Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

Morning! Can someone give me an ingredients list or good recipe for the fathead pizza base? I have ground almonds.

I got the promotion by the way :)

Copperas · 01/07/2017 07:35

Moist, glad you survived the event ok. What's the sugar doing to your guts? It has a bad effect on me. I'm increasingly aware of how the sugar trade drove so much of how our world currently is - slave trade, vast amounts of money generated from the West Indies pouring into Europe, European expansion and domination - but now I'm wondering about its effects on people's health. The effect on teeth is well known but was there a rise in dyspepsia too in the 17th century? I think there was a switch from using prunes as a sweetener so perhaps there was a double effect!

Copperas · 01/07/2017 07:37

Congratulations on the promotion!

AdalindSchade · 01/07/2017 07:39

Thanks! :)

JiminnyCricket · 01/07/2017 07:48

Morning all :)

Yesterday was really hard work. Tough day at work and I was just completely exhausted.

Last thing I wanted to do was go to the gym but I went and it was way harder for me than usual. Same excersises etc but I was a lot more knackered and struggling than usual so not sure what's going on there.

I also slept like the dead, complete lights out and feel like I opened my eyes 2 seconds later and it's morning Confused

Dad still wasn't stable yesterday so his op will hopefully be today.

Feeling just a bit under the weather generally, think AF may be on her way or I'm skipping back into anxiety again Sad

Either way, the food is still on track and i have wobbly fat on my legs and arms so hoping for a whoosh. Not that I'm weighing!

StuntNun · 01/07/2017 07:48

Copperas, The Case Against Sugar by Gary Taubess* is a compelling and horrifying read. He suggests that a consortium of sugar companies paid for research specifically to try and prove that artificial sweeteners were dangerous resulting in one getting banned for no good reason (it caused liver disease in rats fed absolutely massive quantities).

MOIST · 01/07/2017 08:17

Exercise is much harder when you are stressed/tired/poorly, Jim. Hope your dad improves soon.

My guts are v sensitive/irritable/intoleent at to best of times. I'm allergic to lots of things too. So I think when I avoid stuff for any length of time it irritates me when I eat some again

Copperas · 01/07/2017 08:17

Thanks for the reference - I'll follow that up.

MOIST · 01/07/2017 08:17

Pizza tonight.

BIWI · 01/07/2017 08:29

Just catching up with you all - at the end of a really busy week.

Sorry to hear things aren't going so well for you @C4pinkwheels, and I hope you see an improvement once the antibiotics kick in

... and fingers crossed for your dad's swift recovery @JiminnyCricket

Welcome @SashaSashays! Sounds to me like you're doing Bootcamp Light, so you'll fit right in here Smile Once you get used to this WOE you'll probably find you don't need to count the calories any more!

@Kleptronic - loved the dresses! And @cathyandclare you looked amazing - hope you didn't blub too much.

Right that's all I have time for - off to the gym with my PT now. I have to confess to being a tad hungover (went to a gig last night and drank wine for the first time in a while, a bit too enthusiastically Blush)

Well done, Ada.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 01/07/2017 08:41

Well done Ada!

Interesting about the sugar Copperas, I read somewhere that it's more addictive than hard drugs & they would ban it if it was a drug. It's certainly true of me. All self control goes out of the window for me, it's either all or nothing. So I stick to nothing.

Taking DD1 to see Little Mix today, she wants to go to pizza hut for food. I usually just get chicken wings and a shedload of salad. We're taking car snacks too, so packed strawberries, pork scratchings and a cheese & chorizo pot.

Did my monthly weigh in, only 0.5lb down on last month, but my body shape is changing, I've got a muscle thigh gap now & clothes are fitting really well.

C4pinkwheels · 01/07/2017 09:27

Ada congratulations on the promotion

Jiminny can you be kind to yourself please, your life is a big bucket of stress right now so it's no wonder your body is reacting by telling you to sleep and rest more, just listen to it. Your PT will understand why your performance was a bit off yesterday. Today is a dog walk day so get out in the fresh air and enjoy the wonders of nature with those lovely dogs. I hope your dad gets his surgery today.

I'm feeling pretty rough today - GP came yesterday afternoon and was concerned as my chest sounds a bit noisy so have a telephone conversation booked with my consultant at 10:00am. I really want to stay out of hospital as we have a rare night out booked, early dinner with another couple and then theatre to watch a musical production of Silver Darlings the score was written by the husband of a close friend.

