I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Thanks captain, the naan looks yummy.

Duckiesprettycrazy · 15/06/2017 22:45

I'm finding this week SO bloody difficult, it's hard to keep motivated.

CodLiverOil556 · 15/06/2017 22:48

Keep going @Duckiesprettycrazy, we're all here behind you. Have you taken measurements? Sometimes if the scales aren't moving then the tape measure is

shittymctwatface · 15/06/2017 22:57

Me to duckie!

I just want to hide in the corner and eat several dirty takeaways at once!

I've never stayed on a diet as long as this (5 weeks) but I've also normally lost more quickly - must be an age thing!!

styledilemma · 15/06/2017 23:25

Has anyone tried a carb reset day?
If yes, How does it work again? Confused
I think I've finally come to the 'scales not moving at all' ' phase.
I'm going to roll with it and hopefully another whoosh will soon follow this stagnant period.

If it doesn't, I'm trying to get a backup plan in place.

ShastaBeast · 15/06/2017 23:28

I had the toast and feel noticeably better, about 50%. I just felt so sick, weak and empty. Still only 59g of carbs so not too much of a dent long term. My body just needed quick and easy energy and I had struggled to eat enough these last few days. Could it be related to taking the pill? I started it again on Monday as my coil strings couldn't be found at my check up - going for a scan to make sure it's there and hopefully not pregnant, that would be incredibly unlucky.

B - yoghurt, cream and lemon zest and juice with creamy coffee
L - Salad, smoked salmon, olives and mozzarella
S - A few raspberries and tea with milk
D - pork loin, broccoli and courgette cooked in butter

And then the single slice of toast with butter and honey. Eeeeeek.

styledilemma · 15/06/2017 23:28

Carb Refeed not carb reset

CaptainBraandPants · 16/06/2017 05:31

Old it sounds like it could be both too little fat and electrolytes out of kilter. If you are trying to avoid dairy, then butter doesn't have the same effect, so just up the butter. You can never have too much butter. Alternatively, carry on glugging the cream (my preferred option Grin). Make sure you are cooking with salt and a mid afternoon stock drink sounds like a good idea.
shitty it was and you don't need as much as the recipe suggests. I was stuffed on half a portion.
KOKO to all those struggling. Flowers This is often the week lots of people drop out...then regret it a month down the line. Don't be one of those. It was me more than once and it's not worth it.
style I think Stunt has posted about carb refers previously. I'm not an expert, but my three thoughts from what I've read are are that:

  1. it's too early to do one and you are unlikely to need to restock your glycogen levels yet.
  2. you don't need many carbs for a refeed e.g. one course of one meal and people often go overboard.
  3. most refeeds are inadvertent and don't need scheduling. I could say I had a carb refeed on Tuesday when I had a carby, twatty afternoon Blush

I've been up with work since 4am. Sigh. Still fancy working at Jiminny's place Grin
Food today:
B:black coffee
L: leftover butter chicken, cauli rice and naan
D: moussaka and veg. Maybe tender stem broccoli and spring greens
S: creamy coffee

knottyhair · 16/06/2017 05:34

MOIST, hope you're feeling better and to others who are feeling rough. C4 glad your solo trip with grandchildren went well. Beautiful cards by the way! Jiminy how was your MIL?? And enjoy the gym today. Cabbage, I've had a kebab a couple of times on this WOE - usually go for lamb shish with undressed salad and add my own garlic mayo & chilli at home. Captain, have wanted to try that naan bread for a while, so glad to hear it was good. Hippadoppa, well done on the Shred. I love Jillian slightly obsessed with her and have an extensive collection of her DVDs if you ever want to try a different one! Shasta, sorry you're feeling rough, when is the scan? I felt very nauseous a few years ago for no particular reason and thought I had a sinus infection again (had one before and it made me feel travel sick the whole time). Turned out I was 8 weeks pregnant with DD (now 4)! Bit of a surprise at the age of 44 to say the least.
DP's birthday yesterday - I made the cherry bakewell sponge cake and didn't have any Halo. We went out for dinner and I had a small glass of dry white wine and a single gin & slimline though. But had a burger with no bun, no chips, just salad and extra bacon & cheese. Going to do a Jillian Michaels Kickboxing workout in a bit, not sure about breakfast & lunch today but some sort of salady bits with smoked salmon and prawn mayo, or maybe mushroom omelette. Dinner tonight is roasted chicken wings with salad.

