Morning campers!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some good losses reported already this morning!

Four weeks left, so we could still see a good half stone disappear if we're vigilant.

The hot weather looks like it's disappearing this week, so hopefully anyone still struggling with water retention should find some relief.

But good luck to us all

@ClearEyesFullHearts thank you so much! You're right, I do know. I'm just exercising hard right now and so I feel like I'm due some rewards.

It doesn't help that all the LC snacks in my office have run out, and I'm starving and stuck here for the next 90 minutes.

I've promised myself a LC snack from M&S on the way home.

Yes, the food is delicious :). I can't wait for dinner. The Japan Centre in London does the nicest fish. This tuna cost £8, but I have no regrets. It looks brilliant.

@Kleptronic - thank you! I must admit, I mostly weighed because I'd, err, gone, earlier and so was sneakily hoping for a loss - maybe even a whoosh. No whoosh. I'm going to stop weighing until Monday now and just focus on the food.

Maybe the exercise has made me retain water? You're right. The trend is down. I just have to focus on the positives.

Thank you everyone! I feel better having ranted.

I can't believe the cheek of the trolley woman, how rude! Glad you shut her up, I wonder if she's googling LCHF as she endures yet another hideous muller light or quark based creation. I remember being told off for eating an avocado.

My weigh day today I lost the two alcohol pounds I put on after Father's Day and another pound. 12 off in total. Had an NSV yesterday too DH asked me if I'd bought new foundation as my skin looked good, I wasn't wearing any!
B creamy coffee and two sausages
L celeriac and leek mash with crispy bacon
D IBIH corned beef cauliflower hash with a bit of Parmesan and a green salad
Far too much processed meat Hmm

Sunborn · 28/06/2017 16:53

@ShastaBeast haha, yep, I'm a big fan of the stretchy dress. I have a 2 stone range in which I can largely wear the same wardrobe. Tight waistbands are not a feature of my wardrobe (except at the higher end of the range where the limits of stretch fabric become tested).

I will consign myself back to weekly weighs. It'll be a good motivation to behave this weekend.

Checking in, long day at work and very frustrating, got give a bottle of red by a students but I'm going to keep it till the end of term I am I am

Feeling much better today, less headache.
B. Coffee and spoon of alpro yoghurt, we were up late so I had to eat my planned bfast at 9.30, omelette with greens
L. Chicken, some veg and that mayo in lettuce leaves. I've got to really like this and have had it daily.
D. Got trout and celeriac mash plus asparagus. Looking forward to it, haven't got sauce though, thought I could fry a few mushrooms in fake soft cheese

Best of all, I weighed myself today and 2lbs down from Friday, only been doing this properly since Monday really! Amazing!

I'm on my phone and can't see names but the pp who was feeling overwhelmed, I feel like that too, so much. I eventually looked at free online counselling with the NHS, it's great, mostly cbt. I think it's helping, along with getting time for myself when I can but mostly just the cbt stuff to help in stressful situations at work and with the kids at home. Plus just prioritising things like looking after myself over having a clean house, although having a clean and clutter free house definitely makes me feel calmer.

MOIST · 28/06/2017 17:40

I'm having a very non-hungry day.

B. Egg mayonnaise
L. Strawberries (there was a big buffet, sandwiches, crisps, cake, carbs)
S. Fried aubergine leftovers
D. I have stir fried some veggies and have some beef burger things but don't fancying them at all. So I'm having cream coffee instead

MOIST · 28/06/2017 17:41

And I've just remembered I'm supposed to be eating out this evening at god club. No idea what will be on offer. Damn.

StuntNun · 28/06/2017 17:54

It's in the oven Jiminny apart from the slice that accidentally slipped into my mouth between slow cooker and oven.

NamelessEnsign · 28/06/2017 18:21

(What is left of) fathead pizza. Drooooool.

Week 6 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - we're racing on!
nekobus · 28/06/2017 18:46

Drool indeed! Haven't managed to make fathead yet, tomorrow I'll give it a go.

