Morning campers

Here's the spreadsheet

So we start our last two weeks. Let's get really focused - think about the food you're eating, pinpoint any carb creep and eliminate that cheating!

If it helps, post what you're eating each day. Or even consider going back to strict Bootcamp for the last fortnight!

Flowers

Good luck to everyone

@ilovecherries - I feel your pain! And I hope very much that the hotel were able to make you a lovely, low carb fry up this morning

Morning all :)

I've been to spin class this morning and I've got a hell session tonight at 6:30 Grin

5 sessions a week is going really well but next week I've got a (much needed) week off work and I'm panicking about it a bit. I'll be out of my routine and I'm worried I won't eat well or show up for the gym Confused.. how do you guys cope when you're forced out of your normal routine?

I havent weighed myself for about 3 weeks but I'm not sure I've lost anything. I "feel" the same weight as always and with my training it's unlikely I'll be dropping weight although I'm probably changing shape.

The weight still seems to be coming off my top and none off me below the waist Confused I look like I have a shelf where my hips start! ARGH.

Nyancat · 19/07/2017 08:38

Aargh, had been doing well then went on holiday for 2 weeks and fell totally off the wagon. Put half a stone on from eating croissants and drinking wine every day! Back on it since Monday and have 3 of the 7 off so far but really annoyed at myself. So am back and being strict with myself for the rest of bootcamp b

C4pinkwheels · 19/07/2017 08:54

Jiminny next week for you is a challenge but I think you will benefit from having a plan. Plan everything meals, activities, treats, days out, rest time etc.
Break each day into chunks and make sure that you include lots of little treats for yourself, a face pack, massage, manicure, mindfulness, yoga class, movie, visiting friends etc.
I'm sure you won't derail yourself if you do this.

starsky22 · 19/07/2017 09:23

C4 I cannot believe what that woman said! I think your come back was perfect!

Ragz Great NSV with the scrubs!

Jiminy I'm the same with routine, that's why I always struggle with the weekends more than during the week. I agree that you should plan out your week and in particular your meals. Perhaps give yourself a target to do x many gym sessions and if you do that you get to treat yourself to a pedicure/new top or something as a reward?

AdalindSchade · 19/07/2017 09:49

Morning all
I've kind of dropped out of bootcamp. I have had enough of the limited food and the expensive food shops and I just lost motivation. I don't want to turn into a total carby twat and I am still motivated to lose weight but I can't do bootcamp any longer. I started a week before so for me I have done 9.5 weeks so almost made it!
Good luck with the last week and a half and I will keep an eye on the threads and dip in if I think I have something to add Smile

ilovecherries · 19/07/2017 10:20

Grin Would you like some coffee with your cream? This is a regular takeaway cup (not an expresso cup). It defeated even me!

Week 9 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - let's get focused!
YoLoZammo · 19/07/2017 10:20

Sorry to see you go Adalind. I am spending all the money I used to spend on takeaways, cakes, pizza, treats, pastries etc on more meat and vegetables. Im not finding it more expensive.

Is there anything we can do to help motivate you to finish?

YoLoZammo · 19/07/2017 10:23

ragz you look like a sexy medic from ER or Greys Anatomy.

C4 wow at Vair Posh Lady. And good for you on the response. That's something I would have thought of much later and missed my chance for a pithy retort.

jim I agree re the plan. It's easy then.

nyan well done for koko.

cherries that looks grey. It's not right. Confused

ilovecherries · 19/07/2017 10:31

Nah, it was fine, it's just the light. That's just the cream they gave me to pour into my coffee - there must have been about 200 mls.

ShastaBeast · 19/07/2017 10:51

Oops. I messed up the spreadsheet- very slightly. Accidentally entered the blue box and couldn't get out of it. On my phone so much easier to press the wrong thing. Sorry.

I'm down a pound, weighing in slight late so it's the same time of day due to being out Monday. School hols so stuck at home for the next few weeks for Monday and will be around a bit more for the finally weeks and beyond. I don't know when I'll get to the gym though Hmm

I've hit half a stone on this bootcamp but 13lb since starting low carb after the Easter weekend. That's exactly one pound per week even with a big stall in the middle. Keep at it everyone.

ShastaBeast · 19/07/2017 11:01

Starbucks do cream? That will be a godsend as I've been a bit naughty when buying coffees, too much milk.

Adalind - you don't have to buy all the special food but you can adapt your diet and trim some of the worst offenders out. Long term I will look at how best to continue and probably won't be as careful as long as it's reasonably healthy - carbs as occasional treats only and avoiding sugar as much as possible. I've eaten more fruit lately and had things like vegetable crisps and tiny bits of pasta. It's better to be generally following the concept than chuck it out entirely because it doesn't fit your life - I struggle with appetite and cooking due to health issues so refuse to be too hard on myself, consequently I'm more able to continue eating this way and have mostly been good. I have continued to lose even with too many strawberries/too much milk in my coffee. My carbs are still way down on a normal diet.

ilovecherries · 19/07/2017 11:20

Shasta, yes, AND they do filter coffee for £1 to go with it. Although today the barista gave me an American for £1 as she hadn't had a chance to clean the filter. Plus half a pint of double cream. Result!

ilovecherries · 19/07/2017 11:22

Actually, so do Costa and Caffe Nero (do cream) if you ask.

