I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

B: 2 hard-boiled eggs, slice of ham, spoonful of coleslaw and of grated cheese.
L: 3 chicken goujons dipped in garlic sauce (breaded is bad I know but still good compared to last week when I would have had chips or bread with it)

S: 3 mini spicy cheese sticks wrapped in parma ham. Plus half of a mini magnum. (I am easing my way in gradually. I would previously have had a whole large magnum, so having a mini one and leaving half felt good to me. Please don't berate me!)
D: later on will be having lemon sole fillet with prawns and creamy sauce, alongside a small portion of carrot spaghetti and lots of Savoy cabbage.
Be gentle, I'm new to this way of thinking and know from past experience that if I totally deprive myself of treats then I will abandon the regime and binge eat.

Today, I bought some Greek yoghurt, cream, loads of meat and veg and butter. I was worried about the cost of this with all the meat, but all the money I would have spent on crap I have just spent on meat instead.
Also been drinking and peeing all day. I definitely don't drink enough fluids so this will be good for me.

Just caught up with the new thread. Well done to all you losers and KOKO to everyone Flowers

I've lost 2.2lbs this week which I'm happy with. More would have been nice but it's just under 3 weeks since I had a missed miscarriage and the hospital said it would be up to 3 weeks until I got all the pregnancy hormones out of my system so that may be affecting things. Also, I've had a couple of minor slip ups (for which I'll borrow BIWI's big stick and wield at myself Grin) but I wasn't even sure the Saturday before Bootcamp started if I was mentally ready to jump back into low carb and forsake all the cake I'd been comfort eating. I'm really pleased to have completed week one and it's helping me to start to feel like myself again.

A couple of NSVs: my rings fit better, I can fasten my belt on the next hole up and I feel less bloated Smile

Mandelinka · 29/05/2017 16:53

Was woken up early today by our cat, he sleeps outside in his cat coop ( he goes bonkers at night and runs around the house and is super noisy). Anyway, he's been miaowing since about 5 so I ended up getting dressed at 7 and going for a run/walk. Lasted nearly twice as long as yesterday. Bit sore but happy I went.

Food today:
B: fried bacon, mushrooms, egg. Made a lovely salad with radishes, avocado, cream cheese, sunblushed tomatoes and mayo. Will def do again
L: leftovers - morning radish salad and creamy couli soup
D: Jamie's roasted chicken pieces (w bacon, lemon, spices and cherry tomatoes).
Creamy spinach w spring onions, Parmesan and cream

Hopefully there will be some leftovers for tomorrow.

S: black coffee, creamy coffee, few fried mushrooms

Water/mint tea: so far 2 l, will do another one before bed

MOIST · 29/05/2017 17:19

Aha! Here you are
I am thoroughly enjoying this. Many thanks to organising people.

5lbs off this week. Very happy and not hungry. And that was with night shifts and that bitch AF paying a visit.

Dinner out tonight which will be my first challenge. I will be needing alcohol which I've not had for over a week.

MOIST · 29/05/2017 17:24

Also I have the concentration span of a privet hedge so whether I manage to keep going is anyone's guess. But for now it's all fabulous.

imustbepatient · 29/05/2017 17:28

Adding my thanks to BIWI and all the others so crucial to these amazing BCs!

Today I've had

B one ham and cheese roll up, creamy coffee
L left over steak, asparagus, peppers and salad from yesterday's BBQ, with mustard mayo
D BBQ steak again! I'm going to rub it in some Moroccan type spices to make it taste a bit different to lunch. Will have with roast French beans and salad

I'm keeping on with my no weighing thing, as I think it works better for me, stops me getting despondent, anxious and generally obsessed with weighing. So I'm focusing on the NSVs like my rings feeling looser and fitting into a pair of trousers that were hideously tight when I last wore them.

WaaWaaWaaa · 29/05/2017 17:47

Hi guys! I'm not going to join officially as A: I'm late and B: I'm off on holiday in under 3 Weeks. However I'm currently 300 lbs and feeling awful. I need to change something and I'm finding this thread inspiring!

I've been shopping today and I have literally stuffed my fridge full of allowed things . I've made egg/bacon muffins and got a plan for the week! Let's see what I can do before I'm off to Spain. It's miserable on a plane anyway when you're huge but I'll also have my 20 month old daughter on my lap!

I have tried lchf before but not really got it! This spreadsheet is brilliant. I can't eat eggs on their own (not allergic just hate them) so this helps with the no egg option! And brilliant resources well dinner to the folk who put it together!

WaaWaaWaaa · 29/05/2017 17:49

Right now I'm going back to the beginning and I'm going to read the whole thread 😁

ilovecherries · 29/05/2017 18:42

Naschkatze, I use veg and butter to add bulk and calories. The ones I find lend themselves best to this are cauliflower, cabbage, aubergine, courgette and mushrooms. I went to Lidl and bought a trolley of the stuff. As well as the obvious cauliflower rice/couscous, I love cauliflower 'steaks'. Slice the head into half inch slices and fry in butter till soft inside and crispy on the outside. Season and sprinkle with cheese or whatever you fancy. Courgettes I either make into ribbons with a veg peeler or spiralize for courgetti. Use as a base for stir fries, bolongnsise, carbonara etc - loads of butter either way, season and herbs to taste. Aubergines I slice and use to make lasagne. Mushrooms I blitz in the food processor and use to bulk out minced lamb/beef/turkey. Courgettes also blitz well with and egg and then mix in chopped feta and shape into patties and fry.

herecomesthsun · 29/05/2017 18:42

I started 2 weeks ago and am down from 99 to 96.4kg.

