Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

Scooby and C4 Flowers

I had a pub lunch today, naked burger with the most beautiful mushroom Stilton sauce on it. Wanted to sleep with it, it was so lovely. Grin

C4pinkwheels · 29/06/2017 17:31

I'm home, wasn't prepared to sit in my wheelchair any longer, it's really not good for me and the doctor on duty was determined to treat my ketosis and I wasn't going to let a doctor wreck the whole of bootcamp for me.

I am a bit aghast at DH though - he has gone out to his dinner tonight, not a client but an industry jolly so not essential for business and I'm sure he could have delegated it to someone. So I'm home and don't know what to have for dinner. Picked a ton of salad yesterday but not in a salad mood but don't want to bust a gut cooking. DS and DIL not here this evening, both back tomorrow afternoon.

If anyone is around give me some ideas - I have lots of eggs

Naschkatze · 29/06/2017 17:57

C4 Cream cheese pancakes? I've found them really quick, pretty easy and filling (if you've got the cream cheese or substitute.)

Giraffeski · 29/06/2017 17:58

@c4 I have a very quick dish for you,
Do you have any chopped tomatoes/ peppers? You could do a sort of shaksuka thing I sometimes have- fry half a shallot and some roughly chopped pepper, sometimes I add courgette or any other suitable veg I have in the fridge. Add garlic, chilli and chopped tomatoes, season, cook down a bit and put in a little casserole dish. then crack a couple of eggs into it, cover with grated Parmesan and bake until the eggs are set.

C4pinkwheels · 29/06/2017 18:02

Giraffeski sounds yummy just in the fridge getting ingredients together

nekobus · 29/06/2017 18:07

C4 good to hear you are home - and hope you find yummy egg recipe. Saw one online today - put slices of cooked LC sausage (could be any cooked meat or veg really) in small dish (like a big ramekin), splash of cream and then crack 2 eggs in and oven for 10 mins then grate cheese over and back in oven until egg white firm. Going to try that soon Smile

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 29/06/2017 18:25

C4 the microwave scrambled eggs I have every morning are lovely. Just crack however many eggs you like into a bowl, add butter, add whatever else you like, & salt, if you're me! Nuke in microwave for about 90 secs, or until it's however done you like it. Or let me know if you want me to drop something off, won't be until later though.

Scooby - how do you feel about it? You didn't sound sure in your post.

randomuntrainedcuntowner · 29/06/2017 18:27

Omg just made pimientos de padron - amazing and so easy! My new favourite to enjoy green peppers! 😊

dustmotesinthesun · 29/06/2017 18:39

Fritatta c4? You can stick anything in it and it's quick. I hope your dh makes it up to you.

I made my chia and hemp loaf. It smelled a bit hippyish for my liking Wink but was delicious. Very low carb and really bread like especially when it first came out the oven and was all warm. I ate some with butter. Will weight myself tomorrow to see if its had an impact. But I can't think it will have.

I definitely feel slimmer today. Trousers are baggier.

dustmotesinthesun · 29/06/2017 18:39

Congratulations Scooby btw. Flowers

ragz134 · 29/06/2017 18:42

Good day all...
c4 glad to see you're home and not feeling too rubbish. Did the doctor not understand about ketosis? Did they do a finger prick blood glucose?
jim hope your shoulder recovers from tyre trauma. Those fat tablets are awful, make your poo all smelly and floaty! My sister's partner used them and he did lose weight but they made him feel rubbish.

I am really struggling to keep my mouth shut about this WOE at work. We had a patient today who can't have surgery she needs as she has to lose weight and says she can't as she needs a knee replacement so she can't exercise. Doctor did try to tell her that weight loss is mostly diet, but the only recommendation he had was to reduce calories. I really wanted to tell her all about LCHF but I'm a student and not allowed to give advice. Especially not advice that isn't NHS approved (yet).

I'm wondering if I can be some kind of weight loss nurse low carb specialist for diabetes one day. Surely the NHS will catch up eventually, I know some diabetes nurses are now advising to reduce carbs but it isn't universal.

Food today
7:00 - slice of halloumi while making lunch!
13:15 - kale and halloumi. Yogurt and cream.
17:30 - courgette Parmesan fritter things, burger, cheddar cheese, halloumi (3 cheese meal!)

Had a stressed few days as I have an essay due that I'm struggling with, 4 days a week on placement and loads on with kids and I feel rather overwhelmed. Had a cry last night and feel better today. I did have dark chocolate with peanut butter and a vodka and soda last night, but wasn't even tempted to be a carby twat, so that's good.

Need to do some exercise as I've missed karate the last few weeks. Keep saying I'll do push ups at home and never do them...

Notso · 29/06/2017 19:14

Scooby Flowers

Pretty much did a 24 hour fast through bad planning today.
B -oxo drink and cup of tea
L-individual portion of peanut butter and a black coffee
D- goats cheese, cucumber, little gem, bacon and mayo
Amazed I wasn't more hungry, this would be unthinkable before this WOE I'd have scoffed crisps and toast while waiting for my dinner to cook.

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 29/06/2017 19:18

Thanks everyone! I am happy, we've already got one and we've been actively careless for a couple of months. I don't know why, I just had in my head that it was going to take alot longer. We don't actually get around to having sex that much Blush

Slightly gutted because its my birthday tomorrow and a had a full evening of raucous debauchery planned which is going to have to be toned down considerably Grin

Whats the deal with low carb pregnancy? Last time I just ate toast constantly for 9 months.

