cleareyes that's exactly how I feel. I get to a weight I feel good at (which is still obese) and I almost think that I don't need to try anymore.

I don't know why, but you are not the only one.

My good friend who is Danish just got engaged....I'm hoping I'll be having a c4 Danish wedding experience in the next few years Grin

OldBooks · 19/09/2017 19:59

Cleareyes I have been struggling to stick to WOE and I think it's for the same reasons, I was pinning a lot on the holiday and now that's done I am finding it hard to get back into it. Still 95% on it, just carb creep or a biscuit here and there. Cross with myself for it. Will be making more effort.

Having said that today was one of those days at work and I got to 4pm on 2 slices of cheese. Unheard of back in carby days. Amazing how much effect the woe has had on blood chemistry

OldBooks · 19/09/2017 20:02

Also is anyone else tempted to change their MN name to Gammeldags?

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 19/09/2017 20:26

OMG I never thought of that!! Grin

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 19/09/2017 20:26

Or NamasteBitch but I was waiting for C4 to do that!

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 19/09/2017 20:27

We could all be Gammeldag1 Gammeldag2 etc, confuse the hell out of Mumsnet! Grin

twinklestar2 · 19/09/2017 20:34

Thank you wombat for the mention. I am reading, succumbing to the odd carb but trying to get back into it.

Big food shop done today full of lovely low carb stuff so menu planned for tomorrow -

Eggs

Chicken and salad with olives

Dinner is mousakka

Have brought some dark chocolate, cream and berrries for those craving moments.

Let's do this!

ragz134 · 19/09/2017 21:12

There's such a thing as too much Celeriac Gratin, isn't there? I may have just eaten an entire serving as an evening snack Blush
Otherwise, a pretty good day, WOE wise.

10:30am - 2 boiled eggs, spinach salad and Caeser dressing.
5:15pm - chicken, cavolo nero and celeriac gratin.
9pm - bowlful of celeriac gratin. My stomach isn't entirely comfortable now...

wotabastard · 19/09/2017 21:14

Hullo chaps. Just a KOKO check in from me. Feeling svelte(r) but unsure of weight. Good times!

It's a month this week since I started this woe so I'm indulging in a delicious glass of dry champagne and some parmesan crisps while I watch bake off with dd.

The parmesan crisps are off the freaking chain. Dd is demanding I make a fresh batch for her packed lunch tomorrow. Not on your nelly, love. Grin

B: 3 eggs, steamed broccoli, butter and cheese
L: small portion tomato, mozzarella, basil salad w/ lots of evoo and sea salt. Hnggg.
D: mackerel fillet, rocket, gorgonzola, mozz, salami, and evoo. So much yum.
S: parmesan crisps and glass of champers. Woo! Rarely drink and feeling tiddly off 125 ml. Grin

C4pinkwheels · 19/09/2017 21:52

Ah ''tis disciple Oldbooks's of the House of Fractious toddlers.
From whence did you receive this vision of naming mortals after the sacred Gammeldags.

Good grief my mind even scares me sometimes, I come out with some real shit at times, do you think alcohol has something to do with it?

Actually I'm pretty impressed Oldbooks i didn't even think of changing my name to Gammeldags or namaste Bitch but that would feel like stealing jiminny's name.

We could be Gammeldag + a variation of our current name:
OldGammeldagbook
Pinkgammeldagonwheels
Twinkledag

Well what a disgrace I turned out to be the big question is do I weigh in the morning or wait a few days?

I fell asleep on the plane and freaked a few people out because I stopped breathing and the ventilator couldn't restart me because of the pressure in the cabin. DH was quite slick apparently, turned the oxygen up, told the bloke in the seat next to him to move so that he could grab the resuscitation kit and hey presto back in the room.

ilovecherries · 19/09/2017 22:13

Actually, I don't think I could stand it if you all called yourself Danish pork scratchings. There is not much I haven't been able to eat in my life (lard arse bring proof of this) but pork scratchings make me gag. I tried to like them when we started bootcamp, but yuck, the texture :(. They are either tooth breaking or gloopy. Boak.

OldBooks · 19/09/2017 22:16

You sound so blasé about it C4!

House of Fractious Toddlers, too bloody right, baby kept me up till 2.30 last night Confused I am zombie woman now!