I have some time off at home this Bank Holiday week which will help.

Today have had 3 hard boiled eggs with mayonnaise, some mushrooms and a couple of slices of bacon as an early lunch plus yoghurt with a few flaked almonds and a small Caesar salad for tea, and a very small egg thing with sausage meat on the outside.

We have been braving John Lewis and Ikea. The kids were seeing this as an exercise in how many beds they could jump upon. It would be good to have more low carb options in cafes wouldn't it?

Also coffee, mainly with almond milk.

Off to drink water now.

SayrraT · 29/05/2017 18:44

Welcome waawaa I'm sure you'll see a difference in the 3 weeks before your holiday if you jump right in and join us. Come back afterwards as well!

Loving the stereotypes, although you missed me:

'Total evangelist but complains and whines her way through the entire 10 weeks Blush'

I discovered a thing today: cod morney ready meal from Morrisons. Cod in creamy cheesy sauce basically Grin it's one of the metal tray, cook in the oven ones and it's bloody lush. 7g carb for the whole lot, there's supposed to be 2 portions but for 180 calories per portion it wasn't enough for me today so I had the lot with some cabbage cooked in butter.

If you need a quick, can't be bothered dinner I highly recommend it!

Today I started training for a 30 km, 2 day walk I want to do in the summer. I walked 10kms with the dogs, armed with 2 chicken thighs and a bottle of water. Managed it fine, so next weekend I'm upping it to 12kms Grin. I need to be able to complete 15kms (9 miles) in a day which will be significantly easier without the extra 6 stone of person I'm lugging about with me Hmm

On the plus side, dogs are KO'd for the evening, DP is out and I'm watching trashy TV in a charcoal peel off face pack Grin other picture is from my walk, beautiful way to spend a bank holiday Monday!

secretsignal · 29/05/2017 18:48

Welcome Waa
B: 2 boiled eggs with butter, having this a lot but it's quick and enjoying it
L: M&S ham and cheese roll up thingies, basically ham wrapped round cheese, was nice
D: Pan fried steak with mozzarella and sundried tomatoes (will just have a couple, are soaked in olive oil)
Probably a bit of ff Greek yog after

2 black coffees, 2 teas with almond mik, 2l water but will get to 2.5 by end of day

My loss wasn't huge, but I feel thinner and so much better.

JiminnyCricket · 29/05/2017 18:52

BIWI · 29/05/2017 18:58

Right, I'm back! Had a really lovely time, thoroughly enjoyed Valetta and can recommend it highly. Also 4 hot, totally sunny days, which was lovely.

Food was totally amazing, but - not surprisingly - wasn't Bootcamp-friendly.

Last evening out tonight with DH, and then I'm joining you, so this will be my week 1.

CaptainBraandPants · 29/05/2017 18:59

secret your food sounds nice, but not a lot of veg there.
Jiminny great photos, but disappointed the dogs weren't in them.
It's pissed it down most of the day here, so my poor pooch has only had one (long) walk this morning. DH is going to take her out this evening, but keeps putting it off.
Waa welcome.
herecomes yes, I agree about the lack of lc options in cafes. I think they are missing trick there.

herecomesthsun · 29/05/2017 19:00

Flowers] for MaryThorne
Jiminy, you have very beautiful eyes!

CaptainBraandPants · 29/05/2017 19:00

Welcome back BIWI, glad you had a fab time.

herecomesthsun · 29/05/2017 19:01

Interested that you have been to Malta BIWI(am half Maltese). Quite a carby cuisine, though there is seafood and mediterranean veg I guess.

ilovecherries · 29/05/2017 19:11

Courgetti Carbonara. It was so delicious I almost cried. And full of food I've avoided like the plague for 20 years.

Week 2 - Pre-summer low carb bootcamp
secretsignal · 29/05/2017 19:13

You're right CaptainB, my last bit of salad has gone manky, I have some green beans and will cook them in butter (at the risk of reigniting BeanGate) Grin

Oliversmumsarmy · 29/05/2017 19:13

Just tried vanilla extract in double cream. Thought it tasted quite strong. I am sat here thinking I must have something wrong with me. Room spinning legs gone.

Just had a look on the label (so busy looking at carbs didn't look at the ingredients) I have a major problem with alcohol. Even the slightest drop can render me incapable. Hence I never drink. Sodding stuff contains alcohol. I had 1/2 teaspoon.

Do you think Tesco would refund my £4.75. I thought there would have been a think 25 check
Given only a few weeks ago I was refused a lottery ticket because I didn't have proof i was over 25.

ilovecherries · 29/05/2017 19:17

Food for today
Brunch: Sausage, eggs, spinach, mushrooms, tomato
Snack: Mug of bullion (still feel I'm needing this every day to keep my salts up)
Dinner: HM Cougetti Carbonara. (One courgette per person, mushroom, asparagus and spinach)

JiminnyCricket · 29/05/2017 19:18

Apologies for lack of dog photo. Situation hopefully rectified Grin

Excuse the state of Eric, he decided to face plant a puddle because... basset.Hmm

Is this the recipe for flaxseed and almond bread that people are using: http://www.thelondoner.me/2014/03/mums-low-carb-bread.html once they're on to Bootcamp Light?I tried making it but I'm sure someone said to cut down the amount of eggs so I used three instead of four.
