I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

Kate, sure it's not too late!

StuntNun · 31/05/2017 22:03

Shasta in general the markers of cardiovascular disease (cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure etc.) improve on a low carb diet.

BIWI · 31/05/2017 22:09

@ShastaBeast yes there is evidence that low carbing can lower bad cholesterol - if you have a look at the spreadsheet and the resources on there you should find some information. The lovely StuntNun might also be able to point you in the right direction too.

Meanwhile, I can recommend a book called The Great Cholesterol Con by Dr Malcolm Kendrick. (I think he has a blog too so maybe worth Googling him)

@Nosocksevermatchup

Yesterday:
B - coffee with cream

Where's your breakfast? You are supposed to eat breakfast in the first two weeks of Bootcamp!

L- two boiled eggs, mayo, asparagus.

This sounds fine - I hope that the mayo was full fat, and that you had butter on your asparagus?

D - cod, pan fried in butter and garlic, green salad, Asparagus. Broccoli roasted in oil. Mayo.

Sounds perfect! Again, hope the mayo was full fat, and that you had an oily dressing on your salad?

3 litres of water minimum, tea with almond milk.

Sounds good! I assume you've based the amount of water on your weight? Check rule 6 on the spreadsheet if you haven't

Today-
B- coffee with cream.

Again, why no breakfast?

L - two boiled eggs, prawns, green salad, mayo,

Good - but comments as above!

D - asparagus soup from morrisons ..about 8 g of carbs. Small piece of cheddar cheese.

Doesn't sound like much - you could have had a bigger piece of cheese!

More than 3 litres of water.
Two coffees with cream

Again, sounds good - but check how much you need to be drinking

MOIST · 31/05/2017 22:11

Today's food. After night shifts.

2pm. Cream coffee. Egg in a mug (microwaved egg with butter. Taste sensation!)

10pm. Leftover big mushrooms baked with mozzarella and butter. Lettuce and mayo.
The lettuce was a bit muddy and gritty. Is there carbs in mud?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 31/05/2017 22:13

I am delighted to report I survived drinks and dinner SmileHalo

I stuck to sparkling water (and ignored all the lovely wine), ate pigeon for starter (not a fan), sea trout and French beans for main, waved away the bread and the creme brûlée with shortbread, ignored the chocolate and had some lovely Brie and cheddar.

nekobus · 31/05/2017 22:14

Today's food:

B - ff total yog, cream, vanilla powder
This time only about 50g yog - just wasn't hungry
L - salady bits: leftover chicken, leaves, cheese, olives, lots of dressing
D - cauliflower curry with some chicken breast roasted in oil. The others had nan bread and rice. I didn't feel deprived at all!
S - one babybel, creamy coffee
At least 2L of water, need to drink more

My instant pot arrived today Grin looking forward to trying lots of LC recipes and really want to make yogurt (never tried before)
Anyone else got one? Was it you Jim who was making yogurt?

glenthebattleostrich · 31/05/2017 22:14

I have tea with cream, I make it very strong with just a dash of cream.

I also love chai tea with cream and coconut oil, tis lovely.

To celebrate my first stone I went for a manicure

achangeisgonnacome · 31/05/2017 22:25

B: full fat Greek yogurt
L: pack of marks prosciutto wrapped round cheese (10 in a pack)
D: meatballs in tomatoes pasta sauce, with cauliflower cheese
S: two coffees

Water intake was better today, although still a little short of the 2.5l that I should be drinking - 1.9l only

SayrraT · 31/05/2017 22:25

Really well done wayoftheworld Smile

Perfect way to celebrate glen I definitely need to have alternative treats for when I'd previously have said ooh, let's have coffee and cake to celebrate.

Ciarabean · 31/05/2017 22:30

B: coffee with cream, hard boiled egg.
L: avocado and prawn salad
D: (out for dinner so did my best) ham hock terrine with salad, left the toast; steak fried in butter, salad. Peppermint tea. No wine or pudding!
2.5L water today. Feel much more energetic too.

Nosocksevermatchup · 31/05/2017 22:31

BIWI...
I don't really feel like breakfast, but I'll make a start. I'll have Greek yoghurt tomorrow or eggs.
Yes, all salad has dressing on, usually just olive oil. Mayo is full fat from lidl.

