My goodness Smile I don't think we've ever had a second thread in week 2!

Anyway, the last thread is full, so let's carry on the chatting here until the new thread on Monday!

*ragz^ that's amazing!

cathyandclare · 04/06/2017 12:32

Style I kind of know because I feel bloated, sluggish and I've gained a shedload of weight! But I did check with urine ketostix, just in case it was premenstrual water retention. I'm hoping it's a bit of both and in two days I'll be half a stone lighter Grin

boldlygoingsomewhere · 04/06/2017 12:32

Yes, my mild IBS clears up too and my skin improves. Much less dry and scaly.

I know what you mean about the head fuzziness. I find that when I go off-piste I develop hangover like symptoms - headache, fuzzy head, stomach upset etc.

cathyandclare · 04/06/2017 12:32

I do think the breath thing wears off after you've been in kept for a while.

styledilemma · 04/06/2017 12:37

cathy I must admit I haven't felt bloated once since low carbing.
I've also discovered that quorn products bloat me up and give me stomach ache.
I've found that as well as losing weight and feeling good, low carbing has been very good for discovering which foods have been causing me hassle over the years and I've never realised it - till now.

ragz134 · 04/06/2017 12:50

Quorn seems to give a lot of people upset stomachs. I'm pretty sure it isn't food...

Cherrypi · 04/06/2017 12:58

My skin is clearing up too. Today will be a test as I always overeat when tired. Not sure if the delicious banoffee coffee is working as it makes me miss the real thing.

styledilemma · 04/06/2017 13:04

What are these nice coffees that everyone's drinking? I want to look out for them the next time I'm in Sainsburys.

RedBeanie · 04/06/2017 13:05

Oh dear, may be I should steer clear of Quorn ...

I'm hoping my skin clears up too, that would be a lovely 'side-effect' of this WOE!

Cherrypi · 04/06/2017 13:19

I ordered mine online here.

I need to admit to terrible booze crimes last night...

Some utterly vile arsehole deliberately rear-ended my car last night because I was waiting for someone ahead of me who was making a total hash of parallel parking in a very narrow road. The guy behind me was screaming abuse at me from his car and rammed into the back of mine, apparently because I was making him late for a party... Luckily lots of witnesses, very little damage to the car and neither ds or I hurt but I was quite shaken.

So did have a restorative glass of wine when I got home, which then turned into an awful lot more, sitting in the garden with dp and a lovely LCHF picnic, discussing our upcoming wedding Smile. About 5am I had to get out of bed to throw up so ashamed and I have succumbed to a bacon sarnie this morning. The bread was dry and tasteless...

But am back on it now need a nap though

ilovecherries · 04/06/2017 13:21

style, I think it's the Beanies coffees. I bought the amaretto, and it does smell absolutely delicious, but I haven't had any yet because it doesn't have an ingredients list and I'm concerned it's full of artificial sweeteners. I anyone can reassure me though, I will dive right in, because I suspect it roll be extremely nice!

HemanOrSheRa · 04/06/2017 13:23

Quorn upsets my stomach too Confused. Really badly!

My entire digestive system has been improved by this WOE over the last two weeks. Very little reflux, no wind, bloating and bouts of diarrhoea have stopped. I have bowel movements that Dr Gillian McKeith would be proud of Grin.

MOIST · 04/06/2017 13:36

Kittens that's a bit shit (the nob in the car not the wine).

I am cooking sausages. Do I have to eat salad with them? I don't fancy anything much today.
Might make a curry later.

herecomesthsun · 04/06/2017 13:56

I am hoping that I haven't got bad breath! - I am sure the water helps.

I think there is a sweet point for getting weighed at weekends, when it has got to 9am or later, you have had a lie in and gone to the bathroom, but haven't eaten or drunk anything yet. Having had all that time to metabolise the previous day's litre after litre of of water.

Yesterday was a bit odd.

breakfast- 3 eggs and mayonnaise, 1l water
lunch was yoghurt blackberries and slivered almonds plus 2 litres of water as I got caught out timewise before taking the kids to the theatre
snack - creamy coffee and 50g ham
I wasn't very hungry but managed a bit of salmon teriyaki stirfry, going very easy on the sauce, with some broccoli and edamame beans

I had some more yoghurt and coffee in the course of some aghast late night catching up with the news.

so far today had
3 eggs and mayo for breakfast
cheese and celery plus lots of salad with mayo for lunch

CaptainBraandPants · 04/06/2017 14:03

here edamame beans are a bit too carby for BC. they are about 10g/ 100g.
kittens Flowers that's sounds horrible.
MOIST I had veg with my sausages yesterday, is that better than salad?

Just off to make roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings - the things I do for the ones I love. Grin I'll just have the roast beef with lots of veg.

styledilemma · 04/06/2017 14:06

kittens Flowers
A little justified 'blip' which any one of us would have done. under the same circumstances. Glad you and your children are OK. That's the main thing.
Jump back in when you're ready. You'll be fine.

HemanOrSheRa · 04/06/2017 14:12

Good grief kittens that is horrendous Sad. There are some absolute lunatics out there. Glad you and DS aren't hurt Flowers.

Cookingongas · 04/06/2017 14:24

On no kittens! What an idiot he must have been, and no wonder you're shaken!

I got through the boot sale- had a gluten free Wetherspoon breakfast (without the beans) so managed to stick to bc and without anyone commenting.

I've noticed that a lot of others, like me, are worried about telling people about this woe. I don't want people to know for fear of judgement Sad those for do tell without -this ridiculous fear worrying; what do you say? How do you counter the negativity?

Sunborn · 04/06/2017 14:34

I try and keep it light, brush it off, say 'oh well, I'm just giving it a try - seeing how it goes.' And then change the subject asap. Ultimately, if people aren't dieting themselves, the problem is more often than not that you're making them feel bad about their choices. It's not about you.

And once you've been doing it for a little while, just 'oh well, I've lost X amount - it's working for me, but I know it's not for everyone.'

OldBooks · 04/06/2017 14:36

Flowers exploding, that's so horrible ☹️

I am at PILs for a buffet this afternoon. Have got myself some spinach and boiled eggs to take along. MIL knows I am trying to 'be good' (her phrase) and I have taken BIWI's message about not being bothered what people think to heart! I will tell them exactly what woe I am following if they ask, FIL could really benefit from it but I can't see him doing it Hmm

Just made an Eton mess to take, DH asked if I could have it too and I said only the cream, he thought that it was very noble of me to make something I couldn't share Halo

Naschkatze · 04/06/2017 14:58

Kittens that's terrible!

Cherries I was concerned about ingredients in the Beanies coffee too but their website says that they infuse the beans with flavour so no added nastiness! It's delicious, try it!

Cookingongas · 04/06/2017 15:28

Not diet related but if it's okay to vent- I know it's not to the same level as what many here are going through, but I've just found that my neighbors car has had my chicks Sadmy dds found themSad

I want to make a batch of pasta and fall face first into it. Not to mention wine. Awful awful experience

Cookingongas · 04/06/2017 15:28

Cat

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 04/06/2017 15:33

Also making yoghurt in the instant pot. Yup make the yoghurt very low carb you can culture it for 24 hours and this will let the bacteria consume the majority of the lactose. Its very tart! Lovely and creamy though
