My goodness Smile I don't think we've ever had a second thread in week 2!

Anyway, the last thread is full, so let's carry on the chatting here until the new thread on Monday!

Yes, I know it does! That's why I said 'a smidge' (which I believe is a technical term Smile)

But it gives a much better, more rounded flavour than even the best quality extract.

DH and I share a little one so I should be ok Biwi I count it in

CodLiverOil556 · 04/06/2017 17:39

@StuntNun I think I had to check I was eating correctly as this goes against everything I've ever been taught about weight loss. Every single one of my meals were all extremely high carb (over 150g).

I'm extremely happy with not having to cook with Frylight and not having to concoct weird meals with weird ingredients but it's taken some real effort to reset my mind. I've bought some ketosis sticks as just a visual aid to see if I'm on the right path.

My other question is...I'm having some trouble with pooing and although I'm drinking enough and eating lots of fat, my system has completely given up! Twice I've had to use some sennekot to get things moving. What can I do?

BIWI · 04/06/2017 18:02

Firstly, if you're eating only 15-20g carbs, then you will be losing weight!

Secondly, if you're drinking the amount of water that you should be, then the ketostix are a waste of your money, as they won't show up dark purple.

When you say you're having trouble pooing, do you mean that you're just not going as often, or is it painful/difficult to pass? If the former, then don't worry. If the latter, then this also indicates that you're not eating enough vegetables and salad, aka carbohydrates! Make sure you're getting plenty of veg like broccoli, cauliflower, celeriac - all good and low in carbs.

Things that can help - strong coffee, a high strength vitamin C tablet, exercise, drinking more water/eating more fat.

Can you list out for me what your meals have been like over the last few days, and also how much water you've been drinking each day?

It has been the most pain free two weeks of a diet I have ever experienced. No idea if in ketosis. Haven't noticed bad breath or anything unusual. Been feeling great with no hunger apart from today oddly and even that was staved off with creamy coffee. I think the two tofu meals in the past two days may have been too low fat.
I wonder if I am using too much cream, about two small pots a week?
In Tesco I picked up Orange essence which us just rapeseed oil and Orange oil, thought it might be good in yoghurt.

MOIST · 04/06/2017 18:04

Today's foods.

B. Cream coffee
S. More cream coffee
L. Sausages (decent no added shite ones) with cheese (I am disgusting)
D. Will be a sort of butter chicken curry and cauliflower rice.

I chucked an onion in the curry before I thought about it. 1 onion in about 3 portions. Is that too much?

BIWI · 04/06/2017 18:08

@MOIST - where is your breakfast?! I know it's the last day of strict Bootcamp, but ...

And why no veg with your lunch? Make sure you have more veg or some salad with your dinner, otherwise you're simply not getting enough of it.

One onion between three will be OK (especially as you haven't had much veg elsewhere), but yes, shallots would have been a lot better.

@PlymouthMaid1 - two pots in a week doesn't sound too bad. But ultimately you'll only find out if you have a dairy problem if your weight loss is non-existent or very slow. Wait and see how your weigh-ins go first!

Glad you've found it pain-free!

Ketostix I have done first thing and showed bright purple so I assume that's positive for ketosis. So meals are as follows:

B - coffee with cream (so much that it forms a film!) Greek yogurt with more cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and flaxseed.

L - 2 egg omelette with mushroom, green peppers and spinach with olive oil

D - Spag Bol made with full fat mince, mushrooms and tinned tomatoes and courgetti fried in olive oil.

W - 3 litres

Does this sound ok? @BIWI

BIWI · 04/06/2017 18:14

That sounds perfect!

BIWI · 04/06/2017 18:15

... however, given the low carb counts I'm wondering how large your portions are? I'd definitely suggest that you up your veg/salad more

MOIST · 04/06/2017 18:15

BIWI. Forgive me. I have been crap today. I've been much better on other days.

BIWI · 04/06/2017 18:17

Well, after today you can skip breakfast anyway, if you want to! Smile

MOIST · 04/06/2017 18:18

Good. I'm not good with breakfast. I can usually manage a boiled egg but we've run out.

