I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Asmoto · 13/06/2017 20:16

ilovecherries Yes, trigger food is exactly what it is for me too!

Naschkatze · 13/06/2017 20:23

I made some chocolate truffles but with coconut cream, total experiment but it worked quite well.
10 small truffles
Nutracheck tells me that each one is less than 1g carbs.

40g 85% cocoa dark chocolate
10g butter
60g coconut cream (from a tin - the thick stuff off the top. Will put the rest in a smoothie tomorrow.)

Melt the butter and chocolate. Whisk in the coconut cream. Leave in the fridge to set. Then scoop out small balls onto a tray and put back in the fridge.
They're pretty good to satisfy the chocolate craving. I might try adding some chopped nuts next time.

YoLoZammo · 13/06/2017 20:33

Just catching up on the posts today.

ilovecherries how lovely to be told that about your skin! Something is working for you!

C4 well done for koko. I am in awe of you.

naschkatze I'm so sorry if my earlier post sounded a bit gloaty. It did when I just read it back but I never meant it that way. I was trying to extol the virtues of this WOE and got carried away. Since you're bf I think you should listen to your body as it will demand what it lacks. That's not to say give in to every craving, but maybe have a drink and test it. See if the craving is still there half an hour later. If it is then try a tiny bit of what you crave and stop there. Your body needs to nourish another person, so don't focus too much on weight loss right now. Others may disagree with me, but I think you should cut yourself some slack, stick with the broad principles of lchf and don't dwell on the strict rules too much. You will probably lose weight naturally through bf anyway, because of the calorie expenditure so you are already ahead!

AdalindSchade · 13/06/2017 20:41

Omg courgetti is amazing! So delicious and pasta ish but much tastier!

Naschkatze · 13/06/2017 20:51

Yolo No need to apologise, I didn't read it that way. I think you're right. Unfortunately breastfeeding alone hasn't worked for weight loss so far! This WOE and the support on these threads is at least helping me eat better than I was doing in the first couple of months (so much cake!).

PlymouthMaid1 · 13/06/2017 20:51

Well managed wetherspoons by having halloumi and coleslaw but four gin and slims may have been too many. My flax crackers were disappointing. Was going to take them to work for lunch but they were all floppy. Also did not taste nice to me really, rather an overpowering flavour.

YoLoZammo · 13/06/2017 21:04

And I've just seen that you've dealt with one craving already nasch! Choc truffles agogo Grin

ChesterDrawers · 13/06/2017 21:08

Struggling tonight after my ruined avocado led to not enough fat at lunchtime. DH cooked tea too and never used enough butter so am seriously lacking.

Just had the remains of my flax bread with a thick spread of butter and an exploded babybel in The hope of warding off the cravings but they're bad right now Sad

Thing is I'm not even craving anything in particular and am no way going to eat carbs but even so, I want somwthing

CobOnTheCorn · 13/06/2017 21:24

B: coffee and cream
S: pork scratchings
L: cheese and chorizo omelette and green salad
D: tuna mayo with avocado and cucumber

MOIST · 13/06/2017 21:25

After my hungry moment at work I am home and eaten. Lots.
Turkey, gouda slice and cucumber. Followed by yogurt, cream and a handful of frozen berries. Danger averted and no dairy milk eaten.

Tomorrow I'll take more.

YoLoZammo · 13/06/2017 21:27

It's interesting for me to learn about the effects of lack of sleep on weight and appetite. I lost a lot of weight while bf but then put it all back on in spades and then some when I stopped, but all the while and up to now I've been mostly surviving on 4-5 hrs sleep a night. Various reasons for lack of sleep including a baby/toddler with ongoing health issues and just the sheer burden of life, work, housework, and single parenthood and never having enough hours in the day. I wonder if this has made me fatter? To be fair I've mostly always been fat except for when I had each DC and bf. But this last DC has topped the scale of sleep deprivation!

dustmotesinthesun · 13/06/2017 21:33

Hello everyone! I'm back.

I went to my friend's wedding at the weekend and had a lovely time. It floored me so I've been waiting to get some energy back before coming on here.

I'm doing ok but I'm a bit cross with myself. I was going great guns before the wedding and then didn't prepare enough mentally for the wedding at all. I should have sat down and really decided how I wanted to manage the food and stuck to it. Instead I slightly just went in with a view I should enjoy myself and take it all as it comes. Which is all well and good except that much of what was served I could have eaten and stayed low carb - nice burgers and lots of platters of veggies. On a whim I ate the burger bun and then choc brownies for pudding. Which is all well and good but as I've experienced many, many times before you wake up the next day and realise it's not worth it. I'd have felt amazing waking up on the Sunday having been strict. Because really who cares about a burger bun - losing weight is what I care about. I could have had a couple of bites of pudding and left it at that.

So I'm annoyed with myself. I feel I've wasted the last month. But really nothing I can do. I'm trying not to dwell and have got straight back into it. Eating lots of lovely butter to get my fat levels up because I really do think that's the key for me. I need to now really get into this over the next month and stay strict. I can only keep learning and keep going forward. Putting my dress on to go to the wedding I could see my weight loss at least. My collarbones are just about showing through. My waist felt slim. My legs looked pretty good in tights - the best they've looked in years to be honest. There is a real change. I just need to build on all that. I can do it.

I've bought myself some garlic mayo, some more lovely butter (out of this world. I'm attaching a photo - you all need to try it) and some harissa tomato sauce stuff to drizzle with the mayo on various things. Bought some more pork scratchings too. So I'm all set up and good to go.

Week 4 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Coming to the end of our first month
YoLoZammo · 13/06/2017 21:42

Great work dustmotes I shall keep this attitude in mind when I next go a bit off plan. Right back on the horse, and tomorrow is another day. Love my cliches I do Grin

Kleptronic · 13/06/2017 21:43

B: 2 creamy coffees
L: 2 boiled eggs mashed with cheese coleslaw
S: half a packet of Awfully Posh crackling
D: a slice of the meatloaf recipe (25% fat mince beef! There was rivers of fat!) with brie, asparagus spears, half a packet of cauli rice, a broccoli floret, a cauliflower floret, beef gravy.
Alcohol: 1 vodka diet coke, 2 small (125ml glass) sauvignon blanc.
5 glasses water.
2 glasses diet coke.

I am absolutely stuffed to the gills. Surely that was way too much food? MFP says 25g carbs, is that too many?

boldlygoingsomewhere · 13/06/2017 21:44

My stomach is looking really odd - like someone has deflated a balloon. It's all loose and floppy. This is a good sign isn't it?

BIWI · 13/06/2017 21:47

The carbs are OK - but there's a lot of Diet Coke on there!!!

OP posts:
Kleptronic · 13/06/2017 22:00

You're right BIWI but I'm on week eleventy billion, and you know what, it tasted horrible. I wanted more vodka and that was the compromise!

dustmotesinthesun · 13/06/2017 22:01

Loose and floppy is a great sign 😄

ClearEyesFullHearts · 13/06/2017 22:10

I wanted more vodka and that was the compromise!

That made me laugh. Loving Diet Coke as vodka substitute. Wink

ClearEyesFullHearts · 13/06/2017 22:31
Hmm

Apologies. What I meant is that I find the idea of Diet Coke as a vodka substitute humorous, not that I think it's a good idea to drink lots of Diet Coke.

Not taking the piss!

So no shaming here...needs must, etc.

Kleptronic · 13/06/2017 22:34

Aw you're all right ClearEyes I get yer!
