Morning all. Very excited to hear the final scores!

Here's the Spreadsheet for its last outing this Bootcamp

We'll keep this chat thread going, and when it finishes, we'll start a new one so that we can keep the support going until next Bootcamp.

Oldbooks Great pic. You can really see a difference.

Well done ragz Brilliant news.

oatcakes If you don't want to tell them about this way of eating, why not say that you think you might be intolerant to carbs/wheat so you are cutting them out for while? I would normally just tell people how I eat but I know it can seem daunting when you are new to it. Don't feel forced to eat stuff you don't want to.

bella Great mantra.

OldBooks · 11/08/2017 19:04

Thanks starsky and wombatoo!

Tea tonight is courgette and leek cooked in butter and melted cream cheese with two eggs cracked on top.

Food today has been strongly egg based still. I am most amazed by how easy I am finding it to just not eat non-woe foods. Took the DDs to soft play and ordered them a sandwich, it was a lovely soft white bloomer bread, I wasn't even tempted. I ate their side salad and had egg and cheese when I got home Shock

The eggblast shed 3lbs of weight and now that I've had a day without eggs I quite fancy an omelette for dinner but I'm not at all hungry.

I've been at the NEC today so skipped breakfast had a picnic of celery, cream cheese, cucumber, lettuce & cherry tomato.

Oldbooks that photo is amazing, sometimes it's hard to see how far we come, your belly fat certainly pissed right off.

Welcome stumbly enjoy the ride.

secretsignal · 11/08/2017 19:40

Well done on your stone old, your pics are fab. Who was going to get a cut and colour once they lost a stone, I can't remember? Did you do it yet? I seem to be maintaining, which is fine because I've reached a happy weight but really need to tone up. Am also considering yoga when the kids go back in Sept. Word of warning; start saving for a new happy weight wardrobe, I've spent a fortune that I can't afford on well fitting clothes and honestly don't regret a penny, I feel so much better about myself. I've even started proper skincare, hair cuts, eyebrows etc since realising I could defeat my weight issues on this woe; it seems to have kick started a whole new approach to self-care that was long overdue.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 11/08/2017 19:49

C4 the egg fast finally day read as a horrendous experience, BUT your descriptive writing of the event are absolutely hilarious. Your really do bring a joy to the reading of the threads.

For the Yo-yoing weighters and newcomers I was 200.6 on Saturday 211 on Monday and 205.6 today. Knew I dehydrated on the 200km ride, hence low weight Saturday, So water/solid retention bounce was expected. But 11 pound...Shock the body didn't dump anything for a couple of days till it realized I was going to feed and water it again.

So back to pre ride weight and 24lb lighter than the end of May.

Sorry for being a fastweightlosing man - however the weight does go on Just as fast BIWIWink. Perhaps that's more portion size tho...

But suffice to say if you see an up on the scale and know you haven't overeaten by 3500 calories X up lbs - pretty good chance is retention of some sort.

Have fun out there.

OldBooks · 11/08/2017 20:10

Thanks C4! It is good to see such a dramatic change, it feels good too.

Secret it wasn't me going to get the cut and colour. I might treat myself to a pre-holiday pedicure though. It's great that you feel so good about yourself. I think that for a lot of us being overweight is the sign of a lack of self esteem and not feeling good enough about yourself to take care of yourself. I know that for me it was a form of self harm. So to find a woe that helps and that you stick to, whatever it might be, is a sign that maybe you are ready to make it all about yourself for once. And then good clothes, skin care etc follow on. Just some ramblings!

oatcakesandcheeseplease · 11/08/2017 20:44

Well, I've already been told I should give the "diet" up!! Because BIL has bought all this tasty food and wine for us. I've told them it's low carb and The reasons why I'm doing it and I'm firmly but calmly reiterating that it's low carb and I'M NOT A TWO HEADED MONSTER because I want to lose weight and improve my health!!!! Give me strength!!!

secretsignal · 11/08/2017 20:45

I'll ramble with you old, TBH it's like coming out of a dark tunnel, young kids are all consuming, and although obvs I adore them, now they are 6 and 4 and a tiny bit more self sufficient (as in they can feed themselves, go to the loo and put their own shoes on) I feel like I can consider my own needs a bit more. And I don't think that's selfish, because if I'm happier the people around me will be happier too.

OldBooks · 11/08/2017 20:53

And I don't think that's selfish, because if I'm happier the people around me will be happier too.

I agree 100%. Mine are still little, 3.5 and 1, and I do find some days terribly hard. I realised I spent ages getting them dressed and ready and then hadn't even brushed my own hair! No wonder I feel scruffy all the time!

MOIST · 11/08/2017 20:59

Evening all. I'm feeling wibbly and feeble.
However. Another day of eggs and I'm done. Fathead pizza tomorrow and a day off. Must write that bloody essay.

SayrraT · 11/08/2017 21:08

Just saw the October bootcamp thread and got very excited about signing up for the next bootcamp and was happily reading through it until I realised it was last year's thread! At least you know people are keen for another bootcamp BIWI!

starsky22 · 11/08/2017 23:51

Today:
B bacon & scrambled eggs
L leftover chicken thighs, broccoli & spinach fried in butter, with a bit of cream and cheese added at the end
D meatballs in tomato sauce with spinach and quite a lot of mozzarella

C4pinkwheels · 12/08/2017 07:28

I'm off to stay wife DD and her fiancé for the weekend, they are pretty good at coping with my lchf diet but I'm packing snacks.