I got the cocoa nut butter from Ocado (it's on offer) then saw it in Sainsbury's too but can't remember if it was the same offer Confused

Had roast chicken, cauliflower and broccoli tonight with lots of butter and the fat off the gravy.

marioncole · 28/06/2017 18:56

I'm still here, still bootcamping (although I haven't been updating the spreadsheet). I've now lost 1st 6lbs since mid-April, which is half way to my target. It's easy to carry on when you can see the results. I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I could definitely see a difference in my hips/thighs. I'm going on holiday at the end of August and I would really like to be at/close to my target then. That's 20lbs in 8 weeks, which is a stretch but I'll be close. DH has gone off to New Zealand for the next two weeks which means my portions will be smaller and I'm less likely to eat if I'm not hungry. Sorry, that was just a long stream of consciousness!

Kleptronic · 28/06/2017 19:02

Sunborn it could absolutely be water retention due to exercise. The muscles store glycogen after a workout, which attracts water. 1g glycogen to 2.7g water, according to the Livestrong website.

Naschkatze · 28/06/2017 19:20

I'm clearly going to have to petition my local Sainsbury's to stock the cocoa nut butter... or is it worth driving 15 miles to the larger store?

Fathead pizza looks and sounds amazing. But the recipe looked a bit of a faff?!

Food today:
B - Cream cheese pancakes, a few berries, a spoon of Greek yogurt.
S - Coffee and almond milk.
L - 3 slices salami, cucumber as crackers with butter and pate, small piece of cheese.
S - roasted peanuts, tea.
D - fried chicken thigh, skin on. Roasted brocolli and swede chips. These are my new favourite!! I used to love sweet potato chips but I think swede is even better!

StuntNun · 28/06/2017 19:21

Jiminny's pork belly recipe is lush. I didn't manage the leek gravy since DS4 was playing up but it was still yummy - tender pork belly with crispy fat.

Cat vomit on the carpet!!!!!!!!! Yuk

ClearEyesFullHearts · 28/06/2017 19:33

marioncole that's great progress. Really well done!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 28/06/2017 19:33

Cat vomit anywhere, really...

NamelessEnsign · 28/06/2017 19:58

Nasch DH has made it for me both times Blush. He said it was easier than normal pizza base from scratch and would be easier if we bought pre-grated mozzarella. Honestly though it is so delicious. Yum.

Yesterday I had cauliflower rice (baked; also delicious, even the kids like it) with Parmesan coated courgette, and green beans. Delicious. Fasted 16:8 today but was hungry by 11am (usually ok until 12:30) so broke the fast with two boiled eggs.

Naschkatze · 28/06/2017 20:03

Nameless I'll get DH on it then. We usually make pizza from scratch.
He owes me anyway - poor love is tired. He worked from 9 till 1, went out for a few beers, came home to dinner ready and is now asleep on the sofa while I deal with an overtired teething baby... AngryHmm Bloody lucky he's amazing most of the time!

imustbepatient · 28/06/2017 20:34

The fathead pizza recipe is easier to make than it looks, definitely worth trying.

And on the cracker subject from upthread, I make these ones and find them pretty straight forward too, esp when you've made them a couple of times.

thenourishedcaveman.com/easy-grain-free-crackers/

They are divine and everyone who tries them loves them, most of whom aren't even low carb eaters.

You can get hemp seeds from Amazon, ocado, Holland and Barrett and probably other places too. Just make sure you get the shelled ones!

I add a tsp of a flavouring too, like oregano, or fennel seeds, or half a tsp of paprika etc. And I often sub one tbs of the hemp seeds with one of flaxseed, gives a lovely flavour. I use a spatula to mix it all in together, mushing it all into a big blob. Roll the blob mix out onto a silicon mat with baking paper or cling film on top, or just between two bits of baking paper. Score them into cracker shaped squares before baking at 150c for about 45min to an hour, checking to see when they feel hard.

marioncole · 28/06/2017 20:47

Thanks cleareyes Smile

L238 · 28/06/2017 20:53

Ok this may be controversial - I do try to avoid processed food where possible but was intrigued by these. They're made from fish (yes really!) and have 6.2g carb per 100g. I know that's a bit higher than desirable but they actually taste pretty good! I really miss noodles and pasta

Week 6 - Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - we're racing on!
C4pinkwheels · 28/06/2017 21:07

Cat vomit dealt with, just catching up on the thread.

BIWI · 28/06/2017 21:29

@L238 - they are really carby - you'd be far better off buying shitataki noodles, which are sold under the brand name of Bare Naked Noodles -0 Sainsbury's sell them. You can also buy them as shirataki noodles (various brand names) from an Asian supermarket - they're made from the Japanese yam, which is nothing like the vegetable we know as a yam.
