I know, @dustmotes, once I stopped feeling sick, I was really angry. (I bought it from Lidl ftr - although it's been in my cupboard for ages so I can't take it back).
I ate a good 1/3 of the bowl, too. I was eating so fast that it took a while for the WRONG to dawn. And for a while I was wondering if it was the 100% dark chocolate I'd just eaten warping my taste buds.
I weighed the putrid liquid left in the bottle before throwing it away, though, and worked out I put 10ml over the food. So at a generous estimate, I consumed 5ml (probably less) - which is only 2.5g carbs.
And weirdly, I now don't regret the experience, as I think it's taught me something about measuring my mistakes. Normally I don't log the carbs I eat when I break because I feel too guilty and angry, but because this wasn't my fault, I did log. And it wasn't that bad, and I feel like I'm still in control.
So hopefully I can take that forward to when/if I do make mistakes myself.
I have a weird 'technical' question. After enjoying Montezuma's 'Absolute Black' 100% dark chocolate (8g carbs) I went to look at the Hotel Chocolat options - as I remembered they had fancy 100% chocolate bars.
Strangely, their 100% chocolate bars are all around 20g carbs. Even though both theirs and Montezuma's list 'cocoa mass' as the only ingredient.
How is this possible?
Out of curiosity, I looked at some of their other chocolate, and the 90% dark is higher in carbs (although lower in sugar) than the 85%.
Does anyone have any explanations for this?
