s, if I could find them. Huge victory, being able to buy shoes again!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 01/10/2017 00:30

I keep falling off the wagon, I don't enjoy it and feel shite when I do, but can't seem to stop myself. Confused

Why do you think that is, books? Hmm

Not to pick on you, by the way, but there's so much falling off wagons lately, I feel we're in the pioneer days in America. Myself included.

What's going on, guys? Is this some sort of September curse or are we just making excuses and not doing the emotional work (let alone the culinary) that's required to change our lives and way of eating.

FinallyHere · 01/10/2017 08:19

Just caught up with the whole thread [as if there ever was any other thread including C4 sex toy catalogue for the over 80's, quality entertainment] and ClearEyes question leaped out at me

r are we just making excuses and not doing the emotional work (let alone the culinary) that's required to change our lives and way of eating.

Very good point. I've been feeling virtuous at keeping low carb. and doing intermittent fasting, while serving myself ginormous portions of meat with a few veg. Had been faintly wondering why i didn't feel quite as well as i did a month or two ago on this woe and wasn't dropping any more. Am going to record a few more days worth of meals in full myfitnesspal detail (sigh) to show myself the real nutritional profile of what i have been eating.

Have had my head totally turned by buying several new outfits for weekend away with friends I've not been in touch with for ages, totally bewitched by fitting into standard high street sizes after years in 22/24. Am back on the case, though now, onwards and downwards.

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 01/10/2017 08:23

I'm going home today, my sats held up yesterday and as long as I do 13 hours out of 24 on the ventilator my consultant is happy for me to be at home.
The people I'm buying Lola from have been fantastic, they've sent me daily photos of Lola with updates about her progress.
I contacted them yesterday to say that DH would be able to collect her today and we agreed on a time, a few minutes later I got a text saying they would deliver her, it's over 100 miles and they wouldn't accept any payment for fuel.
At 4:00 pm Lola will arrive - hooray

There are so many kind people in this world, C4 is very happy, very grateful for this amazing HDU, very humbled by the dedication of the doctors and nurses who have cared for her again and ecstatic to be going home at 11:00am.

For everyone who assumed that flasher was elderly, he's in his early 50's

Smokey has been getting used to all of Lola's stuff and has been having his favourite treats in Lola's crate so that he associates it with only nice things.

Of course there is another big reason to go home, I need some Alfie Love

MOIST · 01/10/2017 08:28

C4/Wheels. That is the best news. Please try to take it easy and continue to heal at home. Bunny and Alfie are just beautiful and I am looking forward to baby Lola pics.

Don't know why or how that posted twice.

CiderwithBuda · 01/10/2017 08:43

Hi all. Just popping in to say hello and thanks for all the posts of encouragement to stick with it. I started the Blood Sugar Diet - although I'm not worrying if I go over calories a little. Feeling much better. No gurgles or bloating. Still low carb. Have hard boiled eggs for snacks etc. Am tracking on MFP. I'm going to do this until the end of the month. And am starting Sober October today! Well Sober until I go to Boston on 26th October anyway! DH will be away a lot which will help hugely.

Ilovecherries- I really liked your rule for sticking to the rules - and will bear that in mind going forward.

C4 - laughing at your meat and two veg stories and your not so innocent little old lady! And very glad you are getting to go home.
