Here's the Spreadsheet for its last outing this Bootcamp

We'll keep this chat thread going, and when it finishes, we'll start a new one so that we can keep the support going until next Bootcamp.

Good morning thanks for all your words of encouragement. in the face a adversity. I survived my first night fairly unscathed!! I did start to feel like a broken record - repeating myself endlessly. I think my BIL sees it as I'm rejecting his hospitality. He's got loads of health issues and has refused to change his diet or lifestyle despite being told to by hospital consultants. He drinks like a fish and was trying to top up my oh's glass all night - my oh just tells him straight - no!! I think Bil has convinced himself he might as well enjoy life and die happy and die young. I see too many people lying incapacitated by chronic illness and Alzheimer's in my mums nursing home to believe that.
Oh well, let's be happy 😊 ! Today looks sunny. My carb flu has virtually gone

OldBooks · 12/08/2017 09:59

oatcakes my godfather is like that, was diagnosed with diabetes but still puts 6 sugars in his tea (not exaggerating), drinks loads of spirits etc. He nearly lost a leg last year but he doesn't seem to care. Makes me Angry

Well done on sticking to it! They will get used to it and you are doing the right thing for YOU.

ragz134 · 12/08/2017 10:20

Oldbooks yes your insulin resistance should improve if you stay on this WOE. Though it may always be slightly higher than some people's.
Interesting article about it here www.marksdailyapple.com/25-ways-to-improve-your-insulin-sensitivity/

L238 · 12/08/2017 11:28

NSV here this morning. I stopped wearing jeans last year since they were pretty much all too tight. Grabbed a pair this morning because it's chilly here and they're not just fitting but loose Grin
My weight is more or less the same as last week (up .4lb) but that's expected as had some carbs last weekend. DP is away next week so may do an egg fast since a lot of people seem to have had success with it

GaleBeaufort · 12/08/2017 11:40

Morning all. I'm feeling a bit nauseous today, I think I may need to cut back on the fat a bit. I got on the scales this morning and I weighed 16st8 1/4, so that's 4 1/2lbs off since Tuesday which is great. Since I started this WOE I've had no heartburn or abdo pains, I'm pretty sure I was developing some kind of wheat intolerance.

Veryflummoxed · 12/08/2017 12:39

Gale this woe cured my indigestion as well.

Well I've started the egg fast. Three fried eggs in two tbspoons butter and a blob of olive oil for brunch. I'm intending to have a butter fried omelette tonight with some cheese in. It was interesting reading that egg fast link and relationship between eggs and improved liver function.

ASDismynormality · 12/08/2017 12:41

OldBooks. Eating low carb will reduce the insulin resistance. For example I'm no longer insulin resistant/pre diabetic after losing 6 stone and 6 months of low carb. I do think I will however need to stay lower carb for life to keep it that way!

Kleptronic · 12/08/2017 12:55

Everyone! Hugs! We're all doing so well! Lovely new victims people too! Grin

I broke a stone barrier today. Yippee!
Here's my graph. The massive spikes were epic falling-off-the-wagon times. Christmas is huuuge! The smaller, more recent spikes are Easter, camping and Butlins.

I'm 5'9" so BMI 23, there's no epic losses for me really, but I think that's supposed to be normal at this point. I was cruising 25 at the start.

I try to be happy with a 2lb a month loss, especially as I only walk the dogs for exercise.

I also have to keep an eye on calories and not go over 1400/1500, but I think that's typical when you're near goal?

Hmm maybe I should rethink the exercise...

Pre-summer Bootcamp - our last weigh-in!
wombattoo · 12/08/2017 13:21

Hey all
I need to confess my sins. I have been eating crap for the last couple of weeks. Sweets/crisps/bread. I don't know what has got into me I can't even claim to have enjoyed most of it. I am usually so careful about not ingesting sugar. The sweets have tasted like pure sugar cubes Confused

I am throwing a big party for DH's significant birthday 2 weeks today and I don't want this bloody bloat hanging around me so, back on it.

I have been shopping and I am prepared.

