Morning campers

Here's the spreadsheet

So we start our last two weeks. Let's get really focused - think about the food you're eating, pinpoint any carb creep and eliminate that cheating!

If it helps, post what you're eating each day. Or even consider going back to strict Bootcamp for the last fortnight!

Flowers

Good luck to everyone

@ilovecherries - I feel your pain! And I hope very much that the hotel were able to make you a lovely, low carb fry up this morning

I was wondering when the baggy skin will appear. I'm about 17-18 lbs down (25lbs since Xmas) and it hasn't yet, but I'm sure it will, I can't see how I will avoid it given my age, and still got 3 stone to lose as well. The itch all over my belly was so bad I was sure it would be stretch marks appearing, but nothing has appeared so far. Pregnancy wasn't too bad for my belly - two short stretch marks on each side of my belly button, and that was it, and surprisingly didn't get any with weight gain, but Sod's law is they will appear with weight loss. If I get loose skin, I will just need to shove it in Spanx I guess - better than the fat, anyway.

OldBooks · 21/07/2017 20:22

Finally the best thing about it is the lovely crispy then oily taste of the broccoli and cauliflower when you bite. They are so tasty when not soggy and overboiled

Welcome Mimosa! I agree that BC light might be best if you have tiny baby, mine is 1 tomorrow sob where did the time go and I struggle some days when she has a bad night.

Ragz you look gorgeous, I second heman your hair is lovely

Scoffing mince with courgette, aubergine, shallots and leeks. Had it in the slow cooker all day then covered it in cheese and finished it off in the oven. Breakfast was a cheese omelette and lunch was my yummy roast broccoli and cauliflower with cheese. No snacks, didn't even think about them. Need to drink 2 more pints and today was a good day Smile

ClearEyesFullHearts · 21/07/2017 20:50

OldBooks that mince/veg thing sounds so beautiful...

It's ribeye tonight with bleu cheese sauce (mayo, sour cream, bleu cheese...melt) and some steamed asparagus. Ribeye is so beautifully fatty.

ragz you look like my goal weight. Very personal question, don't answer if you don't want to, but how much weight have you lost from your highest and how the hell can your breasts be so amazingly perky with no bra? I am flabbergasted. (You look beautiful.)

I'm, erm, blessed with my poitrine and can see that being the one area where exercise won't tone enough to make an impact. Possibly my lower stomach as well, but I have faith it will give me enough to be happy.

Skin elasticity is a worry as we ageI know we will all be saggy and wrinkly if we're lucky to live long enoughbut I'm actually exploring surgeries as a last resort. Just a lift, not a reduction. Obviously will wait until goal weight and all exercise options have been exhausted. Wink

Ahhh Oldbooks 1 year old! I hope your DD has a wonderful first birthday! I can't believe that DS is 5 months old this week. The newborn days are already a hazy memory. He is changing so fast. Feels like he does something new everyday.

Food:
B - Greek yoghurt, desiccated coconut.
L - Omelette with spinach, feta and pesto.
D - Salmon, courgetti and roasted brocolli.
Almond milk hot chocolate, made with dark chocolate chips.

JiminnyCricket · 21/07/2017 20:56

ilove there's no telling how loose skin appears. After I'd lost about 20lbs I had quite a bit of loose skin on my tummy but when I'd lost 35lbs the loose skin had buggered off and although still a bit cottage cheesy, you can only see it now if I wrinkle my tummy up.

The training is toning up my arms pretty fast and my shoulders are much firmer than they were, but if genetically you're predisposed to loose skin now amount of training is going to shift it unfortunately. As long as I can contain the loose skin in strategic underwear I'll be happy :)

After all, you can't go from 19st 1lb to a healthy weight eventually and get away without your body showing signs of it can you? What I did to my body by my old habits will always show but I'm actually ok with that, it will serve as a reminder never to bloody go back there!!

