I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Afternoon! I wish my period would start. I feel really peculiar Sad. Sorry you are feeling rough too World.

I thought the same thing about eating late too secret. That is one of the reasons I am happy to skip breakfast and eat my lunch early. In the first two weeks I was finding that I was eating lunch very late and therefore eating dinner much, much later, 9pm ish . That was OK in the short term but not something I want to do long term. Although I'm happy that I can go much longer between meals if necessary.

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 16:18

nasch it's like a crack addiction!

Step Away from the Sugar. Just Say No!! Grin

For the older pp here who might understand the reference, don't be my username. Wink weak attempt at joke, my sincere apologies

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 14/06/2017 16:30

Don't worry secret, everything I've posted so far has been ignored. I just enjoy reading the thread and getting inspiration.

Zammo I get it Grin

Daisy62 · 14/06/2017 16:32

Still on bootcamp light, only lost 4lbs in three weeks, despite very few slips. A bit fed up that it's so slow (I had 10 pounds to lose), and don't think I can survive without fruit for another day, so am moving on to bootcamp regular. Surprised at how slow my loss is, as I'm eating so much less than before. I'm now realising my diet was quite high in fat anyway - I've always eaten quite a lot of butter, olive oil, Greek yogurt and cheese - and also high in veg. I'm starting to feel very deprived of the stuff I've cut out. Am missing wholemeal bread, brown rice and pulses (surprised to find I'm not missing chocolate) as they were a source of protein for me (vegetarian, don't eat meat substitutes, too much cheese makes me gain weight, too many eggs makes me boke). Not sure if LCHF is sustainable for me in the long term though presumably some bread, rice and pulses can be added eventually? Will keep on for now, and see how it goes. My clothes certainly fit better.

SayrraT · 14/06/2017 16:33

No one means to ignore anyone's questions BTW, sometimes you just don't know the answer then before you know it the thread has moved and the person who does know the answer hasn't seen it.

SayrraT · 14/06/2017 16:38

daisy 4 lbs in 3 weeks is not slow, it's perfect. Especially since you've only got 10 lbs to lose. At that rate you'll have lost your 10 lbs by halfway through week 7.

(Disclaimer the rate you lose at may not remain the same).

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 16:42

Sorry secret, I didn't mean to offend you. I was answering in a hurry.

Firstly, the body burns energy 24/7. You expend energy sleeping, breathing, digesting etc. GOing to sleep doesn't put your system in snooze mode.

Secondly, dietary fat doesn't turn to body fat. The whole idea of LCHF is that your body uses the dietary fat for energy, so what you eat, you should burn. Just because you're asleep doesn't mean your body stops using the energy.

Hope that makes sense!

wombattoo · 14/06/2017 16:46

Hey everyone.
No bad vibes allowed. We are all welcome here Smile

hippa Sorry if you've been missed. The thread can be fast moving. If you have a specific question, don't be afraid to repost it in bold and someone will pick it up.

In the style of MNHQ - Peace and Love Grin

Asmoto · 14/06/2017 16:46

YoLoZammo I grew up in the 80s and got your username straightaway! Where sugar is concerned we should Just Say No Grin.

ilovecherries · 14/06/2017 17:00

We tend to always eat lateish. My daughter (21), still likes us to eat as a family, and I'm not going to argue with that if that's what she wants - means I get lots of (possibly censored, I'm not naive!) chat about what's going on for her. As she has a job after uni most nights, it's 830 before she's home. As I'm doing 6:18 at the moment though, it actually fits well enough with my planning, as it means I just miss breakfast.

There are such a lot of 'rules' around food though, isn't there. E.g., must always eat breakfast, don't go to bed on a full stomach, etc.

dustmotesinthesun · 14/06/2017 17:03

Sorry if anyone has had a question go unanswered. As the weeks go on the threads slow down a bit and it's easier to keep up. Does anyone have a question they've not had answered that they want to ask again? Hopefully collectively we can answer it.

Does anyone here drink kombucha? Technically it has sugar in it but it's fermented so there shouldn't really be any left in what you drink. It's supposed to be good for guts.

It's so hot. I got to the post office. The sweets and fizzy drinks looked so refreshing. I didn't cave though. Had a cold drink of water when i got in.

ilovecherries · 14/06/2017 17:06

I was thinking though - am I the only one who has a sense that their weight loss isn't 'real'? Every time Istep on the scales, it's with the expectation that I will be back where I started - in fact, I may start weighing more frequently just to reassure myself. I've lost 8.5 pounds since we started, and stick rigidly to the rules, but every Sunday evening I'm convinced that I will be back at my start weight in the morning.

Naschkatze · 14/06/2017 17:33

Zammo I had to google... Blush

That's really good loss Daisy. You can have some berries on bootcamp light. I'm sure weight loss is slower if you don't have much to lose. Keep at it!

