Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

Thanks Biwi. It's a bit of a treat and keeping carbs in other foods low for the rest of the day. I didn't care much for shirataki noodles when I tried them before but perhaps I should give them another go

dustmotesinthesun · 28/06/2017 21:43

Am still here. Had a good food day. Well done me pats self on back

Am thinking of going and buying cheese tomorrow. It's ages since i had dairy and i need to mix things up a bit.

No idea what type of cheese bit will see what takes my fancy at a nice deli near here.

Am quite excited really Wink

dustmotesinthesun · 28/06/2017 21:45

Has anyone here tried this hemp seed bread? It looks good. I've had a pack sitting in my cupboard for ages and am tempted to try it. With my cheese you understand.

Sunborn · 28/06/2017 21:45

I just had the worst dinner!

It was meant to be (sashimi grade) tuna over broccoli with soy sauce. I was starving. Looking forward to it immensely.

Made it all. Started eating. And it was just... sweet.

Initially I thought the tuna was off, or that maybe my taste buds had changed so much that it was tasting sweeter than it should.

And then I got worried that something was wrong with me - like I was having some sort of stroke or something.

I stopped eating, and went to check the soy sauce bottle to see if there was anything odd added.

Lo and bloody behold! Not soy sauce at all. 99% sugar and water, I've just (liberally) doused my dinner in.

It is truly the foulest thing I've ever made. It has been consigned to the bin, and I am going to bed.

Moral of the story - trust nothing.

@GoodBadorIndifferent - sorry, I did have a look at your post, and also did a search on your previous posts, but work got in the way so I haven't had time to comment on them Blush

Having looked - albeit briefly - at your posts on the previous weeks' Bootcamp threads, there are three things I'd say:

1 - there seems to be a lot of dairy in your day, so it's possible that you have an issue here, so worth trying to drop that for a few days and see what happens

2 - you mention lapses with alcohol fairly frequently; this won't be helping you at all. Can you see what happens if you give this up for a week?

3 - you have also mentioned several positive things that have resulted from the low carbing, even if the scales haven't moved - can you try nd focus on the positive aspects?!

So much on the thread today! Star for all the great losses and NSVs, Flowers for everyone having a shitty time, and Hmm for nosy ladies in supermarkets!

I have binged today, there is no other word for eating despite not being hungry. Was proud because was at looooong team meeting with huge spread of cake, biscuits, chocolate and sweets - and I touched nothing. But then totally ignored body signals to have strawberries and cream even though was full up from lunch. Cross with myself. But also doing a woe where appetite is controlled shows me just how much eating I do just from habit. Lots to take forward.

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 28/06/2017 22:04

Hi BIWI totally get the work thing. I've just finished my 40th hour in the past 3 days.
I've cut down on the dairy, but may try and stop it for a bit. Finally I'm not so bloody exhausted so it doesn't seem so awful.
You are right about the booze. I'm very bad at bad day = wine.

There are positives. Whenever I check my fasting glucose it's under 5 (previous gestational diabetic) I can fit into a dress and a pair of jeans I couldn't before. I don't have the mid morning hunger anymore. I have the motivation to exercise.
The scales are not my friends, but I'm an impatient impatient woman and finding the lack of movement hard.
Once again BIWI thank you!

cabbage67 · 28/06/2017 22:11

Oh sunborn thats the worst. I feel your disappointment.

2lbs down today, so I am very happy with that.

I'm not sure if this is a NSV or not, but this morning when I was in my gym kit, DH said how much he thought my body had changed and if he couldn't see my head he wouldn't recognise me (I'm sure there's a compliment in there somewhere). DS (13) agreed I'd lost weight but I said i just wished my thighs would catch up as they look bigger as the rest of me is getting smaller and he said - I was just going to say that! Again, I'm taking that.