OldBooks · 21/07/2017 21:06

Thanks Nasch! It's such a cliche but it does go so fast. She's had a huge development leap and suddenly is saying words (milkies mama) and took her first steps yesterday!

wombattoo · 21/07/2017 21:14

ragz You look fab. Have a great time.

starsky22 · 21/07/2017 21:18

You look lovely ragz, you have great arms!

oldbooks haven't tried roasted broccoli and cauli, sounds lovely, so going to try that this week, thanks!

mimosa welcome and congrats! I wish I'd tried this WOE after my second was born, 2.5yrs later and I'm still trying to lose the baby weight, I'm determined to do it this time though!

Had family round today for afternoon tea, so to go with the sandwiches, scones and cakes (which I didn't touch) I made some low carb options: smoked salmon & cream cheese roll ups, mozzarella wrapped in parma ham, prawn cocktail in lettuce cups and lc cocktail sausages, was all delicious and didn't feel deprived at all, did have a small glass of pimms though!

B - fasting
L - satay chicken curry & veg
Afternoon tea as above, so no dinner.

Thinking about making an almond milk hot chocolate, anyone got a recipe/instructions?

HemanOrSheRa · 21/07/2017 21:20

I'm, erm, blessed with my poitrine and can see that being the one area where exercise won't tone enough to make an impact. Me too Clear. Although I've lost weight from my upper stomach I still have shot putters arms and huge boobs. And an arse shelf Smile. I've reasonable legs though from the mid thigh down Grin.

It's funny though. I think I must walk around with my head in the clouds about how people look Confused. I see threads here, particularly in AIBU, and wonder what the hell people are talking about Confused.

You have HOT LIPS too ragz Smile.

Naschkatze · 21/07/2017 21:30

Starsky I heat the almond milk in the microwave and mix (with a whisk) in some 100% cocoa chocolate chips that I found in Sainsbury's. Sometimes add a touch of cream/vanilla for sweetness. But you could use some cocoa powder/chopped up dark chocolate.

Mimosa1 · 21/07/2017 21:43

Thanks for the welcome all, and great to hear that the thread will continue in between boot camp. I'm not breastfeeding, old books and natchkatze so able to vlcd although a bit sad bit being able to (and the 1000 extra calories a day it's supposed to burn). I had a section so can't exercise quite yet but adding some gentle walking. I've always been pear shaped but now have the addition of a belly and horrible section apron and not feeling happy with myself at all. Also did a BMI calculator and I'm officially obese. Only a couple of kg to get into the overweight category so using that as motivation.

On a side note, i was at the dr asking for some medical records not long ago, and saw my weight listed 3.5 years, 2 children and 20kg ago. I thought I was fat then - what the hell was i thinking?! I think it has something to do with my very, very slim and weight obsessed DM who always tells me "you'd be even prettier if you lost a bit of weight" and thinks being slim is a mark of good character, so I always thought I should really be thinner, like her. So I'm planning to diet but be very careful around my own little girl. On the plus side, I'm doing this for me and my health, so excited to get started. Best wishes to all.

starsky22 · 21/07/2017 22:10

Thanks Nasch used cocoa, which worked well, but will look out for those chocolate chips in Sainsburys!

Userwithoutaname · 21/07/2017 23:31

ragz you look lovely. Love your hair! That cami is really nice, can I ask where you got it? I keep looking for non clinging tops but struggle to find them.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 21/07/2017 23:38

Ragz As a guy, I can only say as a sculptress your doing a fine job. Admiring your artistic presentation.

Thought I was going to cave to a snickers bar,
but decided to have it I had to walk down to 2nd floor and back up the stairs ( work on the 11th floor ) . Did it but didn't feel like eating no Chocolate bar after heart rate monitor said used only 23 Calories... only 23 and was puffing like a train.

As BIWI is otherwise engaged, Probably trying to see if like Jimin she can put her heels in her ears for some strange reason.

Can any one answer this.
Are these Coconut bars allowed on BC

YoLoZammo · 22/07/2017 02:14

Grah you are a guy ???? Shock Confused well that was a revelation to me. feel oddly embarrassed about revealing my bra size and wobbly bits, when in fact anyone on the internet can read this thread, duh

Are there any more....????

