Moist how do you make cauliflower cheese without flour? The recipes I've found say to start with a white sauce (butter flour and milk). Sorry your DH snaffled it (does sound delish though...)

Lenl · 26/09/2017 13:10

Mimosa I make cheesy leeks by melting cheese in cream, seasoning and pouring over cooked leeks then putting in the oven. I assume cauliflower cheese could be made the same way. I just haven't tried it yet.

BIWI · 26/09/2017 13:25

Yep - 300ml double cream, add as much grated cheese as you like, season with black pepper, and then heat until the cheese has melted.

Pour over cooked cauliflower and bake in the oven, with more grated cheese on top, so that the top goes nice and brown and crunchy

starsky22 · 26/09/2017 13:31

MOIST ltb! Wink

I use double cream, cream cheese, cheddar and a bit of mozzarella to make a cheese sauce for cauliflower cheese and low carb lasagne, perhaps a bit over the top in terms of cheese, but it is yummy!

Mimosa1 · 26/09/2017 13:50

Ooh thanks guys, will try it tonight as have loads of frozen cauliflower in the freezer.

MOIST · 26/09/2017 14:02

Chunk of butter. Double cream. Heat slowly. Add marscapone. Stir til melted. When bubbling add massive amount of grated cheddar.

Don't know quantities as I just chuck in what I have.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 26/09/2017 14:17

Mimosa that lamb sounds amazing. I might make it next time lamb is on offer! I could just eat some of that cauliflower cheese now as well. That's what I love about this WOE - all the food is so delicious and decadent! I'm finding my portions have definitely decreased a lot too as I'm so full from all the yummy food.

My food today:
B - scrambled egg & smoked salmon flakes (as I was running a 10k after school run)
L - homemade broccoli & stilton soup
D - got chicken salad for work

Gammeldragz · 26/09/2017 14:38

c4 you definitely need a blog! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Re the threads, I think stick with one or it will get too complicated and would seem cliquey.

My uni canteen has started doing the boiled egg and spinach pots. So I had one of those with mini pot of hummous for lunch.
Pork chops with veg for dinner.

Hey everyone

Was just writing myself a list of weight-loss rewards for motivation, i.e when I get to X weight I am going to buy the new jumper dress i've had my eye on etc
Anyway, my reward for getting in the next stone bracket down is going to be a posh advent calendar, so not a chocolate one but something else like beauty products or herbal teas. As I was searching for inspiration I came across this and thought of you guys!:

Pork scratchings advent calendar

A different bag of flavoured gammeldags for every day in December!!

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 26/09/2017 16:05

OMG. Totally just sent that link to DH! Want it!

FinallyHere · 26/09/2017 16:23
Grin

Gammeldags Advent Calendar...

MOIST · 26/09/2017 17:13

I actually need that.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 26/09/2017 17:33

They'll be wondering why they're selling out, haha!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 26/09/2017 17:54

@GailLondon thank you put in order into family for the things I want for Christmas list.

C4

With your adventures, sewing, new dog, Alfie and planned gnr starting a blog now would be great from deaths door yesterday to were ever the walk ends.

Epic writing style. Advertising revenue could buy many shoes and matching undies.

Don't tell DH but I agree with him. Was a nice jacket he bought. Halo

Llareggub · 26/09/2017 20:24

It has been just over a month now since I started this woe. Trousers most definitely looser.

Last night I dreamt of bread...woke up in a panic!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 26/09/2017 20:31

Llareggub nightmare. Confused

MOIST · 26/09/2017 20:39

Bloody mother visited and bought chocolate. Damn. Arse. Bollox.
I haven't eaten bloody chocolate since bloody may. Ive not even missed it. And now there bits this stupid tub of celebrations sitting there looking at me. Bastards

ilovecherries · 26/09/2017 20:56

Food bank box if you can stand yo have them in the house, otherwise, into the bin. PS. You are not the bin ;)

MOIST · 26/09/2017 20:59

Bloody DD opened them.
I have hidden them in the carb cupboard.

GammeldagBooks · 26/09/2017 21:06

The carb cupboard Grin

Pleased with myself for getting through a long day in London without getting a bag of 'treats' in the station for the train home. It struck me just how many food outlets there are and how many sell crap food. It might be 'artisan' but it's still full of sugar!

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 26/09/2017 21:27

the carb cupboard Grin. We have one of those too. It houses the cereal, oats, soreen bars, crisps and cereal bars for DDs.

MOIST · 26/09/2017 21:31

Yup. Cereal, biscuits, bread, cereal bars.

Also houses the wok, steamer, mixing bowls, assorted baking dishes, cake makig stuff and trifle bowls (4). I avoid it.

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 26/09/2017 22:09

I would eat those bacony crumbles grah. Yummy!

And the pork scratching calendar, wow. I could demolish that in less than advent time!

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 26/09/2017 22:13

I made a tasty dish tonight. Mixed ground almonds with peri Peri seasoning. Cut up chicken breasts. Heated oil in trying pan. Thinned Greek yoghurt with a little water. Dipped chicken strips in yoghurt then tossed in spicy ground almond mix and fried in pan. Served with broccoli cooked in a bit of katsu curry paste. So bloody tasty and I've got leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
