Either I've had too many beers or I've entered a parallel universe where trees are made from unloved toys

ilove you're not planning on heading over to Skye, are you? If, by any chance, you are, let me know. We could have a coffee (creamy, obviously!).

Am also wondering who lives in INV. Have quite possibly walked past them when I've been over there...

Thanks for the congrats! My scales have surprised me and gone down yet again this morning!!!!! Am 1lb off 1.5 stone. However, it's not totally unexpected - the scales had to catch up eventually. Was really starting to think there was something wrong with them.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I need to get a load of work done, as well as clean the animals out, and I'm going to pop down to see friends which will be a nice 5 mile bike ride. I just hope the wind doesn't get up again - it was awful overnight. Can't cope with hills and wind!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 24/09/2017 08:27

ilove just to tell you, Giraffe, at the out of town Tesco (near Pets at Home) has a menued option of bunless burger with the most wonderful salad. It does come with quinoa, mind, but I really enjoyed it. Just in case you were wanting suggestions.

littlebillie · 24/09/2017 08:41

Thanks for the new boot camp date 😃

ilovecherries · 24/09/2017 08:49

Time, not as far as Skye this time unfortunately, heading back to Lake District tomorrow. Wish I could move entire family back here permanently though, will be sad to leave again.

Finally wave to me anywhere :). I'm trying to screw up courage to ask lots of summer colour questions as I'm a bit lost but rather scared of starting threads on S&B. I feel ok with jumping in existing ones, but sometime I see people start perfectly civil innocuous threads and get slayed.

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 24/09/2017 09:15

I don't think anyone here objects to our sisterhood and Grah asking S&B questions, it's all connected to self image and everyone here understands those issues.

Gammeldagfinderonwheels · 24/09/2017 09:22

Yolo wtf indeed, the beer festival was in a disused industrial unit and the outside area has lots of weird arty stuff, this being one example. There are also about 8 caravans with one side cut off, all the insides ripped out and replaced by bench seating and tables. The venue is primarily a street food and craft beer and micro brewery outlet. I think it's only open once a week.

HippadoppaloppaGammeldag · 24/09/2017 09:47

BIWI are those of us doing IF in these threads allowed to still skip breakfast on official bootcamp? I'm finding it's really working for me.

FinallyHere · 24/09/2017 09:59

Grin ilovecherries Have you found the facebook groups on Facebook? I can't remember whether you did HofC or CMB, there are different groups (only because they use the language from each). Once you are comfortable with your own colour/style, it's not difficult to work out what you would be under another system which uses slightly different words for the analysis and the actual colours...

Try searching for your 'diagnosis' and all sorts will pop up on facebook. For example, I am a soft, blue autumn, natural gamine, sure there will be summer groups. Ah just spotted, if they say summer it was probably HofC, which is the one i find more intuitive...[oops, specialist subject alert. I'm great at it all in theory, soooo much less confident aces with any particular garment...]

RaininSummer · 24/09/2017 10:05

Yeahh for bootcamp. I have been sticking to lite plan but I think too much cream and too little water along with dark choc have made the scales stick a bit.

FinallyHere · 24/09/2017 10:05

Hurriedly returns back on topic.. please sign me up for bootcamp again, yes, please, thank you very kindly. As before I'll record start and finish weights, to see the trend and free myself from any fluctuation misery.

I am in awe of anyone who can track their daily ups and downs without going off the rails.

Note to self I'm really enjoying this woe, this year am very glad to say 'again'. Previous years I signed up and fell off the waggon pretty quickly. This year has been different (hat tip stuntnun) and I'm koko-ing between bootcamps (and loving this thread, such an interesting and supportive community).

ilovecherries · 24/09/2017 10:57

I did HoC, Finally but as I've read other's experiences, I suspect my stylist wasn't very good. It was extremely rushed, questions pushed off, and although she said 'summer!' I didn't even realise till we'd left that there was different types within each season. I'm feeling a bit lost with it.

BIWI · 24/09/2017 11:03

@HippadoppaloppaGammeldag absolutely you can. I'm going to amend the first rule slightly to reflect that - if you're already low carbing then there's no need to go to three meals a day.

