I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

Darn, I've just weighed myself naked and I'm over 1.5lbs lighter than my weigh in this morning. I'll bank it for next weekSmile

SayrraT · 29/05/2017 13:25

Each BC we get the same posters, for a wee bit of fun I've listed the "BC Stereotypes" below Grin

This is a joke and not aimed at anyone but do let me know if you recognise yourself Grin

  1. The one who does it. Someone who has decided enough is enough and throws themselves wholeheartedly into LCHF.
  1. The cheater. They fall off the wagon every week, maybe every day! Then complain when the reason they've not lost weight is pointed out to them.
  1. The one it doesn't work for. They claim they are doing everything right (I think some are, some aren't) but the weight stays on. I have sympathy for these people.
  1. The lucky ones. They cheat, just a little, but lose 7lbs each week.
  1. The one that isn't doing BC! They come on the thread and tell us all how we just need to eat less, move more and calories in/calories out. They've probably never had a weight problem!

Could someone please send the link for the weigh in? I can't find it and I have a loss to record 😊

ShastaBeast · 29/05/2017 13:47

I drowned my weigh in sorrows with sweat at the gym.

Didn't eat until lunch - has anyone done the intermittent fasting alongside and had success? 16/8 type? We tend to eat quite late so that would have to change but I often have breakfast late.

I had pork crackling, cold roast chicken leg, olives and salad but didn't manage it all. Creamy coffee after and we are trying almond milk for the first time - waiting for my tea to cool.

Low carb sausages possibly for dinner with gravy and veggies.

I had whipped double cream as a pudding last night, very filling, more so than unwhipped. I think I'm craving raspberries because they were the last thing I dropped before starting BC proper.

I'm probably drinking enough overall but not consistently spread out through the day. I need to work on that.

OldBooks · 29/05/2017 13:49

Sayrra you forgot the lovely helpful encouraging ones!

MyShinyThing · 29/05/2017 13:53

I think I'm probably a 2 Sayrra Blush although I'm determined to be a 1 this week!

I wore a bikini for the first time ever after completing bootcamp last summer. I felt bloody amazing! & then I gained a stone back because the occasional cheats turned into an everyday thing. But I will get there again!

ShastaBeast · 29/05/2017 13:56

And thanks C4 for the meds understanding. I've come off a lot since pain clinic but it's crept back, especially at night. I have lidocaine patches which I should use more.

HemanOrSheRa · 29/05/2017 13:57

Heehee! I am definitely number 1 at the moment. I can hand on heart say I haven't cheated or slipped because I'm frightened of BIWI Grin. You've missed off number 6 which is highly likely to be me at some point -

I know it works. I know it makes me feel better but I caaaaaan't doooooo iiiiiiiiit. I know I said I wanted to lose weight for my holiday. But I don't care .

SayrraT · 29/05/2017 13:58

Oh no, so I did OldBooks and they are the most important!

OP posts:
ShastaBeast · 29/05/2017 14:02

I'm aspiring to be a 1 but slipping into 3 territory. No cheating so far. Something clicked after years of wanting to change and not taking action. Having these threads is helping a lot.

Almond milk tea is pretty good!

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 29/05/2017 14:09

ShastaBeast you bloody love your rasberries don't you? Grin

I'm a number 4. Only a once a week cheat though, and not quite a half a stone weigh loss!

FinallyHere · 29/05/2017 14:10

Oh, yes, [giggle] SayrraT I think I recognise myself in several of those, spread over different BCs.

Could we add some, how about

there is often someone around, wielding a big stick

Someone newly converted and enthusiastically evangelising the message

Someone who has eaten their bodyweight in chocolate and determined to draw a line and start again.

Someone who thinks sod it, slinks off and misses out on all the support available.....

That last one sometimes reappears a few BCs later on when it clicks as the 'evangelist'

Is there maybe one who signs up v v early but has fallen off the LCHF waggon before BC actually starts

Dumdedumdedum · 29/05/2017 14:24

Congratulations, great losses all round! Except for me, that is! I started LCHF a week early, and had a lovely loss of 5lbs, but I only managed to lose 1lb this week! Bitupset I haven't "gone down" a stone, this week, just 1lb less again would have done it! Never mind, I was horrified to find last Tuesday that I'd gained 2lbs overnight, so have been watching myself all week. Reduced cheese intake and upped exercise. For various reasons, I didn't go swimming between Monday and Friday and I really find that just 20 minutes a day helps me with the weight loss, so I have to be more conscientious about it.
I've not been posting much as I don't have much to say!
Good luck this week, everyone! And thank you to the people who look after us all so well - BIWI, SayrraT, StuntNun, and wombattoo, too.

