MOIST Get well soon. Hope you're not feeling too rough Thanks

I can't help but notice that some of us do not seem to be eating enough veg Wink

Thanks. I am bored with feeling peculiar (24 hours in) and tired and grumpy.

StuntNun · 20/09/2017 19:26

Grimbles it is possible for a thyroid issue to not show up on standard blood tests. Regardless if you keep following Bootcamp then it will work. The best thing is to keep posting your meals and asking for feedback.

ilovecherries · 20/09/2017 19:36

Mmmm. Hot spiced mince on a vast bed of sautéed cabbage and spring greens. I think my mum is coping with my food foibles because it is catering to her long held belief that a large daily consumption of dark green leafy vegetables are next to godliness.

ilovecherries · 20/09/2017 19:47

is next, obviously. Wish you could edit posts.

Ftumch · 20/09/2017 19:48

I just had fathead pizza.... omg it is amazeballs, like actual pizza. I only managed a slice and a half with cheese coleslaw, it was really filling!

GammeldagBooks · 20/09/2017 20:12

Grimbles I am similar, family history of thyroid problems, very low bbt when tracking it to ttc, more overweight than diet would suggest I should be. Tests show no concerns. But a nutritionist I saw told me that if the cut-off for treatment is, say, a test result of 90 and your results come back 88 the GP will still tell you all is well.

Regarding not eating enough veg, I am struggling with this as I am just not that hungry. Today I have had
B - warm almond milk
L - 2 eggs scrambled with cheese and butter
T - 1 aubergine fried in EVOO with melted cream cheese
S - 2 slices of cheddar

Hmmm looking at that I need to add something to my lunch and I could snack on veg like celery

wombattoo · 20/09/2017 20:12

Ftumch Which recipe did you use? I've been intending trying it for years but never got round to it.

The recipe was from ditchthecarbs.com The dough was a bit too sticky so I added a few more ground almonds. It was sooo good! I think I'm going to try making nachos with the same dough next time.

Grimbles · 20/09/2017 20:39

Wombat too, I eat plenty of vegetables?

Grimbles · 20/09/2017 20:59

L. Bacon and mushrooms
S. Pork Scratchings
D. Sausage casserole made with a bit of tomato passata, leeks and mushrooms

Was unwell this morning so went back to bed after having a creamy coffee so didn't eat breakfast. Have had a couple more coffees and about 2.5l water so far.

C4pinkwheels · 20/09/2017 21:16

What's this trickery, I do believe that the person formally known as Oldbooks has had the audacity to bastardise her name by becoming Gammeldagbooks

In the land of Hi Fatlow Carb it is written by the higher being known as BIWI that anyone who takes the name of a sacred food shall abstain from chocolate, fathead pizza, wine and all treats for a period of two months.

GammeldagBooks · 20/09/2017 21:20

C4 Grin if it is so decreed then I humbly accept the judgement of the high priestesses of Hi Fatlow Carb and shall abstain from wine, chocolate and fathead pizza Grin

But I am keeping my new name

Veryflummoxed · 20/09/2017 21:44

Veryflummoxed · 20/09/2017 21:46

Sorry I'll try that again

Just caught up after several days absence from the thread. Have read everything. All I can say is Gammeldags.

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 21:48

C4 - sounds like we are the same age. You have definitely had an eventful life so far! They say everyone has a book in them - I reckon you have at least enough for a trilogy!

A bit of a win for me tonight. Was cooking and DH offered me a drink but I said no and he suggested abstaining completely would be hard and I should maybe have two nights off but then let myself have a glass or two of wine and then another two nights off etc. I said yes I might have one or two. But when it came to it I didn't bother. Figured I would much prefer to see a loss on the scales than have wine. So lots more water and a mug of peppermint tea for me.

Food today

B - a Babybel
L - chicken and avocado salad with four cherry toms, stuffed peppadews, mayo and oil
S - two salami/cheese thingies from M&S
D - Cajun chicken breast with leeks, mushrooms and spring greens with whole grain mustard, creme fraiche and butter. Very yummy

Tummy is bloated and gurgly. Feeling a bit bunged up.

FruitCider · 20/09/2017 21:50

My bday cake ran out at lunch time, which means diet has started! Had VLCD shake for tea and some halloumi cheese to try and convince my belly I had had dinner. Not looking forward to the hunger tomorrow!

C4pinkwheels · 20/09/2017 22:10

Fruticider if you eat enough fat you shouldn't feel hungry.

GammeldagBooks · 20/09/2017 22:12

Fruit this woe isn't about feeling hungry or deprived, that's the beauty of it and why it is easier to stick to. Fill up on lots of salads drenched in oil, or boiled eggs mashed with butter

ragz134 · 20/09/2017 22:27

I survived IKEA! (Where is my T-shirt?) Dinner was piri piri chicken with salad leaves and mayo. It was okay, not worth the £6.45 I paid for it! Skipped the chips and peas that came with it and asked for salad instead - no, I had to pay extra for salad! Only had bloody leaves (£1.50!). Angry Clearly I had been misled about the cheapness of IKEA... To console myself I had half a slice of Daim cake - gave half to DH, I actually intended to eat it all, so I should gain some points there?

So, today's food
11am - bacon, cavolo Nero, feta stuffed spicy peppers
2:45pm - Greek yog, cream and cinnamon
6pm - piri piri chicken quarter, salad leaves, 1/2 slice daim cake (14g carbs, could be worse)

YoLoGammelZammoDag · 20/09/2017 23:26

Bloody hell C4 !! That's some life experience you've had. You are most certainly a survivor. Your PA sounds fab.
Thanks for your advice about my current issues. You are absolutely right.

moist well done on getting the vein done. One op down, just one to go. Look after yourself.

I don't really drink. And only have a couple of times on this WOE. cider i wonder whether you just have a habit, a lifestyle routine? And i wonder whether your DH just wants you to keep him company while he continues in the old ways and you have found a new healthier way of living? Beware of sabotage! You've made great first steps to break the habit. Koko!

I have a confession. Today while walking the dog i ate a few shitload of wild blackberries and a wild apple from a tree. First fruit in ages. And I'm not even sorry. They were delicious. Grin

Was better with water today. Much better than the last week.

Gammeldragz · 20/09/2017 23:47

cider well done on the restraint (maybe your name change should be sodawithbudda ;) ) My DH drinks every evening, (used to be cider but he's switched to vodka/gin and soda) and I did fall into the habit of buying wine every week - I didn't need it but felt that if he was having a treat I wanted one too! Now I treat myself in other ways and don't miss the weekend wine.
ftumch I made fathead pizza using half coconut flour and half ground almond, very good texture and held together well. Only very slight hint of coconut. I'm making it tomorrow or Friday...
moist hope you're feeling better tomorrow. Take it easy, it isn't just the drugs in surgery but the trauma your body perceives and that wipes you out too. Rest and heal Flowers

GrumpyOldFucker · 21/09/2017 05:39

Moist, I was feeling a bit fed up and made a chicken and aubergine curry last night, the trick being to reduce loads of chicken stock so that it’s really meaty. It was a good comfort dish.

C4, I’d read that book (of your life) too!

What a shame about cashew milk. Will use what I have and do better research next time. I only have two coffees with milk a day anyway.

Yesterday was
B: 2 coffees
L: crayfish salad with chilli mayo
D: chicken and aubergine curry

Don’t really feel I’m kicking into low carb lack of hunger yet, which is disappointing, so the mornings without food are hard.

Namaste Bitches

Namaste Gammeldagets

There are strange things happening in our community, there are many people wishing to be sent on missions and pilgrimages me thinks.