Food today:

B ff yogurt and blueberries
L fathead pizza and salad
D probably steak and salad

AdalindSchade · 01/07/2017 09:32

Thanks!

Did anyone quit smoking using the Allen Carr book? I remember the days after every time my habitual brain would think 'have a cigarette' and then I would get this realisation that oh no, I don't actually want one! That's how I feel now with sugar. Can any long term low carbers tell me if that feeling sticks around? I know it will need maintenance just like any recovery from addiction but am I in the recovery high period? I'm still a non smoker 6 years on Grin

dustmotesinthesun · 01/07/2017 09:45

Congratulations on the promotion Ada. And yes i think that feeling last. A lot of baked goods look pretty reulsive to me now.

I know some fats go rancid. If your flax bread smells fishy i'd buy a new batch of fresher flax meal.

Doing fine here and very relieved to have got through my low patch yesterday.

I've been invited on a date. Not til the weekend after next but it will be at a swanky bar in central London attached to a posh hotel. Is it ok to wear a dress? I don't go out on a Saturday night much. The guy who has asked me said it was a 'casual' bar but in the photos it doesn't look so casual. I don't want to get it wrong or look overdressed. Have a few black dresses to choose from. I really want to dress up given I don't want go out much. We are having cocktails and going onto supper if we hit it off.

Cherrypi · 01/07/2017 09:57

Went for my first lane swim since starting boot camp and felt great. Yes I know it's week 6. I've been a bit lazy on the exercise front. Weight has really stabilised this week not seeing the big ups and downs anymore. Need to remember to drink water as creeping back to my old zero water ways.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 01/07/2017 10:00

Well done on the promotion, Ada!
The fathead pizza looks delicious as do the sausage rolls.
I've woken up with a killer migraine this morning which is unusual. Normally, they come with my period but I'm mid-cycle so no idea what's triggered this! LC is going to be hard for me today as usually the only thing I can stomach is fairly starchy carbs. It's the only thing which settles the nausea. I may have to do damage limitation and have some potato...

SayrraT · 01/07/2017 10:15

Out last night to celebrate a friend finally obtaining his PhD so I did have wine and gin and chips. I go out so rarely that I'm happy to take the hit on any weight loss. Last time I was out or had a drink was Christmas (I don't drink at home or if OH and I are out).

Had to come to work again this morning so in Sainsbury's having breakfast.

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 01/07/2017 10:57

I'm hungover. Again. I seem to have all the self restraint of a bloody toddler.
Yesterday I met up with some knitting friends for a wander round the London yarn shops, bought far too much yarn and ended up in the pub. Then met a friend I haven't seen for ages and carried on drinking.
There was an almost food disaster, in that one of the evening meals seemed to be courgetti, and it was but mixed with pasta Hmm
Luckily a friend swapped, so I ate the mushrooms out of her mushroom tart and had some asparagus and chicken.
Drinking buckets of coffee

MOIST · 01/07/2017 11:05

I'm not hung over but tired and got the munchies. I'm frying chicken thighs and going to do nothing but crochet and watch poldark.

MOIST · 01/07/2017 11:23

Argh. Just realised I'm going on holiday on Wednesday and I'm still bloody fat. And I know I'll drink too much and eat chips.

C4pinkwheels · 01/07/2017 11:53

Moist why would you sabotage the work that you've done on bootcamp? You can be better than that you can go on holiday and not drink too much or eat chips if you want to.

MOIST · 01/07/2017 12:00

I know. And I will be ok. Going to Greece so lots of good LC stuff. And I will avoid the carby shit. But I am an all or nothing kind of woman and weird and obsessive fear that if I slip I'll be daft and slip badly.

C4pinkwheels · 01/07/2017 12:08

Moist best to wear some (imaginary) non slip shoes to ensure you don't slip, obsess about LCHF instead. Five years ago half way through a wonderful holiday in a lovely all inclusive resort l got fed up with feeling rubbish every day from over indulging in free champagne that I decided to stay dry for the rest of the holiday. I haven't over indulged in booze on holiday since then, it makes the holiday more enjoyable and makes me feel very smug happy.

C4pinkwheels · 01/07/2017 12:12

Dust you can't go wrong with a black dress and some chic accessories, go for classy chic with a killer clutch bag.