Glad you home C4!

ChesterDrawers · 29/06/2017 19:32

Scooby congrats, lovely news

C4 glad you are home and feeling a bit better.

ClearEyes sorry, I should have explained myself better. DS regularly goes to my parents or the in-laws for a sleepover when we have a night out but they live too far away in this case as it's a school night and he'll need to be here in the morning.

ASDismynormality · 29/06/2017 19:33

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh. Congratulations, lovely news x

Naschkatze · 29/06/2017 19:41

Scooby woohoo Congratulations! How old is your first? My DH wants a small age gap.. I'm Hmm about how we find the time.
Agree, I ate ALL the carbs during my pregnancy. I practically lived off salt and vinegar hula hoops for the first 9 weeks!

DS was up a lot of the night last night and I've been struggling with cravings because I'm so tired. However, he's been pretty hard work through the day, so I've barely had time to eat. I've probably had too much tea and semi skimmed milk though.
Food today:
Brunch - 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, fried mushrooms and scrambled eggs. (DH cooked to cheer me up!)
Lunch/Dinner - bolognaise and courgetti
Snacks - salted peanuts, 2 cups of tea, coffee with almond milk.
Unsure yet whether I'm going to eat again before bed, our lunch/dinner was at 3pm and I'm not yet hungry. Will probably eat the leftover chicken thigh and broccoli that is in the fridge.

BIWI · 29/06/2017 19:41

@ChesterDrawers I'm sorry but I'd be really angry with my DH if he was as controlling as that Angry It's all very well for him, being away with work, not being there to take responsibility for domestic issues - how dare he say who can and can't come into your home!

If it's about trust, find a local agency, where the babysitters will be vetted - and then once they've come once, and they've met your DH, then they won't be strangers.

Don't let him call the shots. You deserve to be able to get your own free time as well as he does!

C4pinkwheels · 29/06/2017 19:53

Scooby congratulations, amazing news

Chest so when your DH is away does he sit in his hotel room and eat room service or is he allowed to socialise? It's hard sometimes when we come to live a life that becomes normal but is anything but, he may not do it out of malice, it could be copied behaviour but it is a form of coercive control, you need to talk.

Dinner was yum, I'm in the bath

styledilemma · 29/06/2017 19:56

I managed to get on some scales.
I'm really pleased! I haven't put any weight on! Smile
despite drinking 2 large glasses of wine every night Blush
Having dessert one night I couldn't resist
and eating hidden sugar in certain foods.
I also got fed up with ordering salad with every meal, so had a few (very small portions) of things like sweet potatos and new potatoes. We're talking just a 'taste' but still, carbs is carbs.

A little voice tried to tell me
''You've blown it now, you might as well eat what you want for the rest of the holiday, because you will have gained all the weight back and some.
You have FAILED"

But I knocked it on the head and thought to myself

''Well yes, you have had some things you weren't supposed to, but you are on holiday, don't be so tough on yourself.
Plus, there are also things you've been very good about.
I didn't have any of the complimentary biscuits that they put on the coffee tray every day. I usually eat my own and OH's
I didn't have any ice cream. I can quite easily eat two/three a day on holiday
Not one cream tea passed my lips. I usually have about two of those
I didn't snack on the car journey on the way to the hotel. Usually it's non stop 'boredom' eating on car journeys
I haven't snacked at all.
I kept up with my water intake.

So all in all it's been a success. I still have a couple of days before I come home, but I think if I'm careful not to snack and stick to the main meals and try my best to choose low carb options, I should come back from the holiday fairly unscathed and weighing the same as before I went.

Even better, I've even allowed myself a few 'controlled' treats.
Of course, I will really reign it in when I get back.

It's made me realize that we are doing better than we think and we should be proud of ourselves.
It's not easy navigating being away from home, At home we have easy access to low carb snacks.

So,
KOKO
Namasta! Bitches! Wink

styledilemma · 29/06/2017 19:58

OOps that's a bit of a long post Blush

styledilemma · 29/06/2017 20:07

I've just caught up with the happy news.
Congratulations Scooby! Flowers
C4 ~Glad you're home
jimminy Hope your dad feels better soon.

FinallyHere · 29/06/2017 20:09

Oh ragz weight loss nurse low carb specialist for diabetes one day

Pleased to see that www.diabetes.co.uk has come over to the LCHF approach to counter diabetes. It's a relatively recent change but they did have the grace to admit that they had got it wrong and that it was the weight of informed opinion from diabetics insisting that the NHS advice was wrong for them, that caused them to change.

FinallyHere · 29/06/2017 20:16

Congratulations Scooby

C4 There are no words. If you want us to march on the GPs and/or the hospital, just say the word.

ilovecherries · 29/06/2017 20:17

Congratulations, Scooby!

C4, hope you have a decent evening and feel better once the ABs kick in.

My food today
B: fasting
L: omelette and salad (in a restaurant, so the salad was a bit more carby than I'd make - had a few sweet corn, grated carrot and grated beetroot in, and it was too finely chopped and well mixed to separate but if that's my biggest holiday aberration, it's not bad!)
D: drumsticks, huge green salad (spinach, avocado, celery, green pepper, cucumber, olives), loads of olive oil
S: some salted almonds (35gm packet), coffee

Notso · 29/06/2017 20:21

I saw a recipe on my Facebook from www.diabetes.co.uk for cauliflower hash browns they looked delicious but contained cornflour which I thought was carby. Is that right and if so could I replace with coconut flour?
