Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

JimminnyCricket

Thanks! I managed to avoid hoovering up the kids jam tarts with the cocoa at least. I really like a cup of it but dont know if I can have it daily on this WOE?

Am off to shops tomorrow to get some higher fat stuff...

I have also been chugging on a waterbottle with lemons/cuecumber and mint and parsely in. Tis really nice and have managed 2l of water. not enough I know but good for me...

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 17:33

bettertogether on reAlly really bad days a hot bath and I paint my nails Grin, you dont need alcohol to wind down Wink

littlebillie it depends on too much to predict really, some people lose a stone, some lose less and some lose much more. At a BMI of 27 you're not far off a healthy weight.

However, know that by the end of the 10 weeks if you stick at this, you'll be much closer to your target thqn when you started and even closer still than if you quit Grin

For context, my BMI was 42.7 and I lost 24lbs in 10 weeks, I've lost 30 in total since starting this WOE 15 weeks ago :)

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 17:36

worship dont make it a habit, we're trying to kill your addiction to sugar remember ;) If you're dying for something chocolatey it's a good choice as it's pretty low carb, but make it with double cream and a bit of water so it's also satisfying (extra fat) and wont just make you crave more.

Veryflummoxed · 22/05/2017 17:39

B. Ff Greek yogurt
L. A slice of belly pork. A low carb sausage.
D. Chicken leg and thigh with skin. Cauliflower broccoli and sprouts with butter.

Less than half a litre of water to go. Mint tea, black tea. It didn't happen over night, or even over a bootcamp, but I am now a confirmed black tea drinker. No one more surprised than me.

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 17:42

very Shock I bow down to you, I can't handle black tea, it has to be green without milk! Blush

It's great that so many people are asking questions and excited to get going on BC, this thread has kept me busy on a very boring day!

There's loads of names from the old thread back again too which is great to see Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 17:53

I think from your description I am in sugar withdrawal Jiminny. I did cut out carbs half heartedly on Friday, I LC'd on Saturday but didn't do high fat and struggled. I started LCHF yesterday after realising just LC is hopeless. I feel strangely weary but wired at the same time. I've just walked the dog which I was dreading as I feel grim but when I started walking I felt OK and zipped around the field. I usually drag myself round at this time of day! It's cleared my headache too.

I get my water in by taking a 2l bottle of water to work with me. I can't always get a refill as I'm not completely office based. So, I know I have to get that down me throughout the day. I then have 2 pints of water when I do get to my desk. I have 2 mugs of hot water with lemon first thing. Or one with a glass of cold water. Then I'll have a couple more glasses in the evening with dinner etc. I am pretty good at drinking water if I have it to hand anyway though.

C4pinkwheels · 22/05/2017 17:59

B- Greek yogurt with a dash of lemon zest
L - half an avocado, hard boiled egg, chicken
D - hake, cabbage, courgette, asparagus

dustmotesinthesun · 22/05/2017 18:07

I felt absolutely awful when I first switched to this woe. It was 3 years ago now and I still remember it. I spent the first 4 days going, 'I'm fine! I got away with it.' Then I was just exhausted and felt fluey. It did suddenly just turn off then and I've not had issues ever since. Even times when I've gone back to eating lots of carbs (on holiday say), it hasn't hit again after. Which is a bit odd but there you go.

Really good day. I tried to make the chorizo chips and didn't use kitchen towel. It looked like the chorizo was bleeding all over the plate Grin Very tasty though!

ragz134 · 22/05/2017 18:15

Wow, so much action here today, lovely to see all the new BC motivation.

Today went as planned, had my egg with mayo around 10:30 - I don't have breakfast most days, I tend to eat in a 16:8 pattern, so this worked as I had dinner at 5:15.
Lunch was leftover courgette and mince bake with veg.
Dinner was baked chicken with roasted courgette, pepper and red onion with a few peas (not many of the last three as they are carby) with cheese sauce (cheddar, cream and mustard. OMG it was amazing!)

I've had a headache today too, not carb related as I've been LC for ages, I shall blame the weather. Have had 1.5l of water so far.

New low weight this morning to start bootcamp round 2 with, which was nice. I weigh daily as I know I fluctuate a lot and I feel better seeing a gain come off the next day rather than feel bad for a week.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 22/05/2017 18:48

Just bought some of those chorizo crisps Grin

They also have a packet of little rectangles of manchego cheese wrapped in Parma ham Wink

WorshipTheGourd · 22/05/2017 18:49

2 small very fatty pork chops with a spoonful of fullfat philly and a smidge of mustard. with broccoli. Lovely!

Where is the link to the list of okay veg pls?

HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 19:03

Ooh I saw those World. I bought the salami crisps along with the Chorizo and pork scratching ones instead. You could pick up a decent feast in M&S from the delivery range Smile. A bit pricey but OK if you are stuck or unprepared.

Asmoto · 22/05/2017 19:03

Breakfast - boiled egg
Lunch - tub of Longley Farm full fat cottage cheese
Dinner - Steak fried in butter, with mayonnaise and spinach.

L238 · 22/05/2017 19:06

Thank you to those setting up the boot camp & spreadsheets and hello everyone, look forward to getting to know you over the next 10 wks.

Feeling ok so far. Weigh in wasn't quite as bad as I expected but still a fair way (at least 3st) from where I want to be.