CodLiverOil556 · 04/06/2017 18:19

I fill my plate but only eat til I'm full, I'm quite disciplined and have stuck to BC religiously over the last 2 weeks and it's looking like I've lost just over 8lbs!

It's not painful to poo it's just not happening and I'm not sure it's healthy to go once a week Blush

ilovecherries · 04/06/2017 18:24

Breakfast : soft boiled egg and buttered asparagus soldiers
Lunch: small tin tuna in oil with raw spinach and basil butter drizzled over
Dinner: steak and large mixed salad. Steak will be cooked in parsley butter and a mixed green salad with olive oil
Water so far is 2 L but I always drink at least another litre in the evening

No snacks (which is always the most astonishing thing for me to write, as I used to be always snacking to avoid the shaky hangry feeling). The first day of bootcamp I panic bought all the low carb M&S snacks that everyone was talking about, because I was certain I'd need them, and they haven't been touched, apart from posh ham I had for lunch one day.

Ooooo moist recipe needed- that looks amazing

WaaWaaWaaa · 04/06/2017 19:00

C4 omg your bunnies are the cutest things ever! Well done on all the weight lost too! Glad the pubs going to change things up a bit. And of course you get a free night out!

Kittens - wtf!?!?!? I hope you called the police! That's awful

Had another good day today, went to a farm open day with the babies them into the garden centre for lunch and soft play.

B - bacon sausages boursin mushrooms
L - chicken and bacon Cesar salad with no garlic bread (it came with it if course but I gave it to the girls)
D- going to have gamon steaks, creamed cabbage and mushrooms

I got some fab stuff at the farm shop. Clotted cream, last small pot of double cream, some fab cream and a cabbage! I'm so #lchf already!

It's unheard of for me to choose a salad out, fairly enjoy it and I'm full from it! Amazeballs

And here's my Burnaby Jasper! 😍

Burnaby??? Furbaby!!! 😂

MOIST · 04/06/2017 19:17

Cauliflower - whizzed up to 'rice' it. Cooked for 5. Minutes in butter.

Chicken chunks. Marinade in yogurt mixed with garlic, coriander, garam masala, ginger, fried in butter.

Sauce - onion (should have been shallot) garlic and chilli fried in butter until soft. Chuck in Indian spices (garam masala, turmeric, coriander, ginger, mustard seeds). Tin of basic chopped tomatoes, bubble for a bit. Then off the heat dollop in a slug of double cream.

Could have done with a bit more chilli and some fresh coriander on the top. And some lime juice in the marinade I think.

AdalindSchade · 04/06/2017 19:20

B- fried mushrooms and emental cheese, creamy coffee
L- cauliflower rice and tofu with tomato sauce and cheese
S- small portion of nuts
D- buttered spinach, feta, mushrooms, veggie sausage, asparagus and broccoli
D- 100g yoghurt, cream, 1/2 a strawberry

YoLoZammo · 04/06/2017 19:33

B: creamy coffee, 2 rashers bacon, egg mayo
L: lettuce celery cream cheese and salami
D: paprika chicken, cavolo Nero, caulirice
S: been a bit snacky today. Too much Salami, 1 babybel.

I also confess to having a teaspoonful of coco milk ice cream as my DC and I were making smoothies for them, not me. It went in my mouth before I even realised! Was not a deliberate choice, I couldn't believe it. How much over the years have I stuffed in my gob without even realising I'm doing it ?? Blush Today's epiphany.

styledilemma · 04/06/2017 20:17

I've made some egg muffins and eaten 4 Blush
They seem so small. But very filling.
Its small consolation that I've pigged out on the right things.

secretsignal · 04/06/2017 20:24

YoLo I do that all the time, mindlessly popping in grapes or 'testing' DCs pasta then spitting it out like poison when I realise!
B: 2 egg and cheese omelette
L: Chicken salad with mayo
D: Bunless beef burger with salad, mayo and slice of cheese

1 black coffee, 2 teas with soya milk, 2.5l water
