Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

If you can, take paracetamol rather than ibuprofen

OP posts:
RealHousewifeOfPontypandy · 23/05/2017 21:40

Marking place- will start next Monday but following to get into the mindset again!!!! I've ballooned over the last year 😕

MaryThorne · 23/05/2017 21:43

BIWI why should we have paracetamol rather than ibuprofen?

Bluebell75 · 23/05/2017 21:49

Need to get a bit more prepared to stop me reaching for too much processed food but finding energy levels are better especially in the afternoon and I'm not wanting to snack as feel pretty full.

B: Coffee, cheese and salami
L: Feta, chicken and olive salad with oil dressing
D: Roast belly pork, courgette, spinach and mushrooms sautéed in butter

Need to up the water as on about 1.5 litres so far, should be 2.5Blush

BIWI · 23/05/2017 21:56

MaryThorne - I don't know; but what I've read on other forums suggests that ibuprofen can impede weight loss for some reason. I'll see if I can find out more!

OP posts:
BIWI · 23/05/2017 21:58

This post would suggest that it's about water retention

MaryThorne · 23/05/2017 22:06

Thanks BIWI, useful to be aware of.

Patapouf · 23/05/2017 22:08

Struggling to keep up with the thread, it's moving so fast this time!

B: total yog & 2 Cumberland sausages
L: olives, babybel and salad
D: chicken salad with hm coleslaw
S: babybel

I've had my 3.5l of water and i went to the gym. I am absolutely ravenous and I think it's the gym.

BIWI · 23/05/2017 22:10

You're probably hungry because you haven't really eaten very much - your lunch wasn't very much!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 23/05/2017 22:12

Argh, my period is arriving Angry. Although on the flip side it may mean that my weigh in yesterday was heavier than it would otherwise have been.

Here's my food for today:

B: 2 rashers of bacon, 4 slices of Leerdammer and a creamy coffee (had got scrambled eggs but they were yuck so had the cheese)

L: hard boiled eggs and ham with mayo, 1/2 packet of chorizo crisps and 3 little parcels of manchego wrapped in Serrano ham [i know no veg here - had to make do with what I had in work fridge...]

S: got home at 7.30pm and knew it would be a while until dinner so had a couple of slices of salami and pieces of Brie.

D: tomato and mozzarella salad with olive oil. Was also going to have avocado but it was still v green and hard.

Around 3 litres of water.

Looking back there has been rather a lot of cheese today Blush

readyforno2 · 23/05/2017 22:15

BIWI

You're totally right about the veg, although today was better than yesterday surely?

I will do better tomorrow. Salad already put together for lunch..

ShastaBeast · 23/05/2017 22:20

Ibuprofen is bad for the stomach too, I can't take it now and suffer heartburn after being prescribed naproxen, it gave me terrible cramps. I take lansoprazole as a result but this will impact digestion somewhat. I also take opiates and wonder if they increase weight gain and dehydration - I really try to limit them but it's the lesser of two evils compared to high level pain. And pain can result in low will power and need to comfort eat.

CobOnTheCorn · 23/05/2017 22:21

B: coffee and cream
L: scrambled eggs with avocado and asparagus
D: sausages with broccoli in a sauce made from cream, cheese, thyme, mustard and lardons

5l of water

Polkadotties · 23/05/2017 22:30

B - 2x babybels
L- 2x thighs, Tesco peppery mixed leaves, couple of plum tomatoes, mozzarella pearls and lots of olive oil
D - duck breast pan fried in goose fat, shallots fried in butter, brocolli and butter

My breakfasts and lunches are nearly always the same, find it easier when I'm at work.
I rode my horse for an hour this evening, we were both sweaty by the end of it.

marioncole · 23/05/2017 22:38

Cobonthecorn 5 litres?! Wow.

Patapouf · 23/05/2017 22:39

You're right BIWI, i felt full at the time but my hunger is obviously cumulative because this is the second night in a row I've been lying in bed starving when I've been fine all day. I haven't had the time to prep meals properly which is why I had such a measly lunch. Think I'll forgo the gym tomorrow and use the time to do a bit of batch cooking!

BIWI · 23/05/2017 22:42

@TheWayofTheWorld

There's also a lot of processed meats in your day!

OP posts:
styledilemma · 23/05/2017 22:43

Does this look OK?

B - 2 egg omelette with 2 thin slices gouda cheese, knob of butter
L - smoked mackerel fillet with salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber andgrated carrot.
D - salmon fillet with steamed cauliflower, brocolli florets, with knob of butter.
Snack - 2 sticks celery with small amount of grated cheese.
I think I hit my water quota as well.

styledilemma · 23/05/2017 22:44

Oh and I had a small pot of ordinary yeo valley yoghurt.

I'm not sure if we're meant to be having snacks as well as the 3 meals, but I've been a bit hungry today.

styledilemma · 23/05/2017 22:48

Lunch*: mussels in wine sauce

Marythorne, that's given me another meal idea, thanks. I love Mussels and they're quick and easy to do. Dunk the whole thing in boiling water for 4 minutes. Open the bag, bingo!
And they're in a cream sauce as well, which is good.

BIWI · 23/05/2017 22:50

@styledilemma - that looks ok (although I'd ditch the carrot). Ideally we don't snack, but in these initial couple of weeks, if you're hungry, then do - as long as it's low carb.

If you've been hungry then you probably haven't been eating enough fat - sounds like you're only having a small amount of butter, if you're talking about 'a knob' of butter. And how were you cooking your salmon? Were you grilling it or frying it?

OP posts:
styledilemma · 23/05/2017 22:55

I fryed it.
I haven't been hungry all day, except for the last hour. I'm glad you said about not snacking - if possible. I wasn't sure. Thanks!
I think I will make my evening meal a bit bigger, because the snacking seems to happen mainly in the evening.

styledilemma · 23/05/2017 22:55

fried Blush

nextchapterplease · 23/05/2017 23:33

Late post but wanted to check in as think this accountability is what makes us stay on track . Can't believe how active this thread is but it's been brilliant as even though I have lost weight on previous BCs I am still learning lots and the recipes are reminding me of some great ideas !

B - my egg / vegetable muffins were a triumph - kept me going until about 2 as I was out and about.
L - salad chicken thighs and avocado
s - pork scratchings - quite a few
D- monkfish and prawn curry made with shallots coconut milk and a slightly too Carby sauce ( tomato based ) served with courgette spaghetti from m and s. Think it was ok with the sauce as I didn't need much of it without rice to absorb it.
( frets about BIWI telling me otherwise !)

Water - 2 litres need to do better tomorrow I shouldn't have taken some out with me.

Feeling a bit frustrated as we are off to Cornwall for half term so I know I will find it hard to be this focussed but hoping a really good first week will at least stop me from being a total carby twat ...
Trying not to dwell on the fact that when we went away this time last year I was a stone lighter and felt fab! Hopefully will be there again in the summer holidays . Smile

achangeisgonnacome · 23/05/2017 23:48

Late post from me too.

B - cheese, ham, and sausage and tomatoes
L- chicken and ham salad with cheese
D-tandoori chicken and sag paneer

S-two babybels

Yay, day two completed and day three here I come Smile

Btw, i have a job interview tomorrow, so fingers crossed for me , please fellow LCBCers. Xx
