Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

I really love CoYo but not the price so am having a go at making my own! The reason I eat it is because it's dairy free but I don't want to use any Coyo as a starter incase it doesn't work so I bought some normal yoghurt. If it works I can buy some probiotics. If this works it will save me about £6 a week!

HemanOrSheRa · 24/05/2017 11:49

Ugh. I feel awful Sad. I was on call until 7pm this morning. I saw DS off to school and went to bed, I've just woken up with the most awful headache and my body is like lead and aching. Owwww! I should have had something to eat before I slept, I think, but I wasn't really that hungry and wanted to sleep.

My sympathy to everyone else who feels dreadful Flowers.

Veryflummoxed · 24/05/2017 11:50

SayttaT the photos are amazing and you look stunning. So glad you decided to post. I was curious every time you mentioned it last boot camp.

MaryThorne · 24/05/2017 12:17

Lunch out - chicken Caesar salad with bacon and anchovies (no croutons) and coffee with cream. Yummy! Grin

B: bacon and eggs
L: stir fry with chicken
D: warm chorizo salad

explodingkittens · 24/05/2017 12:31

That smell is probably ketosis. Excess ketones are excreted through urine, breath and also skin/sweat. Once you settle into fat burning it will go as you're no longer producing more ketones than you use.

You can get into ketosis surprisingly quickly if you're following the woe properly.

It's a good thing! Grin

JiminnyCricket · 24/05/2017 12:33

Flowers to all those victims of carb flu!

re: funny smell - yep, one of the signs you've hit ketosis. It's because one of the ketone bodies you produce in ketosis is acetone, which is excreted in your breath and your sweat/ pores. Smells a bit fruity/ chemicallly. It passes once you become fat adapted and start metabolizing ketones more effectively.

Mary fabulous food choice for eating out, Star to you!

sayrra you look BEAUTIFUL. The strength you must need to do that stuff is insane! Huge huge huge congrats.

Gourd the longer you go without a clean break at this, the longer it will take to get rid of cravings. It's like pushing a car on a flat road. When you start off it needs a load of effort an willpower to get the wheels in motion, but after that bit is over your momentum will make it take a lot less effort to keep going. My mantra at the beginning when i was definately only going to do this for a week was "you can do absolutely anything for 1 day". I still do this, I wake up in the morning and I say to myself, "just get to the end of today without falling off the wagon, deal with tomorrow when it gets here and bugger yesterday, today is the day".. it's habit now but in the early days I'd just remind myself of my promise i made in the morning every time i got cravey, just repeated "i can do anything for one day". Got me through the very early days of sugar withdrawal and carb cravings :)

ragz134 · 24/05/2017 12:37

SayrraT - absolutely amazing photo shoot, you must be made up! No way do you look 15 stone!

Breakfast - Bacon and more bacon with more bacon and eggs with a couple of tinned tomatoes, with butter.
Lunch - not after that breakfast!
Dinner - leftover meatballs with salad.

Yorkshirebornandbred · 24/05/2017 12:47

I just had some olives for breakfast as I wasn't very hungry.

Lunch was 3 rashers of fried bacon, 2 fried eggs, fried mushrooms and wilted spinach with a black coffee.

Not sure what dinner will be .. I've got mince but not sure what to make. I thought about meatloaf with salad but unsure what to put in it .. any ideas?

MOIST · 24/05/2017 12:49

I have a question about cream in coffee.

Really? Proper double thick cream? Is that better than just drinking it black?

And again. Really???????

MOIST · 24/05/2017 12:51

And Sayrra- amazing.

readyforno2 · 24/05/2017 13:00

Sayrra you look stunning! You should be so proud of yourself. Are you still going to Madame Peaches?

Food today, so far.
B - ff yog, coffee with cream
L - leftover cauliflower pizza with salad.

I'm at the personals trainer tonight so will probably have a light dinner afterwards. Dh away tomorrow till the 23rd so the next couple of days are going to be tough.

JiminnyCricket · 24/05/2017 13:00

moist, coffee with cream is a meal so you wouldnt drink it like you would normal black coffee.. but yes, really ;)

NigellasGuest · 24/05/2017 13:07

I love coffee with double cream! In fact I love cream full stop and add it to omelettes and to scrambled egg.

MOIST · 24/05/2017 13:14

Ah. I see. So if I can't face breakfast a slug would do. That's useful. I'm not a breakfast person.

ShastaBeast · 24/05/2017 13:18

Sayrra - I agree you don't look 15 stone. Some people carry weight so much better than others. I really don't carry it well, although I can hide it in the right clothes. Being 5ft4 doesn't help either.

