Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

Morning everyone!

B -boiled egg and ham, plus cup of tea
L-will be a preprepped, egg, smoked salmon and avocado salad
D-not sure yet, as it'll be whatever Blackpool's Hilton have for room service - travelling up for work and won't get there till late.

One thing I struggle with, is drinking 3l of water in a day- surely I'll be in the loo half the time?

HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 08:42

Shock Jiminny that is amazing!

achangeisgonnacome · 22/05/2017 08:43

Mean to ask if someone could please add my weight to the spreadsheet. 127lbs. Many thanks. X

Way to go, Jiminny!

Well, I'm 200.6lbs. Can't work out how to add my weight onto the list, but I'm on my iPad, so will try on the computer later.

I want to lose 20.6 lbs, which would bring me into the overweight range. I go on holiday the weekend before the final weigh in, and would love to be a size 14 by then (currently a generous 16).

I'm full of admiration for those of you who can plan ahead. I'm useless at that - but I do have a fridge and veg rack full of suitable goodies.

This morning - coffee with cream and veg omelette - 2 eggs, leek, asparagus, mushrooms, red pepper and a splash of cream. I have worked out how to post a photo Star.

MaryThorne Flowers hope this BC helps you feel positive

Indeed Flowers for everyone who mentioned that they gained weight due to trauma, bereavement and ill health.

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 08:52

Today's menu:

B: coconut coffee (50ml coconut cream and 1tsp coconut oil in black coffee)

L: smoked salmon gravadlax salad with 1/2 avocado and olive oil dressing

D: cod fillets cooked in butter, lemon butter sauce, roasted cauliflower and kale cooked off in more butter. Grin

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 08:57

C4pink it sounds really weird but you really don't need to exercise to lose weight Smile. In fact, there's evidence to show that those with more than 2st to lose to get into the healthy weight bracket are actually better off not exercising because it causes appetite increases.

The school of thought now is that exercise should be used as a way to measure fitness increases, not as a method to actually drop weight.

We're so used to thinking in terms of calories in calories out it can be hard to stop thinking like that, but our bodies are much more complex than simple thermodynamics!

To put it into human terms, when I run, I lose less than I do on weeks where I don't run. I love to run so for me exercise is about mental wellbeing not weight loss :)

So don't worry, being a wheelchair user doesn't mean you can lose huge amounts of weight on this WOE Grin

StuntNun · 22/05/2017 09:00

There are lots of people on here who have been having a tough time lately, let's hope that taking charge of our weight can help with emotional recovery. The support here isn't limited to food information so if you're having a stressful time then please do say. Those are the most challenging times to stay on track but with help you can do it. Or if everything goes wrong we can help you get back into low carb.

Don't worry if you can't exercise, it isn't necessary for weight loss, although it is good for overall health.

Well done on your whoosh Jiminny. Onwards and downwards!

I got up to find my yogurt had gone off so I've put a new batch on for tomorrow. Today so far:
Breakfast: two eggs mashed with salt crystal butter, a piece of cheese, coffee with cream, tea with almond milk and a pint of water.
Lunch will be sea bass fillets with courgette, green pepper and a little red onion roasted in olive oil. Nom.

Giving up chocolate is going to be a challenge. I tend to assume it's an essential nutrient. Grin

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 09:01

fallen breakfast sounds good, just watch the red pepper, its too carby for the first 2 weeks :) general rule of thumb, if the veggie tastes sweet, it's carby.

styledilemma · 22/05/2017 09:02

Is it possible to do a lot of excercise on low carb?
I do 3 (fairly intense,) classes per week. I usually have carbs beforehand (small bowl of oats and half a banana) and my protein afterwards.
How do I continue with my classes without feeling weak?
Are oats allowed at all?

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 09:04

stunt your dinner sounds lush, I really miss onions, may reintroduce them after the first 2 weeks are over :)

I hear you on the chocolate! You can buy raw cocoa nibs in Tesco, I find grinding a teaspoon of those up and mixing through Greek yoghurt keeps my chocolate cravings at bay if I'm really struggling!

