I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Doner kebab is fine! I have one a week basically Blush order it without the pitta and with salad, and have mayo to limit the carbs in sauces :)

Of course, a chicken. Kebab would be better but if you must have doner, it's a good takeaway choice :)

Asmoto · 15/06/2017 19:04

Watch out for any sauces that might find their way onto your kebab, cabbage because they might be very carby - make sure it comes 'undressed' if you decide to have one.

Asmoto · 15/06/2017 19:04

x-post with Jiminny.

JiminnyCricket · 15/06/2017 19:15

Off to see my slimming world fanatic MIL in 10 minutes.. silently prepping myself...

C4 how was your day? I bet you're knackered but did you manage to get out and about?

C4pinkwheels · 15/06/2017 19:16

Captain, scooby - Ive always been creative, made my own and kids clothes, made my own birthday & Christmas cards, was up cycling before it was a thing! So when I started to emerge from the four year post disability suicidal depression I decided that I was going to fill my life with things that gave me joy. So I have a multi purpose studio where I sew, make textile art, quilt, make cards and do mixed media art.

Here are a few bits, a valentines card and two textile art pictures made for DGC

captain I work in digital marketing which is a business entirely reliant on under 30 year old super specialised people. It's cut throat and competitive so retaining staff you've super trained to specialise is incredibly important!

I've been with my company 3 and a half years and gone through 3 promotions in that time plus a redundancy Hmm.. job security is better now I'm higher but for the assistant level guys We represent a major step up once they have experience with our company and have some big name clients on their CV's (we are googles number 1 spender internationally and the largest digital marketing agency in the world).. we hire exclusively from university leavers pretty much, so we have to do loads of random shite to keep them interested in what is essentially 11 hours in front of a screen 5 days a week.

Rounders, yoga, table tennis, Xbox ones on every floor, gym memberships, beer trolley on Fridays.. it goes on!

C4pinkwheels · 15/06/2017 19:28

Jiminny - with the amazing a weight loss you're having I would just smile sweetly and tell her you're in awe of her willpower, knowledge and dieting success while giving her the finger behind your back.

My day has gone to plan, I had a lovely brunch omelette and then pooled out in my wheelchair, I may have ever so slightly scratched the van that was parked on the pavement - there was just enough room to squeeze past it but I hold my hands up to hating inconsiderate wankers who park on the pavement not being a very good driver in my big electric wheelchair. I sat and baked in the sun outside school and then took my two munchkins for a rolo milkshake and I had a cappuccino with full fat milk and a dollop of whipped cream on top, their mum came and joined us when she finished work and I then ventured into the village supermarket to buy pate, raspberries and Edam cheese. I came home and had a rest and I'm just about to go and have a salad for dinner as I'm not really hungry.
I have a challenge tomorrow as I have promised to do some baking for a fundraiser at church on Saturday, I'm thinking of taping my mouth up to stop me licking the spatula.

YoLoZammo · 15/06/2017 19:36

C4 that sounds like a lovely outing! And your sewing creations are amazing! It's funny how doing things with your hands is so therapeutic. My stress relief is gardening. I love creating beautiful spaces with plants.

dustmotesinthesun · 15/06/2017 20:07

I'm a really keen gardener too. I don't have a garden at the moment though. It's making me sad. It's so therapeutic and creative. It's like a living art canvas isn't it that changes over time? I love it.

I have an aubergine in the fridge. I'm going to cut it into slices, dip it into egg and then almond flour and garlic granules and fry it. I'm not so hungry after my food at around 5 so oops. I'll still enjoy it.

Asmoto · 15/06/2017 20:12

I wish I could become keen on gardening - it's just a chore for me Sad. It doesn't help that it seems to rain every weekend, so when I have a chance to get rid of some weeds, by the time there's another dry spell, they've all come back again.

CaptainBraandPants · 15/06/2017 20:15

C4 beautiful work, I am now even more in awe of you. Also, sounds like you had a lovely day.
Jiminny Ok, so I'm the wrong side of 40 30 for your work. guess I'll have to stick with working for the NHS. Grin
YoLo I think you are right about the Tuesday wobbles, but as I am not weighing I don't even have that excuse.
shitty my go-to curry is the butter chicken recipe from the Idiot Proof Diet cookbook. If you haven't got the book, which is worth getting, then someone posted it on the BC recipe thread. It is a mild, but very tasty curry. We had it tonight, with turmeric cauli rice and lc naan First time I've made the naan, but it was lovely and very filling. What the recipe said was two servings, I think was four. I'm stuffed and have naan leftover for lunch tomorrow and another to put in the freeze. DH also thought it was lovely, especially dipped in the garlic butter.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 15/06/2017 20:18

C4 your creations are ace!

On day 4 of the 30 day shred and I'm seeing results already. Hopefully I should look good in my bikini in a few weeks!

Had the nicest dinner - pan fried some chicken thighs in coconut oil, added shallots, one green pepper, coconut milk, lemongrass paste, galangal paste, garlic and chilli flakes, reduced it all down together. It was blinking amazing. And only 3.3g carbs for the whole lot. Had it with soft buttery cauliflower. Heaven.

CaptainBraandPants · 15/06/2017 20:20

hippa what is galangal paste? Sounds lovely anyway.

YoLoZammo · 15/06/2017 20:27

asmoto I agree it's hard work and some things just have to be done to maintain it and that's like work: weeding, pruning, mowing the damn lawn! But planting things and watching them grow into something beautiful is so rewarding. Maybe if you revamped an area and get creative? A dry grass garden with shingle? A single colour multi-layer bed? Grow some fruit and veg?

dustmotes yes that's it exactly. Sorry to hear you haven't got a garden now.

