I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

Jiminny I think I cross-posted with you above - thank you so much for sharing ... I too am quite emotional reading that! You are truly an inspiration, and how lovely that you're getting married next year!

I love junk food and am a sugar addict. I'm not too bad during the day, but I really pig out after around 8pm when the kids are in bed. That's going to be a hard habit to break. But I will try, the health benefits seem great ...

Sorry if I ask lots of newbie questions, I've read the spreadsheet and the dietdoctor info is helpful too. It's just about how to make the adjustments when society is so high-carb, eg lunch at work, and making sure the kids get enough carbs as I don't want to restrict them (and they won't like all the salad/veg/meat so I think I'll have to cook separately for me).

And I really will miss potatoes :( I love chips.

WaaWaaWaaa · 31/05/2017 11:29

Jimminy you could nearly get another person in that dress! Well done!

RedBeanie · 31/05/2017 11:30

I won't be weighing, that's usually my downfall, so I won't join the spreadsheet - hope this is ok! And I'll probably start properly at the weekend, I want to clear out some 'bad' freezer food and can't bring myself to chuck it Hmm

StuntNun · 31/05/2017 11:32

Apparently the low carb bread can be frozen. It's definitely one to keep in reserve for Bootcamp Light.

Cookingongas · 31/05/2017 11:34

Jim- brilliant inspirational story! Thank
You for sharing .

How does everyone do their pork belly? I have two slices here to cook, not sure how?

JiminnyCricket · 31/05/2017 11:39

Cookingongas I put mine in the oven on 220 degrees for 20 minutes then turn the oven down to 160 for another hour for a joint, for the little pieces you can get i do the same but for 20 mins then turn it down for 30 mins :) Also salt the skin well and pat it dry before it goes in :)

JiminnyCricket · 31/05/2017 11:58

WaaWaaWaaa honestly when I put it on this morning I thought "huh, feels a bit roomy in here" but didn't think anything else of it Blush.. then didnt pass a mirror until I got to work and tend to avoid mirrors at home other than for makeup!

My work friend lost about 3 stone in the last 6 months and is now at a healthy weight, she says to get a couple of key pieces now but not to go mad because at this rate I'll have shrunk out of them by the end of summer so it's a bit f a waste. I'm loathed to buy anything in this size 2bh.

On the plus side, planning to spend an extortionate amount of money on makeup in the next few weeks Grin you cant shrink out of that!

imustbepatient · 31/05/2017 11:59

Loving the inspiring stories and photos! Definitely a shopping trip needed for you young Jim Grin

My food for today will be:

B 2 x buttered ham and cheese roll ups, black coffee
L salad with prawn, avocado and mozzarella, dressed with olive olive and apple cider vinegar (I get a raw organic one with 'the mother' after reading about the gut health / pre-biotic benefits of it. Plus it tastes good!)
D roast chicken thighs, skin on, with some roast broccoli and cauli tossed in some Moroccan style spices

Happy LCHFing everyone!

imustbepatient · 31/05/2017 12:04

Cross post Jim with your last one. How about treating yourself to something like a really nice wrap dress or similar, as you can tighten it a bit more as you keep losing, so it will look good now but also shrink with you - for a while anyway!

cathyandclare · 31/05/2017 12:19

Fantastic post Jim
I managed well on my anniversary meal out, roasted chicken with béarnaise sauce, cauliflower and wensleydale puree (yum) and buttered spinach. One of the regained pounds has gone. Today I'm having;
B: Creamy coffee
L: cheese and mayo dip with celery
D: Sea bass with pesto and green salad

TheWayOfTheWorld · 31/05/2017 12:28

Afternoon.

Some great inspiring stories on here - giving me some impetus to KOKO Grin

B: Total yoghurt, some chicken and a creamy coffee.
L: tuna mayo salad, perhaps with some cheese on the side
D: absolutely no idea. Have work drinks and dinner tonight - will be on sparkling water but I think dinner is a set menu. Will have what I am allowed and leave everything else. May have a BC snack beforehand so that I am not too hungry.

RubyGoat · 31/05/2017 12:38

There's also Mevgal Greek Yoghurt which I spotted in my local farm shop. Not as high in protein though... I don't have a Lidl locally, sadly.

Flibbertyjibbit · 31/05/2017 12:41

I've been lurking as I am a repeat offender of signing up to bootcamp then dropping out a week later.

