I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Quick question, does it matter what time you have dinner? I rarely eat before 8 and worry that all the fat cant be burnt off and therefore must go straight on my tummy?

ASDismynormality · 14/06/2017 09:36

SayrraT. You and DH have some lovely people around you.

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 09:38

secret that's not how nutrition works.

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 09:59

sayrra how lovely for your DH!

Cathy that menu sounds delish. How about antipasti to start? Or devilled eggs?

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 10:02

Or mozarella, tomato and basil salad?

I just cut swede into chip shapes, drizzle with oil and some seasoning (garlic, celery salt, paprika) and chuck on oven tray. No parboiling. Can't be faffed with that.

ChesterDrawers · 14/06/2017 10:05

Cathy what about a lovely tomato, mozzerella and basil salad with loads of olive oil? One of my faves.

Waa I used to take my milk into work in the bottles that came with my breast pump. Certainly kept the fridge raiders away Grin

Ended up with a late snack of yogurt and cream with
two small squares of G&B 85% grated into it. That sorted me right out but I still woke up hungry this morning so need to make sure I keep my fat up today as I'm sure that was the problem.

Le plan:
B: Eggs, cream, big old chunk of butter
L: Tuna and avocado salad with olive oil
D: Sausages, swede mash with butter, broccoli roasted in olive oil

Hopefully that lot should keep hunger at bay today.

ChesterDrawers · 14/06/2017 10:06

Re swede, I sometimes cube it and roast it in olive oil mixed with garlic and rosemary. really nice with slow cooked lamb and a greek salad.

nekobus · 14/06/2017 10:11

Sayrra what a lovely thing for your friends to do. I remember about your DH from previous bootcamp. Good to hear he can do a bit of tinkering! And August is just around the corner Smile

Waawaa nice cream pot!

Forgot to write up yesterday's food:

B - pate on flax bread and lettuce, babybel crisps (after opening 2 black avocados. Not nice)
L - more pate on lettuce. Chorizo and chicken roll ups with coleslaw
D - beef chilli and cauli rice, cheddar on top
S - babybel, one slice flax bread butter and marmite, a few chorizo slices
Water - 2L plus 1L other drinks
Treat of gin and slimline as it was DH birthday. Small slice of 🎂

StuntNun · 14/06/2017 10:47

In England turnips are white knobbly veggies and swedes are orangey-purple vegetables. In Scotland swedes are called turnips and turnips are called white turnips. In America swedes are called rutabagas. Makes perfect sense!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/06/2017 10:55

Morning everyone. Think it was Heman who said that they were feeling a bit dizzy, nauseous etc - felt the same last night and also woke up with a thumping headache this morning.

Managed to fend off cravings last night with some cream. Also 2 small squares of dark choc.

Decided not to fast today and feel a bit better for having had some breakfast - just wish my period would turn up so I can get on with it!

B: creamy coffee, cheese and home
L: chicken and avocado salad with olive oil and mayo
D: out at a client function. Will eat some LcHF before I go - there is a BBQ at the event so will just pick at that if hungry.

JiminnyCricket · 14/06/2017 11:01

My pork belly experiment went in the slow cooker at 6am (one for me, one for DP!) so will have had 13 hours by the time I eat it Blush .. first time I've put anything in the slow cooker without liquid so we'll see how it turns out.. google informs me it will be fine Confused

StuntNun · 14/06/2017 11:05

There will be plenty of liquid in the meat and apple Jiminny. I sometimes put a whole chicken in the slow cooker and I only put in a tiny bit of water.

cathyandclare · 14/06/2017 12:08

Thanks for starter suggestions :)
Now umming and erring between tomato, basil and mozzarella and something prawny.

It's so sunny today that the salad is really appealing though, it always reminds me of holidays.

knottyhair · 14/06/2017 12:25

Thanks for all the welcomes! SayrraT, that's so lovely of your friends. Cathyclare your menu sounds really good.