C4 Have a lovely weekend.
Grah I look forward to your before and after pics.
Klep congrats on breaking a stone barrier. That is a massive boost after the length of time you have been on this woe.
ASD I am inspired by your massive 6 stone loss.
KOKO Smile

prettybird · 12/08/2017 15:29

It was me who was going to book a cut & colour when I lost a stone. Haven't booked it yet because my scalp is a sticky flaky (seborrhoeic dermatitis rather than dandruff) at the moment so I need to buy some Nizoral want it a bit better before I go.

Still on the egg fast but have only lost a pound so far. Probably disturbed by the wine on a couple of nights Blush (Enjoying the sun in the evening in our new "terasse" area in the garden one night and a friend wanting us to taste some Argentinian wine he might be importing another) and also TMI alert having had a poo for 3 days Blush

Gradually getting back to "normal" HFLC today (scrambled eggs for breakfast) but a 20th Wedding Anniversary we're going to this evening which will no doubt involve curry (but the wife is veggie so there should be some paneer and veggie options)

Ds was distraught at his exam results: reasonable results but below his and our expectations. He got 2As and 3Bs but one of his Bs was in Physics which is what he wants to do at Uni (along with Maths for which he got an A). He's just going to have to work harder in 6th year (he's doing Advanced Highers in Maths and Physics and a crash Higher in Modern Studies) as his Uni offers will probably be conditional rather than unconditional. He'll have to see how close he was to the grade boundaries for English, Physics and Chemistry to see whether it's worth going for a re-mark.

He's also now talking about changing his mind about what he wants to do at Uni and apply for International Law/International Relations Confused as he's passionate about the UN and iconic peacemakers and hates Trump and the challenges currently facing the world.

SummerSazz · 12/08/2017 17:16

ragz well done on 'normal' 😆. Brilliant news

ASD your loss is amazing - well done for KOKO

oldbooks what a difference in your pics, you must feel rightly chuffed.

I weighed myself when we arrived on holiday and was 69kg and 12 days into AI did so this morning and still 69kg 😮😮. I've had a touch of Mexico belly but still ultra pleased.

SummerSazz · 12/08/2017 17:18

Wedding anniversary today so had champagne for breakfast with my omelette - could get used to that Grin

ClearEyesFullHearts · 12/08/2017 18:42

On holiday, on plan, and feeling fat as a house, as though I'm gaining weight. No scales, but I hate this feeling.

Really, really low. Husband took a photo of us all at a restaurant and it was hideous--I looked about 50 lbs heavier. I looked heavier than my heaviest. And, yes, it was a terrible angle and, yes, my body was contorted in the worst possible way so everything squished in and doubled up but then...he sent that photo with a few others as a quick update to our families (just to say hi and keep in touch). That really bothered me. He said he just wanted a photo of us all having a nice time but didn't think that I might be embarrassed to be seen looking soooo fat.

And then it hit me that he might actually see me that way. And that hurts.

SummerSazz · 12/08/2017 18:52

Oh bless you clear. DH took a photo the other day as a sort of high up one looking down. I pressed the delete button pdq. He couldn't see anything wrong with it Confused. Sorry to hear your DH circulated the pic, I understand entirely how crap it makes you feel.

If you've been on plan then you'll be fine I promise. Flowers

SummerSazz · 12/08/2017 18:52

And well done for staying on plan!!

Veryflummoxed · 12/08/2017 18:54

Cleareyes more likely he doesn't really see your weight at all
ASD that is very very impressive.
Wombattoo welcome back.

Stunt I continued my IF today along with the egg fast. Just reread the rules and see I should have had three meals. Would you recommend I go back to breakfast tomorrow. (I don't think I can manage another egg tonight).

OldBooks · 12/08/2017 18:55

Oh cleareyes Flowers maybe he genuinely thought he had taken a nice photo of you all having a nice time. Maybe he looks at the picture and thinks "what a nice snap of my wife and friends having a good time". I know my DH has taken pics of me and shared them and I have had a similar reaction ("how could you send around a photo of me looking so disgusting") and he's been bewildered and hurt as to him it's just his wife who he loves.