Gammeldags means old fashioned according to Grah so I could be just GammeldagsBooks

starsky22 · 19/09/2017 22:25

Exhausted today after DS2 was awake crying for over an hour last and couldn't settle him, usually that would be an excuse to eat everything in sight to feel better, but was happy to stick to this woe today. Although decided to treat myself to scallops for dinner as I couldn't have the kids pizza.

I have also set myself staggered targets, so that as soon as I meet one, I am then working towards the next. Currently 5lbs away from my second target of 10st, hoping I can get there by the Oct half-term.

B fasting
L sausage, mushroom & spinach frittata
Snack - pepperoni (off the kids pizza!)
D roasted asparagus, chorizo and scallops

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 19/09/2017 23:22

Ahhh scallops, not had them for time!! I need to get some!

ilove the mushy ones are my favourites!

Montypulciano · 20/09/2017 05:40

Morning! Am reading but struggling to post as very busy at work. Had wine at the weekend for my birthday but back on it now.

KOKO, everyone Smile

HammerToFall · 20/09/2017 06:33

I wasn't on the last boot camp, but I was on the one before that. I've been slipping recently and have started back on it today so I'm joining the thread for motivation Smile

GrumpyOldFucker · 20/09/2017 06:40

Morning all. Is cashew milk a good substitute for cow's? Looks massively lower carb to me and I like it in coffee.

I shall now be GrumpyOldGammeldag.

B: one coffee with cream, one with milk (boo, but cashew milk is delivered today, I hope it gets the green light)
L: quail's egg salad
D: grilled squid with guacamole
.

StuntNun · 20/09/2017 07:57

Shiraz in my opinion you can count tea towards your fluid intake so long as there's lots of water too. If you're getting almost all your fluid from tea then that might not work.

Grimbles some people seem to need to go through a healing process before weight loss starts. Do you have any hormonal or thyroid issues or have you been on a reduced calorie diet recently? Making sure you're drinking the water and getting plenty of fat is often the best way to kickstart weight loss.

Grumpy unsweetened cashew milk is higher in carbs than some of the alternative milks but still lower than moo juice cows milk. I personally favour Almond Breeze Fresh Unsweetened, I don't like the flavour of the other brands so much.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 20/09/2017 08:14

Grumpy I think cashews are high carb nuts. I use almond in my tea and hazelnut in my coffee.

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 09:07

Morning all.

Have I mentioned that you lot talk a lot and I can't keep up?! Grin

C4 - I'm sure you terrified people! Thank God DH was on the ball.

Reasonable day food wise yesterday.

B - two eggs scrambled with butter
L - broccoli pea and pesto soup
S - nuts
D - cottage pie with celeriac mash spoonful of peas and spoonful of red cabbage.

Actually looking back it's a bit carby! Whoops.

But no wine which was good. Water and peppermint tea.

I was shattered last night so went to bed at 8.30. Switched light out at 9.15 and conked out. Woke up after what seemed like hours as I needed the loo. It was 10.10. Then I couldn't get back to sleep. If I didn't know better I would think I had had msg or something. Feet were itchy. I couldn't stay still. Mind was racing. Fell asleep again eventually. Most odd though.

Scales aren't being particularly co-operative. Carby/wine weekend gain still there. Off to spinning shortly and will drink lots more water today.

This is normally the stage when I panic about not losing as I have a trip coming up and really want to lose lots before it so: I try something drastic which doesn't work as I can't stick to it and then I eat everything and anything and go off the rails completely. I really need to not do that this time.

SayrraT · 20/09/2017 10:01

Just been asked to go with my boss to a fancy dinner tonight! The colleague who was supposed to be going is unwell. Quite excited, I might have to post dress options later (no dress code on the invite though!).

MOIST · 20/09/2017 10:13

Any tips for post surgery comfort food?
Had my vein done yesterday. Still beyond stoned and in serious need of nice nibbles.

MOIST · 20/09/2017 10:14

I want crisps and hummus and popcorn and toast.

CiderwithBuda · 20/09/2017 10:35

Not sure MOIST. What's your favourite low carb treat? You know the one that people look at you in horror and say "surely you can't eat that if you are dieting?' Mine would probably be a few strawberries with extra thick cream. Or some nice cheese.

ilovecherries · 20/09/2017 10:37

Moist, did it go ok? Scrambled eggs are my comfort food. Or coffee with cream. And internet shopping. ;)