You know it's actual science fact that gardening reduces depression, stress and improves well being and health. Physical and mental. Fact that. Grin

Asmoto · 15/06/2017 20:31

It's frustrating, Zammo because I am quite a creative person when it comes to interiors, but I can't seem to have a vision of how I would like my garden to be. If I could form a vision, I'd probably feel a bit more motivated!

C4pinkwheels · 15/06/2017 20:33

Yolo - I garden too, I've just had a salad fresh from the garden. I've not had a lot to do with the garden this year other than supervising and eating.

Billionnairewannabe · 15/06/2017 20:54

Sorry - unable to keep up with the thread as was away. 2lb up for me this week.
So....According to scales I am 4.5 lbs since the beginning, but I feel more like a stone down! I'm wearing shorts & summer trousers that I couldn't fit into last year and it feels good.
So I may go with the flow and weigh in in a few weeks. Or is that not a good plan? I can't remember who else on here is doing that...
Very easy to stick to it now...even when away, with just the odd G&Slimline. KOKO everyone.

YoLoZammo · 15/06/2017 20:55

asmoto you need some ideas and inspiration! Have you tried instagram?

C4 nothing beats the taste of food you've grown yourself! And supervising is good. At least you are interested and involved. That's still gardening in my book! Pretty much what my mum does now. Orders poor DF about, but he loves it really! I wish I had someone I could delegate some of the work to! I always suffer the next day (multiple joint problems). I did get a man round to trim my hedge this year. Ahem! Wink as I can't physically wield the trimmer any more. I just need a teenager to mow the lawn. Oh yes I have one of those. Will they do it? Like heck!

OldBooks · 15/06/2017 21:04

Lots of great stories on the thread this afternoon! Jim, love your new activities and glad you are enjoying them. C4 your work looks amazing and I love the sound of your studio and am very jealous Sayrra & Moist hope you are both feeling better. Hippa well done on the shred success! YoLo wasn't there a study recently that soil has a natual antidepressant effect? DH and I are novice gardeners but our veg patch is coming along nicely, and I made him plant some celeriac for lc goodness :D

So now an actual lchf related question...

This week I have been trying not to eat cream but after another early start thanks to the DDs and spending hours this morning on a project with depressing and upsetting subject matter I just needed something. I went to the corner shop for some double cream and made myself a creamy almond milk, then later in the afternoon I had some glugs of cream from the tub. Thing is where over the rest of the week I have had a headache and woozy feeling by late afternoon, today I have a spring in my step and got through a challenging bedtime without getting really hungry.

If I am understanding things correctly this might mean I am not having enough fat with main meals? I do always use butter, olive oil, coconut oil etc to cook with and add cream or cheese where appropriate. If I am right that I need more fat how can I add more or snack on more without having loads of cheese slices or drinking cream?

My other thought was that it might be that I have had a little less to drink today and that the rest of the week when I felt crap by late afternoon it might have been electrolytes and I should have a mid afternoon drink of stock?

Any thoughts oh wise ones?

ilovecherries · 15/06/2017 21:05

C4, your artwork is gorgeous. And parking on the pavement is a pet bloody hate of mine. Everyone does it around here - when we moved in the neighbour even suggested that if I parked on the pavement rather than the road there would be room for two cars to pass without either having to give way!?!? Apparently that way it's easier for everyone! Well, everyone not in a wheelchair, not on crutches, not pushing a double buggy maybe, but not everyone, asshat. I think he is scared of me now! Not that it stops them Angry

Anyway, today's food:

B: fasting
L: lettuce wraps with smashed avocado, feta, chilli and onion
D: courgette ribbons sautéed in butter, pan fried salmon and prawns with a drizzle of garlic cream.
S: none
Water:3l

Kleptronic · 15/06/2017 21:12

I've just had cauliflower I grew myself, in coconut milk. Nowt tastes better. It's a bit hairy dodging the caterpillars though! I'm also growing kale, broccoli, shallots, leek and celeriac. Low carb veg garden.

ShastaBeast · 15/06/2017 21:46

I've been busy but popping on to read everyday. I'm still on it but have been feeling very sick this week, now I'm sick but empty and can't think of anything to eat - I can't face high fat, high protein or any fruit or veg. I'm considering a one off honey and toast - single slice. I felt very weak and tired too. Possibly a virus as my throat is a little sore, or maybe it's the heat. I haven't craved sugar or carbs for ages and now I can't think of anything else I'd be able to eat. Will it be terrible or just a minor blip?

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 15/06/2017 21:57

WARNING
Sugar related content
So Tesco Madagascan vanilla double cream has 6.9g of carbs per 100ml. It also tastes incredibly sweet and has a bit of sugar in it. It's lovely. I'm not sure its a good thing.
So:
B: creamy coffee
L: pork scratchings, babybel, flaxseed bread and marmite
D: roasted chicken thigh, salad, mayo
S: too many babybels, vanilla double cream, most of a bottle of wine.
I'm still sooooo snacky. I think it's more emotional eating than anything Sad

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 15/06/2017 21:58

C4 stunning work. I'd go mad without my creative time.

Had a difficult day to navigate. Went to a talk with free curry afterwards which I had a bit of it without rice but it was vegan and carby. Left any obviously carby bits but I deffo ate lentils. And had a beer Blush

YoLoZammo · 15/06/2017 22:01

Don't do it shasta!!! Make some of that coconut bread someone gave the recipe for, or a cream cheese pancake.

klep and oldbooks your veg patches sounds fab. I don't have hardly any room to grow veg. It's all taken up with flowers and shrubs and trees! Am growing some stuff in containers though.