Grah thank you for the compliment on my writing style. I do think though that given you have seen many of us women in our underwear and had the opportunity to wonder at our wobbly bits, the time has come for you to reveal your self (preferably not naked). I challenge you sir especially as we were all under the impression that you were in actual fact a lady so do you in fact have "a woman's legs".

Veryflummoxed · 12/08/2017 07:45

Great photo Oldbooks and well done Ragz Fantastic achievements. And Oldbooks that tea looks very appetising.
Welcome back Sayrrat

Totally agree with what others are saying about when the weight comes off, the self esteem goes up, and the whole self care thing takes an upward turn. I don't get on with perfume, can make me headachy, but I really enjoy lovely quality perfumed soaps, body washes/lotions etc and find they fill a sensory gap and that if I smell lovely I'm less inclined to eat when not hungry. Not always easy to find the time to be suitably indulgent though.

Good luck with being away Oatcakes and C4. Staying with others is I think the hardest way to stay on track as one doesn't want to feel you're rejecting hospitality but you have every right to put your health and well being first.

Grah my dh lost loads and loads (Over three stone I think) on our first bootcamp and more or less maintains that. Every so often he is overly indulgent and has a quick rise but back to this woe quickly drops again.

Well I stayed on track yesterday with what I was eating but did want to eat more than I needed and snacked. So today I've decided to try to put a halt to things by (inspired by you lovely lot) doing the egg fast. I'm just going back to look at the rules again.

MOIST · 12/08/2017 07:57

Good morning lovely people. Have a nice weekend C4.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

I might go for a run and have to get on with some essay.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 12/08/2017 08:04

C4pinkwheels Well I'm planning on doing a before and after once I get to see 199 or less.

Hopefully this or next week.

Going for a spin down to the south today around about 100 miles.
Should be 27c so will try to lose some farmer tan lines. before the picture. Smile

littlebillie · 12/08/2017 08:46

I've just had a week away and mostly I kept to WOE I had a few pizza express salads which were very good the summer breaded pesto one was lovely and I had one NT cream tea and a patisserie valerie afternoon tea and I've put on 1lb. I thought the carbs would had added half a stone but I think keeping to it most of the time works for me!

bellalurgy · 12/08/2017 08:50

c4 have a lovely weekend. I do miss having my family around but they're all in their 20's and 30's now and got their own lives. They used to visit a lot when I was down south but they can't just pop in to Scotland!

oatcakes Be strong. You'll come up against all sorts of difficult situations with this woe (although I do think it's becoming more popular) Don't let others dictate what you put in your body

My plans for the weekend are to try my 'Yoga for Dummies' dvd Grin Now that will be interesting. We do have a turnaround to do for the room so cleaning and washing etc Apart from that not much. Will probably waste inordinate amounts of time on t'internet! Hubby will be studying so I spend a lot of time on my own atm

OldBooks · 12/08/2017 08:55

Moist stop procrastinating on here and get on with your essay Wink

Thanks very! Tea was lovely but too much, I felt overfull afterwards.

Right so added bonus of the egg fast is that it's a reset so adding foods back slowly shows what might be stalling me. I had a few 5 squares of dark choc and I am up 1.5lbs this morning!! So chocolate is off the cards I think.

@BIWI @StuntNun is there a minimum carb level to try to maintain? I have seen on the threads people saying that they feel ill is they go too low but is there a converse, eg people who do better on a very low carb woe? I think I must try hard to have all carbs from green vegetables to sustain a good rate of loss and not allow BC lite carbs from nuts, choc and berries.

MOIST · 12/08/2017 09:00

I'm actually doing housework. I am the queen of procrastination.

ragz134 · 12/08/2017 09:17

oldbooks we do all have a slightly different tolerance to carbs, some of us need to go lower to lose than others. Probably to do with individual insulin sensitivity/resistance.

I was .2lb up today. Not bad as I had a protein roll with my dinner so more than double the carbs I had the previous 4 days.

I bought 24 eggs on Wednesday and only one solitary egg remains... Panic!

BIWI · 12/08/2017 09:25

@OldBooks - as ragz says, we're all different and so it's a matter of experimentation.

It's actually the basis of the Atkins diet - if you do it properly (and I don't think anyone actually does!), once you've completed the induction phase, where you're eating 20g carbs per day, you then increase your carbs by 5g per day, until you start to gain weight. This way you can find out not only what carbs make you gain weight but also the level you need to maintain with.

OP posts:
OldBooks · 12/08/2017 09:36

Great thanks BIWI and Ragz. Due to PCOS I have long suspected I am particularly insulin sensitive. I will stick to 20g at the moment, I don't think BC Lite will work as well for me in terms of making my loss slower and causing yoyoing. Good stuff, it's all experimentation and learning about my body!

One more thought: I have about 5 stone to go to reach acceptable weight for my height. I expect this will take a while. The longer I do it, will my body adjust or heal so that the insulin sensitivity decreases?