MOIST · 12/08/2017 19:08

ClearEyes. Bugger the photos and the thoughtless husband. I bet anyone about s million quod nobody else is thinking you are any fatter than anyone else. They are all too busy worrying about how they look. Try and enjoy the good bits and relax. It's a holiday.

HemanOrSheRa · 12/08/2017 19:38

Oh Clear Flowers. I'm sure he just thought it was a lovely photo of you all having a good time. If your DH is anything like my DP then there was no malice behind it, I am sure. God knows my DP is a complete arse most of the time but he seems to love me whatever I do or look like. Weirdo Smile. You are on HOLIDAY! Try and enjoy yourself, please. You'll regret it later in the year if you don't. We are off on Monday. I'm not the size 14/16 I want to be. But I'll be fecked if I'll worry about what other people think about me. Bikini on for me!

However I HATE having my photo taken whatever my weight. I have a massive turnip head like Leticia Dean (sorry Leticia). I cried for months before my sister's wedding about the photos Blush. I did look like a hippo Grin.

Kleptronic · 12/08/2017 20:51

Thank you Wombat it meant a lot to me.

Two weeks is plenty of time to lose that bloated feeling, glad you're back on it. KOKO everyone Flowers

oatcakesandcheeseplease · 12/08/2017 22:43

Bl**dy hell!!!!! I'm having a lovely weekend away with SIL and BIL, been to the seaside, lovely sunny day etc BUT they're driving me mad - they can't accept that I'm on a low carb diet. So I get
BIL "have some chips",
Me "no thanks, I'm fine"
BIL "have some chips, you're not enjoying yourself"
Me " I am enjoying myself, I just don't want any chips"
BIL "you're boring"
Me "yes, ok I'm boring"

SIL "have an apple"
Me "no thanks, I'm fine" (I've just had steak and salad)
SIL "have some wine"
Me "no thanks, I'm fine with water"
SIL "have a tonic water"
Me "no thanks, I don't want any, I don't like it"
SIL "have a fruit yoghurt"
Me "no thanks, I'm fine"

What's the matter with these two? Why can't they accept that I am trying to lose weight, improve my health etc? They've seen me struggling with reflux and iBS and insomnia but they can't accept that I'm trying to do something about it? I've explained to them what I'm trying to do and they seemed to accept it but short of throttling them, I can't seem to get them to stop trying to force feed me

C4pinkwheels · 12/08/2017 23:48

Wombat my child, your carby twatness is forgiven, but please bend over and I will beat your fat arse with BIWI's big stick. DON'T DO IT AGAIN. You are worth so much more than this, your body henceforth will become a sugar free temple your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to care for it, love it and treat it with respect. Turn to the wise ones for support and encouragement.

Prettybird my DD had seberrhoeic dermatitis as a baby and a lovely paediatric consultant told me to dilute savlon 50/50 with water and use it to shampoo her hair. It cleared up really quickly so it might be worth a try.

Cleareyes Flowersfor you, we've all been where you are. What do I see when I think of you? Someone kind, loving, caring and a little bit fragile, keen to support everyone and put herself at the bottom of the pile. Well you just got promoted to the top lady. For the rest of your holiday you put yourself and your needs first because your fat can piss right off and reveal the real you

Oatcakes ignore them they are stupid, just that nothing else to say. KOKO

YoLoZammo · 13/08/2017 00:24

Hey y'all. Just caught up. You lot are amazing and I love you all. Newbies doing great. Returnees back to koko. cleareyes you need to open your eyes and see the beautiful woman that your family sees. It's not all about appearance and body fat ratio. Flowers

I've been very ill the past couple of days. Like feeling as if a bus has hit me on the outside and my bowels have exploded from the inside. Not sure if it was the egg fast..... or some sort of gastric flu. But it has been bloody awful. Feeling a bit better now. Have lost 4kgs over night but will be mostly fluids. Should I keep eating eggs? I'm a bit scared to.

wombattoo · 13/08/2017 01:38

I like to think I am a hard faced bitch but I have been brought to my knees.
C4 this is hard to admit but you have reduced me to tears. Thank you for your support
Sadly I live my life through music, and the song of the moment is from Les Mis. Bring him home.
Klep koko.