In the spirit of asking questions that were missed: How do you all thicken cheese sauce without flour? For cauli cheese and the like.

Daisy62 · 14/06/2017 17:34

Thanks Sayrra. I guess I'm being too impatient. Am also very cheered by ice lolly made of frozen blended watermelon - first fruit in three and a half weeks and so delicious. Though maybe I'm misremembering that we can have watermelon. Will look it up now!

Asmoto · 14/06/2017 17:38

Daisy As a serial yo-yo dieter Blush it is definitely my experience that the less you have to lose, the more slowly it comes off, particularly if it's less than a stone.

If you think of your loss as a percentage of your bodyweight though, rather than in number of lb/kg, you are probably losing at a similar rate to someone heavier.

Daisy62 · 14/06/2017 17:44

Thank you Asmoto and Naschkatze - I feel very supported getting replies, suddenly less despondent! Also I realise I shouldn't be making a drama of 10lb.

Right, watermelon - I see it isn't on the week 3 instructions, so may have transgressed here. It's apparently 8g carbs per 100g. Must have been a lot les than 100g going in each lolly mould. Hope so, as it was delicious!

lurknolinger · 14/06/2017 17:45

[Nasch] - sorry I saw that question about cheese sauce and how to thicken it about a thousand pages ago!Grin I learnt this from a previous boot camp, just use cream and cheese as you said you were but for a thick sauce add mozzarella - works a treat!!

Naschkatze · 14/06/2017 17:46

Lurk So simple! Thank you!

lurknolinger · 14/06/2017 17:54

Nasch no problem, I'm not an expert like some of the others, it's probably one of the only things I know Grin, but it's great here as there's always an answer eventually Grin

MOIST · 14/06/2017 18:02

Afternoon.

Took more snacks and food to work today

B. Creamcoffee

L. Quiche thing. Ham

S. Yogurt, cream, berries

S.

I am not proud of this.

I was happily munching my pack of pork scratchings while chatting to my new student. Turns out she's fasting for Ramadan. Felt rather bad about it but god they were good.

Veryflummoxed · 14/06/2017 18:11

And then of course there's neepsGrin

Dh makes coleslaw with white cabbage celeriac and shallots. It's lovely. I'm sure it would work without the celeriac too

secret and oldbooks I don't think I the time of night you eat matters as such. However some people who subscribe to the fasting theory eat within an eight hour window and fast for sixteen hours. So for example If they finished eating at nine at night they wouldn't eat until 1pm the next day. Stuntnun is running a thread linked to this which a few of us are on. It's quite interesting. I'm sure there are others on here who can give you more Info on eating late too.

Hi Hippo

Nasch Cheese sauce, cheese cream and seasoning

Veryflummoxed · 14/06/2017 18:15

Oh and today I had
Lunch naked stilton cheese burger, coleslaw and dressed leaves.

Dinner pork chop and stir fried veg (mix of broccoli, mangetout, spring onion, baby corn, green pepper, mushroom)

Drinks; cider vinegar in water. Coffee black, Tea, black and mint. Some water but not enough yet.

Naschkatze · 14/06/2017 18:23

Flummoxed That's what I did but it was very thin. Double cream?
I'm going to try the mozzarella trick definitely!

Food today:
B - creamy coffee and a raspberry, avocado, coconut cream and almond milk smoothie.
L - Feta and green olives with salad leaves. Lemon and oil dressing.
D - will be roasted courgette, aubergine and broccoli, spiced cauliflower 'couscous' and halloumi.
Snacks chocolate cake, babybel, a spoon of Greek yoghurt, cold fruit tea.

Not enough water so far. 1.5 more before bed... I'll be up all night anyway! Grin

Kleptronic · 14/06/2017 18:24

Daisy62 I've been trying to shift a stone since Jan, so this is my second bootcamp. I've lost 11lb. It would've gone better if I hadn't had 2 weeks in that time when I fell off the wagon, but hey ho. Each time I go off piste for a week I put 5lb on...Grin...takes 2 weeks to get it off again, but it's mostly water.

My point is, I'm 5'9", a size 12 (was 14), BMI 23 (was 24), so I knew it was always going to be slower for me. I'm not going to see big losses. It's slow and steady, and blippy! but the trend is down. 11lb down. Now I could've done that on a VLCD in 1-2 months, but it'd go straight back on again, because it's not sustainable. Been there, done that. This way is sustainable, for me. I can do BC/light (mostly) forever and the holidays, the christmas, the birthdays - I can do whatever then, because the BC/light will see me right again, and Not Hungry.

I was sick to the back teeth of being hungry. No more of that shit! Sure it's slower than for others, but it works with no pangs. I hope it works for you, too.

Veryflummoxed · 14/06/2017 18:26

Yes double cream, dh does the cooking so I expect he puts a bucket load of cheese inGrin