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 09:08

styled mo farrah ran the 2012 Olympic marathon in ketosis Wink

Not going to lie, you're going to struggle with energy for the first week or so. Once you're fat adapted though you have a ton more stamina because you're not relying on glycogen stores, but your stored fat instead. You don't hit a wall. The wall is the point where your glycogen stores are empty and your body is force switching to ketosis. When you're already in ketosis, there's no switch and therefore no wall Grin you end up with bags and bags of seemingly endless energy because you have constant easy access to your fat. It's commonly referred to in our house as 'the tigger effect' Grin I developed an awful habit for extreme cleaning Shock

RestingBitchFaceKeepsYouYoung · 22/05/2017 09:12

I can't seem to add my weight on the spreadsheet (on phone) but it's 233lbs Blush

B: cheese & ham
L: cream cheese & celery
D: spicy chicken salad

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 09:14

restingbitch make sure all your cheeses are full fat and there's loads of olive oil on that salad Grin

Billionnairewannabe · 22/05/2017 09:15

Good Morning everyone - thanks to BIWI and Sayyara for setting up, to everyone else for inspirational ideas (going to get a pair of size 12 jeans and take a pic of me not getting into them....yet!) and hugs to all those going thru tough times.
Guilty as charged ... I had a first successful BC over a year ago but since then I've dropped out 3 timesShock. Three days in seems to be my hurdle that I couldn't get over so I'm determined this time. Grin
So far I've had two black coffees and late bfast was chicken breast with lettuce and half an avocado. Let's do this!!

feekerry · 22/05/2017 09:16

So stupidly excited this morning... need to get a grip Grin

BIWI · 22/05/2017 09:16

@styledilemma You will be able to exercise very well, but in the first couple of weeks or so you will find it much harder. However, once your body is fat-adapted (which means you're burning fat for fuel instead of carbs) you should find that you're back to normal. Some people even report that they can perform better on low carb!

And no, you can't eat oats! They're way too carby.

GetReady · 22/05/2017 09:16

Can you add me?

212 lbs

:-(

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 09:20

Oi you lot, stop with the sad faces for starting weights. Today is the heaviest you're ever going to be and this is the 1 weigh in you can be happy is high!

Today is your line in the sand, draw it and move on Smile

styledilemma · 22/05/2017 09:20

OK. I'm going to brave it. I will take it (excercise) slowly for the first two weeks until my body aclimatises.. thanks.

runningtogetskinny · 22/05/2017 09:21

Weighed in 10st 2.4. I go on holiday in 12 days but would still like to lose as much as I can before then and get back on it when I return.

B - coffee with full fat milk
L - salad with 2 slices ham
D - steak, mushrooms, broccoli and kale

Unfortunately I've got a pre ordered meal out tomorrow and it's all carbs but I'm running 7 miles tonight so hopefully cancel it out Confused

ragz134 · 22/05/2017 09:22

Jim that's amazing, were you having a lot of dairy? Did you give up cheese? (The horror!)

I could do with a boost...
Going camping next weekend for 3 nights at a steam show and that normally involves a LOT of junk food (and wine), I seem to eat constantly when we camp while DH barely eats. I have planned ahead though, and I am NOT having the weekend off this WOE. I know what a difference it makes to weight loss now and it is not worth it. BBQ will be fine, meat and salad. I'll take some Lidl protein rolls as emergency bread substitutes but plan yo eat mostly eggs, meat, salad, olives and cheese. Was going to buy loads of nuts but I struggle to stick to portions so I won't. Also trying my best to do strict bootcamp for a boost, even though I have been LC for months now.

NamelessEnsign · 22/05/2017 09:23

I am on my phone but am already impressed with the steeliness and determination I'm seeing this morning. LC warriors!

Breakfast: Greek yoghurt
Lunch: rainbow salad (based on cauliflower 'couscous')
Dinner: aubergine mozzarella bake

I'm veggie. Have added my weight to the spreadsheet and have lost 3lb since I started LC last week. (I subsequently found BC and am glad for the company). My aim is to get into my work summer clothes for a work trip to China in August! And I normally do a lot of sport so being lighter helps me out a lot. I need to run more and do some body weight exercise to build back my tone.

I'm not starting in the best place, unfortunately - I have had recurrent infections over the last three weeks and have been feeling shoddy for a lot longer. I think I may have a staph infection - I'm at the GP hoping for an answer!
