I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

My eating was a mess today
B: was on the go, 2 mouthfuls of Lidl protein roll. Had few spoonfuls of ff Greek at work
L: left my lunch at home so ended up grabbing cauli/kale couscous ( haven't realised there will be couscous in it), had only 1/2 of the packet.
D: bowl of homemade soup (spinach, pumpkin, celery), half Lidl protein bun with cream cheese

I must be the only one who enjoys the coconut bread. I made it 3x so far ( it makes 1 slice at a time which gives me 2 portions) and did variations on the recipe (with/without cream cheese and butter) and liked it every time.
It was delicious toasted in a pan with bacon and egg.
I made a slice tonight and had 1/3 of it with smear of peanut butter. This was my evening treat together with cream coffee

Food is better planned for tomorrow
B: will be mashed eggs with celery, radish and cherry tomatoes
L: chicken soup which was defrosted today by mistake
D: rest of the homemade soup. Leftover of the haddock I had sitting in the fridge for few days now...

styledilemma · 13/06/2017 22:45

Mandelinka which recipe do you use for the coconut bread?

YoLoZammo · 13/06/2017 23:08

dustmotes Loose and floppy is a great sign 😄 quote of the week!

C4pinkwheels · 13/06/2017 23:43

I've felt better today, I found an old journal from the last time I did LC in 2012, my start weight then was three stone heavier than I am now, I did LC for ten weeks and lost just over 16lb I had to stop because I was rushed into hospital and ended up staying for five weeks, I had full time care when I came out and they were all too stupid to understand or make an effort to understand my WOE. I was so depressed at the time that I'd almost given up caring about anything. I'm in a much better place now and I'm determined to shed the weight that's making my life so much more difficult than it needs to be.

Style - next time you find yourself foodless and faced with a costa you can always have a bacon and Brie panini and leave the bread, or a sandwich and just eat the filling. I always keep an emergency Atkins bar in my bag just in case.

YoLoZammo · 14/06/2017 01:01

Forgot my food tally today:

B: creamy coffee, 3 slices of ham and egg roll
L: bit of chicken and salami with salad (filling of two rolls, left the bread), later had celery sticks with half a pot of broad bean and mint houmous, and a dollop of cheese coleslaw.
S: ff yog with cream, one strawberry and a dark choc dusting. Later on had a boiled egg with butter
D: 3 pork belly slices, bit of beetroot and cucumber with tsatsziki (sp?) on top.

Is this a lot for one day?

I drank lots of water today Smile it was too hot not to

knottyhair · 14/06/2017 05:53

Can I join? Have been lurking for a while! Started LCHF in March, lost 4lbs in 2 weeks, then went on holiday, had chips & wine and put it all back on again. Started properly when I came back and I'm loving it. Yesterday's food (helps me to log it!):
B - coffee with cream, Pret avocado & crayfish salad with dressing.
L - cucumber slices topped with smoked mackerel pate, cubes of cheddar, salad leaves with Caeser dressing.
D - home made lamb burgers, celeriac chips, buttered cabbage
Snacks - pork scratchings, 4 strawberries with clotted cream. Drank a couple of coffees with Lactofree wholemilk, plus 1 litre water and 1 litre of chilled fruit tea. Also did Jillian Michaels Killer Buns & Thighs - ouch.
Today I will be walking to see my mum (1 hour round trip). Planned food is:
B - 2 slices Livlife bread toasted, with butter & marmite. Coffee with cream.
L - not sure yet, probably salad with pate/cheese/chicken
D - pork meatballs with buttered spring greens and mushrooms. Will drink water, chilled fruit tea and 1 or 2 coffees with lactofree whole milk.
Full of admiration for those of you on here with so much other stuff going on.

Welcome knotty Flowers

JiminnyCricket · 14/06/2017 06:57

Morning all :)

Today is a huge reshuffle at work so to celebrate all 100ish of us are off to play rounders in the afternoon Grin there will be 'refreshments' which in my office means cake and , beer and pizza and biscuits, so I'm going to pop a tub of antipasti I would have had at lunchtime into my bag for later.

The reshuffle means the team I manage is breaking up, they are a really close knit bunch so it's hit us pretty hard. No one in the company has lost or will lose jobs though so it's all good, but it means I'm on boarding 4 new big clients with a new team under me which is going to make me a very busy girl in the short term. If I don't post much in the next few weeks, that's why!

Menu today:
B: coconut coffee
L: Thai green chicken soup
S: antipasti
D: belly pork, roasted broccoli.

Asmoto · 14/06/2017 07:05

Hi knotty and welcome to the thread!

