I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

There are lots of low carb instant pot Facebook groups too.

JustRosieHere · 31/05/2017 23:48

Hi everyone. I've lurked here for a while and have been low carbing for 10 weeks and lost 11lbs. I feel so much better in myself, skin clearer, more energy, less cellulite. I found it really hard at first to shake off the craving for sweet stuff especially as in our office there always seems to be someone bringing in cake! Also people didn't seem to understand why I wouldn't eat it. Got quite a few funny looks and comments but they seem to be over it now.

I've felt less motivated these last couple of weeks and I'm definitely letting the carbs creep in! Hoping for some good meal ideas from everybody as well as a kick up the bum not to undo all my hard work now. The only think I'm worrying about is we have quite a few weddings coming up. What do I do when I have no control over the food? I don't even know what's going to be on offer at some of them

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 01/06/2017 00:31

I'm still amazed at how much S@#T we can hold onto.

As I mentioned earlier Saturday night weighed 229.9 today 219.6.
The body retains so much fluid and garbage.
Been back LCHF proper since Monday and still amazed.

For those wondering what to do after boot camp the answer is KOKO. Just keep eating this way and then add in the odd carby thingy because you want to. Because as I just found out getting a 22lb weight gain, eating and drinking any old crap in just 3 weeks. Pretty sure if I hadn't dropped the carbs the weight wouldn't drop off this week so fast.

Yeah day 1 over for today onwards to Day 1 tomorrow.

Nobody Cheats on Day 1 of a diet.

Yorkshirebornandbred · 01/06/2017 01:49

Today I had bacon fried eggs and mushrooms for breakfast, lunch was just a snack of salami, ham and cheese with a creamy coffee, dinner was mince in gravy (fairly low carb) with asparagus and cauliflower and broccoli in cream with a little grated cheese. Snacks of more creamy coffee and some artichoke in oil from Aldi.

A bit heavy on dairy today ... I need to cut back I think.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 01/06/2017 06:17

Now I want an instapot too. Looks amazing but would it go the way of my slow cooker - never used and taking up space!

OldBooks · 01/06/2017 06:59

Weighed this morning, 16.2 on Monday to 15.11 today. Have been following to the letter - no slip ups - so I am very pleased to be back in the 15s. I don't ever want to see 16 on a scales again

Veryflummoxed · 01/06/2017 07:52

nameless Flowershow distressing for you. Well done resististing. I imagine it will take a while to feel yourself again.

Veryflummoxed · 01/06/2017 08:07

Good for you Glen and well done 👍 on the loss that's brilliant.

Style I've been doing this a year now and the longer I do it the less I want these things. Don't get me wrong I still fall into carbfests on occasion (too often) but to be honest this is emotional eating and I am enjoying these foods less and less. Re special events. If I make the choice not based on my emotions to enjoy a small slice of birthday cake, a mince pie whatever, I can enjoy it and move on. However to be honest for me having none is often easier that having a little and recognising this is in itself helpful. I prefer to envisage myself not as never having these things again but as not really wanting to have them again. But I thing everyone's tolerance for dipping into carbs now and then will be different.

sheepysheep · 01/06/2017 08:11

heman and everyone else you've convinced me that I need a one pot in my life! The boys get through £5 of fage a week so even if I just make yoghurt in it it'll pay for itself in no time! And once I've got the hang of yoghurt I will be trying stuntnuns lovely coconut yoghurt recipe :-)

And waawaa buttered ham is one of my go to meals in the services (I travel a bit with work). Wafer thin ham + butter + little gem lettuces and a creamy coffee. Butter the ham like bread and roll it up et voila! But be prepared for some funny looks ...!

AdalindSchade · 01/06/2017 08:13

I don't find yoghurt making to be very economical myself! £1 for a litre of organic milk, 50p for a pot of yeo valley as a starter and if I want the yoghurt as creamy as I like it I don't end up with more than 500ml. It's yummy but no cheaper than total and more expensive than lidl

nekobus · 01/06/2017 08:27

Thanks for all the instant pot ideas! Off for a look at those websites Smile

BloodInMyCaffeineStream · 01/06/2017 08:27

Is anyone else horribly constipated? I haven't been this bad since i was pregnant!
Any tips? I've tried the usual (lots of water, coffee, psyllium husk, lots if veg) and senna gives me cramps! Help!