Thank you Jiminny for your sharing your story, I'm over 19 stone and also getting married next year in May. I'm on day 5 of low carb and hope that I can stick to it this time.

wombattoo · 31/05/2017 12:47

Hi everyone
Jiminny - you def need a shopping trip. Well done.
littlebillie Well done on your weight loss.

Welcome RedBeanie and Calaboosh

Red My DH eats carbs but we usually have the same meals. Tonight is slow cooked lamb. I will have a bit of salad with mine, he is having flatbreads.
He just adds extras on for himself.

Give it a try and see how you get on. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

wombattoo · 31/05/2017 12:48

Welcome back Flibberty and congratulations. Thanks

JiminnyCricket · 31/05/2017 13:03

Basically no carb (0.2 in the whole pack) and from Tesco. These and olives for lunch!

C4pinkwheels · 31/05/2017 13:05

Jimmy I want to see you in your wedding dress, you are going to look stunning. I think we should form a guard of honour with whole salami sausages for you.

My lab results are back - kidney infection, feel grim. I have 48hrs to show some improvement or I'm off to high dependency for IV antibiotics and oxygen on top of my normal ventilation.

My lovely ex daughter in law called in with flowers and made me a cappuccino with almond milk and DH has popped home to make scrambled eggs. My sons new partner is arriving at 3:30. Feeling wrapped up in love.

I'm so lucky to have my family

ShastaBeast · 31/05/2017 13:10

It's great to hear the positive signs so far. It gives me hope. I'd like to get my mum onboard but she dieted forever and just gained, partly due to meds which are notorious for weight gain.

I tried my entire wardrobe yesterday and have found a few items I can use as a target. I have clothes in 5 different sizes, admittedly the smallest was from when I was 16.

I feel quite sick still, not sure if I have a bug or it's the diet. I feel a bit ill and weak. Managed creamy coffee at 10ish and yoghurt at 12. I'll have a late lunch of prosciutto, avocado and salad with black olives. I'm at work so not good to feel like this. I'm also having a bad pain day and still weeing loads.

OldBooks · 31/05/2017 13:12

Jiminny your story is really inspiring, thank you for sharing.

C4 sorry you are so poorly.

It can take some time to relearn your body's sensations of hunger and satiety sorry, can't remember who said this but I am finding this at the moment, had a 'normal' portion of tea last night and finished it despite feeling uncomfortably full, then felt quite sick the rest of the evening.

Yes to big puddles of fat! Delicious and satisfying.

JiminnyCricket · 31/05/2017 13:25

C4pinkwheels I'll be starting wedding dress shopping in September and I'll absolutely be posting photos on a future bootcamp!

MyShinyThing · 31/05/2017 13:25

Does this look okay as a portion size? It was half an avocado, cucumber, spinach & romaine lettuce and then a slice of pork belly. I also measured out the olive oil & used 3 tablespoons, which is a lot less than usual!

PlymouthMaid1 · 31/05/2017 13:32

Afternoon all - creamy coffee and tuna sald so farm qorun curry tonight. Might eat the avocado sat on my desk or some yoghurt later today.

Questions:
is coconut milk ok in coffee?

which cream cheese do people us for cooking as having checked sains, tesco, lidly and adldi they only seem to do phillly or philly copies not real cream cheese??

C4pinkwheels · 31/05/2017 13:35

Jimmy when I got engaged I'd been doing LC for about six months and had dropped 2 dress sizes. When I married 16 months later I had dropped another 5 dress sizes and had to have it taken in.
You are going to feel awesome in your wedding dress xxx

cabbage67 · 31/05/2017 13:45

RedBeannie It's so easy. I'm a massive picker and I'm at home a lot in the week and I have a tendency to pick out of boredom a lot of the time I've come to realise. Since doing this I can honestly say I've not picked once or felt the need for snacks. The only time I really feel hungry is when I wake up in the morning.

Give it to a go its the best and easiest diet, or whatever you like to call it, that I've done - and I haven't even lost any weight yet! Although I can feel the difference and have lost inches around my waist and arms

Polkadotties · 31/05/2017 14:01

Only 2lbs lost this week :( I normally lose quite a bit in the first week so this is disappointing.
I was diagnosed with depression in January and prescribed fluoxetine, I lost a bit of weight to begin with then my weight started creeping up. I started feeling rubbish again and comfort ate.
I hope the anti depressants aren't slowing down my weight loss, I feel so miserable at this size :(
