3 days of eggs. 2lbs down.

However. I have had to drink wine. So should have been better.

I'll plough on a couple more days but I'm bored now so might need to eat something else.

ragz134 · 10/08/2017 09:12

oldbooks I have only lost just over 2lbs on my egg fast, I'm hoping a gradual transition back will maybe see more off. I do feel it has helped though.
Distractotron you can't do the egg fast with alcohol, I'm afraid. It will cancel it out. The choline in the eggs helps make your liver burn fat. But alcohol is special in that your liver always burns the alcohol before any fat. So alcohol basically switches off fat burning. You haven't been egg fasting if you have had wine, I'm afraid.

So, I'm only a fraction lighter than yesterday, but I usually gain after karate, so I'm hoping for more loss before the end of the week. I'm battered And bruised today!

oatcakesandcheeseplease · 10/08/2017 09:15

Hi all its my 4th day of bc and I'm getting into the way of it although I've got a headache 🤕 is it withdrawal of carbs or sugar?

Distract Its always a hard thing to do we had put to sleep our 11 year old lab 4 years ago. He was diagnosed with systemic cancer and most of the time he seemed fine til the last week he seemed to struggle walking and on the last day couldn't get up. We still miss him and talk about him I still wonder if I did the right thing but you have to do it for them because they can't tell you how I'll or in pain they are. We've a mad soppy 8 year old black lab. He's got arthritis but He's fine most of the time.

Starsky it was lovely - I used chicken thighs tho

ragz134 · 10/08/2017 09:21

oatcakes yes that is very common. Make sure you have enough salt, potassium and magnesium. I used to drink a cup of stock and that usually got rid of headaches.

oatcakesandcheeseplease · 10/08/2017 09:26

Thanks Ragz I might try an oxo cube with salt n pepper - would that help. Do you know what foods have potassium in them?

ragz134 · 10/08/2017 09:35

Spinach is a great LC source of potassium. Oxo already has salt so you may not need extra salt in it. When I did 5:2 I used to drink chicken oxo, it was surprisingly good!

starsky22 · 10/08/2017 09:37

Gale last time I did a low carb buffet, prawn cocktail in lettuce cups went down well, I used little gem lettuce.

YoLoZammo · 10/08/2017 10:36

gale is add in some crudites and hummous. Little sticks of cucumber, celery, peppers, carrots etc. Low carbers can avoid the hummous. Maybe add in a creamy garlic dip as well.

YoLoZammo · 10/08/2017 10:36

These eggs are making me poo 3 times a day Shock

C4pinkwheels · 10/08/2017 11:00

Another day of eggmisery for me, following a night of eggfoghorn rumblings from the bowels of hell, I swear my teenage boys at their very worst had sweeter smelling bedrooms than mine this morning but the scales this morning say 10st8lb which is the lightest I've been for about eight years.

So I will complete my fourth day and possibly a fifth as well.

B. Didn't fancy eggs so skipped breakfast
L. Cloud bread with marmite and blue cheese
D. Duck egg omelette

Yummy

Namaste Bitches

c4 Grin

I'm here for a bit of a moan......

In the last week I've put on 2lbs Confused I really don't know what's going on, I'm further than ever from 3stone loss now.

I've been on it 6 months now, is that significant? I didn't weigh at all for the first 100 days and had a good weight loss at the end. Then we had bootcamp so I weighed weekly - a loss every week bar one (sprained ankle?)

I haven't changed anything. I don't think I'm allowing carb creep cos I still record on MFP (I know, I know). I'm always between 25-30 carbs with 30 being the exception. I don't drink (seriously, no alcohol). I count every coffee I have as 2 carbs cos I have a splash of milk and soya cream. I don't weigh everything but I don't think I have to?? I check my cheese portions periodically to make sure they aren't growing and they're always under what I guesstimate ...

The only thing I always weigh is nuts. I buy a bag of pistachios and portion them into pots so I don't munch too many. I can't tolerate cream so I'm not overeating that. I have the squirty stuff (2.6 carbs per 100g) but I always count it.

Any ideas? Or is it just my body catching up with itself? Really frustrating and I wish I hadn't got back into weighing myself Sad

ragz134 · 10/08/2017 11:55

c4 sorry you're suffering with the eggs fast side effects. Sounds like it has worked on the weight loss front though, well done! Apart from a bit of heartburn one night, I haven't had any gastric problems with it. We do eat eggs a lot anyway though.

Just had brunch of 3 eggs with butter and mayo and 25g melted cheese as a starter!
Looking forward to my steak and spinach tonight.

Distractotron · 10/08/2017 12:23

Someone asked me the other day if all those eggs had made me hushed tones constipated😂err no!! Poor C4, you're very brave to continue 😂
Ragz, that makes sense, thanks - I don't think I can face another egg fast right now though! I did 3 days before the necessary wine. Just been swimming and my costume was baggier than previously so not doing too badly at least.
Retrievers are gorgeous! Labs too. We're a bit dog-obsessed in our house. Already been to one fun dog show these holidays and hope to go to another on Saturday.
So. Much. Dogs 😍
Starving after swimming. Bacon salad for lunch.

MOIST · 10/08/2017 12:42

I have cracked and I'm eating a beef burger.

