Moist was that from having your vein removed? If not tell me who it was and I'll get him/her/it/not prepared to identify with any gender/clingon

MOIST · 27/09/2017 19:58

Grin. I shall set my Namaste Bitches on them.

FinallyHere · 27/09/2017 20:09

Goodness, I'm usually squeamish but seeing the damage done to the #namastebitches I'm getting really riled up. [fists up] where are they, them wot did this, let me at them.

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 27/09/2017 20:13

Yolo what like this one, right over the bone! To be fair I don't really find people digging around in my wrist, ankle, neck painful, I think I'm used to such high levels of pain that things like that really don't affect me. I have twice daily blood gases taken while I'm here and they don't hurt me either.

There was a chap on here yesterday who had to be sedated and then restrained to have a blood sample taken and a cannula put in. I thought they were carrying out some awful procedure on him and he had all my sympathy until I overheard a doctor saying it was the most dramatic blood sample he'd ever taken.

Blood gasses hurt like a bastard. You is hard C4.

Would a PIC line be an option? It'd save having to keep digging for poor poorly veins. But another semi permanent tube to have dangling all the time.

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 27/09/2017 20:57

Pic line might not last long enough either, they are talking about putting a permanent line in especially for the winter.
They can usually get one in but they never last more than 48 hours and then they explode, the one that went today actually had antibiotic coming up through the skin in little droplets it was fun to watch.

Anyway I haven't posted about food today

B. Nothing
L. Jacket potato with chilli and cheese
D. Salad

The lunch came from the hospital restaurant and it was lovely - I just couldn't face another hospital salad, I wanted some hot food and really fancied a jacket potato. The decision was made right after my consultant told me I wouldn't be going home anytime this week.

It's my twatty mistake, I own it and I will move on after I've eaten cake. Being here is shit and it's only September, this could happen once a month for the next six or seven months. I wasn't organised for this and that's my fault, I will get organised when I get home but I can't guarantee that I won't be rushed in the day before shopping day next time either.

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 27/09/2017 20:59

Ouch c4 i know that is sore and you have balls of steel!

MOIST you are my go-to nursing vampire for definite. Can you stage an intervention for c4 ?? Wink

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 27/09/2017 21:09

Don't worry I'm sending a taxi for moist in 48hrs when that one blows.

MOIST · 27/09/2017 21:15

I shall be chief gammeldag vein finder.

Which is somewhat ironic after losing a few of my own. Grin

littlebillie · 27/09/2017 21:57

Just watching How to stay young interesting how they described fat in litres lost wondering how to measure that with weight loss!

littlebillie · 27/09/2017 22:02

C4 get well soon 💐

Mimosa1 · 28/09/2017 00:06

C4 and Moist those are some impressive bruises! Wishing you both a speedy recovery.

C4, yy to the blog when you're feeling up to it.

Just back from my work event - really good fun and food options not too bad. Night all.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 28/09/2017 06:21

Poor you two MOIST and C4 Flowers

C4 maybe you could make your blog a hospital project? Could be something to do while you're in there?

I too am difficult to bleed. My veins are small and hide. I find my best successes come from a phlebotomist using a butterfly needle in my hand.

littlebillie we've recorded it so looking forward to watching it. I wonder what a litre equates to in lbs?

Food plan today:

L - dunno, something from ALDI. My car is in the garage today so DD2 and I are going to walk into town from the garage. There's an ALDI next to the garage, so I might get some rodillos or something.

D - heck sausages and broccoli fried rice

Gammeldragz · 28/09/2017 08:25

Finally, a little movement on the scales! Not a lot, but a new low number, I feel this is a reward for my resistance of Stollen and Toblerone yesterday.
Will eat more veg today as I didn't get much yesterday.

Regarding waist measurement, where do you measure? My natural waist (quite high as I'm long waisted) is 32", well within my target range as I'm tall. But my belly is still around 37" (has been for months, but started at over 40").

ilovecherries · 28/09/2017 08:36

I think I've had the convo about where my sodding waist is before, because it's a mystery to me! I'm probably measuring about two cms above my belly button, although that's not the slimmest bit, which is def a fair bit higher.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 28/09/2017 09:07

For waist reduction, I've heard wonderful things about hula hooping!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 28/09/2017 09:10

As for the litre to pound ratio, Mr Google tells me anything from just under 5 lbs to just over 5 lbs to almost 7 lbs per litre. Confused

MOIST · 28/09/2017 09:31

My waist is 37 inches!!!!!!!!!! Shock [fat] [not good fat]

My scales are broken but i wasn't feeling too bad until i found the tape measure. Boot camp can't come too soon. Must try harder.

FinallyHere · 28/09/2017 09:39

[waves to clear eyes]

I have a hula hoop [ must remember to do some hooping, to reap the benefit]. It is fun...I have a 'power hoop' rather than one for fancy tricks. In the summer i hooped outside, this is a reminder that i haven't word out an indoor pitch just yet.

ASDismynormality · 28/09/2017 14:44

My boobs look like deflated balloons today, I hope it means I'm going to have a whoosh and then they will look better again! Only 0.75lb to lose to get to my next big milestone so hope it is a whoosh!

Gammeldragz · 28/09/2017 15:05

ASD mine were like that a few days ago but fine today. Weird?!

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 28/09/2017 15:42

I'm going to do my measurements later. Keep bouncing between 90 and 91kg and I need a NSV. I saw 89.8 this week but was a fleeting glimpse one morning. Wish me luck.

ASDismynormality · 28/09/2017 15:44

Good luck yolo

ragz. It's happened a few times and initially I thought I was going to have awful boobs forever! Every time they have smoothed out again so am hopeful they will this time too!

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 28/09/2017 16:22

Well done ragz maybe this is the break of your stall?

Well the garage wanted to keep my car overnight, so I had a panicked massive jog/brisk walk pushing DD2 in the pushchair 4.5 miles to collect DD1 from school! Was going to run tonight but I don't think I need to now. Maybe some yoga to stretch out.