ShastaBeast · 16/06/2017 06:17

Knotty what a shock. Nausea was the give away for my two pregnancies too, first completely unplanned and second very quick, no period after coming off the pill - polycystic ovaries and dieting both times. I'm pretty sure it's fine as it would be a disaster otherwise. Also hoping I'm less fertile six years after the last conception. Possibly time to look at sterilisation if the coil hasn't worked out, I have quite a few years left. No idea when the scan will be, it's nhs, I could look for a private clinic if I start panicking. googling lost iud is a bad idea. I'm sure it's fine.

Can't sleep after being woken with 7yr old banging at the door around 4am. Used a ketosis stick and it's still purple after the toast and honey. Wondering if it could be the antibiotics causing the unsettled stomach, last dose was before bed so it might easy off by tonight. Got my dad staying the weekend so an opportunity to share the low carb high fat wisdom.

littlebillie · 16/06/2017 06:31

Style carb reset day please tell this is a thing?

littlebillie · 16/06/2017 06:33

I decided to his the DP sale and thry out Size 14 they mostly fit okay 😁

cathyandclare · 16/06/2017 07:26

Style every time I've done a carb refeed I've ended up struggling to get back on track for weeks. It definitely hasn't helped with weight loss. I could just be weak-willed though!

I think it's more a thing for people who lift heavy in the gym.

JiminnyCricket · 16/06/2017 07:28

Ooooh MIL visit was a doozy, haven't got time to update now but will regale you all with the tale over a breakfast coconut coffee at 9!

C4pinkwheels · 16/06/2017 07:31

Rubbish night - but they happen. Having to stay in bed for a few hours of extra ventilation.
Then I'm going to superglue my mouth shut to do some baking for tomorrow

Food today:

B Greek yogurt
L: salad, corned beef
D: looking for inspiration

It's lovely to have appreciation for my creative endeavours so here is a quilt I made for a nephews wedding.

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Coming to the end of our first month
Mandelinka · 16/06/2017 07:42

c4 your quilts are beautiful. My mum is really crafty and always made our clothes, she can knit, sew, bake, she pickles everything and anything.... She started quilting about 4 years ago and I have some beautiful bed throws from her

knottyhair · 16/06/2017 07:44

That is beautiful C4. Looking forward to hearing all about MIL Jiminy!

cabbage67 · 16/06/2017 07:45

C4 Your creations are amazing

Thank you all for your kebab related feedback. I would like to update you all and say it was LUSH. Mixed chicken and doner, however they'd dressed it so I'm hoping it wasn't too damaging and I cast the pitta aside and didn't so much as look at the chips that we ordered for DS's.

Stepped on the scales this morning and still no loss so am going for a run on this beautiful morning.

Have a great day all

Mandelinka · 16/06/2017 07:46

hippa shred is awesome, I've discovered it early this year and could see results within the first week. I Never made it all the way to shred 3, I enjoy the first one the most. You got me inspired and I will try to to a session today

Mandelinka · 16/06/2017 07:55

Ladies, advice needed. I was kept awake with bad cramps in my legs. I stand on my feet the whole day at work and the heat doesn't help. Am I low on salt?
Thank you! 💐

AdalindSchade · 16/06/2017 08:05

Leg cramps are magnesium I think?

OldBooks · 16/06/2017 08:11

I was going to say the same, leg cramps are magnesium. Wasn't there a post upthread listing veggies that are a good source of magnesium? Or was that on one of the other threads?

Mandelinka · 16/06/2017 08:14

Hmmmm, thank you ladies.
I've been taking magnesium supplement for months now (migraine sufferer).
I'm off today so I'll make sure I rest my legs and up my salt.

Veryflummoxed · 16/06/2017 08:14

That's a beautiful quilt C4 Jimminy I can't wait for your 9am post

OldBooks · 16/06/2017 08:16

Might be the heat then, could you have been a little dehydrated? I had swollen ankles this morning Confused