Bloody vein chap said it'd be 6 months until vein comes out. Phonecall this morning - more like 3 bloody weeks.

OldBooks · 10/08/2017 12:43

ragz I know 2lbs in 3 days is good, my inner child was having a tantrum about wanting to be slim NOW please! Grin

Gale devilled eggs are good at a buffet

C4 sorry the eggs are affecting you so much, hopefully the scales made it worthwhile?!

Belka have you taken measurements or photos? They might reveal a different story. I think BIWI and Stunt would tell you to KOKO and suddenly you will woosh. Plateaus are normal in long term weight loss.

MOIST · 10/08/2017 12:43

With the boob thing also impending I'd cancel the vein thing but it took me 15 years to get round to going to the dr. Then about 3 years to actually get it looked at. And apparently it's really quite bad and really needs fixing.

ilovecherries · 10/08/2017 12:57

I'm just 2 lbs away from being a fat bitch. (Needs a turning cartwheel emoticon). So in celebration have booked a HoC session for me and DD next Thursday, by which time I'm hoping I WILL be a fat bitch :). Would have rather weighted till I hit that target to book it but want to seize the opportunity of DD being home for a few weeks.

C4pinkwheels · 10/08/2017 13:07

Ilovecherries congratulations in anticipation of you becoming a fat bitch

Bellalurgy my weight has been up and down and all over the place with this woe, what I find really helps is a weekly photo in my underwear (same each time) the scales might have gone up some weeks but the camera tells a different story.

Kewcumber · 10/08/2017 13:33

distract My last cat I had when my final IVF failed as a present to myself to satisfy my craving for children and he was such a mummy's boy - frowned at everyone else and loved me like a dog does! When he had to be put to sleep (poisoned probably by antifreeze so not old) I was devastated and sowr I couldn't replace him.

I lasted about 3 weeks before I cracked - couldn't bear coming into a house without an animal there even though I have DS now (who can be a bit of an animal...)

I had wagyu beef burger last night from Costco - about £14 for 6 so ridiculously expensive for a burger but delicious. Worth every penny.

My scales go up and down like a yoyo more than any other eating plan I've done. I try to ignore an KOKO (sometimes more successfully than others)

wombattoo · 10/08/2017 17:16

bella Try cutting out the nuts for a week and see if that makes any difference. Also, get rid of the squirty cream. It may seem low carb but it is usually full of rubbish and nothing at all like fresh cream.
I would try to stop the counting of carbs - you are correct in that it is unnecessary - and try a week of strict bc. You could post a few days worth of meals for us to have a look at.

oatcakes the carb flu should pass in a couple of days. It is completely normal.

Distract Far too much wine going on there I'm afraid.

For those who have lost 2lb on their egg fasts, I think that is a great loss for only 3 days, especially considering you have just completed a boot camp.

KOKO everyone.

C4pinkwheels · 10/08/2017 17:31

Oh dear God, me and the evil ovals from stenchville are done, the final straw is getting the paralysed descending colon equivalent of the trots which has had me positioned in the bathroom most of the afternoon in screaming agony.
I promise you it's no fun at all because everything that needed to come out was trapped a looong way from the exit. Just goggle Peristeen if you're really curious.

Why is my poo the colour of egg yolk?

Why does my bathroom smell as if some swamp monster has crawled up my arse into an unseen corner and decomposed slowly?

I'm having fish for dinner whilst sitting with my arse in an ice bucket.

OldBooks · 10/08/2017 17:38

c4 that sounds awful, poor you. No more egg fasting!

Kew how awful that your DCat was poisoned Sad I too had a consolation cat who we got after an MMC. He's still trotting about though, somewhat bemused by the two babies we've had since!

bellalurgy · 10/08/2017 17:53

Crikey c4 that sounds horrendous Shock Hope you don't take too long to recover!

Thanks for the replies guys. Nope, I don't have any pics and no intention of doing any! The last pictures taken of me were at my daughters graduation after a 2st loss and I couldn't believe I was still soooo fat Sad I've only got a full length mirror in the last couple of weeks cos we're doing airbnb and apparently guests like that sort of thing. I try not to look in it. In fact, I hadn't seen below my neck for about 5 years Grin

I've had time to think and decided I'm being daft. I have an op scheduled for the end of September and then a few weeks later it's BC again. So, I'm putting the scales away and I won't get them out until BC mid Oct. I think it's for the best (best for my mental health anyway)

I'll KOKO, I'm not going anywhere. Thanks all Flowers

oatcakesandcheeseplease · 10/08/2017 17:56

I got my 1st dog as a consolation prize too. But she really did help me come to terms with not having kids - and now I've got 3 grown up step kids and 6 grandkids - so it worked out well in the end - I've still got my dog tho - a younger version of the 1st one.

Wombatoo is that what I've got carb flu
Headache and today I've been feeling nauseous - and burping a lot. How long til it goes. At least I'm not suffering from egg overload like some of you.

Veryflummoxed · 10/08/2017 18:29

Distract when our dog died the summer holidays before last my son and grand daughters regularly sat around her grave in the garden reading her stories. They wrote poems for her and made her a "this is your life" book. I cried for days and remembering this now is bringing tears to my eyes.