I have had celeriac chips a lot on this WOE and love them - curious about swede ones but don't like the flavour of swede so I'm guessing they're not for me? Forgot to mention that I usually have 2 small squares of 85% chocolate in the evening with a cup of decaf tea. Got to make a birthday cake for DP tomorrow - was going to try the chocolate kidney bean one from Blood Sugar Diet cook book but I'm worried it won't turn out ok, and I think it's still 20g carbs per slice so I think I'll stick to a Bakewell sponge (which I make a lot) and I just won't have any. Not got a massive sweet tooth so I think I'll be OK delusional. I do worry about not having things like cake when my DCs are around. I don't want to talk about diets etc obviously in front of them. DS is 13 so I can explain it to him from a health perspective but DD is only 4 so when she asks why I'm not having xyz, I tend to just say "I'm not hungry at the moment". DP is very slim but has a lot of trouble with IBS so I've told him about the comments on here about this WOE improving the condition in some people and he's "thinking about it". Just had nice lunch of avocado, cucumber topped with smoked mackerel pate, a few cubes of cheddar, coleslaw and chicken.

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 13:27

Ooh Jim I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out. More pics later please!

In fact, can we have more food pics in general please love food porn Grin

BIWI · 14/06/2017 13:30

I'd do asparagus with parmesan, cathyandclaire!

Welcome knotty

yy to the food porn, more please!

I'd bought a pork shoulder to have as a roast for today (I work Sundays, so roast day is Wednesday here!) but the weather's so nice, I don't fancy a big roast with all the trimmings. I've put it in for pulled pork now instead. I have a swede, so could do swede chips (potato for the kids) and what else? I have most stuff in, could I make a coleslaw with shallots and white cabbage?

boldlygoingsomewhere · 14/06/2017 14:00

Knotty, I made the chocolate kidney bean cake but as cupcakes recently. It turned out to be very rich so you definitely wouldn't want a big slice and would need cream to cut through the strength of the chocolate. Might just have been my cocoa powder though...

Naschkatze · 14/06/2017 14:14

Cathyandclare
These prawn skewers from the Tesco magazine? Might need to adjust the recipe due to the vinegars but it says 1g carbs per serving.

They all sound so tasty.
I had eggs and nice butter for breakfast.
Beefburger with a tomato and cucumber salad for lunch. Ate the burger with garlic mayo and harissa sauce. It was lovely!!
Need to go food shopping and might try Morrisons. My first ever trip there. Oh the excitement Grin

secretsignal · 14/06/2017 15:18

Wow! What's with the bad vibes? First my lame spreadsheet skills, now a simple question gets shot down. Starting to feel v unwelcome on this thread Sad

OldBooks · 14/06/2017 15:25

Secret I was interested to hear the answer too, I rarely eat before 8 due to work hours and getting DC to bed. I always thought you should eat around 6 so your body can digest before bed, and then when you are asleep it is focused on repair etc rather than digesting. It always worries me when I eat my main meal at 9 or 9.30!

Naschkatze · 14/06/2017 15:38

Secret Can't answer your question I'm
afraid but I've been wondering the same. Always been an early eater, 6/6:30 but it's gotten later since having DS as I tend to do his bedtime routine first fat lot of difference that it makes at 3 months anyway and then eat afterwards. By the time he is reliably asleep it's usually 8/8:30 or 10:30 like last night.

I've a confession to make. I had a piece of chocolate cake this morning while out with friends. After another bad nights sleep I caved. I enjoyed it but now I feel awful! Nauseous and shaky! It's the sugar isn't it? Will I never be able to enjoy a sweet treat without this side affect again?! Shock

Cherrypi · 14/06/2017 15:42

Today Meals
B: Greek yoghurt. Ground almonds and vanilla. Coffee with almond milk
S: roasted almonds. Blackberries. Playgroup coffee
L: meatballs with cheese inside and cucumber. strawberries clotted cream
S: yoghurt with cacao nibs. Babybel. A marshmallow
D: sausage and grilled mushroom with cheese.

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 16:13

secret I'm sure you are very welcome here. Sometimes I post a question and it gets totally ignored! I think things just get missed when a thread is busy, or people don't know the answer, or a response might be brief because someone doesn't have time to write a detailed explanation at that moment.

I too would be really interested in a sciencey answer from someone in the know, because I often eat dinner at 10pm and rarely before 9pm due to DC bedtime routine, my work hours etc. I then stay up late as I don't want to go to bed on a full stomach, also have loads to do prepping for next day anyway!