I'm stuffed full of fat - pork crackling, yoghurt and creamy coffee. Might need to snack on salad. Planning dinner and thinking of roasting chicken peices skin-on with smoked paprika rubbed in, salad, avocado and yoghurt dip.

That would be 19g carbs (90g fat and 77g protein) - too low carbs, too high protein?

MOIST · 24/05/2017 13:18

I'm all over the shop with meals. (Nights).

Midnight celery, cheese, olives, cucumber

4am egg, tinned tomato, spring onion, mushroom, spinach bake thing

1pm avocado, egg mayo and celery.

I'll maybe have some leftover egg bake thing this evening.

And/or some yogurt. And a swim.

I am hanging knackered and my back hurts but not back until Saturday night.

HemanOrSheRa · 24/05/2017 13:18

I've just had a tomato, avocado and mozzarella salad with basil and olive oil. I mopped up the oily juices with a small slice of crustless quiche. Yum! I've had a cup of hot bouillon and I'm now drinking a small coffee with cream Smile. Feeling much better than an hour ago!

I'm planning on having pork belly for dinner. I usually cook them with chinese style favours and stir fried veg. Would it be too much fat if I had it with a garlic mushroom sauce made with butter and cream? And veg drizzled/cooked in butter? DP will eat this and I can add some steamed new potatoes for him if he likes.

MyShinyThing · 24/05/2017 13:21

I'm ridiculously excited that bootcamp is back! So much easier to stick with this WOE when reading everyone's post. It's taken me until now to read to the end!

I fell off the wagon on the last BC but have been back on LCHF for the last 3 weeks & have lost 6lbs. Unfortunately I never seem to lose more than 2 lb a week but am perfectly happy with the slow & steady.

Well done everyone so far & Flowers to those struggling with carb flu. Sayraa you look awesome, your legs are fab!

Thought I'd post a pic of my lunch as it was delicious, so much better than a crappy sandwich! It's liberally dressed with olive oil which I love. Dinner will be chicken thighs & roasted veg, breakfast was yogurt & a bit of cream. Think I'm about 2 litres into my water for the day so going well so far.

KOKO everyone.

Week 1 - Pre-Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - Off we go!
HemanOrSheRa · 24/05/2017 13:21

Chinese FLAVOURS. FLAVOURS! My phone keeps changing words for me Hmm.

ChesterDrawers · 24/05/2017 13:22

Wow Sayrra, amazing pics!

I really wish I knew why I find it so hard to stick to this WOE. I have just had the most amazing omelette and salad, so rich and fatty and filling. Why do I always think that a few roasties or a coupe of packet of biscuits is going to be better than that? Need to bottle this feeling for when the carbs come a calling.

In other news we've are going to pick up our new four-legged friend at the weekend! So excited Grin We lost our old DDog last year and it's been a hard decision to get another but I am pleased we are. And it will give me more reasons to get out in the fresh air, which I've really missed.

ChesterDrawers · 24/05/2017 13:27

No such thing as too much fat Heman", it's really hard to over eat on so I say go for it! Sounds fit!

MyShinyThing · 24/05/2017 13:27

I'm not an expert Heman but that doesn't sound like too much to me. Plus if it really is too much fat then you won't be able to finish it as it'll make you feel a bit sick. That's what I find anyway.

I usually have pork belly with cauli mash & veg & then pour the fat from the pork belly over the top 😳

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 24/05/2017 13:41

I feel like dog shit today. Aching, half asleep and sore throat/earache. Plus I think I'm due on and I just want to eat and eat at the moment.

B: Hb egg, was late for leaving and half asleep.
S: cucumber and cream cheese, one of the John west tuna infusion pots (horrible, wouldnt recommend, still ate it all though)
L: Pate and Celery, slices of cheese and some yogurt.

StuntNun · 24/05/2017 13:42

ASD I'll try and find my recipe for coconut yogurt although it might be on the recipe thread. I tried it out when I was breastfeeding DS4 who is allergic to dairy but it turned out he was also allergic to coconut and eggs and soya, dramatic sigh.

Cherries drinking more water will probably help with the ketosis smell. If it's a real problem then move on to Bootcamp Light early so you won't be in as deep ketosis.

Does anyone else have a crush on Sayyra after seeing that photo? Blush

There's nowt wrong with those macros Shasta. The idea of eating too much protein isn't supported by evidence. Unless you have diabetes then anywhere from 15-40% protein is probably fine. I recommend aiming for 20-30%.