B: buttery scrambled eggs & an attempt at BPC - going easy on the butter for now till I get used to it. It was...ok. Didn't love it, didn't hate it.
L: chicken caeser salad with roasted chick thigh & lots of mayo in the dressing
D: not sure yet! Maybe an aubergine mozzarella bake (going light on tomatoes) or maybe cod, asparagus, spinach and butter.
Water: 3L so far, have been crazy thirsty but that always happens when I make a conscious effort to drink more. I'm usually really bad with water so this should get me back on track

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 19:16

worship it's on the spreadsheet and BIWI also copy and pasted it up thread :)

Livelongandprosper · 22/05/2017 19:27

Would someone please add me to the spreadsheet?
With a starting weight of 131 please.
And if someone could stop this pounding in my head I would also be very greatful

feekerry · 22/05/2017 19:36

Another here who got the chorizo crisps Grin

BIWI · 22/05/2017 19:36

Goodness what a lot of posts Grin

Thanks Jiminy for being around to provide all those answer as well Flowers

@Naschkatze

B - Greek yoghurt, full fat with strawberries (BC light - breastfeeding.)

Perfect!

S - Boiled egg with salt and mayo.

Again, fine; hopefully once you're fat-adapted, you won't need to snack, but this kind of snack is perfect (and I'm assuming it was full fat mayo?)

L - Salad with a whole avocado, cucumber. Dressing made from mayo and lemon juice.

Sounds OK - an oil-based dressing might have been better, as it would have been carb free, and you would probably have ended up having more fat than this, which doesn't sound very much - although obviously I can't see the amount of dressing that you made!

D will be - Lemon chicken with spinach, mushrooms and broccoli.

Sounds lovely! But again, how are you cooking this, and how much fat are you using?

If I feel peckish I have some celery sticks to eat with cream cheese. Or maybe a spoon of peanut butter. Are these okay?

Cream cheese is better - peanut butter is quite carby, although this does depend on the brand; some are much carbier than others, so it's always worth checking the back of the pack

Questions: Is a whole avocado too much?!

Not really, when all you had with it was cucumber!

Am I allowed tea with a bit of milk?

Only if it's genuinely just a splash of milk - and if you're not having multiple cups of tea

How much butter for cooking or eating with veg? I don't want to over do it.

As much as you like! This is a high fat way of eating, so the more the better!

Week 1 - Pre-Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - Off we go!
HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 19:47

I had a brisk walk Live. Could you manage that? It cleared the banging headache I had. It was thumping a bit at the start but then it just lifted.

ilovecherries · 22/05/2017 19:47

Made it through day 1. I was a late joiner so today had to make do with what was in the fridge, but I'll get more variation in from now on.

B - 2 egg omelette with mushroom and asparagus fried in butter, served on top of wilted spinach
L - 2 leftover drumsticks with a large green salad with olive oil
D - roast chicken with skin on, served with courgette 'Pappardelle' and spiced brocilli with a hot lemon butter dressing
S - 20 gm snack size cheddar (tried to do without this, but at 4pm it was eat the cheese or have the chocolate, and cheese was a better option).

3 cups of black tea and 1.5 litres of water - need to work on this, spent most of the day in the loo and I was actually gagging at the water by the end. Overall feeling pleased though. I love cooking so I'll enjoy that part, so off to Sainsbury's to get organised while I'm feeling pleasantly full. See you tomorrow!

Naschkatze · 22/05/2017 19:50

@BIWI

Thank you! When I say salad, there were a whole load of leaves too. I'll make a jar of oily dressing to keep in the fridge - I probably love mayo a bit too much.

Dinner was lovely - I cooked the mushrooms in butter and a bit of oil to stop it burning, added garlic then the spinach and steamed brocolli. Then added creme fraiche - wasn't sure if this was okay but I had a pot in the fridge that needed finishing. Felt like quite a naughty meal!

Going to have to cut back on my beloved tea.. don't think I can manage it without milk.

Billionnairewannabe · 22/05/2017 19:55

My success of today is that I've already had 3l of water!! I find carrying a 500ml bottle all day and refilling it 5 times works for me.
B- chicken, lettuce, avocado, mayo
L - beef slices, cheese
D - bolognaise on a bed of Grin lettuce & avocado with sour cream
And walked the dog over an hour with a friend. Feeling virtuous - will it last past day 3 though? Hmm

CaptainBraandPants · 22/05/2017 20:02

Wow, what a lot of posts! At this rate BIWI will need to start a new thread by about Thursday. Grin
It's taken me all day, off and on to catch up. Every time I think I've got there someone else posts.

So, after 10 days off, I have put 5lbs on. I am also just about to start AF, so hopefully this will disappear quickly. Not that I will know as I am trying not going to weigh until the end of BC. My size 12 trousers which just about did up two weeks ago now won't, so this will be my weekly challenge to see how long before I can fit into them. I wasn't brave enough to post a photo, but well done those that have.
I have a ring of chorizo in the fridge, so after all the talk of chorizo crisps, I have followed Stuntnun's lead and microwaved some thin slices. Mmm, they were lovely smeared with cream cheese. I have a container of crisps/ cheese to take to work with me tomorrow now.

Today's food was:
B: 2x creamy coffee
L: Leftover roast beef, mashed cauli, broccoli and sautéed leeks
D: Chicken garam masala with cauli rice
S: olives and a taste of the chorizo crisps

Will probably have an almond milk spicy chai latte later - I hadn't had one for a while, but had one last night as I am trying to do strict BC, so wanted to avoid the 90% chocolate I often have.

Good luck everyone. I love reading all the positive experiences Flowers and for those that are new to BC, keep posting even when it gets tough and it will as there are a brilliant bunch of people on this thread, lead by the brilliant BWI
