I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

I find if I heat the cream and cheese up very slowly, to just below boiling point, beating it as it heats, then it thickens perfectly.

Veryflummoxed · 14/06/2017 18:29

Nasch. Dh had just told me he brings the cream to the boil, then simmers and stirs for a couple of minutes before he adds the cheese, then it thickens.

JiminnyCricket · 14/06/2017 18:36

11.5 hours later...

boldlygoingsomewhere · 14/06/2017 18:37

Meals today:
B- coconut flour pancakes with a tablespoon of ff yoghurt and a few blueberries
L- Chicken and herb skewers with a cucumber and yoghurt dip
D- mackerel with courgetti in a mascarpone sauce
S - piece of cheddar

Have noticed that my default fat is nearly always diary - cream, cheese and butter! Need to mix it up a bit with olive oil for salads I think.

CodLiverOil556 · 14/06/2017 18:44

Where do we stand on chewing gum? I have awful breath despite drinking nearly 4 litres of water every day. I've being weeing on my ketosis stick and they go bright purple each time.

Just getting quite paranoid about my stinky breath and very dry mouth.

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 14/06/2017 18:55

Jiminny that looks lovely!

JiminnyCricket · 14/06/2017 18:57

Evening all :)

My day was mental as was everyone else's trying to get 100 people to move desks and finish a days work in 5 hours so we could all go and play rounders Hmm

They provided icecream, pringles and a ton of other snack foods and beer and even though green pringles are my ultimate binge food, I got through it without having anything and I'm SO proud of myself for that. I knew if I had one that would be the end of this WOE because I cannot stop eating them once I start, so I made a conscious decision I'd rather stick at the WOE!

The belly pork method I posted works really well, although because I left it on too long the apple has disappeared. I've stirred it into the gravy instead of making apple sauce.

I'm knackered tonight so planning a very quiet night in with the dogs while DP goes out to band practice. I haven't felt this tired for ages!

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 19:00

asmoto hippa Grin Grin children of the 80s unite!

Lol at googling nasch

Dinner is looking good Jim. Are you going to flash grill it too to crisp it up

JiminnyCricket · 14/06/2017 19:12

yolo I put it in the oven for 15 minutes on the highest setting after drying and re-salting the skin when I took it out of the slow cooker Grin

That. Was. AMAZING.

By far the nicest meal I've eaten on LCHF. Hands down.

Crackling was crisp, meat was so soft I cut it with the side of my fork and the fat was completely rendered down into the meat and the sauce.

This is how I cook belly pork now Smile

ChesterDrawers · 14/06/2017 19:16

Evening all, battled a few crisis moments today - was offered a free Lindt ball in the supermarket then took DS to Macdonalds as a treat. Came out unscathed both times Grin

Need to go and cook my tea but CBA, house a tip and needs tidying too and a mountain of washing to put away. Somebody give me a kick and send me on my way!

ilovecherries · 14/06/2017 19:16

Ok, so I've been seduced by the thought I may be able to have a potato-like vegetable. Just about to go in for roasting, with lamb that's been marinating in mint and rosemary olive oil for the last couple of hours. I may cry if it comes out tasting like boiled turnip.

Just tucking into a cauliflower cheese ready meal with added leek and courgette, and a bonus slice of mozzarella at the very bottom so by the time I get to it it will be melty and delicious :)

Ironically considering the recent chat on the thread it is only 7.15 and here I am tucking in because DH is doing bedtime

Did, moody day. Nearly killed DH for putting the wrong t shirt on DS for nursery Angry
Hungry hangry hangry all bloody day!

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 14/06/2017 19:17

*bad not did. Bloody autocorrect

Asmoto · 14/06/2017 19:34

OldBooks Can I be cheeky and ask what brand the ready meal is? I have never managed to find a decent cauliflower cheese ready meal, but your pic looks really appetising.

OldBooks · 14/06/2017 19:38

Asmoto it's Morrison's The Best range. They have a cheaper microwave one but this one goes in the oven and has proper ingredients and is lovely. Have to credit Jiminny as she mentioned it a few threads ago!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 14/06/2017 19:42

Kermit how's your dental hygiene in general? Do you have a good routine?

If you're eating a lot of meat you should make it a point to use the dental brushes, or dental sticks, or dental floss (from most tonleast effective according to my dentist) every night so it will remove the meat bits that might stay.

I don't know if there's a rule about g Hmm but I would imagine a sugar free gum with xylitol would help freshen your breath as well as be good for your teeth (scientific stuff, yay xylitol).

I am sure someone who actually knows the answer will be along at any moment to tell me I'm completely wrong. Grin

ClearEyesFullHearts · 14/06/2017 19:42

*gum, not g

Asmoto · 14/06/2017 19:48

Thank you OldBooks. I don't tend to go to Morrisons as it's about half an hour's drive from me, so that explains why I've never tried theirs, but my DH passes it on the way home from work so I will ask him to pop in. I love cauliflower cheese but never feel up to cooking a home made one after work during the week.

BIWI · 14/06/2017 19:53

ILoveKermit - you're experiencing one of the key symptoms of ketosis.

Keep drinking the water (you may need more!) Wink but if you're also thirsty all the time as well, this suggests that you might need more salt.

The bad breath is/should be a temporary thing though Smile

cabbage67 · 14/06/2017 19:55

Nasch for my cauliflower cheese sauce (which I only had tonight), I use a bit of cream cheese and double cream, a teaspoon of dijon and then lots of cheese.

L238 · 14/06/2017 19:57

Kermit it's not just you with the breath thing. I've caved a few times and had a tiny bit of gum.

Constantly amazed at how little water I used to drink during the day. If nothing else I can see that this change is really good for me - my skin is much smoother, clearer and less dry. And the constant weeing seems to have calmed down now!

HemanOrSheRa · 14/06/2017 20:03

Your pork belly looks like my pork belly Jimminy Grin. I do mine first in the pressure cooker which has the same effect of making the meat super tender, just faster. I blast it in the oven too.

I am very happy to report that the Unidentified Frozen Object I took out of the freezer this morning is indeed HM Lamb Curry Smile. I actually made it just before bootcamp started so it's low fat. I shall take great delight in reheating it with a good dollop of butter and eating it with buttery cauliflower rice and a dollop of HM FF yogurt. I need it to cool down a bit weather wise before I eat though. Too hot for me here.

I missed the instructions on making flavoured sparkling water. I have water and sweet rhubarb tea. What do I do?!

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 20:07

Doesn't the cauliflower cheese ready meal have flour in?

Dinner tonight. Bloody lovely it was

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Coming to the end of our first month
ClearEyesFullHearts · 14/06/2017 20:14

Adalind, it does have flour and milk, yes.

I just looked it up and for a 400g meal it would be 18.8 carbs.

I know this is BC Lite and I know we're not supposed to carb count, and o knownthat different participants are doing different carb numbers to lose weight.

But it's good to be aware of this and it's also important to read the ingredients list.