AdalindSchade · 19/07/2017 11:25

I do have to adapt my food because I'm vegetarian. I went from meals that were bulked out with pasta, rice, couscous etc to meals with cheese, avocados etc. It has added up to about an extra £15 a week on my food bill so not insignificant. I can't change up my meals on bootcamp to include cheaper ingredients as they cost what they cost.
It's ok, I'm happy with the decision. I'm happy with my bit of weight loss and what I've learnt about my eating habits from bootcamp. I may be back next time!

ASDismynormality · 19/07/2017 11:45

jimminy I think that going to the gym will keep you in some sort of routine.

Feeling a bit pissed off that I'm still around the 16st 7lb mark and have been for around a month. The school holidays start on Friday and in the past any healthy eating/ gym has gone out the window then so this is not a good time to be so down about it.

ShastaBeast · 19/07/2017 11:51

Woo for the cream info. I'm prepared now. Creamy coffee is the best thing about this eating plan.

Adalind - it will be much harder without meat. I think being mindful of which carbs you choose will help, it's not bootcamp but it will make an impact to your health and weight. There seems to be a battle between low carb and vegan but they both can work and it would be very difficult to low carb as a vegan. Good luck.

prettybird · 19/07/2017 12:07

You look fabulous c4 - glad you had a great day and you must be so proud of your dd.

I'm feeling a bit fragile this morning too: had a braai last night and rather too much wine. Still kept to Boot Camp Lite though: lovely lamb kebabs (pieces marinated in olive oil and ras-el-hanout - a Morrocan spice mix which is my new favourite seasoning) and boerewurs (South African farmers sausage) with a crunchy salad (cucumber, radishes from the garden , cherry tomatoes, parsley, mint, a few fresh French beans from our friend's garden and torn bit of pitta bread which I picked out and some pomegranate seeds), followed by raspberries and cream (the others had icecream - and some pineapple I tried one chunk as it looked a lovely juicy pineapple )

FinallyHere · 19/07/2017 12:14

Mmmmm, boerewurs, my mouth is literally watering, just reading about your braai, prettybird

[stayed with very kind south africans when my parents were abroad (from where we lived at the time) when I acquired my taste for boerewurs and tinned guava in syrup. Mmmmmmm...]

ClearEyesFullHearts · 19/07/2017 12:23

ilovecherries how tall are you? Great to be in "wonderland" (or one-der-land as they say on the biggest loser). That's my goal for end of Bootcamp.

I ate three sixgyoza last night at a big celebration with my closest friends. No excuse, I just wanted to eat them. Confused They were delicious but I'm not feeling proud of myself today and I look pregnant. Angry man, I've been so on plan as well, no trouble at all for the vast majority of this Bootcamp. Poo.

ragz you look amazing, and in scrubs no less.

Adalind sorry to see you go but I'm very aware LCHF can be more difficult for vegetarians. Which WOE are you planning next? Best of luck in your continued weight loss, and well done.

Sending positive vibes to everyone. So tired by end of term that I'm turning into a hippie! Peace out and namaste, bitches.

prettybird · 19/07/2017 12:43

Mmmmm Finally - you've made me drool at the memory of canned guavas in syrup (served with cream): a staple dessert from my childhood, but which always felt like a treat. Not good for Boot Camp though Grin

When my dad gets back from SA, I'm going to get his recipe for boerewors from him. The ones I bought were from a butcher who beginning making them to order for a South African friend (using her recipe) and he now keeps a stock in the freezer. I bought two coils at ds' insistence as yesterday was Mandela Day, but I've kept one in the freezer. Iirc, they're pure meat - but the trick to ensuring a "good" boerewors is enough fat to ensure it is moist enough. That and the family secret spice combinations Wink Good for HFLC Smile

ilovecherries · 19/07/2017 12:44

ClearEyes, I'm just over 5 foot 7 (have been horrified to lose nearly 3/4 inch since menopause, as I used to be 5'8'').

ragz134 · 19/07/2017 13:28

c4 you looked amazing yesterday, and nice comeback to the ignorant twunt, well done!
yolo not sure scrubs can ever be sexy, but thanks :) - they are very comfy as well!
cleareyes thank you, it definitely felt good not to need XL this time!

ragz134 · 19/07/2017 13:30

asd I always struggle with summer holiday eating as well, I'm hoping this time that I've been LC Long enough to keep at it without too much effort. Kids can have treats. I can just eat my food. We have a week in Scotland in august but it's a cottage so I'll be in charge of food so should be fine.

ragz134 · 19/07/2017 13:32

cherries I used to be 5'10" - I've lost half an inch since having children!

Imstyledilemma · 19/07/2017 13:41

B - 2 egg omelette with butter and a grilled tomato (no cheese)
S - 2 bites of banana
S - Coffee with cream added.
L - Grilled haloumi (God I love this stuff) on a bed Hmm (damn you MasterChef)
of broccoli, carrots and melted butter.
D- Will be something with chicken.

I felt a bit weak with no energy today, which is understandable as I'm on Day 3 of fairly strict bootcamp to try and get back on track.
I needed to go out and about and get loads of stuff done so I played safe and had a few bites of banana beforehand and I have to say, my head cleared in seconds and I had tons of energy, even though that energy only lasted about an hour, but it was long enough for me to do all my errands.