Food today:

Hunger woke me up this morning and was fasting until 9 but managed to hold off until 10 when I had a bit of FF yog and 2 strawberries
L: 4 crackers I'd made with 2 slices of ham with a smidge of mayo on and a bit of chorizo ring. (a shit lunch really)
D: lamb chops with baked aubergine thingy and tzatiki
S: creamy coffee and 4 crackers I'd made
3 litres water
Day 7 of The Shred

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 28/06/2017 22:15

Sadly I could taste the sugar in my paneer korai so had to scrape the lovely sauce off Sad

HemanOrSheRa · 28/06/2017 22:49

I'm going to make fathead pizza on Friday! Just doing my shopping order - is everyone using pre grated mozzarella or buying the block and grating their own? I'm worried about the potato starch in the grated.

Talking of pizza I have leetle problem - DS is making pizza this week and next week (don't ask and don't mention the salad Mother Confused) at school. He is sooooo looking forward to it. I'm going to have to try some when the finished dish arrives home finally on Monday. It won't do much harm will it?

C4pinkwheels · 29/06/2017 00:10

Thank you to everyone for the support again today, if it gets too much please tell me to go away and shut up.

Nameless not sure what you mean

C4 well that makes more sense. So that isn't what your final prognosis was, and did your dietician then misread your notes and give you that figure? That's disgraceful.

The parts of my body that are paralysed won't ever recover, I have one fully functioning limb💪🏼 my left arm, no feeling or sensation from my knees down, a tiny bit of function in the muscles on the front of my thighs, no feeling or sensation from the top three inches of my legs to just above my navel, some patchy sensation in my upper torso, a right arm that is agony all the time and has about 10% normal function.
That's the outside - inside is a whole other post, but I have a spine full of very complex metal work, a paralysed diaphragm, no bowel or bladder function and use non invasive ventilation to stay alive - about 10 hours out of every 24. None of this will ever change so the dieticians assumption although totally useless was factually correct in places.

Ilovecherries it sounds like you've had a really rough ride, I'm glad you discovered LCHF

Jiminny I hope your dad makes a speedy recovery. Well done for not being a carby twat,I love your trolley moment you should have bowed at the end of your exchange and said namaste bitches

Dustmotes I love the fact that so many of us can relate to each other's problemsFlowers

Namechange thanks for the link, I think lots of medics panic when they are faced with someone like me and people who aren't experts in SCI's shouldn't really be dishing out advice. I don't mind you looking it up, I'm really grateful, thank you.

Chest you shouldn't feel bad about being down and coming here for support, all of our problems are relative, I really hope you get your night out - make a list of each bit of the house you want to tackle and do a little bit each day, I really hope you get your night out.

Stunt part of my problem is I don't get hungry, if I only ate when I'm hungry it would be every third day.

I need to buy some belly pork it looks delish and I'm going to make a fat head pizza at the weekend.

Well done everyone for KOKO

styledilemma · 29/06/2017 05:57

Ican't believe the cheek of the trolley woman, how rude! Glad you shut her up, I wonder if she's googling LCHF as she endures yet another hideous muller light or quark based creation. I remember being told off for eating an avocado.

I really want someone to comment on my trolley. Grin

styledilemma · 29/06/2017 06:11

I k ow what people mean about hidden sugar. I'm on holiday and.

at last night's meal I thought I was doing the right thing by ordering lamb tagine, it was least carby sounding meal on the menu.
I left the cous cous, but it tasted so sweet! it had to have had sugar in it. I was hungry so ate it anyway Hmm

StuntNun · 29/06/2017 07:08

Style it probably had dried fruit in it.

NamelessEnsign · 29/06/2017 07:28

C4 sorry it has been a hectic week and I might have misread your post Blush. I thought the dietician was reading notes from an early prognosis that changed, but didn't pay attention to the change iyswim. Ignore me. But nonetheless anything I can find suggests that 600 is too low.

JiminnyCricket · 29/06/2017 07:28

So I had a hell class with the PT last night and she had me flipping tractor tires, pulling her plus 80kgs on a weights sledge up and down the gym and pushing her about on the crawler Hmm that plus 26 other weight sections and a rowing machine!