SayrraT · 29/05/2017 14:25

Oh, these are good!

I think several sign up and never manage to get started or drop out in the first few weeks. It's not the easiest WOE (but it is the best Grin).

Oliversmumsarmy · 29/05/2017 14:28

I lost 4.25lbs and 2" off my waist.

At the moment I have terrible insomnia (anything from 1.5 - 4 hours sleep per night) which leaves me exhausted at some points in the day. I have started drinking diet coke. I know you shouldn't but it is the only thing that gives me a boost. I don't drink litres of it but just 1 or 2 glasses per day. At the moment I have so many worries that it is the only thing that gets me through.

I was also concerned with the fact that everyone posting what they are eating seems to eat so much less than I do. Does this matter if I am sticking (apart from the diet coke) to the LCHF bit. Does it matter about the quantities you eat if it is 0 carbs.

I find I am eating between 15-25 carbs per day.

cathyandclare · 29/05/2017 14:35

I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure that the idea is to focus on cutting carbs and upping fat and not restricting quantities at the beginning. As we get into it, hopefully hunger will drop and we'll naturally eat less. so don't worry about the amount and well done for keeping the carbs low.

I find I struggle to sleep when going into ketosis, then after that I sleep like a log, so hopefully the end is in sight.

Unhairymaclary · 29/05/2017 14:39

6lbs down for me which feels amazing! I'm not expecting to lose this much every week from now on but it is the boost I needed at the start. Just back from a food festival with a lot of tempting food on offer. I had a few samples of different cheeses and chorizo but managed to avoid the sweet treats! Lovely lunch of beef short rib with homemade coleslaw and jalapeño. Good luck to everyone for week 2!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 29/05/2017 14:44

This was this morning's breakfast, together with a creamy coffee. I had it quite late (10.30) but DC and DH have had lunch but I haven't because I don't feel hungry yet.

Star to those who have posted losses and Flowers to those who are disappointed. I am sure it will come, we all respond differently.

Heman this is definitely me! Blush

nekobus · 29/05/2017 15:08

Love the stereotypes! Can see myself in 1 or 3 of these Grin

Oliversmumsarmy · 29/05/2017 15:10

Thanks Cathyandclare my insomnia has been going on for quite a time. It is not diet related. Dp very ill, one child looking at colleges for next year and struggling with GCSE work (dyslexic and has dysgraphia). My eldest leaving after only a year at college and jumping in with both feet to a really precarious career. Plus sleeping on the sofa whilst dds room is done which is being held up by a work man who never appears when he should.

Yorkshirebornandbred · 29/05/2017 15:14

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but well done to everyone.

I'm down 4.3 lbs which I'm really pleased with, I didn't think I'd lost anything.

I'll read the thread now ....

Nosocksevermatchup · 29/05/2017 15:16

I've managed to find and update the spreadsheet! I've lost 3 lbs, I'm really pleased with that. I think u possibly need to drink more water and incorporate more exercise, so I'll get onto that this week.

ilovecherries · 29/05/2017 15:27

Well, I'm celebrating a NSV :). It's about a year since my last orthopaedic surgery, and I've been off the morphine patches maybe 6 months, so I've gradually been trying to get back to some level of fitness, even though fat. Today we had an early brunch and set off to do a 5 mile circuit with a fair bit of ascent. Now usually I'm complaining bitterly 'my legs are jelly, I'm too weak to go on, do you think I've hit the wall? (about 2 miles out Grin), I'm starving, can you get me (another) snack size mars bar out of the rucksack, pass me some jelly beans' etc etc etc. I'd have done a bit of carb loading before we left, and collapsed into the nearest coffee shop as soon as we returned to the car. Today - sausage, eggs , spinach and tomatoes, no toast. No sweets or snacks while walking. No feeling of weakness, no straggling, no whinging. On return, bypassed the cream scones, my usual treat or surviving the ordeal, and had a mug of bullion. My only challenge was I had to find a bush to pee behind and one leg doesn't bend properly so a deep squat was out of the question, leading to, ahem, a rather DAMP experience. I'm shattered and I feel great :)