I'm finding that no breakfast is becoming an easy habit - which it should be, really, because for years and years and years (i.e. when I was effortlessly slim!) I never ate breakfast anyway!

BIWI · 24/09/2017 11:06

Just a word of warning advice to you all - when I start the next Bootcamp, it will have a very different feel. Not because I will be doing anything different, but just because there will be a whole load of new/different people and this inevitably changes the feeling and dynamics of the whole thing.

Of all the Bootcamps I've run, I think this one has probably been the most supportive, and - from this side of the keyboard - it really feels like a little community. It's not always like that! One Bootcamp I nearly abandoned it in week 1! Grin

They do settle down - generally by week 3 lots of people have dropped out - and hopefully the next one will just build on this one.

But whatever happens, I hope you'll all join and give the newbies the benefit of your knowledge and (most importantly) your experiences of low carbing.

Veryflummoxed · 24/09/2017 11:17

Is anyone else hungrier now the temperature's dropped. I'm back to eating three meals some days. (But it may be I'm not drinking enough water)I think I too am going to have to egg fast again.

Brian? moistGrin

BIWI thanks for the new boot camp

CiderwithBuda · 24/09/2017 11:29

Morning all. Sorry I've not been around the last few days. I'm sure you all missed me! Wink

Thursday's carb/wine twattery has sort of continued. Certainly the wine! Food wise not too bad but I have had carby bits here and there. And I have to say I feel better in myself for it. Which is a worry. I feel less sluggish and bloated. It's hard to explain really. I've not gone mad. No bread other than a tortilla wrap.

Read a little this morning on an alkaline version of the Keto diet which I'm going to read a bit more about. And I also have a couple of books on Healing the Gut. I have the Michael Mosley one and one by Jeannette Hyde. I'm quite interested in learning more about that aspect of nutrition.

A few years ago I did a DNA diet test and the results recommended a Mediterranean diet for me but said I wasn't carb sensitive. I was a bit sceptical. I have the Michael Mosley Blood Sugar diet book and recipe book so I will try food from them to see if I feel better on low carb Mediterranean rather than just low carb.

The Jeannette Hyde book is a four week plan which cuts out foods and then reintroduces them. And is based on foods that contribute to Gut health. I'm going to have a good read of it this afternoon and see how it could fit with low carbing.

Interested to hear any thoughts or experiences from anyone on here regarding the Gut health stuff or just not feeling right on low carb and if and how they sorted it.

Gammeldragz · 24/09/2017 12:10

cider I read the Moseley book on gut health. Interesting. Not sure I took much from it, especially as I'm focussed on LC anyway, but I should reread it and see if there are any changes I could make that may help mu weight loss.

Up a pound again today. For no discernible reason. I am thoroughly fed up now, having stalled for a month. I may have to start tracking calories on MFP just to make sure I'm not over eating. I don't feel like I am... I managed to get to just under the top end of healthy BMI and now I'm stuck here. I need another 20lbs off! Must come up with a good strategy for next bootcamp...

Brunch was bacon, cheese, salad and mayo.
Dinner will be something with chicken thighs and veg. Maybe a roast type effort...

FinallyHere · 24/09/2017 12:22

Thank you for the reminder, BIWI that we are starting a new cycle of 'building a team'

I googles to find an image and discovered that my goto model is Tucker's.

When newbies join, we will want them to feel welcome...

FinallyHere · 24/09/2017 12:35

Oh, ilovecherries having someone to chat to about it, really helped me. A dear, good friend went through the process around the same time as me. We were physically very different, suiting opposite colours and styles. it really helped to understand the advice we were each given, by imaging the same thing on a different body, to see how it would help, or hinder.

For example, she was very tall, I am notably not. She was advised (in style) to wear bright, high contrast colours, while my best colours are all muted.

There is a 'house of colour autumn' facebook group, and an official 'house of colour' group, which might be some help. So sorry you haven't had a great experience so far...lets hope we can get some ideas for support. I tended to forget about it all, when i couldn't fit into any nice clothes, and have found my interest come surging back again as i have rediscovered my figure.

Many thanks, everyone in. Bootcamps past, present & future.

wotabastard · 24/09/2017 12:52