I was the good kind of knackered afterwards and she's really happy I kept going, she was tougher on me than normal because I was clearly working out some frustrations and she wanted to show how working out is good for mental health. She's right, you can't think about anything else when she's pushing you harder, so it takes you into the moment rather than worrying about other stuff.

I felt much more peaceful last night, went to see dad straight from the gym and he still hasn't had surgery. His pancreas is causing some stability issues so the doctors aren't yet hugely happy to put him under. Hopefully he'll be operated on this morning.

I did the food shop yesterday and the only treat food I bought myself was strawberries and cream Grin was going to have them last night but wasn't hungry, so they will be a weekend lunch :)

Today:
B: coconut oil in coffee
L: antipasti and maybe salad
D: BELLY PORK GrinGrinGrin

stunt glad the recipe worked for you too Grin

Is the weight coming off anyone else in odd places?

I've lost all my back fat and my waist has lost a lot of inches, but my bottom half (bum, apron, thighs) are all still huge Confused its like I'm losing it off my top half first. Ive only ever lost 2 stone before at any one time, but back then it came off all of me pretty evenly. Is this an LCHF thing?

ilovecherries · 29/06/2017 07:38

Well, this morning my lower belly is sort of lopsided and lumpy feeling (under the skin lumpiness, not deep lumps in my abdomen or anything). And itching like hell :(. I'm hoping this means something is happening. It's odd, because it seemed to all go on fairly evenly, but it's certainly not coming off that way. And did I mention the itch??? The other place that is itching is above my knees, and I've suddenly realised that the bulge above my knees was fat, not muscle :(. However, one kneecap seems to be much more visible that the other now.

StuntNun · 29/06/2017 08:01

That sounds brutal Jiminny Shock she is working you hard. Quite often on this WOE the visceral fat around the organs is lost first so that's why the weight goes from the upper abdomen area initially. I hope your dad is on the mend today.

That sounds like the fabled squishy fat Cherries. Someone upthread posted about keto itch, are you very low on carbs?

ilovecherries · 29/06/2017 08:13

Yes, Stunt it was me moaning about keto itch a couple of weeks ago as well. It went away but has come back as bad as ever. It reminds me exactly of the itch I used to get when I was wearing morphine patches a couple of years ago - an itch you couldn't quite find, but drove you quietly crazy. I probably am still fairly low carb - not quite strict bootcamp because I'm having some berries every day, a few cherry tomatoes most days, peppers and onions used in cooking, and one square of 99% chocolate if I feel like it with coffee with cream after dinner, but otherwise my carbs are either from the odd piece of cheese, a splash of cream in scrambled eggs and masses of green veg. I'm eating a lot of veg! I feel incredibly well at the moment - better than I have for years - it really is just the itch, and it seems to mainly be over areas where I have/had a lot of obvious fat.

ilovecherries · 29/06/2017 08:15

I'm also adding fat (mainly olive oil) to everything and drinking masses. Losing count but well over three litres.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 29/06/2017 08:18

HeMan eat the toppings only.

I felt terrible last night, really tired & had a bit of a dicky tummy. So I didn't have the planned roast pork. DH wasn't hungry either so just laid out some rollitos, olives, sundried toms & mozzarella. Only had a couple of the rollitos before having to retire to the bathroom & bed.

Feel ok today though, so back on it.

AdalindSchade · 29/06/2017 08:19

Morning campers!
C4 the best thing about a support thread like this is getting to know other people a bit and supporting with all sorts. It would be a bit boring if we just posted daily food plans and weigh ins. Whatever it helps you to post here, you post.

So everyone must always listen to BIWI and stunt and the other gurus. BIWI said I would stall in weeks 3-4 and I did, then lost. Stunt said if my periods were screwy then I was losing fat even if the scales didn't show it and she was right. Thank you! To anyone who is doubting - trust them! They know their shit.
