Parmasean crisps?

ilovecherries · 20/09/2017 10:43

Or home made chicken and leek soup.

MOIST · 20/09/2017 10:48

I'm too stoned to make stuff. And standing up hurts.
Will send someone to get cheese and salami and starwabs and cream. And not the loaf of white sliced I put on the shopping list.

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 10:52

Step away from the white sliced shit! Carefully obviously. Don't hurt yourself.

C4pinkwheels · 20/09/2017 11:35

Moist, no white sliced shit please, lots of bit to nibble on, protein is the thing your body needs to repair damage so lots of meaty snacks please. Take care enjoy the feeling stoned bit, it's probably what I feel all the time.

StuntGammelNunDags · 20/09/2017 12:06

It had to be done. Grin

Mimosa1 · 20/09/2017 12:15

Moist, I hope you feel better soon. I like those triangles of Laughing cow as a treat.

Well for those of you worried about weight fluctuations, I've swung 1.4kg in 10 bloody minutes this morning. 1 cup of tea in between but surely can't have made that much of a difference.
I was so excited about being under 82kg/14 stone i checked twice, came back 10mn later and over it again. Aaargh.

DH has been complaining that he's plumping up on this woe, because he'll have what I'm having plus carbs, e.g. Scrambled eggs and bacon (for both of us) plus tator tots for him, or roast duck and veggies + roast potatoes for him. We're going to talk about him joining me on this woe tonight, would be great to have us both do it, although he is not overweight, he wants to lose a few pounds.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 20/09/2017 13:11

Just back from hols and trying to catch up.

Holiday was quite carby - wine, crackers etc and I now look 4 months pregnant with my carb baby! It's been absolute proof for me that carbs are the cause of my weight gain. I won't ever be as slim as I want to be if I regularly eat too many. Lesson learned.

Stunt Grin

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 13:43

Stunt! Grin

I quite fancy NamasteBitches. It has a certain ring to it. But won't steal it from who ever coined it.

StuntNun · 20/09/2017 14:06

Twas Jiminny that coined Namaste Bitches.

GailLondon · 20/09/2017 14:20

Hey everyone,

Just wondering your opinions on alcohol
Are people abstaining completely? I'm having about 2-3 glasses of wine a week and logging it (and all my food) on my fitness pal to make sure my daily carbs are ok.
I was preparing the weekly online shopping order and noticed that Tesco have a new low(ish) carb beer called 'skinny lager' with only 2.97g of carbs per 330mL bottle much lower than other beers.
What do you guys think, ok occasionally, or a recipe for weight loss stalling?

skinny lager nutritional info

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 14:33

I'm trying to abstain Gail. Not always successfully! The times I have been successful at losing weight I have cut way back on alcohol. So I think it depends on how much you drink really. The body will burn alcohol first as fuel rather than fat and I want that fat burnt to a crisp!

ilovecherries · 20/09/2017 14:41

Ive gone for total abstention, and I do believe it's made things much easier. We've had two significant birthday celebrations, a big wedding anniversary and two holidays this year - all dry.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 20/09/2017 14:45

MOIST the Tesco antipasti that's always on 3 for fiver is delicious stuff. There's rodillos, olive, cheese & tomato skewers, selection of italian meat & cheese, prawns & sundried toms in an oily sauce thing. How about cheese crisps / exploded babybels? Or celery used as a spoon for pate? What I really like which is ming is spreading loads of salted butter on sharp cheddar.

Stunt buahahahahahahahaha brilliant! Glitterball Grin

Gail I don't really drink anyway, but I am consciously abstaining now. I plan to drink on a mum's night out on October 9th and then not again until Christmas.

My food has been a bit haywire today as I've been out. Planned ahead & went to aldi to get rodillos for lunch, so had them. Then came home just now & I was starving so scoffed a couple of chicken wings. Still feel peckish, but probably because there wasn't really any fat in there! Planning salmon & salad for tea with lots of mayo.