Lol Grin

YoLoZammo · 22/07/2017 02:15

I clearly can't use strikeout can I. Oh the shame piles on.

StuntNun · 22/07/2017 06:08

I don't like the look of those coconut bars Grah - far too much sweetener in there. If you really fancy something like that I would go for a fat bomb recipe.

StuntNun · 22/07/2017 06:16

Or make chocolate truffles Grah. You need:

100g 70% chocolate chips or grated block chocolate
100ml double cream
15g butter

Hear the cream and butter in a saucepan until just about to boil. Pour the cream mixture over the chocolate and give it a few seconds to start melting then stir. Put the bowl in the fridge to cool. Once it has set scoop out balls with a teaspoon (or melon baller if you have one). You can roll them in cocoa powder or dip them in melted chocolate to coat them if you want, or just eat them as they are. They need to be kept in the fridge though as they are just made from ganache and they will go soft at room temperature.

Another thing you could try for a treat is chocolate bark. All you do is melt block chocolate and spread it out in a thin layer on greaseproof paper. Then sprinkle it with chopped nuts or whole nuts or cocoa nibs (or a combination) and put it in the fridge to set.

I have a silicone chocolate mould and I like to put a Brazil nut in each mould then pour over melted chocolate. Low carb but so luxurious.

Im about a thread behind, really cannot keep up! I finished work for the summer and dropped right off the thread, I'm currently running behind the wagon too, clinging on a bit...
Because our routine goes out the window I'm struggling a bit so have stayed the same or maybe a lb up.
I've signed up for a half marathon in October so started a 12 week training plan this week. Not sure if thats making a diiference, ran 12 miles this week in total which is more than I've ever run in a week, I'm enjoying it but it's hard work as very hilly where I live. I've been struggling with feeling light headed and dizzy a bit, I do get this sometimes anyway but it's happened a few times this week. Not sure if it's how I'm eating.
Got a bit bored of what I'm eating so I need to spend some time trying some recipes out I think. Also being out and about and all the wine means I'm making poor choices. I've got 2 weeks till my 40th so I'm determined to try and lose a few more lbs before then. Had a hangover day yesterday after a boozy night with a friend, did manage to eat ok. Then remembered I inhaled two gingernut biscuits at midnight after a bottle of wine. Did run 2.5 miles though so hoping it balanced out.

OldBooks · 22/07/2017 06:29

Mimosa my DM is the same, down to that phrase "if you only lost a few pounds you could be so pretty". Nowadays I actually tell her to sod off but in the past it has really messed me up. I am terrified of doing it to my girls too. I don't want them to have a messed up attitude to food Confused sorry you couldn't breastfeed but blimey it doesn't uae that many calories and you are ravenous to compensate too. Two days after I stopped my appetite literally halved!

StuntNun · 22/07/2017 06:29

I found a good fat bomb recipe that only uses coconut oil, cocoa powder and almond butter - no sugar or sweeteners. They are hugely calorific though so only make them if you can stick to just one, Grah.

StuntNun · 22/07/2017 06:39

Scare feeling dizzy could be a sign of electrolyte imbalance. Earlier on in Bootcamp someone recommended these low carb hydration drinkss*

Veryflummoxed · 22/07/2017 06:50

Had written loads of replies, lost them, written and lost them again so sorry. But I will say for the third time "Happy First Birthday Oldbook's baby (and posts before looses it again)

Cherrypi · 22/07/2017 07:49

I'm losing motivation and weight loss is flatlining. Argh any ideas? I feel I need a new diet for the next stone as I'm getting bored.

boatgirl81 · 22/07/2017 08:00

Weighed in early as going away this morning, am amazed at 2.8 off, brings me to 12.5 pounds this bootcamp. Would be nice to hit a stone but not sure that will happen.
Will do my best to stick to plan this week.
Good Luck all.
