Morning all

Flowers

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness once more

So the finish line is almost in sight. I see from the last thread that some of you have been struggling to stay on track - just three more weeks to go, so stay focused.

That 'it's only one piece of bread/one glass of beer' moment really isn't worth it. Been there, got the t-shirt.

If you're bored with the food - there are two things that could help you. Firstly, think back to the last time you were doing a low calorie/low fat diet - how awful was it to have to scavenge the shelves looking for something low calorie enough, and how often were you eating food that didn't actually taste that nice, but delivered only on the basis of being low calorie? Rice cakes that might as well be polystyrene ceiling tiles, for example!

And then go and read the recipe thread for some inspiration, and find something new to cook. There's nothing on there that's difficult to do.

I'd also say that I see a lot of you are trying to recreate things that are high carb - pizza or bread, for example. These things are very unlikely to be the same, or as nice, as the high carb versions. And all the time you're trying to recreate something you're missing, you're just reminding yourself that you're missing something!

So try not to do this, but focus on things that are beautifully low carb and that you can enjoy for their own taste and benefits.

Here's to a successful week for us all.

One of my customers recommended cauliflower omelette where you add cauli rice to your omelette. I can't quite work out how it works but he swears it's delicious.

HemanOrSheRa · 16/07/2017 17:49

Ooh food pics are making me hungry! Leg of lamb is roasting in the oven. I'm going to have roasted celeriac, cauliflower cheese, broccoli and cabbage stir fried in butter with mine Smile. Boys will have roast spuds plus the veg. DS will have carrots and Yorkshire puddings Grin.

ragz134 · 16/07/2017 17:49

I fear DH may divorce me if I suggest cauliflower omelette, it is his most hated vegetable no matter how I cook it!

The roast dinner wmone was actually very good. Though it took some convincing for me to try it. He made a cheeseburger one that was pretty good and low carb as no bread, tastes just like a burger!

StuntNun · 16/07/2017 18:12

Ragz my DH hates cauliflower as well the weirdo and doesn't appreciate the fragrant bouquet of boiling cauliflower the philistine. I had a lovely dinner of roast chicken with roast Mediterranean vegetables and chestnut mushrooms fried in butter. The lemon and herb gravy was divine if I say so myself.

MOIST · 16/07/2017 19:01

I love cauliflower. I think it'd be smashing in an omelet.

I'm back on it properly now.

B. Cream coffee
S. More cream coffee
L. Fried chicken thigh, gouda slices, mayo and lettuce sandwich thingy.
D. Will be moussaka

Tomorrow I'm back to work. 3 long days in a row, which might kill me. My LCHF cold is brewing unpleasantly but I have resisted treating it with haribo.

I made a delicious accidental late lunch/early dinner today.

Sauteed strips of leek, courgettes and cabbage in butter, cumin seeds, ground coriander, garlic and ginger. This was supposed to be an accompaniment to a butter chicken curry instead of rice. Chicken thighs turned out to be off when I opened the packet so had to chuck them. I added the butter chicken sauce (yes shop bought but lc, please don't judge!) to the veg and simmered. So the veg became the curry. In ye olden days BBC (before boot camp) I would have added a can of chickpeas at this point but I didn't. Only other meat I had in the fridge was steak. So I coated the steak in garam masala and pan fried it medium well. Then loaded the saucy curry veg into shallow bowls, sliced the steaks into diagonal strips and placed ever-so-Saturday-Kitchen-Cheffy on top.

Was amazing. And very filling indeed.

starsky22 · 16/07/2017 19:37

So this was today:
B cream cheese pancakes
L sausage & bacon 'hash' with fried egg
D fathead pizza

Pizza was amazing and got lots of leftovers as it was so filling, tried to post a pic, but it won't work on my phone.

AdalindSchade · 16/07/2017 19:38

Cauliflower omelette is amaze. XH makes omelettes with all kinds of stuff in as is common where he is from. Chopped olives and parsley is lovely, as is fried cauliflower and preserved lemons.

YoLoZammo · 16/07/2017 19:51

I'm trying to work put how Pinterest works. Blush

Can find diet doctor but not omelette king. Searches don't seem to come up with people. Just pages.

YoLoZammo · 16/07/2017 19:55

Moist i haven't yet seen Haribo marketed as a cold treatment. Wink

Well done for resisting its placebo effects. Hope you survive the next 3 days. Grin

C4 good to see you are eating again. And not throwing it up. Hope you are resting enough too.

L238 · 16/07/2017 20:13

Had a lovely dinner tonight. Slow roasted a lamb breast - went crispy on top but nice & tender meat. Served with a huge Greek salad, tzatziki & roasted aubergine. Carb loving partner had some pitta with his. He's been away for 2 weeks - there's been no bread in the house but now it's testing my resolve!!

ilovecherries · 16/07/2017 20:14

I must sort out my travelling better :(. 7 hours on the road (twice as long as it should have taken) to get to a client meeting first thing tomorrow. I had some FF yog for breakfast. Left home at noon, not hungry, thought I would get something en route. Hours sitting in traffic jam on M6. Unable to get near service stations. Finally managed to get into one and had a costa coffee with cream. No suitable food, no seats, queues everywhere. Lorry driver screamed at me for no apparent reason and treated me to a string of abuse in the car park. Made do with a mini bar of 85% chocolate (that I had to buy a whole gift box of other fancy G&B bars to get my hands on - they are all currently hidden in car boot). Just arrived. Hotel kitchen is fecking closed because of an electrical problem this afternoon. They can make me sandwiches only. In the middle of nowhere. Cannot under any circumstances get back in the car today. Eating the most expensive bag of salted almonds ever from the minibar in my room and trying not to cry.

ilovecherries · 16/07/2017 20:21

Actually, they can't even make me a sandwich. All they can do is supply me with a plastic triangle pre-made sandwich that they've had sent in. Ffs :(

Fathead pepperoni

Week 8 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - two months almost done ...
OldBooks · 16/07/2017 20:33

Ilove that sounds crappy

YoLo I usually search for something like 'lchf recipes' and then pin all the fatbombs things that take my fancy to my 'healthy for life' board

C4pinkwheels · 16/07/2017 20:53

Ilovecherries order a tandoori to be delivered

MOIST · 16/07/2017 20:56

ILove that is too crap. Any chance of a take out delivery?

MOIST · 16/07/2017 20:58

How many baby bells should I eat for a nibbly snackette?

AdalindSchade · 16/07/2017 21:12

Explode them and then 2 will be more than enough

AdalindSchade · 16/07/2017 21:14

Omg ate chick peas for the first time in 2 months and my belly is not happy! Farting like a trooper and look 6 months pregnant Shock

MOIST · 16/07/2017 21:14

I had 3 Blush. I ham hormonal and my uterus is paining.

ilovecherries · 16/07/2017 21:25

No chance of a takeaway. It's 30 miles to the nearest town. I'm in bed. They'd better bloody well have breakfast.

ilovecherries · 16/07/2017 21:29

I decided the only way I could be safe from going out to the car park and liberating the rest of the G&B gift box from the boot was to get naked.

Veryflummoxed · 16/07/2017 21:30

Cherries that would make me cry too FlowersFlowers
Oldbooks the pizza looks good. I've never had the fat head pizza. Previously there's been a lot of mention of Meatzza on bootcamp but I've not had it for ages, think of it every time I see the fathead ones.

MOIST · 16/07/2017 21:40

Meatzza???? Tell me more!

As a recently ex-veggie I can't get enough meat. I am slightly ashamed of myself.