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 14:49

I've got a sharpish pain in my stomach and am panicking it might be start of gall stones after reading upthread! It's not constant but came on after I had my lunch of chicken and avocado salad with lots of mayo and oil. I'm probably being daft.

C4pinkwheels · 20/09/2017 15:54

Cider sorry to hear your in pain, gallbladder pain is very specific, you feel it in the upper right side of your abdomen. It can travel around to your side and back and the source is often felt under the ribs.

Gail I have been booze free for most of this year mainly for health reasons and because they don't let you drink in the high dependency unit. Obviously I fell off the wagon in spectacular style this weekend, I don't normally consume my own blood volume in alcohol on a Saturday night.
I agree that it makes this woe easier somehow, if you're going to limit yourself to just one glass it hardly seems worth it, just have fizzy water with a slice of lemon.

Oldbooks I know it comes across as blasè but it's just the everyday reality of living with respiratory failure. It can happen anytime, anyplace and does numerous times each day and night.
If I stopped going out, just in case or to spare people the trauma of witnessing it I would be pretty miserable.

I am beyond shattered- I can barely keep my eyes open today, the price to pay for my wild antics in Denmark.

Today I have eaten:

2 creamy coffees
2 baby bel
3 slices of cheddar

My PA has just done a quick supermarket shop for me so dinner will be:

Chicken stuffed with mozzarella and fresh herbs and roasted with some green pesto.

Trying to drink lots of water to flush the toxins from my liver body

ragz134 · 20/09/2017 16:12

Alcohol - I drink maybe twice a month. Had one glass of wine this week and two drinks at the wedding a few weeks ago. I try to avoid it.

I'm off to lose my IKEA virginity this evening, 80min drive plus kids and DH to feed in the cafe. They won't have anything low carb, will they? I don't need meatballs and Diam cake, do I?

StuntNun · 20/09/2017 16:14

Ragz last time I was there Ikea had a very nice smoked salmon salad.

ragz134 · 20/09/2017 16:29

stunt I hate smoked salmon Confused (that's my yuck face lol)

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 16:33

C4 - it was left side. Phew!

I'm not surprised you are shattered. Lots of water and lots of rest sounds like a plan.

Ragz - Ikea virginity? Wow. Have fun.

BIWI · 20/09/2017 17:18

Just diving into this thread to post this piece

Not much use for you, Grah, but for all those of us over 40 it's really interesting!

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 20/09/2017 18:24

ragz I had salad at Ikea. There was ham & egg salad if I recall. I'm sure they did salmon fillet with dill sauce as well, but they had run out by the time I got there.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 20/09/2017 18:27

Flowers for MOIST'S vein. Wink (Hope you're recovering well.)

C4 is your PA similar to a carer or are you unbelievably wealthy and able to employ one? Your weekend sounded great.

ragz I'm stunned you have an IKEA cherry. I thought everyone on planet earth over the age of 17 had endured the warehouse at least once (and owned at least one item).

I've swung 1.4kg in 10 bloody minutes this morning. 1 cup of tea in between but surely can't have made that much of a difference.

Mimosa I once famously (on my head) had a poo yet gained a pound on a weigh-in day. 'Twas infuriating but taught me the mercurial nature of weight fluctuations.

Re low carb beer, I wonder if that's Bethenny Frankel's Skinny brand. I'll go buy some at some point because if one absolutely must have a lager, it's surely better to have 2.97 (love the specificity) carbs rather than 14 carbs.

I purchased inexpensive leggings and jeggings Hmm today. Haven't tried them on yet, just happy about the idea of wearing leggings in boots this winter. It's a look I haven't tried for at least three years.

Namaste, Bitches.

Grimbles · 20/09/2017 18:46

Stuntnun, I've long suspected I may have a thyroid problem - my weight seems to be a lot more than it should be based on what I ate, and I have a low bbt (I have tracked my ov.by temperature for the last few years). Also my maternal grandmother and aunt both have underactive thyroids. Blood tests come back negative though.