For my weight I should have three litres....do you think I'm drinking too much?
I bought the total low fat yogurt by mistake, but not had any yet. But when I was looking it had fewer carbs in it than the full fat one. Can thus he right?

Thanks for checking it over for me, Smile .

CobOnTheCorn · 31/05/2017 22:36

B: coffee and cream, boiled egg with butter and salt
L: sliced beef rolled up with horseradish and rocket inside, some halloumi, half an avocado
D: picnic from M&S including roast chicken slices, crispy bacon, Caesar dresssing, little gem leaves, grated Parmesan, guacamole and chargrilled artichokes

About 4l of water and probable 1l of herbal tea

HemanOrSheRa · 31/05/2017 22:51

I've got an Instant pot nekobus. I love it and use it most days. Making yogurt in it is really easy Smile.

nekobus · 31/05/2017 22:54

Really excited about it heman, joined the instant pot FB group too Grin DH not so keen as he thinks it'll take up too much space but I've promised to get rid of old slow cooker as I won't need it now! I bought a gammon to do in it and will be making stock and lots of lovely cuts of meat.

nekobus · 31/05/2017 23:01

Nice colour glen and well done in the stone!

sheepysheep · 31/05/2017 23:12

Ooo I've gone from having never heard of an instant pot to desperately wanting one! But do I need one? I have a slow cook oven on my Rayburn which I use a lot. Would the instant pot replace that / be better than that? Does is make good yoghurt? Sooo tempted..

HemanOrSheRa · 31/05/2017 23:12

I've had to turn off the notifications for the Instant Pot FB page - it's very active! They are all really helpful though and it was invaluable when I first got my pot. I've had mine for well over a year and I bought my sister one so now she is hooked Grin.

readyforno2 · 31/05/2017 23:13

Jiminny
I got married in 2014. Lost 6 1/2 stone doing

CobOnTheCorn · 31/05/2017 23:15

I have been drooling over a instant pot but I can't justify the cost at the moment. Are you familiar with Nom Nom Paleo nekobus and Heman? Some interesting looking recipes on there.

readyforno2 · 31/05/2017 23:16

Ah.. dropped my phone and posted too soon..

Anyway, I lost 6 1/2 stone doing Lchf. I was pushing myself really hard and tried to lose a stone every time dh was away for a month.
Can't wait to see pictures of you in your dress!

B - yoga with cream
L - salad with smoked salmon
D - salad with chicken and loads of mayo

3.5l water, 3 coffees w/cream

Was at the trainer tonight. He pushed me really far tonight, I was shaking when I came home.

Mandelinka · 31/05/2017 23:20

Got my period today so feeling bloated, tired and moody. Had a busy day at work, manager was getting on my nerves 🙄

S: ff yoghurt. Black coffee

Water, green tea - close to 3 l

Lanaa · 31/05/2017 23:24

I love my Instant Pot Nekobus. It's worth its weight in gold and is the one appliance that has a permanent place on the worktop.

HemanOrSheRa · 31/05/2017 23:25

I love mine sheepy. It will cook chicken breasts in about 8 mins or so and they are really tender and juicy. A Bolognese sauce would take about 10 mins once you'very sautéed everything. You do have to let the pressure release naturally for meat so that adds some time on - about 10 - 15 mins but you just leave it, you don't have to do anything. A whole chicken takes about 35 mins plus 10 mins or so pressure release and leaves delicious juices for gravy.

The yogurt is amazing. I use whole organic milk and you need a starter. I buy a small pot of natural yogurt with active bacteria - something like Total or Yeovil Valley. You only need a small amount of that. That's it! I strain my yogurt through a muslin cloth to drain off the whey and I'm left with the thickest creamiest yogurt ever. I'm going to make some this week I think. Once you've made a batch you can use your own yogurt as a starter but I'm not that organised generally Grin. As I'm eating a lot more yogurt now I'm going to get back into making batches.

HemanOrSheRa · 31/05/2017 23:30

You must try the Kahlua Pork recipe that is in the cook book that comes with the pot neko. It's so easy and really delicious.

I will have a look at that sitells Cob. There are loads of Instant Pot recipes on the Skinny Taste website which can be tweaked for LCHF.