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 07:24

B- creamy coffee
L- avocado and egg salad
S- 2 exploded babybel
D- swede fries (yum!) mushrooms in cream cheese, asparagus in butter
D- 100g yoghurt with a spoonful of mascarpone

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 07:27

And probably a square of 81% chocolate too

SayrraT · 14/06/2017 07:49

We had a really nice night last night.

Some of you who have been bcing for a while might remember that last year my OH had a seizure (he has epilepsy, he'd been seizure free for 11 years but was having stressful time, Dr thinks that's what caused it) and lost his job and driving licence. One of his main passions is building/doing up old vehicles. He has a landrover and a tractor just now. They were at his parents house as we had nowhere for them to go.

Now we have finished (almost!) renovating the man cottage in the garden is now suitable. OH has to wait until August to get licence back but his friends brought the landrover down last night as a surprise for him so that he can tinker with it and get it all ready for driving.

Grin It was lovely, I nearly cried!

SayrraT · 14/06/2017 07:50

I'm just so happy for OH as he's still not been able to find a "real" job and I know he hates not working or being able to drive. He's doing a bit of work on a local farm but just a few days here and there.

StuntNun · 14/06/2017 07:55

What are these swede fries everyone's talking about? I've tried celeriac and courgette chips but been underwhelmed. Are swede fries really all they're cracked up to be?

boldlygoingsomewhere · 14/06/2017 08:03

Sayrra, what a lovely thing for your friends to do! I'm sure it will give your OH a real boost.

Welcome, Knotty.

I had coconut flour pancakes this morning with a dollop of ff yoghurt and some blueberries. Pancakes were ok but a bit eggy.

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 08:21

Well they still taste like swede rather than potato but they have a potatoey texture and taste good with salt and vinegar!
Cut your swede into chip sized bits, parboil for 5 minutes then fry. I shallow fried them in olives oil as that's all I had and they were good.

wombattoo · 14/06/2017 08:25

How lovely of them Sayrra

Welcome knotty

ilovecherries · 14/06/2017 08:27

I'm wondering about these swede chips as well. Are they paper thin slices (like crisps) or like chunky cut crisps. And if the latter, should they be par-boiled first?

WaaWaaWaaa · 14/06/2017 08:37

Morning all - scales up a bit this morning Booooo. Must stop this daily weighing business not good for the ego.

B - Creamy coffee
L - Roast chicken with roasted courgettes, tiny bit of veg bake and salad
D - Gammon steaks I think with mushrooms and baked aubergine.

Just to make you chuckle - attaching a pic of what I brought my cream to work in. My container that I brought it in yesterday leaked... more of a snack pot I guess...

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Coming to the end of our first month
cathyandclare · 14/06/2017 08:42

Fantastic Sayrra my DH longs for an old Landrover, but definitely doesn't have any mechanical skills.

I braced myself and put the batteries in the scales. Weighed a whisker less than 2lb down and before a poo too so over 6lb down in total. Half way there.

Having friends for supper on Friday, they toy with low carb/clean eating on and off so going to stick to LCHF. Thought I'd barbecue a butterflied leg of lamb with a garlicky, yoghurt and cucumber dip and salads and cauliflower couscous with peppers and bits in. dark chocolate low carb mousse with 85% chocolate dipped strawberries for pudding.
Any ideas for a lovely summery starter?

B: Creamy coffee and bucket of water
L: Steak and stilton salad
D: DH away and lacking inspiration, probs Omelette or cauliflower fried rice.

Veryflummoxed · 14/06/2017 09:06

SayrraT that's lovely news. So pleased to hear that things are looking up for dh

Stuntnun i love swede chips but then I love celeriac ones as well. However my favourite is roast turnip (I know there's some confusion in different areas with turnip and swede but I'm talking about the white ones with a purplish skin). They seem to be rather expensive these days though, which annoys dh as when he was a child on the farm they were only considered to be fit for the pigs.

Didn't post yesterday but ate LC and drank all my water.

AdalindSchade · 14/06/2017 09:08

I cut the swede like regular chips, not too chunky. Parboil for 5 minutes

Veryflummoxed · 14/06/2017 09:09

You could set a trend with that container WaaGrin

SayrraT · 14/06/2017 09:15

stunt I tried swede fries the other day and didn't really enjoy them.

Naschkatze · 14/06/2017 09:34

Flummoxed I'm so glad you mentioned turnip and swede confusion. I never know which one is which.

Cathyandclare Sounds delicious! Can I come? What about prawns for a starter?

Mid night (2am) snack of yoghurt and 2 strawberries last night. Pleased I didn't give into the desire for toast. I'm tempted to try and find some of the LivLife bread you're all talking about though.