NamelessEnsign · 01/06/2017 08:29

flummoxed thank you very much. It brought back memories of being hit by a drunk driver 10 years ago (driven off the motorway and my friend fractured her spine). I am still a bit wobbly but those poor people 😔.

Can I request one small non BC change for everyone to make today? Don't use our phones when driving! It could have been so much worse yesterday.

NamelessEnsign · 01/06/2017 08:30

caffeinestream quite the opposite here. Are you eating enough fat?

nekobus · 01/06/2017 08:35

Of course you need one sheepy! (Make me feel better about my impulse buy 😂 ) my rationale was that I can get rid of slow cooker and I wanted to buy a pressure cooker so this is better with more functions.
Also I just got paid and felt like a treat having been mostly bound for last few weeks!

AdalindSchade · 01/06/2017 08:39

I poo less on bootcamp naturally. Are you sure you aren't just needing to go less?

nekobus · 01/06/2017 08:43

Blood are you uncomfortable with it or just not going so often?

I try a v strong coffee first thing, or flax meal on my yogurt I think has helped. Magnesium tablets supposed to help too but I read that it's because they are badly absorbed in the body (certainly the most common type - magnesium oxide) worth a try?

RedBeanie · 01/06/2017 08:54

Had creamy tea this morning. Was a bit sickly and couldn't finish it. Hope everyone has a great day and those poorly are on the mend ☺️

ilovecherries · 01/06/2017 08:56

Naschkatze, Heman, anybody else interested - have added Mousakka recipe to the recipe thread.

sheepysheep · 01/06/2017 09:01

I've just about convinced myself nekobus, especially as they are on offer on Amazon at the moment!

Agreed Adalind - what I didn't mention is that I live on a farm! I'm sat having a creamy coffee watching my future slow cook lamb wandering around outside (sorry if that's a bit macabre). We don't have dairy cows but best mate in the next village does so I can get plenty of milk Smile The irony is that she's vegan and her fridge is full of nut milk!!!

Pengweng · 01/06/2017 09:02

Dinner last night was sausages roasted med veg.

breakfast today is bacon and eggs
Lunch - Tuna salad
Dinner - gammon, egg and roasted broc (DH will have potatoes)

Fridays dinner is Salmon and cauli rice and buttered cabbage or just roasted cauli if i can't be arsed to get the food processor out.

Sat is courgetti carbonara from further up the thread. It sounds delicious THANKS!

Sunday is roast chicken and what ever is left in the fridge as we are going camping on Monday for a week. Bit worried about that but i have lots of cheese/tins of tuna and eggs so should be fine.

Re pooping: I def poo less when LCing. And as soon as i eat something carby it seems to go straight through me. Not fun!
Back in the day i'd have suggested a fag and a strong black coffee but that's not very healthy so maybe just the coffee Grin

BloodInMyCaffeineStream · 01/06/2017 09:02

Nameless i think so
Neko not really, it's very odd for me though

imustbepatient · 01/06/2017 09:06

Oh god you lot have got me adding an instant pot to my wish list for yet more kitchen gadgets. DH will be so delighted...

Yes to the buttered ham thing, it tastes delicious, just butter a slice like bread. I usually add a slice of cheese in the middle and wrap it all up.

The glass butter dish I bought a while back for about £5 is one of my best buys! It just stays in the counter so I always have soft spreadable butter without having to buy the spreadable ones in tubs that also have bad vegetable oils and other nasties in them. Plus the foil wrapped packs of solid butter are usually cheaper so I treat myself to the nice organic ones.

Hmm I seem to have turned into someone slightly obsessed with butter. Gotta love LCHF!

ilovecherries · 01/06/2017 09:11

patient, I haven't eaten butter for 30 years. I'm just opened my third block since starting since boot camp 10 days ago. Haven't eaten it ALL myself, it's been used for sautéing etc in family meals, but OMG, the taste... can't believe I've been eating low fat spread for all these years, when something as delicious as butter exists. I find myself looking at cows and wanting to give them a hug.
